Authors notes: Hello all Knight here again, the responses have been a surprise for sure, but a welcome one and i hope i continue to live up to the standards you all seem to find this story is at currently.

Now normally i would only post on a Friday but this chapter was burning a hole in my pocket so i thought, why not give it a few days earlier.

Anyway this chapter may not be everyone's cup of tea, like i had said earlier this is my first fic and i'm not that good at writing, so be kind.

Thanks and enjoy.

Chapter 10.

Now that was an entrance, the whole family were just staring at me in surprised awe, good that's what I was aiming for after all, it took a few seconds but the person who I knew was going to break the silence squealed happily and ran over to pull me into a fierce hug.

"Hey Ma, it been a while" I said good-naturedly. Pulling back I give her an appraising look and then nod my head making it seem I found everything acceptable.

"Your looking well Ma, you still going on those long walks I see!" the only response I got was a whack on the arm and a scolding look.

"Ow! The hell was that for!" I whined out.

"James Maurice Felger! Why didn't you call and tell us you were coming!" She tried her best to seem upset about me coming unannounced but I could see in her eyes that she was incredibly happy I was there.

"It's called a "Surprise" Mother, I'm sure you've heard the term used once or twice before" I said with a sassy tone.

She seemed surprised for a moment, ah, OG Jay never was so confidently quick witted in his responses to his family, more like submissive in any and all interactions with said family, hell with that I'm new Felger, they're gonna have to get used to this new me.

Walking over to David Jr I grabbed his hand and gave him a strong handshake, he was still surprised at my turning up that he seemed to be running on automatic.

"Good to see ya Dave -I pat his stomach- I see chasing all those purse snatchers kept you fit, must not be hitting the donuts like your colleagues eh?" I say congenially, no reason to start out aggressive, if they want to start something that's different.

"Oh um, ya, I guess" came the response, dude was out of it alright, no matter I moved over to the old man and threw my arms around him giving him some firm thumps on the back.

"Here he is!" I crowed "So hows the birthday boy doing, you good? Its been a while right?"

"Jay, a surprise to see you about these parts, what's brought you around?" Said Sr, perhaps he thought I was in trouble or needed something from him, whatever I'm not really here for validation from these people.

"What's brought me around? Last time I check it was your birthday dad, why else would I turn up today of all days, and I brought you a present!"

"Hmm, will you be staying long then?" Oh good he looked to be unclenching his butt cheeks a little bit.

"If that's alright with you of course, it a 5 hour drive back to Colorado Springs from here and I got a week off work so I decided to spend it with family!" My smile seemed to bring them all out of the stupor I'd put them in with my arrival.

After everyone got moving again and I finished greeting everyone else, the little sister, sister in law and the terror twins that were my niece and nephew, parking the car in a better spot I took out my gift and a bag with some supplies and we all headed inside.

So inevitably as I knew it was coming, questions came about as to my current status in life only after the grand kids went to sleep of course. We had just finished dinner, a big spread that sat upon the large table in the dining room, some good home cooked food that I enjoyed quite a bit, the family still seemed a bit on edge around me especially after I noted how surprised they were that I went and got us all beers from the fridge and drank one myself, OG Felger didn't drink much apparently, I just told them I was branching out and experiencing new things.

"So Jay, obviously some new changes have gone on in your life, why don't you tell us about it?" said Marie.

"Hmm? Changes?" I asked pretending nothing was a miss.

"Oh come on! The car! The look! The attitude!? What's changed? Last time we saw you, you were working as tech support in some government office or something and driving some ford piece of crap! What gives!?" she exclaimed.

Everyone was staring at me, wondering about the response I would give, they didn't expect me to burst out laughing, flexing my acting chops once more I decided to give them some answers, or at least answers I made up for this situation.

"Oh, oh jeez, I'm sorry its just -chuckles- I'd forgotten that I gave you guys that crappy cover story for my work, yikes." I laughed, they all looked confused, as they should.

"Cover story? What cover story?!" asked the old man.

"Hm? Oh well I was abit nervous when I came up with that crappy cover, its not everyday you work in classified stuff you know"

"Classified?!" More the one asked at the same time.

"You're not doing anything dangerous are you JJ!?" mom asked worriedly.

"No Ma, come on! I'm in about as much danger as Captain America over there". Pointing over towards Jr who fumed at the comment silently.

"No, I just work for the U.S. Air force, civilian contractor, although from what I hear thats being changed into an international oversight advisory something or other". I took another swig of beer, their reactions were priceless.

"And how did you get a car like that? Not only that, but the last thing we heard you lived somewhere in Vegas in a crappy apartment, why were you coming from Colorado Springs of all places?" asked Jr

"Huh, the car? Well I bought an old Charger and fixed her up myself, pretty nice ride am I right? Also, reason I came from Colorado Springs is because I live there now brother mine, got myself a lovely 4 bedroom detached all to my lonesome" I couldn't hold the shit eating grin from my face, I was the one everyone had thought would become a useless layabout, instead here I was, a success in ways they couldn't possibly imagine.

"You built that car up youself boy?" asked a suprised Sr.

"You have a house?!" exclaimed Mama Felger

"This is nuts, how the hell could you afford all this!? You told us you were barely making ends meat!" yelled out Jr.

I just smiled and shrugged my shoulder at their reactions, like music to my ears.

"Well lets just say I got a really good raise recently, plus my good fortune at the tables."

"What? What tables?" asked the brother's wife, who for all this time had kept quiet until now.

"At the casino's, you know I did live in Vegas after all" I replyed casually.

"What kind of good fortune are we talking about here?" asked sis, everyone then began leaning forward unconciously.

"Somewhere in the realm of several million I suppose, nothing to write home about really" I said as nonchelauntly as possible.

"WHAT!?" came the exclamations of the table, unfortunantly for me I was within wacking distance of mother dearest.

"Ow, bloody hell women, you're a menace I swear"

"James Maurice Felger! Why didn't you ever tall us about your good fortune!?" exclaimed an irate mother.

"And why should I of? The only one here that ever really tried to contact me was you Ma, so why should I of gone out of my way to let you all know I was well off now? Not like most of you gave a damn about me before now right?" It would seem there was still abit of OJ Felger still inside me, his memories weighed a little more then I'd thought they did, taking a breath I centered myself.

"Look, regardless of what happened when I was young I came here to try and bury the hatchet and move on you know? I'm choosing to be the better man, although I'm pretty sure I always was, and have choosen to forgive the both of you" I said directing my eyes over to the old man and older brother.

"So in the spirit of forgiveness I came to celebrate dad's birthday alright, so -reaching under the chair-

here you are dad, happy birthday".

Handing over the box, the old man slowly began to open it, almost afraid it would explode on him, maybe he wanted to call the bomb squad or something.

Anyway I knew the old man had wanted a genuine Rolex for years but wouldn't splurge for it, but with my financials as they were it was an easy purchase.

The looks on everyone's face's were priceless, not even his favorite son could get him something like this even though he had tried quite a few times, oh well, I'd hoped that where ever real Felger was that he had felt a little vinidcation with what I was doing here, in the end I couldn't give a rats ass about this situation with the family but a part of me thought I owed something to Jay, making him seem like a big shot to his folks was my way giving him something I guess.

I suppose those reading this are wondering why I was even bothering with all this nonsense, I mean where's the spaceships and battle's with terrible foe's and all that jazz, well there was actually a second reason why I was here, I needed a quiet place to perform a little operation of my own, speaking of which while the family were ohhing and awwing over the shiny gold watch, Cortana had just decided to make her voice heard in my ear.

"Boss, you were right, he's making his play now"

"Yep" I said quietly. "And?".

"Former Vice Presisdent Kinsey has been on the phone all day trying to wrangle a meeting with all the upper echelons of the Trust, and now he's on his way to the site, the stealth probe is hot on his tail, I'll let you know when he arrives at his destination.

I just nodded my head, Cortana had been tracking Kinsey's actions and werabouts since Hayes booted him out, I knew he would try to weasel his way back in somewhere and with the NID as Kinsey knew it defanged and returned to the control of patriots, he was now trying to talk to those in charge at the top of his particularly greasy totem pole.

The Trust. As ironically as they were called, was a cabal of very wealthy and influential olagarks, business men and women who were under the impression they could circumvent the goverments of the world so they could own what ever they wanted, and control the world through their influence and to hell with the rest of us.

Tonight that all changes.

"JJ you hear what I'm saying!" interupted Mama Felger.

"Hmm?" came my genuine response, it seems even with my brain as big as it is I could still get a little tunnel vision every now and again.

"I said what's this all about!" She said pointing at the expensive watch.

"What? Just thought I'd treat the old man to something he's wanted for a while, why not I thought to myself, I'm a loving and respected son, after all." I said keeping my eyes locked onto Dad Felger's eyes and a little sarcasm coloring my voice.

"Plus its not like Dave could have gotten him one, you know whith the kids and all, its a bit too heavy of an expense to expect him to dish out for, especially on his salary". I quipped not completely unkindly but it seemed I had tweaked older brother's nose a little to hard from the thundery expression pointed my way.

"Hmm, well. It's appreciated boy, you're right though, been wanting one a long time so, thanks I guess" Dad Felger said begrudgingly, my tongue lashing still vibrating in his ears, well I considered it a minor miracle getting a "Thanks" from the old man at all so it was quite the victory.

Huh had OG Jay been here he would have been over the moon, I on the other hand just shrugged my shoulder and cracked a grin.

"No problem old man, wants and dreams are beautiful things, we should always do everything in our power to support each other, that's what familys do right?" Ok fine now I was done tweeking nose's.

The night dragged on a bit, bed time came for us all but I said I needed to take a walk to cool off a bit or clear my head, whatever, it was needed, the space from all of them, because I had a mission to complete.

Once I was far enough away from the house I sat on a bench in a nearby deserted park and finally got to work.

"Cortana, where are we at?"

"Sir! Kinsey has just got out of the car that came to fetch him and he's being taken inside, the cloaked Probe is shifting out of phase to follow him." reported the A.I.

Good I thought, I'd be able to get names and faces of all the top jack asses in the Trust, before I dealt with them at least, the new Probe I'd designed for the SGC to replace the malps was paying out dividends.

Although the Probe, about the size of a regulation basket ball, could move out of phase to pass through matter it still suffered from issues, thankfully alot of those issues were resolved when I simply used it only when passing through objects and not leaving the phasing tech on for long periods of time. Hopefully later I'd be able to fix it, but first things first.

"His elevator's stopped".

"What floor is he on? I'm guessing the top floor of some high rise somewhere, these guys all like to think they're gods looking down from upon high." I quered the A.I.

"Thats just it boss, he's gone down, by at least 33 levels, not only that but he's out in the sticks, some kind of secure compound, its not on any of the maps".

'Interesting' I thought.

"How's our connection to the stealth probe" I asked, a little worried about the depth when it came to transmission signal strength, especially if the bunker like place Kinsey now found himself in was shielded against EM and Subspace signals.

"We have a clean transmission signal, looks like the compound they are in hasn't been shielded against the more advanced technologies we have available yet. Jay, its starting"

Putting on the computer shades I had made to interface with Cortana I ordered her to put the telemetry up on the glasses and began to watch.

Location unknown.

The view I got was of a grey featureless room with a large conference table, honestly not something that would be amiss at the SGC, several men and women sat around the table looking up at Kinsey as he shuffled in through the large double doors, there were also 4 figures standing behind them, I couldn't quite pput my finger on it but I thought I'd recognised them.

Tasking Cortana to put names to face's I was able to see what kind of businesses these people ran out here in the real world, the answer I got were 3 tech companies, some with ties to the SGC through contracts to help create technology to sell in the public domain, which explains where they got their knowledge from, as well as a few Software moguls and a couple of weapons manufacturers, what a lovely bunch of coconuts.

She couldn't get any ID on the other 4 though, they still bothered me for some reason.

"Well Kinsey, we're all here as you ask-I mean BEGGED – chuckling was heard all round- If you want our assistence you best have something of value for trade" said one of the men at the table.

"I wouldn't be so smug if I were you" growsed out Kinsey.

"It took alot of effort to get here in time for this meeting Bob, I'd suggest you get on with it, we are very busy people after all" said another.

"Fine, I have the name of someone that might interest you all, James Felger, he essentially single handedly came up with most of the advanced technology we are using nowadays and with that technology he was able to secure victory against one of the most powerful of the Goa'uld, with him under our control we could make trillions and control some of the most advanced technologies around".

"That Mother pussbucket!" I cursed to myself, that asshole was selling me off like a some kind of item at auction!

"We had heard of this Doctor Felger before but as far as we are aware his contributions to the Stargate program were no where near as grandiose as you tell it Robert."

"A lie, planted to protect the man, everything they have right now was thanks to his knowledge and ideas, the new fighters, the Mars Base, the Prometheus's refit, the new weapons and armor the SGC use for their troops and the new ships under construction, they all come from one man". Kinsey was selling me hard in a desperate attempt to get back in to a position of power, scummy douchenozel.

"Well, this is definitely news to us, we were just discussing about when we should send our team here to launch a series of attacks on the Goa'uld with our stolen Al'kesh and the simiote poison we procured but let us also talk about how we can bring this Felger to heel shall we?" came a pompous response from the table.

Mother Trucker! I knew I'd recognised those goons standing by the wall, I may have just upgraded this job to a multi-mission objective!

"Why not simply offer him money, everyone has a price" said one.

"I always believed a good threat of death almost always got the job done" another quipped, the mood in the room becoming lighter as they continued to talk about how they could own me for the forseable future.

Kinsey, who was now sitting at the other end of the table decided to add his two cents into the conversation.

"Why don't we just take his family, that's always a sure fire way to get these fools to remember their place -he gave the table a vicious grin- in fact before coming here I'd heard the Doctor was going to visit his folks for his father's birthday, we could easily grab a few of his family memebers and put some pressure on the good Doctor and then, the power will be in our hands again , as it should be".

Those at the table seemed to like this idea, laughing and toasting their new coming power and believing that no one could ever stop their supremecy over the Earth and its people.

I may not have liked some of my family much, but I'll be damned if was going to let them become hostages for these bastards to use against me, I'd had enough and time was up for these assholes, standing up I spoke out to Cortana.

"Cortana, decloak the Probe and activate the holo imager, its time to let them know the lovely prize they've won". I growled out trying to control my anger.

"Yes, sir" Cortana said quietly, she knew I was all business right now, no more mister nice guy.

I could see with my telemetry feed how the Prode decloaked, everyone in the room began shouting and scrambling away from the southern wall where the device appeared, they didn't get much time to contemplate why this large sphere was there when a light appeared from the device pointing to the ground in a cone like fashion, a moment later an image of a person appeared before them, a face set in stone.

The first one to break out of their shock was none other then Kinsey himself, who moved forward slightly to get a better view of the person before them.

"Doctor Felger?!" said a surprised Kinsey, only to receive a stony response in turn.

"Hello, Bob".
