Demon Slayer AU

Shinobu was gripping her haori tightly in her hands to keep from lashing out and was doing her best to keep her smile on her face although it was badly strained. She and Giyuu had gone and saved their kids, wait no they weren't really her kids but…but they were hers, from the Lower Moon on the Mountain but her son was badly injured and now they were at a trial for him and his sister and she wanted nothing more than to beat the shit out of the others who were making his injuries worse or giving him new ones.

Her son was currently tied down and being held down painfully by her snake using comrade while the wind Hashira had grabbed Nezuko's box and-

Shinobu's mind went blank as she heard a muffled cry of pain. She stood up and was moving just as Giyuu got the others off of Tanjiro who slammed his head into Sanemi and knocked the other Hashira away.

"Nezuko are you okay? Nezuko!" Tanjiro was calling for his sister to make some kind of noise to affirm that she's alright.

"Giyuu!" Shinobu said immediately catching Tanjiro in her arms to untie the rope while Giyuu appeared beside her and took the box their daughter was in, getting it into the shaded tatami room and was opening it.

"Are you alright Nezuko?" Giyuu's voice was soft and calm as Nezuko got out of her box and there was a small bloodstain on her shoulder. The other Hashira were tense and about to move to slaughter her as she dove at Giyuu, but they froze when she wrapped her arms around him and just snuggled into him looking scared.

"There there. It's alright. I'm here…I'm here and so is mama. See? She's checking on Tanjiro." Giyuu said softly as he rubbed the girls back while she turned her head to the side and looked over at her brother. She brightened up immediately and let go of Giyuu with one hand as she made a grabby hand at Tanjiro and Shinobu.

"Sir may we-" Shinobu at least asked for permission first from Kagaya who nodded his head.

"Of course. I am sorry that he hurt Nezuko-chan, I wasn't expecting him to do such a thing before I could even talk about why she's here or anything." Kagaya said bowing his head briefly to Shinobu who was helping support Tanjiro into the tatami room and over to Nezuko who latched onto her brother with one arm and the other hand grabbed Shinobu's haori tightly.

"Thank you sir. It's not your fault they jumped the gun." Giyuu said glaring slightly at the other Hashira even as he wrapped his arms around his small family while Shinobu fussed and fretted over Nezuko's stab wound which had already healed up, and then began fussing over Tanjiro's own injuries before both of the children and Giyuu had their arms around her. Which made her relax a bit and wrap her arms around the two younger ones, kissing their heads.

"After the meeting we need to get you to medical and taken care of. You'll be in rehabilitation training for at least a little while and you get to spend time with your aunt Kanao again. She's looking forward to seeing you both again." Shinobu said and Nezuko made a happy noise behind her gag, making Shinobu tut a bit and remove the gag for a moment. The other Hashira jerked in alarm but Nezuko just beamed and nuzzled into Shinobu who kissed her head again.

"…Did Giyuu call you their mom?" Tengen asked blinking slowly as he looked at the four of them while Shinobu nodded.

"Giyuu and I were sent on an assignment together almost three years ago to try and learn how to work together better. We came across these two just…just after Tanjiro-kun found the rest of his family slaughtered by a demon. Nezuko-chan was the only one still warm and he tried to get her to a doctor but she transformed…we were ready to kill her to try and save him but…but she didn't hurt him or bite him. Instead she was crying and she tried protecting him from us, even to the point where she kicked us away after Giyuu knocked Tanjiro out and protectively covered him. They impressed us…when they woke up Giyuu was sending them to be trained in Water Breathing but Tanjiro had hurt his leg during everything so we went with them to make sure they'd stay safe…we got attached." Shinobu said without looking at any of the other pillars.

"You don't know heartbreak until you see a kid have to bury his family, including a younger sibling not even five yet. As far as we're concerned, Tanjiro and Nezuko both are our children and have been since we found them…And we don't like it when someone hurts our kids." Giyuu said his eyes narrowing and a protective dark rage emitting from his form as he glared at Sanemi and Iguro who both looked surprised and a bit nervous at the rage he was aiming at them.

"If you all would have waited instead of jumping the gun I would have explained that Nezuko has never once eaten of a human and in fact protects humans. I have met her several times and trust her enough to leave her alone with my children unguarded." Kagaya said looking at his other Hashira in disappointment while they all jaw dropped even as Kiriya made his way to Nezuko who picked him up and nuzzled him happily while he smiled and gave a soft giggle.

"Mhm! Nezuko-nee-chan and Tanjiro-onii-san give the best head pats and hugs. And Tanjiro-onii-san did his family's traditional fire dance for us too when we asked!" Kiriya said nodding his head while Tanjiro gave a small smile and rubbed Kiriya's head as Nezuko nuzzled the boy.

"Amane is also quite fond of the two of them. She will be most displeased with the way you all are treating them." Kagaya chuckled thinking of how his wife was likely to react to the other Hashira's treatment of the two.

"Shinobu, Giyuu. Take them to medical and see to your children. I need to have a talk with the others about jumping to conclusions and letting their bias get in the way."
