Chapter 8: Discussions.

Remnant, Atlas

Atlas' Academy

Hallways of administration

January 9, 764 A.C

Winter Schnee's steps were purposeful and firm on her way to the general Ironwood's office. All of the people who were in the hallways made sure to clear her path, and it wasn't because she was a high ranking officer. It was because they could feel the anger radiating from her. And everyone knew that if Winter Schnee was, in simple words, absolutely pissed off; to not cross her as it meant a complete suicide mision.

Once her eyes caught sight of the door she was looking for, they got fixated on the markings on the door to her destination. She slammed the door open, startling the people that were close by.

"Is there something wrong, Schnee?" The general asked without flinching as Winter slammed the door closed again. "Please be careful with my door."

"I need to go to Vale," She said straight to the point.

"I doubt you are searching for my permission. I want to come back soon." He continued to do paperwork without looking up and dismissed her.

She walked to the door and opened but before going out, she smirked and looked over her shoulder. "I make no promises." And with that she exited the office.

Winter knew she should be already on her way to Vale to check on the rumors and her sister. But she felt the need to check on the rest too. That's how she found herself in front of the Schnee manor, getting ready to deliver some news.

She knocked and waited for a few minutes before being welcomed by the fatherly face of the family butler, Klein. She gave a nod and a smile before rushing to the place where her mother mostly was. Winter was going to tell Whitley later. As she opened the door to the office that her father used, she was pleasantly surprised to see that both her mother and brother were there. Willow was either asking Whitley for help or she was teaching him something about the company. Winter cleared her throat and that made them look away from the computer screen.

"Winter!" Whitley said with a smile.

Their mother smiled softly to her before asking, "to what do we owe this visit, dear?"

Winter's smile that formed when entering flattened and turned into a frown. "Did you happen to hear the rumors of the vanished team from Beacon?"

Whitley's face turned into confusion and her mother raised an eyebrow. "Yes, we happened to hear them. Why?" Her brother asked, and his curiosity was barely concealed.

"Well, it just happens that Weiss has not gotten in contact with me for a while, and that since those rumors spread another came of some teams that just happen to be friends of Weiss' were sent in order looking for them." That made the other two freeze, and if it was even possible for that family to be paler than they normally were, then they were.

"Are you sure?" Willow asked, meanwhile Whitley was muttering something under his breath.

"That's why I am going to Beacon, I will have the defining conversation with the headmaster alone." Winter's eyes shined with determination as she said this.

"Good, please tell us what you find if it is possible for you to." Willow smiled at her daughter although she tried to be reassuring, her worry still showed through.

"Good luck, Winter."

Winter bid her goodbyes to her family before finally going to her final destination. She could see the worry and hope in her family's eyes, and if she was being honest, Winter herself didn't know if this was just a fear and her sister just forgot or if it was actually her team that disappeared or if this was actually fruitless.

She hoped not.

Headmaster's Office.

January 10, 764 A.C.

Professor Ozpin sat in his office going through different kinds of paperwork. Work that he normally would have help from Glynda, but with her in another world, he has to do it alone. It was stressful work, and even more so when he was trying to keep his part of the deal with Raven. He is still thinking of why he agreed to search and hide all the tracks of the Branwen tribe. At least he got lucky and Raven didn't ask for something more extreme.

Although there was a weird feeling today, the feeling of being in danger. It was strange. He had watched the news in the morning and there was nothing out of the ordinary. The white fang had gone under the leadership of Kali Belladonna instead of her husband's and while it was still pacifist it was a bit firmer with its demands. Torchwick and Neo Politan still are in prison, and no one else appeared to be on a crazy conquest for power.

Maybe there was something weird happening with the teams and staff at Hogwarts. He hoped there wasn't anything wrong, he didn't want to deal with another magical war leaking to Remnant. The grimm and maidens were enough for the world.

The sound of the elevator arriving brought him out of his thoughts. He was surprised to say the least, he was sure to say that he didn't expect anyone. Although he was even more surprised when he saw the person who came. And by the expression of the face of Winter Schnee he was sure to expect he needed to explain some things.

Ozpin let out a resigned sigh. "Hello, Miss Schnee. To what do-" he was cut off by the sound of Winter's hand slamming against his desk.

"Care to explain why my sister hasn't contacted me exactly when a rumour about a Beacon's team disappearing started spreading?" Winter asked in a cold tone.

"I knew something like this would happen." He rubbed his temple. "Yes, it was your sister's team which disappeared. But do not worry, I sent a group of hunters to make sure they stay that way."

"I know you sent two student teams and only a complete trained hunter team, I'm not stupid." She glared. "Ozpin, I don't know if you care but I have to remind you that a maiden is in between those inexperienced hunters!"

"Team CFVY is already a fully trained hunter team," he started, his voice steady and firm, and although Winter wanted to argue saying they had only graduated a year ago, he did not let her talk. "Along with having sent my deputy and both Qrow and Tai-Yang." If Winter was being honest she felt relieved, mostly from hearing that Glynda was with her sister. (She didn't know Tai-Yang so she couldn't comment on that but she doesn't have a good relationship with Qrow).

"Can I at least know where they are?" Winter wanted to know if she could help finding her sister and friends.

"In a place called Earth, and to be specific, they are in Hogwarts, Scotland."

She raised an eyebrow in confusion. "One, how do you know of that place? and two, can you take me there?"

"The first one I'll tell you so you can share it with the others when you arrive and for the second: Yes, I personally cannot get you there but I know someone who can," the old man responded with a kind smile.

Winter's eyes filled with hope before frowning. "What and why are you going to tell me?"

"Because, I wanted everyone who went to Hogwarts to know but I am as of now very busy and had no time to tell, along that when I sent the teams I had not confirmed it was Hogwarts the place they arrived at and because not even Glynda knows the full extent of this. And what I'm about to tell you may shock you a bit," He carefully said.

"More than you being an immortal wizard?" Winter raised an eyebrow.

"We'll see."

January 13, 764 A.C.

It had to be some days before Winter could finally be sent to the place Ozpin told her. And being honest, her head was still trying to warp around all the information from the place. A war? A power hungry dark wizard? Leaking? It was a lot and apparently Ozpin didn't get along with one of the leaders from that world.

She sighed. It was gonna be better if she stopped thinking about it for now, her head was starting to hurt from just thinking about all of it. She would think of how to explain all this later. For now she would have to deal with one more thing: get help from a wanted bandit tribe leader.

She did not like it one bit, but had to endure it and as she stepped out of the elevator, she quickly sent a glare to the crimson eyes as soon as she saw them.

"I would like you to know that I still don't one hundred percent agree with this."

"I know, but this is the only way for now." Ozpin sighed. "Raven, if you could."

Raven nodded, a smirk on her face as she enjoyed the specialist' annoyed attitude. She focused on one of her bonds and opened the portal. "After you, your highness," she said with a very clear sarcastic tone, making Winter growl.

Great Hall

November 23, 1994.

It was lunchtime by the time team Rwby got their first break from training since that morning, thankfully the classes seemed to pass faster for some reason today. The team and friends were really grateful to rest their brains; although it looked like Ruby was more grateful than the others and considering her training to fight a dragon was now included it made sense. She also promptly fell asleep as soon as she finished eating, hoping to have a good short nap.

Everyone was hoping to relax a bit but those hopes were immediately crushed as they heard one of Raven's portal openings. The whole Great Hall turned to look at who was going to come out. The Remnant people were not surprised, while the Hogwarts staff and student body were constantly looking between Weiss and the newcomer.

"Winter!" Weiss exclaimed excitedly before arching an eyebrow at her sister. "What are you doing here?"

"Well, let me just say that after not receiving any update from you nor from your friends for at least two months would get anyone worried," she said with a slight smile. She raised her eyes and scanned the Great Hall, and her eyes lingered a moment more when landing on the professors' table. "Along with answering some questions on behalf of your headmaster."

Ruby raised her head so fast some thought she might have gotten whiplash and, still half asleep, yelled, "why only now?!" and fell asleep again with a loud thud.

"Is...Is she okay?" Winter asked a little concerned for her sister's friend.

"She's tired. Ruby has been training more since learning that she is going to fight a dragon tomorrow." Yang answered, patting her sister's back.

"Alright, then we will be having the conversation after she fights it," Winter sounded relieved while everyone else nodded.

A/N: So, kind of short chapter really, this is just some kind of filler while I brainstormed some ideas for the dragons. I hoped you liked it since I just couldn't take off my head the idea of having Winter joined the cast at hogwarts FOR SOME REASON, so I included her. I wonder how good it is and if I actaully executed it like I wanted, tell if it is fine.

Anyway hope you liked and as always if you have any constructive critisism let me know! Also wish me luck with the next chapter since it is going to be a tricky one. See ya next chapter!
