Chapter 32

At that moment, actually seeing Inuyasha seething made her realized that earlier at the meeting, he didn't react like his old usual fight now and questions later self. He was actually quiet and composed and that was an impressive feat. Now it has her thinking maybe this wasn't the smartest idea she ever had trying to keep her mortality a secret. Inuyasha looked like he was ready to explode, she can feel the rising raw youki coming from her mate, and she definitely did not want to wait for another repaired room again.

"I'll ask-"

"What is it that you need half-breed?" Sesshomaru's icy, cold voice cut him off while pulling Kagome ever so tightly against his chest.

"THAT." Inuyasha pointed at the pair with his index claw. He's eyes were turning darker. "You are supposed to be DEAD Kagome. Not alive…DEAD. AND DEFINITELY NOT MY BROTHER'S WHORE!" He roared the last part out while he's eyes have completely turned red.

Kagome was taken by surprised at his exclamation. He didn't blow up on Kikyo like that when HER soul was stolen to bring that bitch back. He didn't yell at Kikyo with her killing and traitorous actions against him and their pack. And he absolutely was overjoyed that Kikyo was alive off STOLEN poor miko souls. He DARE scream at her! DARE to call her a WHORE! Before she gave into her anger though, Sesshomaru had already sent Inuyasha through the door and into the wall headfirst causing a crate.

'So much for no repairs' Kagome thought fleetingly before she quickly move to get out of the room to stop Sesshomaru from killing Inuyasha.

"Did I say something wrong bastard? IS she not a whore…?" Inuyasha growled with a smirk after barely dodging a blow from Sesshomaru. He was now just a few feet away from Sesshomaru's poison claws.

"I have no words to waste hanyou." With a flick of his wrist, his poison whip rushed toward Inuyasha, leaving no room to avoid or escape. By the time he receded his whip Inuyasha was a bloody mess on the floor. But due to his transformed state, pain was the last thing he felt…he was still struggling heavily to get up.

Kagome knew it would only get worst and they needed to be on their way extremely soon. Also, she definitely couldn't allow Sesshomaru to injure Inuyasha any further despite even if he should get his tongue cut off. Kagome used the moment of hesitation Sesshomaru allowed before he strikes and slipped right in front of him.

"Woman." He growled out. Kagome knew this was one of those times she shouldn't be interfering, but her reasoning is much more important. She can also sense others coming toward them in a rapid pace.

"Sesshomaru, I think it would be wise not to kill one of our allies no matter the circumstances. And I'm sure you do remember that we need to go on a mission in a few hours. Mate, I'm sorry, no more fighting." Kagome finished in a soft, pleading tone. She was not a submissive person, but she's not stupid, Sesshomaru's extremely angry right now.

It took a second for Sesshomaru to swallow his anger and turned his back to Inuyasha. "Feh, gonna let the bitch fight ya battle asshole" Inuyasha still manage to say as he continue to struggle to his feet. He was now leaning on his right knee. He looked up right in time to see Kagome right in front of him with her eye's glowing with anger as she raise her palm to his face.

"I was going to be nice, sleep. Hanyou." Her hand glowed, a white ball shot towards him hitting his face causing excruciating pain for a few seconds before he fell unconscious.

Everyone came around the corner to see Sesshomaru walking back into his quarters and Kagome standing over a damaged Inuyasha. "Get him to the infirmary please. And alert us when he's awake." Kagome told one of the present guards softly. She then turned to Akane who was assessing the scene. "It looks like we're going to need a new door." She smiled sheepishly at him.

Despite the situation, Akane let out a small smirk and motioned two guards to fetch their 'handyman' as Kagome loved to call him. "He just barged into the room while still transforming, said some stuff, Sesshomaru beat him up and I put him unconscious." Kagome had continued after a moment of silence. "I'm going to try and get Sesshomaru to the study, until we meet in a few in the dojo, try not to let us get disturb." She told Akane already walking through the broken doors.

Akane returned his attention back to the upcoming crowd. "Everything is under control, return to your quarters at once until we are ready to meet under the request of my Lord and Lady." He said with a loud voice, daring any objections.

As expected, the crowed wisely turned around except of the monk and slayer who stayed behind. "I just wanted to ask if Kagome was okay… I'm sure it had something to do with Inuyasha." Sango said

"Everything is well slayer." Akane said with a small bow and left for his post.

Kagome wrapped her arms around Sesshomaru as much as she could while lying down like a baby in his arms. She stared up at his beautiful face, memorizing every curve, bump, mark, anything she can within sight. Sesshomaru's anger had all but disappeared as it was replaced by amusement at pretending not noticing his mate scrutinizing his face. He could stop the smirk when she reached to trace the marks on his cheeks. He took her finger into his lips as he nib on it a little bit before he pulled her towards his waiting lips for a kiss. The kiss lasted for several seconds before Sesshomaru's hands started getting greedy and grabbed her ass pushing her closer and upright. He sucked on her neck while one hand had already snaked its way through her garment grabbing a handful of breast.

Each touch was rewarded with an enticing moan causing him to be harder than ever. Kagome pulled back just enough to fully untie her obi when there was a knock on the door. Sesshomaru wanted to growl in frustration as well as Kagome because if she remembers correctly, she had specifically told Akane, who is the said person behind the door, to not let them be disturbed until the meeting. So instead of loosing the obi, Sesshomaru helped her fasten it and they straighten themselves up quickly.

"Come in" Sesshomaru finally said as he pulled Kagome closer to him and down on his still awake manhood. Kagome quickly masked her scent of arousal and shot a glare at her smirking mate while Akane walked in with his face looking grim, causing both parties to immediately be on alert.

"What happened?" asked Kagome with a frown. She can already sense the bad news.

"Our scouts have reported seeing some of Naraku's minions recruiting more followers as we speak. They witnessed one trying to recruit a village miko the other night. The scouts believe that Naraku is still assembling his army and trying to weaken ours considerably.

They sat in silence for a few moments while the news settled down. "What do you think should be the proper action right now Akane?" Sesshomaru asked. Akane's eyes widen quickly before he cleared his throat, "I think we need to leave immediately, I worry that if they fail to recruit some people, they might even resort to killing them for opposing them in the first place. I think we need to move now…and fast." He finished in a serious tone waiting for Sesshomaru's response.

"Then that is what we shall do." Sesshomaru said and they both stood up. "Gather everyone in the dojo at once." Before they left through the doors Kagome quickly added, "please remind everyone to wear proper attire…meaning…nothing that has the western symbol on in." Akane nodded and left to do is bidding.

"I was surprised to see you call on Akane earlier," Kagome said with a smile as they sped walk down the hallways heading to their room. Sesshomaru smirked in return "he is one of my best generals, and dare I say it, a friend…I seek his advice on multiple occasions and I trust his judgments.

"Multiple occasions huh?" Kagome asked with a wry smile "…ever about us?" Sesshomaru only raised a perfect eyebrow and smirked. Kagome knew she wasn't going to get anything from him. "Kai, please excuse us for a moment." Sesshomaru told the man who was working furiously on repairing their door.

"Of course my lord! I shall be just down the hall." He said quickly and bowed practically flying out of the room.

Kagome couldn't help but giggle. She thought he was cute and funny with his brute strength but extremely shy attitude. "Change mate." Sesshomaru's voice cut through her musings as he was already in a whole new set of his usual attire. Kagome changed into tight thermo leggings with a matching thermo long sleeve, turtle neck shirt. She wore her cute, solid all black hiking boots and pulled her hair up into a clean ponytail. She was wrapping her agiel sack around her legs when Sesshomaru growled and threw one of them through the wall.

"HEY! What the hell! That's an expensive, rare gift you know!" she screamed at him and ran to go get it.

"This Sesshomaru can afford anything." He retorted haughtily

"That's not the point you idiot! Don't touch my gift from JURO if you can't handle it properly for the 100th time." Kagome growled out while swinging the stick dangerously close to Sesshomaru's face

Well he knew he deserved it seeing that's probably the 8th time he attempted to destroy, hide, melt, ship, and break the poor thing. Kagome knew the truth was that he couldn't handle the weapon. She guesses walking around with a hole in your stomach is less painful than holding a simple agiel for a few seconds. "I know you're just mad because it's the only thing you cant touch…" she said with a mocking smirk, ignoring his glare. "But attempt to murder my agiel again and I will leave a permanent mark on you mate…" she said in a sickening sweet voice. "And I'm not joking either." She put an agiel on each thigh, she grabbed her sword and strapped it on her back and finally her bow and arrows. "All set!" she saluted him

"Hn…" and they were off to the dojo

Sango had on her slayer's outfit and held her giant weapon proudly as she noticed some occupants in the room were looking over at her and Miroku somewhat nervously. It must be nerve wracking being in such a close space with a demon slayer and a holy monk. The mood was broken when Sesshomaru walked into the room causing complete silence and Kagome finally appeared proudly at his side.

"I'm sure by now Akane has already informed you all of the reason why we must move now rather later. Everyone should already know their partners as well as the groups they're recruiting. Kane and Kazu, you shall wait behind until the Inuyasha awakens to start your search on the half-demons. If there are no more questions then I advise you to move with caution, remember to kill any of Naraku's spies. Practice your lie in case of confrontation and once you recruit a person, immediately send them down the Western path. We shall meet in three days at most. Dismiss." Everyone nodded and dispersed.

"I've heard of the Western Path but never actually seen it." Kagome said softly as they walked toward the main gardens. "I shall take you on a walk one day. The trees are the tallest in all the lands and it's magical. The path protects those of the western land. Father once told me it can read a person's heart; there was a time of war when our allies took the path to our palace. Enemies would chase them into the path, but it redirects them somehow without a person noticing until you lost your target. I have seeing my father disappeared from my sight once, it was training and it was necessary to familiar myself with the path being the heir. I remember running rampage. There was no scent, only one path and a lot of trees."

They were floating high in the sky above the clouds hoping to use them as somewhat as a cover. "How did you find him then?" Kagome asked intrigued in the story

"I had to sit and connect with it. It was a whole day of searching. My father teaches me to meditate when things are stressful, to clear your mind and you'll get answer or idea. So I sat and tried to clear my mind and that's when I heard their voices. There was laughter, before an ancient voice had spoken, 'you have finally passed the test. Your father has been above you the whole time.'And when I opened my eyes and looked up, there he was asleep on a high branch. The tree shook its branch causing him to drop on the ground…this Sesshomaru and the voices conversed and laughed until we left the path that day."

"Wow…I can imagine a mini you looking all lost. Sounds like a great memory." Kagome smiled. "We're here," Sesshomaru said landing them at the mouth of a cave.

Before Kagome can speak she as interrupted by an extremely beautiful woman. "Sesshomaru love," she said in a seductive voice, "have you finally come for me?" she giggled walking closer to him but was stopped in her track by a very loud growl and a red looking demoness.

No bitch is going to be allowed to talk, look, or even dare touch HER mate in any unprofessional manner and she would let this…thing…know it! Kagome moved closer to Sesshomaru glaring at the other woman. Sesshomaru's ego couldn't get any larger at seeing how feral his mate was currently looking.

"Oh my, who might you be?" the woman asked somewhat taken aback.

"I would be Kagome, the Shikon Priestess and Lady of the Western Lands... I see you know my mate." Kagome smiled sweetly

"Lady of the western lands you say? Why…I didn't-"

"You knew very well Kumiko. News travels fast and there wouldn't be a chance of you not knowing with how much you love to gossip." Sesshomaru cut her off "Mate, this is Kumiko and she is a gossip sorcerer that's on the loose within my lands." He said to Kagome.

Kumiko pouted. "Well, I'm highly disappointed to see it's been true, but last I checked, the Shikon miko is suppose to be human and well… a miko…. what is that?" She asked pointing rudely at Kagome

Kagome wanted to claw out her face but held her composure as she receded her powers and was looking like her usual human self. "Let's just say we all have a secrets." Kagome replied evenly and she intertwined her hands with her mate.

Kumiko's eye twitched at the gesture but remained quiet. "We have come here on urgent matters Kumiko. I'm sure you have heard of Naraku" Sesshomaru said cutting right to the point.

Kumiko rolled her eyes and smirked. "Who hasn't heard of that pathetic creature?" she said as she led them further down the cave, which got larger the further they went. They entered into a medium size-lit room and with a pot of tea floating, pouring tea into three empty cups. Kagome was amazed as she watched the teapot went and deposited itself back on the counter. Then the three teacups floated towards them. Kumiko's laugh brought her from her admiration. "I'm guessing you don't use your powers like I do?" she asked mockingly taking a sip of her tea.

Kagome blushed in embarrassment. "No actually, I don't even know how I would go about to do such a thing. I only know offense, defensive and healing with my powers," she admitted sheepishly. Kumiko snorted, "my, how boring! I shall have to rectify that! Imagine the western Lord blue!" Kumiko laughed and Kagome had to join in.

"If you are finished…Naraku has been recruiting any type of able bodies. He has spread his disease throughout the lands except the west yet. We are gathering allies." Sesshomaru cut through in all seriousness.

"Well, how boring you still are." Kumiko said and Kagome had to bite her cheeks to keep from laughing. "I know what you mean, you should have seen some of the villages he left behind…if you can even call them that. The north unfortunately had it the worst, especially when their lord practically opened the door for Naraku. I will join you, and I have a few friends of mine that have been invading the hanyou who will assist you as well…anything better than serving him."

"Good, we have to be on our way. We also have reports saying that Naraku has been moving more rapidly so while you search for your friends, try-"

"And find more people willing to join you…ya, ya…I get it." Kumiko said waving her hand.

"You love to jest Kumiko, an admiral trait but be careful. Naraku is foul and plays dirty" Sesshomaru said seriously before departing.

"He sure knows how to kill the mood." Kumiko said before smiling at Kagome. "Sorry for the first encounter but I hope to see you soon Kagome. Do try to soften him up before we all meet in a few days. He's such a prude." She winked and laughed then disappeared.

Kagome only smiled at the playful woman and met up with Sesshomaru at the mouth of the cave where they once again took the skies. "If everyone is as easy as her then we should gather everyone in no time," Kagome joked.

"Kumiko has been in the family for generations. My father told me his great grandfather allowed her to remain in the western lands when the western path had saved her from a holy hunting group. She landed right in the main gardens bleeding ferociously. Father said the healers healed her and helped her back to her strength. My grandfathers had trained her, hoping she would be able to defend herself rather than just relying on her powers. She disappeared for a time around after my father's death, she had fought along side of him but news reached her of his death afterwards. She came back about a century ago continuing her tricks." Sesshomaru finished.

"Wow, I didn't realize there's so much I still don't know" Kagome said softly taking everything in. Sesshomaru pulled her closer "this is why I'm sharing things as we go along mate." He said causing her to blush. "We have arrived at our next location."

"Should I be worried?" Kagome asked jokingly as they landed at the mouth of yet another cave looking entrance. It took a second for Kagome to raise her shield to block a gulf of fire was sent their way. Once the fire stopped, Kagome finally was able to take a breath. One look at her mate's face clearly showed he was definitely not amused by the show.

"ONE MORE STEP AND I BLOW UP THIS WHOLE MOUNTAIN TOP!"
