Something seemed to be playing on Merlin's mind and Arthur was determined to get to the bottom of it. For one thing; he was his friend, king and master. For another thing; reports were boring and it seemed like a better thing to do.

Can be read as stand alone but best read as part of series. Arthur has died of old age and Merlin has decided to fly with Aithusa to find the dragons of the east. He wants to escape mankind and relationships until Arthur returns. The first part will deal with the time before Arthurs return as this helps shape the changes in Merlin but Arthur does return later in the story.

This is my one-shot rewrite to the ending of Episode 11, Series 5. I felt if I could tweak it just a little, it would open the way for a totally different finale, which I think a lot of us would have liked.
