pjofan1546 asked: Hi! I just wanted to say that I saw that you started posting again and I'm so glad that you're back and hope you're doing well. Second I was hoping for a super fluffy moment with the twins and Klaus and maybe Caroline and/or Hope walking in on it. Thank you for your time!
"I want to be a princess!"
"Make me a dragon! No, wait, I want to ride a unicorn!"
Caroline awoke slowly, confused as to why the girls weren't tucked in next to her. They sounded perfectly happy from the next room, but three-year-olds weren't exactly known for their stealth. For them to have slipped out of bed without her noticing, the lack of rest must have finally caught up with her and knocked her out. She relaxed into the pillow and let her eyes flutter shut again, confident as she was that Klaus would keep them safe.
Klaus.
She jumped to her feet to follow their voices down the hallway, barely letting herself mind the rumple of pajamas she'd had to borrow. The soft Henley was comforting. The mansion was imposing and dark, and a hellish hunter was after her — she needed all the comfort she could get.
The nearest door was wide open, allowing sunlight to stream through along with the girls' giggles. She flashed in, ready to remove them from whatever expensive antiques were surely about to be demolished, only to find them jostling for Klaus's attention as he set up an easel. "Good morning," she greeted, her inflection tilting up in confusion.
"Mommy!" Josie bounded toward her to wrap her in a hug, but Lizzie was tugging Klaus down to whisper mischievously in his ear.
"Hi, babies," she answered, swooping Josie up into her arms as she watched Klaus nod in a solemn vow. "What are you all doing without me?"
Lizzie bounced on her toes. "Mr. Klaus paints, Mommy! Did you know that?"
She blinked up at Klaus, unable to fight the blush at his knowing smirk. "I did. He even drew me a horse, once upon a time."
Gasping, Josie lifted a dramatic little hand to her heart. "Like a fairy tale!"
"Does that make me a Prince Charming, love?"
Though she did run to him for rescuing, Caroline wasn't about to let that slide. "Let's see you paint princesses and unicorns first," she challenged, settling on a nearby sofa. A sadness welled up in her as Josie ran back over to Lizzie and they conspired together. "We can talk stories later."
His gaze met hers with concern, but he graciously didn't push the issue. Nodding, he turned to where the girls were waiting. "Alright then, who's first?"
