This will be my second gamer fic!
I plan on using the same system I used for Earthland's Gamer
This is going to be an on and off thing, my primary focus is my other fic.
I've had this idea for a while, so I hope you enjoy it!
I do not own 'Dragon Ball' or 'The Gamer'
Two children.
One decision.
A planet exploded.
"Come on!" A voice shouts, shaking me in my bed, "We've got to go fishing!"
I groaned as my eyes opened.
"Finally, you're awake!" My blurry vision unable to see who it was, "Uhh, are you okay?"
"Wha...ughh" I clutched my head as it spikes in pain, "I just...have a headache."
"Oh, okay!" The voice, now I can tell was a young boy trudged off, "I'll make us some food, that'll make you better for sure!"
YOU'VE SLEPT IN A BED! HP AND KP RESTORED! ALL HARMFUL STATUS CONDITIONS REMOVED!
Wha-
Almost immediately, the pain in my head was soothed as my sight gradually came to me.
I was in a bedroom and was sitting in one of the two available mattresses. The room itself wasn't particularly spacious as it's quite clear that its only function was storing clothes and sleeping. A pair of windows was to my left, giving me a fair view of the outdoors. The sun was nearing its peak which informed me that it was close to midday, but it was still morning time.
I sat up from the bed I was in as my lower back began to itch.
I took my hand to go scratch it.
Only for something to gently slap against it.
I turned my head to check behind me and my eyes nearly fell out of their sockets as I saw a tail whipped around slapping my sides. I almost yelled at the shock of it, but I surprisingly kept my composure.
Where exactly am I?
Why do I have a tail?
Who was that-
My thoughts abruptly came to a halt.
At that moment, everything hit me like a truck.
My name was Son Saru.
I lived in the East District near Mount Paozu with my grandfather who named me after the Japanese word 'Monkey', but I don't think he realized that. He taught me how to read the sun and recognize what the climate will be for the following day. I was trained by the man since I was very young and had grown considerably stronger as the months went by. Then one day, he simply vanished and our house was destroyed, we had to rebuild it from scratch. The worst part was the fact we didn't know where he went and it hurt us.
We...someone else was in this house with me.
I have a tail, these memories are from...myself?
Who else was here with me?
"Oh!" I heard someone say in surprise as I turned over to look at them, "You're awake! I thought you weren't ever going to get up, Saru!"
He was rather short and appeared to be very young, I would say around 10 years old based on his height. The most distinguishing physical characteristic would be his hair. Three bangs were hanging to the right of his forehead and two strands tilting to the left. His hair also stands up in the front with four spikes and three bangs in the back.
Then I noticed a blue screen floating above his head.
Son Goku (Kakarot), Lvl. 5
My jaw hit the floor at the name.
"Huh?" The boy who I now identified as Goku slightly angled his head to the left, "You must be hungry if your mouth is like that."
"Goku.." I muttered as I continued to stare at him, "Son...Goku."
"Did you hit your head again, Saru?" He questioned raising an eyebrow, "Maybe some food can help you with that!"
He turns around and rushes out of the room, giving me a full view of his tail swaying behind him.
I must be dreaming.
Where the hell am I?
This was so odd, it's like I've known him for all of my life, but I have something else pushing its way in the back of my head.
Son Goku.
From Dragon Ball to Super, he was one of my favorite characters growing up. I've watched the show since the days of the original series, from the lovable boy to the man fighting against literal gods.
That was him.
He was my...brother.
I don't know what exactly is happening with my head. I feel at ease, yet my memories are smashing together with something else.
It's like two brains are colliding against each other.
No, it was more like a fusion between two people.
Whose body did this belong to?
Goku never had a brother, besides Raditz who wouldn't be showing up for a while now. The monkey boy never had any other siblings, but my mind was telling me a different story.
I remember playing with Goku when we were younger, the times we constantly challenged each other to a sparring match, and how we were both eating monsters.
Little monsters as grandpa would always call us.
Grandpa…
I remember now.
Goku was the wildest between the both of us, he always liked exploring and was a goof when it came to learning academics. I was more passive than him, while I did enjoy exploring and fighting, I liked learning new things. This could involve combat-styles or hunting, but I never shied away from learning straight from the books, which was strange for my race.
My race...
A Saiyan.
I was a part of the people who were essentially erased just after Goku's birth.
I was at the moment 10 years old, which meant I had about 2 years until Bulma's arrival for the Dragon Ball.
+3 INT
There it was again.
The blue screen, just like when I first woke up.
INT...as in intelligence?
I furrowed my eyebrows as footsteps stopped my thoughts from progressing any further.
"Hey, Saru! I cut up the fish you found yesterday and it's all done!" Goku semi-shouted as I stared at him impassively, "I'm sure you're hungry!"
On that note, my stomach began to grumble as the spiky-haired boy giggled as he dragged me out of my bed, and out of the room.
The kitchen itself was fairly decent for its capacity given it was only the two of us, but I almost gaped at the enormous-sized fish just sitting at the table.
"I'm not hungry right now," Goku states as he takes a step back, "It's all for you Saru!"
I gazed at the fish for a few short moments, my attention wasn't on anything else.
"I knew you were starving!" The monkey boy laughed putting his hands on his stomach, "Just look at your mouth!"
I was drooling, but I didn't care as I quickly sat down and started eating like a starving carnivore. Goku was standing a few feet away with a wide grin on his face as I continued to devour the fish. The primal part of my brain took over as in mere minutes it was as if it wasn't there.
"So," I glanced over to Goku with some fish stuck in my mouth, "Do you feel better now?"
"Mussch bwetter" I answered with food still stuck in my mouth, "Thwanks Gwoku."
His only reply was his tail wagging faster than normal.
"I'll be back later from hunting." He stated as he made his way to the exit, "I'm starving just from watching you!"
Didn't he just say he wasn't hungry earlier?
Never mind, it's probably a Saiyan thing.
I watched my brother head out through the door, but not before heading towards a small hut on the outskirts of our house.
Grandpa's treasure.
Goku believes it's Gohan, my memories of being 'Saru' thought so as well, but my knowledge of the future can override that.
It's the four-star Dragon Ball.
The one Bulma will be after in a few years.
I didn't have to worry about that for a while though, my attention was on the blue screen that still hovered a few inches from my face.
Blue screens.
The ability to see 'levels'.
Waking up with absolutely zero problems.
Is this some kind of game system?
+2 INT
So I was right about that, but this brings up another issue.
Why was I here?
I'm in the world of Dragon Ball, which was both exciting, and frightening at the same time. Even at the beginning of the series, Master Roshi blew up the moon. He was able to catch bullets with his bare hands and that was just him. King Piccolo destroyed a city in an instant and beat the turtle-hermit like he was a child.
But I was a Saiyan.
I'd constantly keep getting stronger as long as I kept pushing myself. My existence will probably change some things in the timeline though.
I wonder how that will affect Trunks?
I glanced over to one of the several mirrors in the kitchen and took note of my appearance.
My hair was longer than my brothers. I had spiky black hair with bangs covering my forehead. Similar to Goku, I wore a gi though mine was more black rather than his blue.
I had Bardock's face, but my mother's hair. I looked similar to Raditz as we had a similar hairstyle.
Pushing those thoughts to the side, my attention was solely on the blue box.
For having the ability of a game, was this my status?
Suddenly, a much larger screen was blocking my vision.
Status
Name: Son Saru (?)
Age: 10
Race: Saiyan
Tier: 0
Lvl 3 [0/300]
HP: 230
KP: 128 [Locked]
Status Condition: None
STR: 21
VIT: 23
DEX: 20
INT: 14
WIS: 10
BATTLE POWER: 21.3
POINTS: 0
SKILLS: 5
MONEY: 0 ZENI
So it's like a video game, but in real life?
My eyes immediately darted to my Battle Power and frowned.
I'm a low-class Saiyan, aren't I?
Even at a measly 21.3, I still feel quite strong though. In fact, I'd probably beat most people in this world. Not counting the sound-barrier breaking, moon-busting, and magic wizardry then I'd have a fair shot at winning.
Saiyan's get stronger as they fight, so I'll ask Goku for a spar later.
I have 5 skills?
Skills
Observe Lvl 1:
Through continuous observation, a skill to observe objects, situations, and persons was generated allowing the user to quickly gather information.
The higher the skill, the greater the data obtained.
Gamer's Mind Lvl MAX:
Allows the user to calmly and logically think things through. Allows for a peaceful state of mind. Though extreme emotions can bypass this.
Gamer's Body Lvl MAX:
Grants a body that allows for the user to live the real world like a game. Sleeping in a bed restores HP, KP, and all harmful ailments effects.
Meditation Lvl 6:
To understand others. You must first come to terms with yourself.
6 HP/KP RPM (Regen per minute)
Hand to Hand Combat Lvl 12:
An oriental system of unarmed combat using the hands and feet to deliver and block blows.
So these are my skills?
I guess that makes sense, it at least explains why I'm so calm right now. If I didn't have [Gamer's Mind], I'd probably freak out and collapse from screaming too much. Gohan had taught us how to defend ourselves and meditate to keep our thoughts at ease.
"Hey, Saru!" I turned over to see Goku, who's soaking wet, and carry a wish around the same size as the previous one, "Let's cut this up and put it in the fridge!"
"Okay," I agreed as we chopped up the large salmon and stored it in the freezer.
"Hey, Goku."
"Uh-huh?" He said glancing over at me.
"Do you want to spar?" I asked as he turned his whole body in my direction.
"Do I!?" He shouted in glee as I chuckled nervously, "I knew the fish would fix you up!"
I studied Goku as he was jumping in glee as I called upon my skills.
"[Observe]"

He is currently excited.

He was stronger than me, but strength wasn't everything in a fight. Goku practically skipped his way outside as I leisurely followed behind. The feeling of fighting him, even though he was more powerful, made me somewhat excited.
Damn Saiyan genes.

I can get quests?
This is some kind of video game, so I guess it's only logical.
From the looks of it, I can't deny this, it's not like I wasn't going to accept it though. No failure meant I didn't have any consequences for not winning.
+1 INT
We stopped in a small open area right in front of the house, it was spacious enough for nothing to get in our way.
"I was super worried when you didn't wake up for a while!" My brother sighed in relief, "I thought you weren't ever going to stop napping!"
My memories started to stir within my head as I began to recall why I was unconscious. It was during one of our many sparring matches. Goku was always slightly stronger between the two of us, so whenever we fought, it always ended in his favor. Our recent bout had Goku accidentally knock me out, which is why I was unfocused earlier.
Was that when I took over this body?
When it came to academics though, I was well ahead of him. When Grandpa Gohan died, I took up the mantle of teaching him how to read and write. This caused Goku to be slightly smarter than his canon equivalent.
Now that I can inspect our Battle Power, the gap separating us strength-wise had decreased once I woke up.
My eyes slightly widened as I came to a realization.
Zenkai Boost, albeit a much smaller one compared to Vegeta who got a hole in his stomach.
I guess that's a perk for being a Saiyan.
Perks
Zenkai Boosts
This ability is a genetic trait that allows a Saiyan's power to increase substantially after recovering from near-fatal injuries.
(Begins once your health is below 25%)
Great Ape Transformation
Due to your heritage, you have the ability to turn into a gigantic sized ape when exposed to the full moon
(STR/VIT/DEX is multiplied by 10)
(Ki pool is multiplied by 10)
I blinked twice at the screen before dismissing it.
I already knew this information from the show as Oozaru was basically a 10 times multiplier. Zenkai Boosts were basically the equivalent of 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger'.
Goku also received a boost during the Namek Arc in both his body and when he was in Ginyu.
Did the body change technique transfer over the damage mentally?
I shrugged that thought off to the side, that'll be something I won't have to worry about for a while now.
"Saru?" I glanced up at my siblings as he quirked an eyebrow, "Are we going to fight now?"
"Sorry about that Goku, I was just thinking to myself," I replied, scratching the back of my neck.
"That's okay, as long as I get a good fight," The goofball replied as I chuckled.
It's entertaining how dense he could get.
I took a deep breath and fell back into a fighting pose. I watched Goku shift one of his legs back and put his hand in front of him. His cheerful demeanor was now completely gone, his attention entirely on me.
There was silence for some time, until the spiky-haired boy took the initiative.
With a jump, he pulled his leg back and aimed a kick towards my torso. I drifted to my right as Goku used the ground to shift his body and roundhouse kick me in the stomach.
-18
I staggered somewhat as he launched at me again, he was like a predator pouncing on its prey. I countered his attack by directing his arm away and elbowed him in the face. He flinched slightly, but continued his barrage of strikes as I deflected and avoided each of them.

Hand to Hand Combat 12 → 13
"You've gotten better Saru!" Goku stated in an excited tone as he blocked my blow, "This is so much fun!"
I snorted at his comment as I continued my advance, trying my best to break his defenses. Goku ducked under one of my punches and aimed a strike on my torso. I put up a sloppy guard as it slammed into my forearm.
-13
I winced, but kept my composure.
I saw Goku tense as he propelled a punch that I was ready to block, only for him to pull it back and attack with his other hand. It was a feint, but I wasn't quick enough to prevent it from arriving at my cheek.
-30
My body skid across the dirt as pain blossomed on the side of my face.
"Uh, are you okay Saru?" I peeked up to see Goku staring at me with a worried expression, "I don't want to give you another headache."
"I'm fine," I shook off his concerns as I leaped to my feet, "See!"
"Oh...okay then!" His cheerful attitude resurfaced once more, "I'm just glad you're okay now!"
I simply responded with a nod as he made his way back inside the house.

I frowned at the notification, but I wasn't worried about it.
Goku was a fair bit stronger than me and he was the 'fighting champ' as I always called him. I was more on the logical side, finding different strategies in winning a fight rather than brute strength. While Goku was more like Bardock in that way, I suppose that would mean I was like Gine and Raditz.
"Saru!" I heard the voice of Goku shout from inside, "Let's cook up the food!"
"On my way!" I answered rushing inside, keen on eating.
It felt strange having a body that was essentially an endless pit, but I suppose that's the downside of being this race.
I was in the world of Dragon Ball, where people could blow up a planet like its child's play. From the Pilaf gang, all the way to the newest iteration of Broly, this was going to be one rollercoaster of a ride and I intend on making it to the end.
I will take the world by storm.
It was only a matter of time.
And that's it for the prologue!
This will probably get updated every once in a while as my focus is mostly on school and Earthland's Gamer.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the 1st chapter!
Remember to follow and review!
Until Next Time!
