"I now pronounce ye man and wife!"

Silence.

I gazed at the man before me through my veil, I watched as he lifted the veil from my face with the handsome smile of his. His smile was so contagious that I couldn't help smiling too. My smile turned into that of a shy one when he grabbed my cheeks and pressed his lips upon my painted ones.

"You go girl!" My little brothers' shout from the crowd is what broke me and my new-found husband and apart and instantly, the rest of the crowd joined my brother with the cheers and shouts. Grabbing my hand, my husband lead me to the buffet table where my and his family stood conversing.

"Kagome-nee-chan!" My brother, Souta, hugged me tightly from the back.

My name is Kagome Higurashi and this was the day of my wedding, as you can see.

"Congratulations, my dear." My father-in-law, Inutaishou, says to me just as strong arms encases me. Silver tresses slip over my shoulder and I slightly look back into the golden eyes of my husband, Inuyasha the half-demon.

"Inuyasha! I worked hard with your hair!" I giggled as my mom-in-law, Izayoi fussed over his messy hair.

"We both know that Inuyasha wasn't going to let his hair be confined for too long, Izayoi-san." I said to her and she shook her head with a sigh.

"I know. Anyhow, where is your sister and her husband?" She looked around and just as I shrugged, a soft hand took a hold of mine, making me jump slightly.

"We are here. Inukimi had us talking to some of the guests." My sister, Kikyo, said to Izayoi as Sesshomaru and Inukimi came up behind Inutaishou. Sesshomaru is my brother-in-law...well, half. He's Inuyashas' half-brother. Inukimi is Sesshomarus' mother.

"Ah, Kagome. Long time no see, ne?" Inukimi said to me with a small smile.

"Yes, it has been far too long. I haven't seen you since Kikyo-nee marriage." She walked to me and nuzzled my temple with her nose.

"I was not aware that my presence was missed being how we first introduced each other." We smirked together at the vivid yet distant memory before she cleared her throat. "But surely you remember Sesshomaru." Said person walked to his mothers' side, his long silver yet white locks swinging although tied at the nape of his neck, bangs covering a bit of the marking he adorns on his forehead and his elfin ears twitched.

"Sesshomaru." I said to him. My gaze slowly made their way to his, meeting those golden eyes that were usually so cold but...they were so heated then. I didn't understand why. It felt like he was burning me from the inside out with just his gaze.

"Kagome." The feeling intensified as he held my gaze and spoke my name. 'What is this' I remember asking myself. His eyes continued to get hotter and hotter until Inuyashas' voice entered our space and I was freed from his spell to where I quickly looked away. Had my gaze lingered any longer, I would have seen the slight annoyance pass through Sesshomarus' eyes and the slight frown to his lips.

"Oi, asshole! Where's Rin?!" Inuyasha asked loudly and I looked to Sesshomaru briefly, relieved to find that his gaze was fixated upon Inuyasha.

"She is home with Totosai, she has a cold." I pouted at the news and Inuyasha scoffed.

"You better be taking care of my niece bastard."

"Do not worry about I. Worry about yourself when you can barely take care on oneself without assistance." At Sesshomaru's remark, Inuyasha growled before stalking off toward Kikyo and the rest, mumbling about stabbing his half-brother. Hearing a loud commotion, I looked over to the alter where my old friends since high school stood, raising their glasses to me and waving at me.

"I was really looking forward to seeing Rin." I absentmindedly said to myself.

"She was also looking forward to seeing you." I slightly jumped when he spoke for I wasn't expecting a reply. Yes I knew he heard me but Sesshomaru have never been the one for words. He usually replies with his famous "Hn" or silent stare. Looking at him from the corner of my eye, I was shocked to see a small smile on his face. But then I couldn't pay much attention to his smile for he was staring at me with those same burning pools of amber from earlier again, resulting in me blushing.

"I hope she gets better." I said quietly.

"She will." I nodded and looked away from him finally, only to get lost in the darkening sky. "come, the meteor shower soon starts." Looking toward Sesshomaru's direction, his back was already facing me as he walked to Kikyos side and I then walked to Inuyasha. Upon reaching him, he kissed my cheek tenderly and I smiled at him.

"Where are the drinks!" My best-friend, Miroku, shouted drunkenly and I laughed, I myself a bit tipsy.

"Gee, maybe a certain monk drank it all." Inuyasha said with a shake of his head and I sat on his lap in the sand.

"Then where can I find this villain!?" Miroku exclaimed and I laughed more.

"Oh you drunken monk, he was referring to you." My "sister" and wife to Miroku said while bopping him on the head.

"...Oh. More sake please!" He exclaimed again just as he passed out. With a shake of my head, I am nudged by Inuyasha. When I looked questioningly at him, he nodded toward Kikyo and Sesshomaru who was approaching us and I stood.

"I must say, you chose a perfect day and time to get married Kagome." Kikyo said with a proud-like smile.

"Ah, you know me, I've always been able to connect with nature in some odd. That's why I usually know when something unusual will happen I guess." I blushed slightly and ignored Sesshomaru's stare, although I never realized until now that it was Inuyasha he stared at.

"You and Sesshomaru both. He planned our wedding to be during the Winter Solstice. It was a beauty and a rare sight, despite the cold weather." Me and Kikyo giggled then.

"He's the ice prince, of course your wedding was during that cold ass time. Shit, if anything his ass made it colder!" Inuyasha smirked at Sesshomaru and I sighed.

"At least I actually did something, brother." I put my hand on Inuyashas chest as he growled and tried to stalk toward Sesshomaru.

"What was that, prick? The ice from your ass is still stuck in my ear. It sounded like you asked me to cut your tongue out and shove it in your ass."

"Inuyasha, lets go get drinks, okay? Kagome, I will have him back to you in hopefully one piece." I nod at Kikyo as she takes Inu by the ear and I watched as they faded into the darkness, bright pink lights shining here and there and I shook my head.

"You two really need to learn how to get along." I said to Sesshomaru without looking to him.

"And you need to learn how to directly speak to people." I blushed hotly at his remark before looking to him.

"Says you! You have had full conversations with me while reading a book." He smirked at me then which made bristle with anger as my blush grew hotter.

"Leave the past in the past, this is the now." I glared at him for a few more second before a sigh escaped me, leaving me smiling.

"I suppose. Still doesn't mean I will forget the past." With my back facing him, his footsteps rang loud which in turn made me turn slightly to him, just to have long locks invade my line of sight.

"I do not expect you to forget. But, if one stay in the past for too long, they will become blind to what's in front of them." Blushing, I looked at the hair strands before clearing my throat.

"And if the present is unclear and dark? Then what?" Sharp claws lifted my chin then and I found myself once again staring into the eyes of my captor.

"Then look onward to the possible future. His voice dropped a octave, sounding so deep and sensual despite it being a whisper. My heartbeat began to race, I still remember his touch-the way it left me feeling as if I was on fire yet encased in ice. His breath smelt of cinnamon and I could practically taste the cinnamon with the way his lips were hovering so close to mine as he spoke.

"And what lies in my possible future?" I whispered for I don't think I was able to speak any louder than that. I remember thinking what kind of sorcery did he place on me. I felt his lips smirk and just as he was about to reply, I felt his lips dip into a frown.

"That...is for you to decide." He then stepped away from me and looked away, freeing me and leaving me feeling as though I had just been pushed into the cold.

"Oi, Kagome! It's time to go!" Inuyasha called to me as Kikyo went to Sesshomaru, standing on her toes and kissing the corner of his mouth. Looking to Inuyasha, I walked into his awaiting arms as he tenderly pressed his lips against mine before picking me up bridal style. As we walked to the car, I couldn't for the life of me shake off the feeling of being watched. So slowly, oh so slowly, I looked back to see Kikyo and Sesshomaru together, hand in hand as Kikyo spoke. Her eyes were glued to her phone despite the fact she was talking and Sesshomaru eyes...well they were fixated upon me. Not wanting a repeat of earlier, I quickly looked to me and Inuyashas' car, a red Mercedes-Benz that was in front of us.

"By kagome! You better call me." Kikyo said as I opened the passenger car door and she walked to the passengers side of Sesshomarus' white 2016 Navigator.

"I will!" I said before getting in the car. Looking out the window my eyes met Sesshomarus one last time as he got in and pulled off.

I didn't see Sesshomaru after that for a while. But ever since, I constantly dreamt of the way he looked at me, the burning electricity I felt as his lips grazed mine and the way my body reacted to his softest of touches.

This was beginning of everything.
