During the confrontation on Noveria, Matriarch Benezia is prevented from killing Liara by a timely Charge from Aethyta. As it turns out, Aethyta had never stopped keeping an eye on Liara and Benezia after the latter walked out. Benezia's insane actions have concerned and infuriated Aethyta enough to forcefully intervene with Benezia's seemingly random spiral into insanity.

I died and now I've been shoved into a different body in a different time in a different reality. Awesome. It was just what I needed to spice up my day. I can't wait to save the galaxy and be a hero and 'get the girl'. Pfft. Right. That's going to happen. Thanks to my new body I'll be lucky to get out of wherever they take me let alone join a top secret mission. But you never know.

This version of myself isn't keen on doing anything unless he gets something in return. A deal is made. I am reborn, but I am not myself. I have a new name, a new face, and a much looser set of morals than I once had.

Shepard needs to talk with Aria and he brought the toughest he has with him to show her he too is not to be fucked with. But on Omega it's not easy to stay sober, as will the squad soon learn. The pairing is male Shepard and Jack but there is not so much of that as there is of... well, I will not spoil anything. :)
