Today is Izumi's first day in U.A High School, she made sure that she has everything she needs for it. Hero Analysis Notebooks? She brought two with one notebook being blank for her new classmates. Quirk Analysis? She has one with her that contains her quirk combinations. She has everything.
Despite this, she is stopped by one thing.
Seriously? You don't know how to tie a tie? Mikumo leered at Izumi who hopelessly tried to tie her tie for her uniform. It was an embarrassment to see Izumi being a failure when it comes to normal things, like tying a tie.
"Shut up..." Izumi muttered in embarrassment, her attempts at tying a tie falling no matter what. She is trying so hard to learn how to tie in order to save her non-existent pride.
You know, we have a quirk that allows us to beat anyone. We can give quirks to everyone we like and the ability to combine quirks together to defeat everyone that tries to hurt us. And somehow, you don't know how to tie a fucking tie. I don't know if I should feel embarrassed or amused. Mikumo continued as she watched as Izumi tried different ways to tie her tie.
"Shut up..! I bet you don't know how to tie a tie either!" Izumi almost yelled at her split personality, not wanting to hear any more from her. It was already hard enough to ignore failures when someone watching her do this personally.
A giggle can be heard behind her as her tie glows green as the piece of clothing starts to tie up itself. Izumi turns around to see her mom smiling at her failure.
"Maybe I should have taught you how to tie a tie." Inko smiles at the red-face Izumi who could only glare at the mischievous mother.
Izumi loves her mother dearly but she refuses to be mocked by her. She knows that her mom is just being playful but it's infuriating nonetheless.
"Haha, I guess," Izumi replied sarcastically while making sure that she didn't miss anything she needed for her first day.
Inko grinned as she undoes the tie and grabbed it with her quirk, causing Izumi to glare at her.
"We have enough time to spare anyway, how about I teach you how to tie a tie?" Izumi pouted at her mother, not pleased at Inko's actions, and attempt to embarrassed her.
But she has no choice but accepts her offer, Izumi looked at her mother with embarrassment. "Yes please..." She said with shame as Inko grabbed the floating tie with her hand and showed Izumi how to knot a tie.
"What if everybody is the same?" Izumi said to herself in fear as she stood before the giant door that leads to the classroom with the label on the front that said 1-A.
It's been too long since she went to school, being homeschooled for the majority of her youth after the incident with the elementary school. Naturally, Izumi is afraid of talking to people her age.
"Come on Izumi, don't be a coward!" Mikumo appears beside the door, leaning on it with her back. The greenette frowns as she notices that her split personality is wearing the same uniform as her, down to her favorite red shoes.
Mikumo looked at Izumi with a strange expression. "What? I just want to try something new, that's all." She said with a sly smile on her face. Izumi could only sigh since there's nothing she can do about it.
She recollects her thoughts, wanting to be mentally prepared for anything that happens behind the giant door.
"Okay, I can do it. As long as Kacchan and that boy from the presentation aren't in the same class that I'm in, I can socialize with anyone without a problem." Izumi braced herself for potential disaster and opened the door leading to the classroom.
And she immediately regrets it at the sight of Katsuki who is scowling at the boy that embarrassed her from the presentation weeks ago.
Izumi could do nothing but feel fear as Katsuki starts a rant about elitists. "I must have done something horrible in my past life..." She despaired as the ash-blonde noticed her and stopped his rant.
"Fucking Deku..!" He growled as he stood up only for the tallboy to suddenly move towards Izumi at shocking speeds.
"You with the unruly hair! I must apologize for being short-sighted in the main goal, you did what any hero could do while I did nothing but run away! You are a far better hero than me! Forgive me for my rudeness!" He apologized while making a robotic gesture with his left arm.
His genuine regret surprised Izumi. "O-oh, it's okay. I wasn't mad at you." She stuttered at the larger boy, she was not prepared for him to apologize at all.
"Then let's introduce ourselves, my name is Tenya Iida!" Tenya states while waiting for Izumi to respond.
"Midoriya Izumi, nice to meet you." She greets the bespectacled boy with a nervous tone.
"What the fuck are you doing Deku!? I told you to stay the fuck away from U.A!" Katsuki butted in, trying to push the bespectacled boy away only for him to meet resistance much to his shock.
"You're training to be a hero with that behavior!?" Iida said with indignation, shocked and slightly disgusted at Bakugou's behavior.
"Shut up you elitist! Just because you're rich doesn't mean you can look down on me!" The explosive boy yelled out, angering Iida at his words.
"Can you two please stop fighting…" Izumi said with embarrassment, aware that everyone in the classroom is looking at the scene surrounding her. This is not the disaster she was afraid of but is certainly close to what she imagined it could've been.
She took note of each of her classmates, noticing that some of them seemed to have quirks that altered their appearance. Izumi immediately noticed Todoroki Shouto, sitting in a chair without any care.
As I expected, Todoroki is in U.A training to become a hero. Izumi thought, knowing that she needed to talk to him but decided that this was not the right time.
"What's going on here?" Izumi turned around to see the surprised Ochako and Melissa who just looked at the commotion.
Izumi is pleasantly surprised at the sight, realizing that maybe this could go well. "Oh! You guys made it!" She exclaimed, causing both boys to look at the girls.
"Are you just gonna stand and socialize? Irrational, we have better things to do." Everyone in the classroom looked at Aizawa who was standing behind Ochako and Melissa, scaring Melissa at his sudden appearance while Ochako just looked at him with surprise.
"That was you on the floor?" Aizawa ignores Ochako's question, hiding his surprise that she noticed him before revealing himself.
"Wear these and meet me at the gym in ten minutes…" He said calmly as he showed the class the gym uniform, confusing anyone with his sudden words except Izumi who understood what he meant.
"What about the ceremony?" Iida exclaimed at the sudden instructions.
"It's pointless and it wastes valuable time, now get going." Shouta looks at the boy with a stern look on his face.
Everyone proceeds to walk out of the classroom in confusion, Aizawa quickly stops Bakugou from walking towards Izumi.
Aizawa looked at Bakugou with a serious expression on his face. "If you tried to say anything about her quirk, I will expel you…" Katsuki looked at the tired man in shock and was about to shout in a rage only to get silenced as Aizawa's eyes turned red.
"Quirk discrimination is unacceptable in this class, you will be expelled faster than you could scream fuck if you so much as to say one word about her quirk." The ash-blonde wilted at Aizawa's words and joined his classmates in silent rage.
"I knew this was a bad idea…" Aizawa couldn't but groan as he applied eye drops to ease his sore eyes, he did not want the explosive boy in his class but Vlad King didn't want him so Nedzu had to place Katsuki in 1-A since no one wants him.
"Dammit, Izumi, why do you have to have a bad taste in boys… I thought you were better than that…" Eraserhead grumbled at the fact that this year is not going to be nice for him, it would be so much easier if he just expelled the entire class (except Izumi who have potential and understanding that everything is unfair) to teach them the lesson of unfairness just like he did with Class 2-A but it would be unreasonable to not see their capabilities first.
"No matter, I will judge them and see if they have potential. If not, I just scare them to work harder by expelling them." Shouta smiles sadistically.
Izumi looks at the entire classmate with the burning desire to know their quirks, she already knows about Katsuki's quirk personally but she doesn't know everyone's quirks except Todoroki who just stands away from his classmates. The sight made Izumi concerned, already aware of the true history behind Shouto's family.
"A minute late, unacceptable. I expect that all of you will improve from that after a year." Aizawa said with disappointment, causing most to flinch at his words.
"The ministry of education banned the usage of quirks in physical exercise to create an illusion that everyone is equal, that is irrational. Midoriya, You have the highest record in the practical exam. Take this ball and throw it as far as you could with your quirk in the red circle." He explained before throwing a ball at Izumi.
"Yes, sensei." She grabs the ball and thinks through every quirk combination she could use.
I could just use my Air Cannon technique but I kinda want to try something new. Izumi thought to herself of any combination until an idea popped into her head.
"Plasma Blast, Durability Touch," Izumi mutters as green energy starts to collect around her hand while a bright red aura emitted around the ball upon the touch of all five fingers.
Boom She thought to herself amusingly as the bright green energy surrounds her hands and a bright explosion emitted beneath her palm, launching the ball far.
Aizawa looks at the device he's holding, numbers getting higher and higher until it reaches 1.6 kilometers.
"Knowing the limits of your abilities and how versatile they can be is the base of any hero. Those who focus solely on one aspect of their abilities have no potential and will live shortly in their career…" Everyone stayed quiet at the grim and serious voice from Aizawa, some of them flinching at the last part of his sentence.
"That was so manly." A redhead exclaimed in excitement, impressed at Izumi's performance.
"That was quite beautiful to look at!" A flamboyant praised Izumi for her choice of quirks.
"That looks fun!" The words cause Izumi to look at the pink-skinned girl with worry in her eyes, fully aware that this is Aizawa's chance to scare the entire class.
"Fun? Are you expecting to have fun being a pro hero? To have a carefree life in the next three years in this class?" Shouta activates his quirk, giving a sense of dread to everyone in the class.
"Well then, how about this? The last place will immediately be expelled from the U.A." He declared, smirking at the reactions the class will soon have.
True to his thoughts, the class gawked at the homeroom teacher with horror and shock except for a few students.
"W-what?!" Almost all of them exclaimed.
"S-sensei! That doesn't sound fair! We already proved ourselves in the entrance exams!" Iida exclaimed in horror, now scared of his homeroom teacher.
"Fair? There's one thing that all of you expect, is that life isn't fair. Can natural disasters be fair? Is being trapped in rubble waiting for a rescue fair? The truth is that every hero will be facing unfair situations no matter what." Aizawa glared at the class, raising his eyebrows for a bit at the nod of understanding from Ochako.
His eyes went back to normal, smirking at the scared class.
"So, shall we begin the quirk assessment test?"
Trial 1: 50-meter dash
The fifty-meter run is very easy for Izumi to do, she has a lot of quirks that allow her to get first place in the run. The main question is what type of quirk she should use, too bad Katsuki is standing right next to her.
Shouta is questioning himself if Izumi has bad luck because it seems like she keeps having pretty shitty situations that involve Bakugou for some reason, maybe he should stop picking pairs in this test at random.
Both Izumi and Katsuki prepare to use their quirks to reach first place.
With the loud noise that signals the start of the race, they both went flying.
Katsuki uses his explosion to propel himself towards the finish line while Izumi activates a flying quirk to reach the line faster than the ash-blonde could despite the fact he tried to accidentally hit the girl.
Izumi flies past the line with unbelievable speed, getting 1.02 seconds on the monitor while Katsuki grits his teeth as he watches as the monitor shows his score being lower compared to Izumi's score.
"...That fucking bitch..." She flinched at his words.
"What type of quirk does she have? I saw her create an energy wave and run very fast..." A boy with yellow hair wondered as he looked at Izumi's performance.
The greenette witnesses Ochako getting 3.43 seconds by using Zero Gravity on herself and using her surprisingly strong legs without even using One For All to float towards the finish line while Melissa gets 3.51 seconds by creating metal boots and levitating.
That girl created a motorbike from her body! What an amazing quirk! Izumi thought to herself, watching in awe as the raven-haired girl used the bike. It's amazing to see so many quirks in one place and she can analyze all of them without a problem.
Melissa and Ochako prove themselves to be very good at using their quirks, especially Melissa with her inventions tied with the girl who created the bike earlier.
"That pink girl's quirk is also interesting. Can she create other chemicals besides acid though?" Mikumo appears beside Izumi as she inspects the entire class.
Izumi frowned at her split personality before ignoring Akatani in favor of focusing on doing the test.
Trial 2: Grip Test
It was an embarrassing test for her since she nearly destroyed the machine with four strength quirks, gaining looks from her classmates with widened eyes. Shocked that Izumi's record beats the multi-armed boy's score with 1741g on the nearly broken device.
"Damn, that girl is so strong. Her quirk is so powerful."
"She is someone to watch out for..." Todoroki stared at Izumi with observant eyes, paying close attention to her.
"Normally I would say that you should go all out Midoriya but I don't want to waste time replacing that machine." Aizawa deadpanned at the embarrassed Izumi who wanted to disappear from all the looks she was getting from her classmates.
"Uraraka, you're next." His words cause Ochako to look at her hand in determination, fully aware that this is the time to truly test if she can withstand One For All.
Ochako approached the machine while pink electricity coursed through her left hand, she placed her hand on the handles and applied pressure to it.
The monitor on the machine brightens up, showing 567g which causes the class to look at Ochako with surprise.
"You're next Shield." Melissa looks at Aizawa with a smile on her face.
"I always wondered how much pressure I can apply with this technique." She said before creating three metal plates that flew towards the handle of the machine and compressed them together, getting 524g on the monitor.
Aizawa looked impressed at the display, he was not expecting that Melissa would do that.
Trial 3: Standing Long Jump
This was a simple test for Izumi, she just used two quirks that allowed her to propel herself towards the air and fly, getting her the highest score alongside Uraraka who used the same trick but with a small burst of One For All to boost her jump.
"Huh. Maybe this is a good time to test something out..." Melissa said to herself as it's her turn to jump.
Without warning, Melissa sprints and creates a long pole that allows her to propel herself forward.
Before she could fall to the ground, the pole splits into multiple small platforms that fly around her. Melissa places her foot downwards, causing a platform to fly underneath. Allowing her to step on it and have the platforms to create a path for her to walk towards the end.
Everyone looks at Melissa with awe, even Aizawa is shocked at her ingenuity as Melissa steps on each platform towards the end which got her first place.
Trial 4: Sustained Side Jumps
The trial was uneventful since Izumi just used one quirk to make the ground soft and elastic, allowing her to keep jumping without fail. However, her classmates are baffled at the sight.
"She's strong, fast, can fly, can shoot energy blasts, and she makes the ground soft? How is this possible?" A boy with bright yellow hair commented at the sight.
"It's like she has more than one quirk." A girl with frog-like features states, causing Izumi to wince at her words.
Don't worry Izumi, you have a good lie to cover your quirk's true capabilities. She reassured herself as she kept jumping until Aizawa told her to stop.
Trial 5: Ball Throw
Izumi already did this trial so she was exempted, she looks at her classmates as each one throws the ball.
She didn't expect to see Melissa creating a massive ballista. She must have taken note after seeing a cannon being used, Ironworks can only create metal so I guess Mellisa is more limited than the girl who created the cannon.
Melissa smiles as she places the ball on the pad where it presumably gets shot to air. "The maximum distance a ballista can reach is 460 meters but this model will perform far better than a traditional ballista." She states as she pulls the trigger.
The ball was launched to the air with great velocity causing the monitor on Aizawa's hands to light up and show that the ball reached 860 meters.
Katsuki was next and he glared at the greenette with anger.
"I am going to beat you and your score Deku." He said before throwing the ball with his quirk, the explosion caused many to cover their ears at the loud noise.
Everyone looked at the monitor which showed 684.2 meters, causing Bakugou to growl in anger.
"Dammit! Fucking Deku!" He yelled, earning worried looks from class 1-A at his words.
"What's his problem?" A pink-skinned girl said, scoffing at the childish display.
"Get out of the circle Bakugou, you're wasting time. Uraraka, you're next." The explosive boy leaves the circle out of anger as Ochako walks towards it.
Aizawa gives the ball to Ochako who smiles as she places all five fingers on the ball and releases it, the ball glows pink and it starts to float towards the sky. Everyone waited for the ball to fall but that doesn't seem to happen.
"We're not getting that ball back..." Aizawa mutters as he shows the class the monitor that shows an infinity symbol, getting everyone to look at the sheepish Ochako with shock.
Trial 6: Endurance Run
The raven-haired girl was able to beat nearly everyone with her scooter except Melissa who created a metal skateboard and simply matches the girl in the trial. Both of them tied with Izumi being in second place.
Izumi is amazed at the sight, Mellisa and the other girl show that they have the creativity to work with.
That quirk is so much better than I imagined, that scooter even came with gas which is amazing! And Ironworks is proving itself to be an amazing quirk with a mind that Shield has! Mikumo appeared, observing the girl that made the vehicle.
I want to know what her limits are! Is she limited by her stamina? Lipids? Can she create anything? How did Mellisa figure out how to create items with complex mechanisms? Izumi muttered as ideas came into her head at the potential of quirk like that.
Trial 7: Seated Toe-Touch
It was fairly a simple exercise, Izumi didn't really need a quirk for this since she's flexible without a quirk. She got third place, behind Ochako who is in second and a pink-skinned girl in first.
Trial 8: Sits up
Another exercise where Izumi didn't need to use a quirk since she occasionally trained her body and stamina so she did well, getting second while Ochako got first place.
The large majority of Class 1-A looked at the blank monitor with worry and fear, waiting for the monitor to show the scoreboard and the expulsion to whoever gets the last place.
Aizawa smiles as he presses the button that shows the results.

"You know what? I changed my mind, nobody is getting expelled." The silence that followed vanished as the invisible girl fell to her knees in relief.
"WHAT?!" Everyone yelled except for a few.
"Sorry, I should have said earlier. I thought it was obvious that he was lying." The tall girl with raven hair's words got Aizawa to glare at her.
"I wasn't lying Yaoyorozu, I was going to expel Hagakure but she was able to impress me for her tenacity." Everyone looks at their homeroom teacher with shock, even the most stoic of them are shocked at his words. The only one who isn't shocked is Izumi who let out a sigh of relief that Aizawa is being merciful today.
"H-huh? But I thought you were lying to make us do our best?" The girl known as Yaoyorozu stuttered, caught off guard at Aizawa's words.
"Yes and no, I intend to expel at least one of you to show that just because you're in a hero class doesn't guarantee that one of you won't become a pro hero. But, I was wrong to assume that everyone in this class has no potential." He admitted, it is rare that he was wrong about someone's potential.
"However, that doesn't mean that any of you can rest easy. I can expel anyone I deemed unfit for being a hero whenever I want." Aizawa glared at the class, causing most of them to shirk at his red eyes.
"That's it for today, the guidebook that was supposed to be given to you in the orientation is on your seats in the classroom. Be quick." That caused the entire class to leave the gym in a hurry, leaving him alone with two people that were watching the entire test.
"Why are you here All Might?" Aizawa glared at the number one hero with scorn.
"I'm just observing the zygotes, a teacher should understand their students' strengths and weaknesses after all!" Yagi exclaimed, he is still surprised that Aizawa didn't expel anyone today.
"At least you're being honest this time, I expect you to lie that you weren't going to expel anyone." Shouta jumped as he turned around to see Inko who was smiling brightly.
"I never did figure out how you can catch me off guard… How did you even stay hidden like that?" He grumbled at his lack of detention skills concerning his former teacher.
"Good job at keeping Bakugou's mouth shut, I don't know what happened to that boy. He used to be a nice kid before Izumi got her quirk." Inko lamented the horrible change that Katsuki went through, completely ignoring Aizawa's question.
"Don't even mention that brat, I know that he's going to cause nothing but headaches unless he changes his act. The fact that Izumi has a crush on him baffles me, how could she even love someone like him." Both Aizawa and Inko grimace at the disastrous scenario when Izumi confesses her feelings to Bakugou.
"That is rather perplexing, I hope that it is not some type she has for boys..." Yagi mused, unaware of a glare coming from Inko.
"I don't think I have to say that it's better if both Izumi and Bakugou should not get paired at all when it's your time to teach class 1-A, I don't care what you might think." Shouta glared at the taller man.
"Wouldn't it be better if they both fight each other? I've seen this type of relationship before, I think that would do some good for their relationship even if it's one-sided..." All Might argued, believing that his plan would work.
"That is not how it works! It would probably end with a building being destroyed!" Inko criticized the number one hero's original plan.
Yagi gulped before deciding to deflect the argument. "R-regardless, I think that you were too harsh with young Yaoyorozu." He said with a worried tone.
"I had to remind them that this world is unfair, making false assumptions is a sure way to get killed. I think I did that girl a favor to let her know of that fact. " Aizawa crossed his arms.
"Maybe we should be discussing my former student's teaching method later, I think you and I are going to talk about what to do with Izumi and Bakugou." Inko states before grabbing the scared Yagi by his collar and dragging him away from the homeroom teacher.
Despite his dislike and hatred for the number one hero, Shouta feels bad at what is going to happen to Yagi and is glad that he's not Inko's main target.
I would love to learn more about Yaoyorozu's quirk, it's like Ironworks but it seems that she can create anything. Izumi thought to herself as she looked at her classmates with curiosity.
Izumi speculates the application of the quirks Izumi saw in the quirk assessment test.
"I wonder if that pink girl could control her acid's viscosity? She did use her quirk to slide across the race track too." She mused, unaware of a familiar presence behind her.
"Oh, Midoriya! What a coincidence for us to take the same train!" She turns around to see Tenya approaching her.
"This is your route too?" Izumi asked, surprised to see one of her classmates.
"Yes, I'm glad that I found you. I was curious about your relationship with that brute, Katsuki. You seem to know about him considering his aggressive behavior towards you." That got her to shut up quickly, that is not a question she wanted to answer.
"Hey! Midoriya!" Izumi turned around and saw both Melissa and Ochako approaching her. Their presence brightens up her mood.
"That was tense, I didn't think that Aizawa-sensei would be willing to expel students" Ochako mused, letting her classmate know of her thoughts of the first day in class.
"Eraserhead is well known for expelling a hundred students… His quirk is also very useful to keep students from overusing their quirks." Izumi states, informing them of their teacher.
"That was Eraserhead!? How did I not know that?!" Melissa exclaimed, disappointed in herself for not knowing sooner.
Izumi looks at the sudden outbursts coming from Melissa in shock. "You know about him? He's not exactly well known since he's an underground hero."
"Well of course! He is one of my main inspirations! Erase is powerful but it's not very good at combat so he fights quirkless to keep up!" Izumi mentally slaps herself, remembering the first time she met Melissa when they were young. She did bring Shouta up to encourage Melissa's dreams of being a hero.
Ochako decided to bring up Iida's question regarding Bakugou out of curiosity. "I heard what Tenya said, do you have some type of history with him? That jerk seems to hate your guts for some reason, even before the first day I saw him harassing you back at the entrance exam."
Izumi was hoping that she won't have to answer that question. "W-well, Kacchan and I are- were best friends since childhood…"
"Best friends?! How could you even be friends with that brute!? He was anything but nice to you!" Iida was not prepared to hear that a nice person like Izumi was friends with Bakugou.
"Y-yeah. We used to be best friends until I accidentally hurt him when I got my quirk when I was four… Kacchan was never the same…" Izumi said vaguely, realizing that she doesn't have a good excuse for why Katsuki hates her exactly.
"Well clearly, he hadn't gotten over what happened. That jerk still hates you even though you didn't mean it, I'm certain that he let that accident influence his behavior!" Ochako exclaimed at Katsuki's behavior.
"It's unsuitable for someone like him to become a hero! When I introduced myself to him, he said that he would gladly 'crush' an elitist! His mannerism is terrible, he keeps cursing especially when it concerns you, he's aggressive and he keeps calling you useless!" Everyone stayed quiet at Tenya's rant.
"Sorry." He apologized, his cheeks turning pink in embarrassment.
"No, you're right. Especially when he calls you Deku," Ochako agreed with the taller boy's rant, even if he made it more dramatic.
"It was a nickname he made for me when we were younger, I thought it was okay even though I think it's mean to call someone useless..." Izumi explained, hoping that they would stop asking her questions about her relationship with her former best friend.
"You're okay with him calling you useless?" Melissa questioned, surprised that Izumi is letting someone call her useless.
"It's honestly kind of silly for me to accept that name..." At first, it was an affectionate name Katsuki made for Izumi before she got her quirk but now, it is used as an insult which hurts her more than
"If it makes you feel better Deku could also be short for Dekiru which means 'Can do anything'! I would like to see his reaction to that!" Ochako said with a chipper tone, wanting to cheer Izumi up by turning the negative meaning behind Deku into something more positive.
"...That sounds like a good name..." Izumi didn't think about it that way, she never put much thought into that name Katsuki gave to her.
"How about I call you Dekiru? It kinda sounds fun to say actually." Ochako grinned, wanting to call Izumi a nickname.
Izumi couldn't help but blush at the idea. "I wouldn't mind that at all..."
Ochako cheered at the response. "Yeah! I hope we can work together tomorrow, Dekiru!"
Author's Note: Sorry for the long wait, I was busy with college so I have to stop writing to focus on my studies but now I'm free to write fanfiction. It was kinda tough writing how the assessment test goes but I finally finished writing that part. Hopefully, I can make more chapters in the future.
