AU. It was just supposed to be a routine patrol, open a Mass Relay survey the system and report anything useful. Instead of finding a garden world or a deposit of Element Zero or Metals instead, they found a ship that no one recognises and a huge headache and technology which will change the Systems Alliance and humanity forever.

Lt. Commander Shepard, White Death of Elysium, borderline pariah, new commander the SSV Normandy. Hackett tasks her with the thankless, redaction-heavy missions N7s train for. Along the way she forms an unlikely band of misfits into a highly effective army, and discovers just how thin the galaxy's veneers of normalcy are. (An AU/"Reaper-free" TV-Show-format series.)

Commander Shepard is the sole survivor with a synthetic sole, among other augmentations due to the Akuze incident. She's suppressed her emotions and ignored persuasions to retire in her willingness to continue her tour of duty, relying on medication to help with her nightmares and the phantom pains that have persisted. People think it's determination. It's just a distraction.

Set in the Mass Effect universe with slight alterations. I do not own anything about Mass Effect.

After the Reapers are destroyed, Shepard and Tali try to find each other again, reliving memories along the way. Note - This is my first foray into fanfic writing, and this is a little unorthodox. Wrex's contract into Fist leads him to a new opportunity with a Spectre. He never really thought about any relationships or mates due to the genophage but he's drawn to Shepard. She's a fierce warrior who doesn't take crap from anyone. Their relationship remains platonic but it's a struggle with their sexual tension that could never bloom. Her love for Liara makes things difficult

The war was over and though Garrus was finally reunited with Shepard it came with a big surprise. Twin turian-human babies, Caius and Catia. Though their lives will prove as a challenge to navigate through they at least have each other to rely on.

Vetra and Sidera Nyx land on the frontier planet of Mirrard looking to settle down and find a lasting place to call their own. But unbeknownst to them an act of mercy threatens to kill them all after a chance meeting with a member of a clan with a major grievance against Turians. "I did it because you hated them more than you loved me."

HMS Isaac Newton and HMS Alexander Fleming open the Shanxi Relay. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. The following course of events would lead to Humanity's first hot war in over a century, a war which could have exploded into full on Interspecies Total War, assuming of course the various human nations could even agree on anything.
