Hey guys, it's been a while. A real while.

You all must be wonder where the heck I've been or why I haven't posted a new chapter for a long time. Well, you deserve to know the truth. During the spring, about four weeks after the last chapter I posted for Black Roses I completely…burned out. Not just from writing but from school, work, and I guess life in itself. I quit my job, stopped going to classes, and slowly distance myself from family and friends for quite some time. Even considered dropping my stories completely. It felt like I dropped to the lowest point in my life. I was basically done with everything at that point. Depression sank in, I gained weight, got sick a lot, and had too many…thoughts. Heh, it was a terrible time.

But thankfully I had an old friend who was there to help me. He talked to me about getting help, I was hesitant of course but he made me realize my situation. So I went. And slowly but surely, I got better. Over the course of these past 4 months, I've been working on bettering myself with the help of my therapist, my friends, and my family.

I recently started working again about two weeks ago. No school yet, I'll probably return next semester. As for my stories, I'm relighting the writer in me and starting them back up again. This chapter was meant to be a long one, but I saw how long it's been since my last update, and I wanted to give you guys something to enjoy now, but I also don't want to keep you guys waiting long for the next chapter I'm writing, so I'm breaking this long chapter into two chapters. While the next NEXT one is being finished.

I'm going to leave this chapter up for about a week and a half before posting up the next one. The same thing will be done for Black Roses.

Now going to point out something about Mothra. As far as I know, there's no evidence that says Legendary Mothra possesses the same telepathic abilities as Toho Mothra. The same will be said to all the other titans that have Toho counterparts. Until further information arises.

Well with that cleared up let's begin this chapter.

It was an interesting and eventful couple of months for team CFVY after being tasked to look after their mystery guest.

The team all agreed to pair up and take turns in teaching the mystery woman. Mondays and Tuesdays were Coco and Fox, while Wednesday and Thursday were Velvet and Yatsuhashi. The first three weeks were boring and tiresome since the team wasn't used to teaching someone how to read and write and basic social skills. In terms of experience, Yatsuhashi had the most due to having a little sister. Sure Coco had younger siblings too but she never had to teach them anything, her parents were the ones that did all that.

It was only after the fifth week that they began seeing progress. The woman seemed to finally understand which names belonged to who, as well as her writing her first word 'hello'. Team CFVY felt absolutely livid that they finally got her to write a word. After that everything seemed to go very smoothly. There were some minor bumps on the road, for instance, a group of students thought it would be funny to pick on the woman and pull on her wings, they found themselves severely beaten up and silked onto the ceiling of the cafeteria. It was bad, yes, but it could've been worse. They could've been killed.

Glynda ended scolding them when she found out.

The next couple of weeks the mystery woman now referred to as Ms. Moth by Team CFVY has gotten a good understanding of conversations. She was able to interpret what they were saying and respond in her own way, which was drawing, to which they were surprised to discover she was really good at. But still no words, much to Glynda's disappointment, she had hoped to get some information about the anomalies from her.

There were times where they would catch her staring out the window for hours as if she was trying to find something. Of course, they asked what she is looking at, but every response was the same, a small smile. It was sorta strange, but she wasn't bothering anyone, so they let her be.

Unfortunately, one thing they had to work on was Ms. Moth's decency. She was caught walking the school hallways naked several times, either searching for Team CFVY or Glynda. The first time it happened she was found by Ozpin and Port and was quickly escorted back to her room before any of the students saw her. The next few times she was found by either Team CFVY or another student.

Then there was the big one when she walked in during Glynda's combat class. As you might expect many of the boys found the sight of a naked woman very awe-dropping. Glynda and Team CFVY tried to get her to understand that wearing clothes were essential for walking out of the room. But she didn't seem to understand.

Talk of Ms. Moth's was slowly spreading throughout the school ever since she first walked into the academy. From her exotic and strange appearance to her strength, speed, and prowess she demonstrated on those students who picked on her. Some students were intimidated by her while others were fascinated, mainly the Faunus. Team CFVY also noticed their teammate Velvet spending more time with the mystery lady than with them. Greatly enjoying the time she gets to spend with her.

There was a sorta concerning… event that happened at Beacon due to the mystery woman's humming. It first caught the attention of Professor Ozpin and his staff when they noticed many of the Faunus students in a trance-like state. Many of whom were found sitting outside Ms. Moth's window all absorbing the melody she hummed. Glynda was quick to interrupt the mystery woman's humming effect by closing the windows, snapping all the Faunus students from their trances.

While no one was hurt, it was still concerning to Ozpin how a single person was able to place all of his Faunus students into a trance. But there was something new that was discovered about that day.

"What're you talking about?" Coco questioned Velvet as she and her team walked through the streets of Vale with the Moth Faunus.

"I mean the melody she was humming; it was different than what I heard over in Mount Glenn." Velvet explained causing raised brows from her team.

"Okay, so she sings a different tune. Not really understanding what you're trying to get at." Coco said.

Velvet sighed, "The melody I heard in Mount Glenn was sad but comforting. She was trying to calm that dying wolf. But the one I heard last week was completely different. It was beautiful and powerful. I-I think she was… trying to call someone." Coco and her teammates stopped in their tracks.

"She was calling someone. Like another insect Faunus?" Fox questioned.

"I think so. I'm not really sure who she was trying to call, all I know is that she was trying to reach someone." Velvet said, taking a quick glance at the Moth Faunus who very curiously looked at all the things they were walking by.

"Have you informed Professor Ozpin and Goodwitch about this?" Yatsuhashi inquiries.

Velvet shook her head, "No, not yet."

"Well, when we get back, I think you should tell them." Coco says, "In the meantime, I think it's time we find Ms. Moth her very own outfit." Velvet smiled while Yatsuhashi and Fox gave a heavy sigh.

"You two better not take long, because it looks like it's about to rain." Yatsuhashi pointed to the cloudy sky.

The two girls led the mystery woman to a clothing store, needless to say, the employees were quite surprised by the woman's height and appearance, but they couldn't deny that there was a beauty to her. After several minutes of searching Coco managed to pick out a large pile of clothes for the woman to try on. With Velvets' help, they tried on every cloth combination.

Yatsuhashi and Fox boredly waited an hour and a half for their cloth trying spree to end. "Maybe we should have stayed at the academy." Fox commented.

"Agreed."

The curtains to the dresser room finally opened, Velvet and Coco both walked out, both wearing exhausted expressions though there was some annoyance on Coco's face. "Is everything alright?" Fox asked.

"It's not fair…" Coco muttered causing raised brows from the two boys.

Velvet awkwardly smiled. "She's fine. Just a bit jealous." Her answer adding more confusion. "We tried nearly 100 clothes and… she looked great in all of them." Yatsuhashi and Fox both deadpanned. She's depressed because of that?

"How can someone that has never worn clothes before look so hot and sexy in everything!" Coco mildly shouted gaining some stares from people. Fox facepalmed while Velvet tried calming her down. "Where is she?" Yatsuhashi asks.

Coco ceased her rant, "Hm? Oh, you can come out now." From behind the curtains walked out the Moth Faunus. Yatsuhashi and Fox's eyes widen. Ms. Moth now wore a short white dress with blue patterns. White stockings and white heels. She looked simple enough but the beauty she radiated was godly. Her image capturing the eyes of everyone in the store.

"Alright! Alright! Nothing to see here people just keeping going on about your day." Coco said getting everyone to return back to what they were doing.

"She looks nice." Yatsuhashi commented. Fox nodded.

"What happened to all the other clothes?" Fox asked.

"Well, halfway through the pile we realized that she still doesn't really understand that wearing clothes is essential, it would be a waste if we bought everything, and she ends up never wearing it. So, we settle on something simple." Coco answered while she ordered more of the same clothes to be delivered to the academy. As they were about to walk out Yatsuhashi noticed Ms. Moth not following. "Ms. Moth, is everything alright?" The moth Faunus was staring at a pile of blue silk neck scarfs. She carefully picked up the scarf and looked closely at it, almost as if she was mesmerized by it. With the scarf in hand, she walked out of the store. "Ah, wait we have to pay for that!" Velvet exclaimed. Coco quickly paid for the scarf and the team ran outside.

Not far, they saw Ms. Moth holding up the blue scarf to the sky. "Hey, you can't just take something without paying." Coco scold. The Moth Faunus didn't listen. "Um, Hello…?"

Velvet and Fox approached the woman. "Ms. Moth?" Velvet started. "Is everything okay?" Fox saw how brightly she was smiling at the scarf.

"Alpha."

"…"

Team CFVY stood quiet, staring at the mystery woman with surprised eyes. "Did. Did you just talk?" Coco questioned. Ms. Moth turned to her with a smile. "Alpha." She said again returning her gaze to the blue scarf. It wasn't just because she finally spoke that they were awe stuck it was also how beautiful her voice sounded. Yatsuhashi shook his head and took a step forward. "Does this scarf remind you of someone?"

Ms. Moth looked up at him and nodded. "Alpha."

"Alpha…" Velvet repeated, "Wait! Alpha. Is that who you were trying to reach with your singing?"

With a smile, Ms. Moth nodded. "Call Alpha. Yes."

"Looks like you were right." Fox says to Velvet. "She was calling someone."

"I'm guessing no one has a clue who this Alpha is? Coco spoke to her team. They all shook their heads. "Whelp, guess we should head back and inform Professor Ozpin about this." As they began to make their way back to the Academy, Velvet looked up to the taller woman, grabbing the scarf she wrapped it nicely around the woman's neck. "There, better than holding it, right?" Velvet smiles.

The moth woman touched the scarf and smiled back before following after the others.

"Hey, we should get something to eat before we head back." Coco suggested.

"What'd you have in mind?" Fox asks.

Coco smirked, "Ramen."

"Ramen?" Yatsuhashi questioned.

"Yea, I'm kinda craving for some. Plus you know how Ms. Moth here loves eating noodles." She was not wrong. During the first month, they discovered that their moth friend was very much enjoyed eating anything grain, especially noodles.

"Ramen does sound nice right about now." Fox says.

"See Fox is on board. What about you Velvet?" Coco asks, her smirk disappearing when she noticed Velvet's wide eyes. "Velvet, you okay?" She asks.

Fox noticed Ms. Moth standing still with her gaze glued to the sky. "…No." They heard her say. Before they could question her about it, a high pitch roar echoed the skies. The roar last for a couple of seconds then, complete silence. Everyone in the Kingdom stared at the sky. Coco was the first to speak. "What the hell was that?"

"I don't know, but we better head bac- GAH!" Yatsuhashi words were cut off by a panther Faunus jumping on his back and angrily scratch his face. "Yatsuhashi!" Both Fox and Coco shouted. Running up to their friend they tried to remove the Faunus but just couldn't, then they noticed around them were tons of other Faunus wildly attacking people including other Faunus.

Fox was tackled by a large bull Faunus who angrily threw him into a lamp post. "Fox!" Coco yelled.

Coco was about to go help her friend when she was suddenly grabbed by the hair causing her to scream and then violently thrown to the ground with her head hitting the concrete floor. Feeling dazed for a moment Coco looked up to the attacker and was shocked to see it was Velvet. Her partner had a rageful look just like the other Faunus.

Velvet pounced on her and began to wildly beat her with her fist.

"Velvet no!" Fox shouted still trying to get away from the rampaging Bull Faunus.

Coco did her best to defend herself and push Velvet off. But it was hopeless. The rabbit Faunus continues to beat her partner all the while screaming like a beast. "Velvet it's me! Coco! Snap out of it!" Seeing that her words were unable to reach her friend. Coco threw a punch to Velvet's face before grabbing her by the front and pulling her down for a headbutt. The attack disoriented her a bit which gave Coco the opportunity to lift her hips up and throw Velvet off.

Coco rolled to her feet. Looking up to see Velvet getting back up, still bearing that same enraged face. With her hands in front of her in a calm manner, Coco steadily backed away. "Velvet. Stop. This isn't you."

Velvet responded with a growl, baring her teeth at Coco. As the leader of Team CFVY continued to back away, a crash occurred behind her. Taking a quick glance, she saw Fox get tackled into a car by the large Bull Faunus. While Yatsuhashi was now struggling with three Faunus all punching and scratching at him. "No!" She cried out.

Velvet let out a scream before charging at her. Immediately Coco turned back around catching Velvet's hands before they could deal any damage to her. Coco's eyes widen as she quickly felt herself being overpowered by Velvet's sudden change in strength. Coco was forced to fall on one knee. "W-What the..!"

Coco was then pulled and slammed into the wall behind Velvet. Coco quickly got back up but was pushed back up to the wall by Velvet. One hand was on her shoulder and the other was pushed against the side of her face. Coco tried to remove the hand from her face but just couldn't.

Velvet continued her rageful screams, applying more pressure to her Coco skull. Velvet gripped Coco's head and repeatedly slammed it against the wall. Coco felt her Aura giving away with each slam and her Velvet's nails slowly digging past her Aura into the right side of her face, drawing blood.

Coco bit gritted her teeth, biting back the pain of Velvet's fingers digging into her right shoulder. The left side of her vision began to turn red due to the blood dripping down her eyes. The rabbit continued her rageful screams. Once more this time with more force than before Velvet slammed Coco's head, shattering her Aura.

Coco screamed as the nails dug deeper into her flesh.

Then the pain subsided. Coco fell to the floor, holding her bleed left temple. Looking up she was surprised to see Velvet being held up by the arms by Ms. Moth.

Velvet screamed as she frantically kicked and tried ripping her arms free. Moth held her up, using one of her extra arms she silked Velvet to the wall. The enraged Rabbit Faunus screamed angrily as she found herself unable to move anymore.

Coco stood back up, looking at Velvet she left with absolute confusion as to why Velvet became so violent. Her eyes moved to Moth who was staring sadly at Velvet. Then her expression morphed into a narrow glare. Turning around she walked on ahead. "H-hey, where are you going?"

She saw her walking up towards Yatsuhashi who was struggling to subdue two Faunus. Before Yatsuhashi's eyes one Faunus was suddenly silked to the floor and the other to a lamp post. Looking back he saw Moth turn around.

With Fox, he rolled underneath a swing of the large bull Faunus arm then ducked under another. He had previously attempted to knock out the Faunus with a kick to the head, but it just resulted in him being tackled to a car.

Fox jumped back from the Bull Faunus and prepared for another charge. But when Bull Faunus charged at him, he was grabbed by one horn and slammed into a wall, face first, before being heavily silked to the floor and wall. Moth stood over the subdued Faunus and turned back around, heading in the direction of all the other enraged Faunus. "What the…" Fox started.

"Fox!" Hearing his leader's voice Fox turned towards it. His eyes widen at seeing the blood dripping down Coco's left eye. "Coco your eye!"

"I'm fine. We have to go help Ms. Moth stop these Faunus.

"How do we do that? You saw how strong they suddenly got." Fox says.

"And we can't exactly call in our weapons. They might be rampaging but they're still civilians." Yatsuhashi added.

Coco quickly looked around, her eyes landing on the silk pinning the large Bull Faunus. "The silk," She says, "We push, throw, or punch them into the silk. It's strong enough to keep them in place until help arrives."

"Alright, that's a good idea. Let's do it." Fox said. Now with a plan, the trio raced after their mystery friend to help.

Over in Beacon, students desperately defended themselves from their fellow classmates who suddenly became enraged. Teachers trying their best in protecting their students from the rampaging ones with little success as there were many Faunus turning violent and not many teachers.

Glynda staggered back from the punch she received, looking back she raised her leg up to stop the incoming Faunus student and pushed him back before using her semblance to slam him to the floor then lifted him up and slammed him into a pair of rampaging Faunus attacking students. Using her semblance, she reformed the floor to wrap itself around the enraged Faunus students.

"Go! Run to your dorms and lock them. Do not open them until some of the faculty come gets you!" Glynda ordered. The students nodded and ran to safety.

When her eyes left them Glynda was immediately grabbed by another enraged Faunus who pounced on her. The Dog Faunus bit into her arm, Glynda's Aura was the only thing protecting her from the Faunus's teeth. Quickly she brought her arm around causing the Faunus to lose its grip and slide off Glynda's arm. Raising her crop she brought forth parts of the concrete floor and brought them down onto the student.

She saw several students struggling to subdue two rampaging Faunus and others defending themselves against others.

Taking steps to go help, Glynda stopped when her ears picked up the sound of a screaming girl, looking in the direction of the screams she saw a Faunus student over another Faunus student with a brick over them. The enraged Faunus proceeded to beat the student with it. "NO!" Glynda shouted, raising her crop she used her semblance to bring a stream of tiles but before she could do anything she was tackled by another Faunus student. Lifted up Glynda was slammed to the floor causing her to gasp and lose her grip on her crop. The student then began stomping her face. Glynda's head bounced off the floor several times before she managed to cover her face with her arms.

The stomping ceased when the student was struck in the forehead causing them to stumble back before falling back. As they were getting up they were struck again this time knocking them out cold.

Getting up from the floor Glynda saw it was Professor Ozpin who had saved her. The headmaster dashed forward again and knocked the enraged Faunus student who was beating another Faunus student with the brick. The enraged Faunus tried getting up but was stopped by a stream of tiles slamming into them.

The tiles reformed and trapped the enraged Faunus.

Lowering her crop, Glynda ran up to the girl who was attacked. The crying girl held her bleed face. Glynda quickly ripped her skirt and placed it on the wound. "Glynda get her to the cafeteria. Port and the nurse are there attending to the injured." Goodwitch nodded and lifted the crying girl. "What about you?"

"I'm going to find any other student who needs help and send them to the cafeteria after that I'm heading to the city."

The city, if it's this bad inside the school she could only imagine the chaos happening down in the city. Just as Glynda was about to walk away she noticed the blood on his face and neck. "Ozpin you're bleeding."

The headmaster stopped in his tracks. With his back facing her he coldly replied. "It's not mine.

Her eyes widen, "What do you mean it's not…"

Stopping in her tracks Glynda dropped to her knees. In front of her, a motionless body. Her wide eyes stared at the puddle of blood spreading around the body. Glynda's eyes moved from body to find another one not far, then another one, and another. Why is this happening? Just a couple of minutes ago everything was normal then there was that loud roar then… Gripping at her skirt Glynda gritted her teeth.

A comforting hand was placed on her shoulder. "We must go Glynda. There are other students that need our help as well as the people in the city." Ozpin says offering her a hand.

Standing back up Glynda composed herself and grabbed her crop. She needed to get it together, there were people who need her help.

Back in the city Coco ducked under a swing of a cat Faunus and grabbed hold of the Faunus arm and flipped them over. Their body landed with a hard thud before being silked to the ground by Moth.

Yatsuhashi threw two Faunus into more webs of silk. Fox punched one Faunus across the face before kicking them off the feet. Yatsuhashi helped by grabbing the Faunus's leg and throwing them to the silk. The trio saw more charging Faunus coming their way. Taking their stances ready to subdue them only to have Moth fly at great speed and knock them all back into the sticky walls. Mothra flew after more Faunus, she grabbed a Dog Faunus by the collar of their shirt and threw them into a Zebra Faunus silking them both.

She zipped left to right, silking every rampaging Faunus to the floor, wall, car, or tree. Mothra jumped over a Moose Faunus charging at two young Faunus boys and stopped him by the antlers. Her hand gripped the antlers and lifted the Moose Faunus with ease and slammed him onto a car. She silked the Faunus and moved on.

Moth found a large group of Faunus tearing through an old man's store. She landed with skid; her presence did not go unnoticed by the raging Faunus. They let out a rage-like scream before charging at her. Moth raised her arms proceeded to subdue them all.

She caught the claws of one and flipped them over. She then raised her right leg behind and kicked a Faunus in the chest then followed up by throwing the one she had in her grasp into the one she kicked. She grabbed a Faunus who pounced at her by the neck and used her lower arm to punch them in the gut and silk them into another Faunus. She ducked under another pounce and grabbed another Faunus by the arm and kneed them in the chest before kicking them back.

With flawless effort Mothra evaded every attack the raging Faunus threw at her. Mothra's four arms doing impressive work at knocking them out or immobilizing them. As she kicked one Faunus to the floor, she saw a man not far getting beat up by a Bear Faunus while trying to protect their wife and child. Flying in full speed she spun around and delivered a high kick to the Bear Faunus face knocking them back. She turned around to the family. The wife cried as she held her bleeding husband. The little girl looked up at her with free in her eyes. Mothra knelt down, the wife tensed and pushed her daughter behind her. Mothra raise her hands causing the mother to shut her eyes in fear but opened them when she felt how warm they were. Looking up, mother and daughter were both captivated by Mothra's caring blue eyes. Her hands caressing their faces. She looked down at the bleeding father and caressed his face with her third hand. "No sad." Mothra said. "Safe. Help come." Soon after she said that team CFVY came running with more wounds on them. Seeing the three Huntsmen and Huntress come caused the mother to let tears flow down.

"Thank you." She said as she hugged her daughter and husband.

Catching up to Mothra Team CFVY checked on the family. "It's okay we got you." Yatsuhashi assured lifting the husband up.

Fox looked around at all the Faunus that was taken down. "That's some work." He commented.

"Yea, but it's still not enough." Coco said, her eyes landing on several dead bodies both human and Faunus. "There's just too many of them and this city is huge. At this pace, there's going to be a lot of people getting hurt or killed."

Mothra was about to go stop more Faunus when her movements halted. Her eyes widen as a familiar roar was heard by her. Looking up in the sky she said, "Alpha."

Coco heard this and wondered what she was talking about but before she could ask, Mothra expanded her wings and took to the sky. The strong gust of wind blowing Coco and Fox off their feet. Mothra's wing glowed brightly as she neared the clouds. "Where's she going?" Yatsuhashi shouted.

Getting back up Coco replied, "I don't know!"

Mothra's body soon disappeared into the dark clouds. "…You don't think she just left, right?" Fox asked. Coco didn't respond, keeping her eyes focused on the clouds above.

Then from the sky rays of light began to shine through clouds along with a beautiful humming. "Something's happening." As they all looked up more beams of light were seen. The rays and humming from above caught the attention of many if not all of Vale's citizens.

At the entrance of Beacon, Ozpin and Glynda both stared up. "That humming. Could it be…" Ozpin said nothing.

The rays of light became brighter and brighter. Soon after, all the clouds were blown away by a powerful gust of wind nearly knocking everyone off their feet, the dispersed clouds revealing a large golden moth in the sky. In that revelation came a high pitch yet beautiful and powerful roar. The roar and sight of the golden moth captivated all of Vale's citizens.

Ozpin was at a loss of words, never in his life has he seen such beauty. Glynda felt herself become relaxed under the rays of light.

Team CFVY stared up in amazement. From the corner of her eye, Coco noticed something. "Guys look, they're stopping." She told her teammates.

Looking around they saw some of the rampaging Faunus stop. Their attention focused on the scenery above. Fox's eyes returned to the golden light above. "Is she doing this?"

"I think she is." Yatsuhashi replies.

Coco let out a gasp. "Velvet!" Quickly she ran to where they left their teammate. Yatsuhashi motion with his head to follow after her as he was busy helping the bleeding father.

During her run, Coco saw many of the Faunus drop to their knees and begin crying. As if realizing what they did. Arriving where Velvet was subdued Coco saw her partner crying as well. "Velvet." Coco quietly said, reaching out to touch her she stopped and turned around when the light began to disappear.

Up in the sky, Mothra looked down at the city. She could hear it, the cries of all the Faunus that were consumed with rage. Their grief and shame filling the air. Mothra clenched her fists. All because of that tyrant's roar. It destroyed her home and brought death everywhere it went.

Her eyes spotted Coco, Fox, and Velvet. Having spent so long with them, Mothra felt sad in having to leave, but she must. In order to stop it from bringing death once again, she must find Alpha.

Mothra flapped her wings and flew in the direction she heard Alpha's roar come from. She gave one glance to the Kingdom, her mind replaying the memories she made with Team CFVY and Glynda. She hopes they will understand why she left. For this Queen of Monsters had a King to find and a Tyrant to stop.

There you have it everyone Chapter 5 of The Balancers of Mortal. I hope you like it. I might've written this chapter to be too fast, so I apologize for that. It's been a while.

Like I said above I'm going to let this chapter ride out for a week and a half before updating the next one. The next chapter will be an interesting one.

Well take care everyone, I'll see you in the next update.
