Shinobi alliance is on its last steps , Uchiha Madara has all the tailed beasts in his possession , once exhilarated Shinobi alliance who were chanting and roaring with a possible victory in sight after Naruto and Sasuke extracted the bijuus from Obito were losing hopes now , that was the case since a heart shattering news started circulating around the remaining ground forces that the man who has been carrying the battle , the man every single shinobi owed their lives to , Uzumaki Naruto was on the death bed . Hearts were breaking hopes were being lost and the end of the world was looming on the battlefield which was now an unrecognisable patch of barren land spanning miles .

Meanwhile in Naruto's conscience he was having a conversation he never thought he'd have in a million years . There he was in front of him the founder of Ninshu a man reared as god The Sage of Six paths himself .

"So you mean Sasuke and I are some sort of reincarnates of you sons ?"

"That is right Naruto ."

"So why are you telling me this now how does this affect what's happening in the real world please jiji you are strong so send me back I need to protect everybody ."

"That is why I am here Naruto my dear I told you about my mother , if Infinite Tsukuyomi is casted there is a very high chance that she might come back and no one can save this world if that happens I wish I had enough power to lend you so that you can fight but my soul has been here too long , I have lost most of my chakra but there is still a trump card I held in case situations like this arose ."

"What do you mean by trump card jiji ?"

"Naruto my dear I will use all of my remaining chakra and send you back 4 years from today ."

"Heeeh you mean like time travel ."

"Yes and No , I cannot physically send you back but I can send your conscience and all of your memories back to your 13 year old self . Remember my dear there are cost to these things this was my absolutely last resort but seeing the situation this is the only way . The last thing you want to do is create a ripple effect that will drastically change events that could be more harmful there is no good that ever comes from playing with time ."

"Anosa Jiji I don't really catch what you mean to say ."

"You are indeed Ashura's incarnate , in simple terms tell no one the things you know or the events that you know will occur that is the absolute rule if you want to make things right you need to make sure things happen as similarly as they occurred in your knowledge if you change too much unforeseen circumstances will arise that will put you out of control ."

"Do not fret , Kurama and your conscience are linked he experiences what you do so as soon as all your memories enter your old body he will know everything . Now then show me your hands Naruto I leave the rest to you son and Kurama remember I love you and all your brothers ."

Naruto felt chakra rush in his body and he collapsed only to wake up under a starry night . He was in a jungle as his eyes opened with a headache that followed he heard a voice in his conscience "And I love you too Jiji , I promise we will fix things this time ."

"Huh Kurama ! You remember "

"Of course as jiji told you we are linked now we need to have a long talk gaki firstly I think you should do something , look at the campfire ."

Naruto opened his eyes again and looked towards the campfire as tears came to his eyes , he forgot about everything the war , the sage , madara everything and jumped to the man writing in the camp light .

"EROSENNIN" he jumped on him hugging him for dear life .

"Eeeeh gaki what's the matter with you I know the training session was good but it wasn't that good that you pounce me , oh pouncing from behind that gives me an idea ." with that Jiraiya went back to scribbling with a sly smile Naruto was so overjoyed to see that perverted smile again he can now go back to the tree to gather his thoughts .

"Oh yea that's right 4 years ago that means it's my 6th month on the training trip that means –"

"That's right kit you can't stop sasuke yet ." Kurama completed Naruto's trail of thoughts as his face fell before rising in a determined look .

"Not yet but I will this time I'm not making the same mistakes ."

"As jiji said Naruto we only need to make small changes nothing big or we will trigger a landslide , best thing we can do is to work on you to make you much stronger much faster so that you are capable enough to act accordingly . First things first take the key from that pervert and open this fucking cage now that I have memories of how much free space I had , I can't stand this cage any longer , It will be better for you as well , your body is nowhere strong enough to handle my chakra right now like in the future , but when you open the seal I would gradually keep increasing my chakra flow in your body so as you grow strong you will have access to more of my chakra ."

"No that's the second thing first I need to do this shit I am not letting this slide again ."

Naruto took a scroll out of his bag and started writing a letter .

" Baachan It's me Naruto , you see I am training and won't have a chance to take the chunin exams , now you know I am awesome and will be super strong after this trip now you wouldn't want me clapping on those kids in an exam so if there was a way that you can promote me without having to take the exams it would be great , If it helps I would bring you a sake from all villages I visit. "

He tied the scroll and bit his thumb to weave some hand signs " Kuchiyose no Jutsu" A small messenger from appeared and Naruto handed him the scroll " Go to Konoha and give this to the Hokage ." The frog took the stroll and disappeared in a puff .

Next day

"NANIIIIII ! Naruto are you out of your mind and how do even know that I can open the seal or not ."

"Umm yes got it , remember when you tightened my seal before chunin exams and also you said you are just as good at Fuinjutsu as da.. I mean Yondaime ."

"Well just because I can wouldn't mean I would ."

"Oh come on Erosennin I had a talk with the fox he is ready to cooperate ."

"He may be fooling you ."

"Okay how about you loosen the seal and see if he tries to escape if nothing happens then we can open him ."

"Well to be honest I was thinking of doing that but I am not having a good feeling about this ."

"Oh come on erosennin grow a pair I'm telling you we can trust him "

Their conversation was interrupted with a hawk that landed on Naruto's arm with a letter .

"Gaki I was thinking about what you said and I was having the same thought to be honest you would have won the chunin exam anyways if that sake bastard did not show up seeing that gaara defeated sasuke and you defeated him , that being said even as a Hokage I do not have the right to promote you after a year of your last exam only the damiyo can do that but that being said I have a proposal for you , the damiyo recently send me a letter regarding any recommendations for his newly formed assassination unit I can get you in , You and Jiraiya can stay there for the remainder of two years you can train and work for damiyo and if you manage to impress him he can promote you to any rank except Hokage of course , that reminds me if you dare to bribe a Hokage again I will take your headband , but if you want to bring me that gift as a friendly token I can't say no to that and good luck convincing that pervert to stay put for 2 years ."

"Assassination unit huh ?"

"Naruto one thing you definitely need to change about yourself is to stop being soft , I know you don't like to kill but this is the world we live in remember that scene when you were surrounded by hundreds upon hundreds of the dead bodies of your friends ?"

"I know I know you are right I won't take any chances this time ."

"Anosa erosennin actually I have another request ." Naruto said with a sly smile

"I don't like that look."

"What do you think about the capital?"

2 Years late Konohagakure no Sato

Two girls were walking towards the Hokage tower

"Tsunade sama called you too Ino ?"

"Yeah for some reason I was really enjoying chilling at home ."

"Ino you are really becoming lazier by day ." Sakura gave a pensive look to the blond

"Its not my fault forehead , since we became chunins Shika has joined his dad in the strategy department and chouji is taking clan responsibilities so not much for me to do except few missions here and there ."

"That is like the lamest excuse , my teammates aren't even in the village probably not even in the country for all I know still I work hospital whenever I have time ."

"That is because I am not drowning myself in work to stop sulking for the Uchiha forehead ."

"Hey !"

"calm down we are here ." They entered the room with Tsunade sitting in her usual place and a pale boy dressed in all black standing nearby .

"About time you got here , Sakura Ino you will team up with Sai here from root as a chunin squad I will assign you a Jounin taicho and you will carry out missions together ."

"Wait Tsunade sama why now please can't I wait for Naruto and we will get Sasuke back and I can be in a squad with them ."

"Sakura ! you are a leaf chunin you need to serve the village like any other , if and when Sasuke returns we will handle it accordingly for now you are on this squad ."

"But but what about Naruto he will be back soon can't I at least be on a squad with him ."

"Forehead he is still a genin remember plus it will be fun to finally work together and plus we have a kind of cute looking boy on the squad ." she bought her mouth close to Sakura's ears and whispered "btw dibs."

Sakura sighed in defeat as Tsunade handed them the mission scroll . "You are an entire chunin squad with a jounin captain so you would mostly handle B or A and maybe some S rank missions so here your first B rank , some people have filed a complained from a village near the Otogakure border about mass slaughter of many men women and children find out who did this and handle accordingly ."

Sakura took the scroll and as they were leaving Sakura turned to ask a question "Tsunade sama what about our Jounin taichou ?"

Tsunade smirked and responded " He is not in the village , you go ahead you will find him on the location ."

Few hours later the three new squad mates were walking along the road through the forests of Hi no Kuni .

"Forehead what's the matter with him isn't he like too quiet ?"

"I don't know he seems a little weird to me for some reason , let's try to talk to him we are teammates now after all ."

"Hey your are Sai aren't you ?" Sakura finally spoke up .

"Hai "

"Hi I'm Sakura and you can call her Ino although she prefers pig ."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY FOREHEAD !"

As the two fought Sai remembered something he read recently in a book and responded " Nice to meet you pig and forehead I like ugly and loud girls like you , really entertaining ."

Sai received two death glares before getting punched on either sides knocking him cold . "What a jerk " Sakura said cracking her knuckles , "Tell me about it I take my dibs back ."

They went off the main road a while back as they were closing in on the village in question but as they stepped out of the jungle into an open field of grass , a kunai flew at them , Sai was the first to react as he used his anbu blade to knock the Kunai away , as that happened they were surrounded by 5 monster looking humanoids with long nails humped back and towering around 7 feet in height .

"Orochimaru sama was right Konoha sent someone after hearing we slaughtered those insects hahaha ."

"Orochimaru ! " Sakura's ears rose " What do you know about orochimaru tell us now ."

"hahahaha feisty one I see how about I take your mangled half dead bodies to him this was after all his idea to lure Konoha shinobis out so we can take you for info , attack ."

Konoha trio fought the 5 humans/monsters for some time Sai and Sakura were handling 2 each as Ino had 1 on him , Ino being the support on InoShikaCho trio was finding it hard to fight a full blown monster , Sakura was the first to be done with her 2 and jumped to help Ino as sai defeated 1 of the 2 he was handling , the other jumped back seeing Ino sembon her opponent following Sakura,s punch .

The three chunins managed to defeat the 4 monsters but some difficulty and were short of breath .

"I see you are better than you look kids well then we won't hold back LET'S GO ." He spread his hands and 50 more monsters came out of the shrubbery , Konoha trio was sensing real danger here if 5 of them were that difficult to deal with then what would 50 of them do ?

They couldn't ready themselves before 5 of them attacked the trio tried to fight but were caught off guard and already tired , Sai was kicked into the forest as Ino was thrown back with force , She was on her knees as one of them rushed onto her for a full power punch , Ino wanted to dodge but her legs were still feeling the previous attack , "So I guess this is it for me ."

As Ino saw her death approaching like a freight train a flash was seen coming out of the woods and the punch stopped a metre away from her she looked up and saw a blond boy cupping the monster's hand in his palms , he had long blond hairs that dropped over his eyes , he wore a grey t shirt over black shinobi pants with a black cape cloak that covered him till his knees and had black gloves which exposed the fingers .

(For Naruto's new look you can see adult Boruto's get up from his fight vs Kawaki in the first scene or the dp of this story or basically its adult Sasuke's look to be precise )

Naruto palmed that punch that was coming at full force , the shinobi high on curse mark could not believe he stopped it without even flinching he was trying to get his hand free from Naruto's grasp but couldn't just then he received a kick in his stomach that send his blood erupting from his mouth as he flew back breaking his spine hitting into three trees breaking them as well before coming to a stop .

Everybody was shell shocked as all fighting seized to stop all eyes on the blond boy , Naruto turned around to see if Ino was fine , he gave her his typical grin "You alright there Ino ?"

Ino was still spellbound as she still couldn't process what happened and also the way this blond boy saved her life and was giving her a smile with his cloak flying in the air made him look like a superhero or something unknowing to Ino a light blush appeared on her .

"You know my name ? you- wait NARUTO ?" Ino's eyes widened

"NARUTO" Sakura jammed into Naruto giving him a hug Naruto felt so happy seeing her again his last memory before going blank was a crying face of Sakura trying to pour her chakra on Gaara's sand trying to save him .

"Its been so long Sakura chan ."

"Naruto you – wait Naruto these guys they –"

"I know they slaughtered those villagers you sit back Sakura chan heal Ino and Sai I put him there resting against the tree I'll handle these guys ."

"No Naruto they are too strong and too many you get Sai Ill get Ino we will create an opening and retreat for now ." Naruto just looked at her smiling then turned to the group with a stern look

"Daijob Sakura chan just give me a few minutes ."

Before Sakura could respond Naruto took out his katana and surged some chakra into it the katana started shining a bright purple colour that was so bright it outshone the surrounding sunlight . The tinge of purple now spread across the field and only thing audible was the leaves blowing with the wind and crackling sound of the purple lightning .

"N..Naruto you know raiton ?"

"Well Sakura chan its kurama's purple raiton but I suppose you could say that ."

"Oe gaki eyes here you think you can defeat Orochimaru sama's mighty army with some sparkling –" He couldn't finish his sentence , one moment he was talking to the boy 20 metres away the next second he sees a purple flash and a 3 foot long purple blade in his chest and sticking out of his back . "Kisa..ma.." was his last word .

That was the cue as all of the remaining force exploded on to Naruto . Naruto dodged all of their moves while cutting them off with his katana one by one , he jammed his blade into one while jumping an attack from 2 others he jabs a kunai into one's brain then retrieves it next second while jamming it in the one behind him he kept dodging and dancing them while cutting them down one by one with his ration katana .

Ino and Sakura just watched in awe as most of what they could perceive with their eyes but mostly all they saw were flashes of purple dancing at high speed and limbs flowing out of the huddle .

Naruto retrieved his sword from the last guy's stomach while wiping the blood off his body .

"Oh boy what a mess ." he walked to Sakura and Ino who had their jaws on the floor never had they seen a blend of elegant and gruesome pulled off to that magnitude . "Ne Sakura chan so how's Ino leg ."

"I..Its..It looks like a cramp i think but Naruto what the hell was that you just cut these guys up like a vegetable ."

"Ya I know sorry for the gory display I just came back from the village and saw what they did to elderly and children I couldn't hold back ."

Ino finally spoke up " But when did you get so strong and badass?"

"Hahaha last 2 years I guess ." said Naruto rubbing the backof his head.

"Wow Naruto that was awesome hey and thanks for saving my life ."

"No mention Ino "

"So you are Uzumaki Naruto ?" said Sai walking up to the group

"Hey Sai what's up you alright there?" "Why is he being so friendly with me and how does he know my name ?"

"Naruto how do you know his name ." asked Ino

"Baachan , I should at least know the names of my team right ."

"Wait your team ? Dont tell me you are our Jounin taichou ?" asked a surprised Ino

"When the hell did you become a jounin ? " Sakura chimed in

"Oh that I guess you can thank damiyo for it ."

"Wait wait I have so many questions right now ."

"Questions can wait Sakura chan first lets get Ino back to Konoha before more of those idiots come sniffing ."

He didn't care to ask and picked Ino up bridal style , Ino wrapped her hands around his neck with a slight blush as the new Konoha team started on the way back .
