Probe Izuku

Izuku notices that the sparkling student waiting to run the 50 meter dash had a very similar device over his stomach. It was flat and reflective compared to Izuku's concave dish with a blue glow. The rest was colored differently as well with Izuku's gold armor to the boy's silver.

Before Izuku could speculate the other similarities, the student uses their quirk to fire some kind of laser but with recoil to propel himself halfway across the sprint before falling on his back, standing and then repeating the process to finish.

'Unfortunate, I would have liked to meet someone with a similar quirk to mine.' Izuku thinks sadly as he watches the next pair move to the start. 'Why go in pairs? The competition might help some, but the splash from some quirks may hinder others.'

As Izuku ponders this he is called up with the perfect example of why pairs are a bad idea, Bakugo.

Before he walks to the start Izuku turns and summons a wormhole at his location, shocking the surrounding students who give it and him a wide berth.

"It's harmless." Izuku says in his most reassuring tone. "As long as you don't touch it."

"Prepare to see how your useless quirk isn't good enough to stay here." Bakugo snarls as Izuku wanders into position, the angle of Bakugo's right hand suspiciously wide.

Before the start could be called the wormhole disappears and a massive crystal takes its place, ringed by a similar gold metal to Izuku's armor and somehow floating unsupported.

This caused even more strange looks and confusion as many wondered how this massive crystal could help someone run 50 meters.

As the starting gun fires they learn, as Izuku simply disappears and reappears next to the finish, completing his 'run' in under a second.

"Cheating nerd." Bakugo grumbles as he stalks back to the class.

As the class moves to begin the grip test Izuku walks to the side and summons an even larger wormhole near the crystal. As he walks back, the nice girl from the entrance exam walks over and asks: "what is that crystal thing anyway?"

"That is a pylon. A simple structure that provides power to nearby structures and coordinates for warping units." Izuku explains.

"And what is the new building?" the girl asks as it materializes and it's tall spires begin splitting apart.

"That is a gateway, it's transforming into its warp gate mode. That allows it to send units into a pylons power field." Izuku says with growing enthusiasm.

As the building finishes transforming a familiar wormhole appears in between the spires and a massive humanoid appears in a flash of light.

"This warrior awakens." the construct says with a robotic tone.

"Sentinel, grip this device with all your might." Izuku commands.

"Executing." The sentinel says before proceeding to break the testing device easily just as a girl with a black ponytail does the same with a vice she created.

"I am giving you both infinity, since I don't have any other testers." Aizawa says tiredly.

The class soon moves on to the standing long jump. While Izuku had several ideas to complete this in style he decided to just use his ability to float. Repeating side steps was just as unexciting as warping himself from side to side would have been slower than just doing it normally.

As the class walked back to the ball throwing area, Izuku's mind filtered through many ideas. He could warp in an immortal and use their cannon, a good idea but it felt like it was done before for some reason. He considered bringing in an air unit, but summoning a stargate would take time. Finally, as his name was called, just after nice girl sent a ball into space, he had a plan.

Once he entered the circle he created another wormhole, it was around the same size as the pylon wormhole but its structure arrived quickly. A flat disk on the ground with a raised cylindrical emitter. Izuku casually places the ball on the emitter, targets some space debris and fires. A pale blue orb leaves the emitter with the ball inside and rises off into the distance.

"Another infinity." Aizawa sighs, internally cursing the equipment lost forms he needed to file later.

The class was quick to voice their astonishment at the results. Some wondering how such a dominant quirk hadn't been recommended or been number one on the entrance exam.

These comments were interrupted by a loud explosion and a voice from Izuku's armor: "Our warriors have engaged the enemy."

A second explosion reveals Bakugo assaulting the sentinel, who was standing there wondering why an 'ally' was attacking him.

A third and fourth explosion causes the sentinel to collapse into pieces.

"Your next nerd!" Bakugo shouts but his ensuing charge is stopped in its tracks by Aizawa's scarf.

"What do you think you are doing?" Aizawa asks angrily. But before Bakugo could respond the sentinels' parts glow orange and reconnect.

"The enemy shall be purified!" the sentinel says aggressively, lighting it's blades. Only a quick glare from Izuku stopped it from charging in.

"Bakugo, mindless violence like that will not be tolerated in this class. If a hero is seen doing that the public may assume you are a villain." Aizawa lectures. "Don't make me explain this again." he adds.

The distance run was another dominant event for Izuku, as the sentinel didn't tire and could easily carry him. Izuku enjoyed a casual conversation with the ponytailed girl who introduced herself as Momo Yaoyorozu. He technically won as the sentinel performed a charge as Aizawa called time, but both of them just received an infinity.

Unfortunately for Izuku his luck ran out at this point and he performed relatively poorly in the seated toe-touch and sit ups, his armored core being completely inflexible.

"An impressive performance." Momo says as they leave the field.

"Indeed, ms second place." Izuku responds.

"You two are too strong." Ochako complains.

"Says the only other person with an infinity." Izuku retorts.

"Still." Ochako grumbles. "Your quirks are strong."

"Indeed, what exactly is yours Midoriya?" Momo asks.

"It's a mutation type with an emitter component I call warp armor. I use the emitter on the front to open wormholes to a sub dimension where buildings and units are created. It can also zap people quite powerfully." Izuku explains. "I can also control anything I summon."

"A mutation type?" Momo asks, "So Mr. Aizawa can't cancel it?"

"He may be able to stop me from opening wormholes, but I think once they have started he can't stop them." Izuku says thoughtfully.

"Honestly that's a relief." Momo says, "I thought you just had a better version of my quirk, but now I know it's different. Though maybe I could create one of those sentinels with some help."

"I would love to help. It would be interesting to say the least." Izuku agrees.

"Wormholes are gravity things right?" Ochako asks.

"In a way, yes." Momo answers.

"Maybe my quirk can evolve to make them?" Ochako asks softly.

"Probably not, but you can still join us. It's not like we will only talk about quirks in the future." Momo says kindly.

"I will!" Ochako agrees.

AN: And that's a wrap. It's not much different from purifier Izuku, but it has more potential in a way. Izuku basically looks like he has a SC2 probe on his waist/stomach. I had a look if there were any probe cosplays out there as an example but I couldn't find any... I personally believe pylons are nerfed for gameplay reasons, if a unit can be warped to one, then they can be warped again. it would be way to OP though, having your army at any pylon.

In other news, July was a bad month for me, but I hope August will be better and I can write more.
