A fair warning: Because I'm doing a whole bunch of other tasks at the same time and working on this fic whenever I have the time and attention, there'll probably be significant gaps between chapters, possibly up to a month.

Realm BNH-52
UA/Yuuei Academy
In his office, Principal Nezu, the man-dog-rat-bear-thing in charge of the foremost hero academy in Japan, pondered the message he'd been sent. The message contained information that he would have a very hard time believing if it hadn't appeared on his desk in a flash of light accompanied by complex runes floating in midair. As soon as he'd gone over the information within, Nezu called in and informed Toshinori Yagi (the emaciated "resting form" of the great All Might) and Shouta Aizawa (who really shouldn't be out of the hospital and back at work so soon after that Noumu creature almost killed him, Nezu thought, but the perpetually-tired man was set on coming back to reassure his students and avoid any further paperwork buildup).
"An entire multi-dimensional coalition of heroes and military powers," Aizawa surmised, his voice slightly muffled by his bandages, "and they're coming here, because they think some of their enemies might already be skulking around on our world…"
"Have you seen or heard anything that could support their claim?" Yagi asked.
"There have been a few recent reports," Nezu replied, "kept very hush-hush, which mention shadowy entities that may be the 'Heartless' mentioned in the data we were sent. The man whose experiments led to the Heartless' explosion in numbers across the Realms of Light may be dead, but the monsters are still loose – just without a sapient mind directing them now, seeking strong points of Light on instinct. And it seems our world may be one such point."
"So now they're coming to our world to help handle the threat" Aizawa said. "A bunch of veteran heroes… people, some of them kids as young as our students or younger, who are trained to kill their enemies, have experience in it…" He sighed. "Sure, basically every Pro Hero ends up being forced by circumstance or accident to kill a villain in the line of duty. But these people – these kids – already have hundreds or thousands of kills in their records – simple-minded monsters, mostly, but also some sapient beings…"
"Pro Heroes are meant to serve as crime-fighters" Yagi observed. "But these people are soldiers… Perhaps we shouldn't judge them by our occupation's standards, since they're in an entirely different class."
"They're still kids…" Aizawa murmured. "But… They do know how to fight non-lethally, or at least some of them do. And they could have some useful skills they could teach to our little crop of would-be heroes…"
"They might be able to help Class 1A handle the emotional aftermath of USJ, too" Yagi suggested.
Nezu nodded. "Let us prepare for our new allies' arrival, then."
"What if the Hero Commission finds out about them and tries to meddle?" Aizawa asked.
The super-intelligent chimera grinned. "Then we show the Commission the details on the Dimensional Defense Force's full capabilities, so they would know exactly how far out of their league they are…"
-Break-
The students of Class 1A were gathered in one of the hero course's meeting/training fields, waiting for the scheduled arrival of visitors from other worlds. Some were excited, some were anxious, some were disbelieving… It had only been a couple of days since they returned to class after the USJ debacle, saw their half-dead teacher limp into class near-mummified in bandages acting like it was nothing, and were told of the upcoming Sports Festival. Now here they were, accompanied by their teacher, by Present Mic (who was hovering over his still-injured dear friend and trying not to look like he was doing so), by All Might, and by the enigmatic Principal himself.
Bakugou sighed. "Are we sure this ain't some kind of pra-"
A large teleportation rune-circle formed in the center of the area, glowing bright gold. With a prolonged flash, several DDF representatives arrived – the seven girls of Gamma Team, Nora Valkyrie & Lie Ren, Fuuka Reventon-Emery (the adoption had recently gone through; the young girl was overwhelmed with joy at having a real mother again), Pirika getting her first off-world experience, and Might Guy present to oversee the start of Pirika's training and offer his training services to the hero students.
"I'm sorry, Blasty, what were you saying?" Sero teased the explosive blond.
"Shuddup."
"Welcome, travelers!" Nezu greeted. "I am Nezu, principal of (U.A./Yuuei) Academy for aspiring young heroes! We hope your stay here will be a pleasant one."
The orange-haired squad leader stepped forward with a slight bow. "I'm Teana Uchiha-Lanstar, 1st Lieutenant, joint position in United Nations Space Command Naval Special Warfare and Time-Space Administration Bureau Special Operations, leader of UNSC NavSpecWar / TSAB SpecOps Gamma Team."
Aizawa suppressed another grimace at a girl the same age as some of his students introducing herself as a hardened spec-ops military soldier.
"So," Teana continued, "word has it you guys have seen Heartless around these parts?"
"Indeed" Nezu pulled out a tablet and showed her the images with grainy yet unmistakable profiles of Heartless spotted here & there around Musutafu. "Hopefully you & your friends can help us with this little problem before it becomes a full-blown infestation."
Teana smiled. "We'll do our best, Headmaster."
The students of 1A were eyeing the DDF representatives with various emotions – a bit of suspicion, some curiosity, a little awe, Midoriya was trying to keep his geeking out quiet, and…
"So hot…" Mineta Minoru muttered, drooling a bit, ogling the various high-school-age girls of the DDF delegation.
"Perhaps while you kids are here," All Might said, "we can teach you a thing or two. And maybe you can teach some tricks to our aspiring young heroes, too!"
"An excellent idea!" Might Guy proclaimed. "We shall stoke the flames of their youth ever higher!"
All Might grinned big. "I believe you may be a kindred spirit, good sir! I am known as the hero, All Might!"
"Haha! Well met, All Might! My name is Might Guy!"
"Oh good lord, there's two of him…" Aizawa groaned.
"Might Guy is an experienced veteran, despite what his… eccentric personality might make you think" Teana explained. "He can afford to act bombastic and goofy most of the time because he's so strong, fast, and skilled that hardly any foes pose a serious threat to him. He does get serious when the situation requires it, and he's very good at teaching physical conditioning and unarmed close combat."
"One reason I have come along on this operation is to assist in training young Pirika-chan here" Might Guy announced. "She is a new recruit, from the world that the DDF visited and established a presence on just before we came to this one, and she has great potential in taijutsu which I will help her develop! Furthermore, at a later point we may be joined by my Eternal Rival, Hatake Kakashi! He is not as youthful and exuberant as I, despite being the same age, but he is an experienced shinobi and teacher, skilled in many arts!"
Looking around at the locals, Sarah happened to notice that Aizawa was wrapped in bandages with his arm in a sling. "Jeez, what happened to him?"
"Not long ago," Principal Nezu replied, "a new enemy organization calling themselves the 'League of Villains' attacked Class 1-A at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint training grounds. They were hoping to get All Might, who wasn't present due to being busy elsewhere, and to that end they brought along a lab-grown artificial humanoid monster, built from the ground up to overpower and kill our Number One Hero. Aizawa-kun was gravely injured protecting the students from the monster and from the enemy field commander, while buying time for All Might to arrive."
"All Might had to go all-out," Present Mic explained, "even push himself past his limits and injure himself, but he beat the thing. We got Shouta-kun to the hospital in time, and the docs say he'll recover fully! …It'll take a while, though."
"The DDF could help with that" Kaede replied. "We have advanced med-tech, and plenty of people with healing powers. If we need to, we can even grow people new cloned organs!"
At that little tidbit, All Might perked up, eyes widening with a spark of hope. He would have to speak in private with the DDF representatives, or their superiors, as soon as possible. He could also see the same gears spinning in young Midoriya's head, the green-haired boy glancing at his mentor.
"Anyway," Teana continued, "we'd be glad to help these guys train. We know some non-lethal techniques and skills, so we can definitely help teach a thing or two."
"So!" Present Mic clapped. "Introductions! I am Yamada Hizashi, hero name 'Present Mic'. My Quirk lets me weaponize my voice as devastating sonic shockwaves."
"Aizawa Shouta" the bandaged, scruffy-looking man spoke up. "Eraser Head. My Quirk allows me to shut off the Quirks of others so long as I'm looking right at them. It doesn't work on permanent mutation-type Quirks, though."
He gestured at Asui Tsuyu and Shoji Mezou as examples.
"Principal Nezu's Quirk is super-intelligence," he continued, "and All Might has a powerful strength enhancement Quirk."
"Um…" the big man in question spoke up. "That's… actually not quite correct."
Aizawa, Present Mic, and the students looked at him in curious surprise.
"My Quirk can more accurately be called Power Stockpiling" All Might continued. "Basically, the Quirk constantly stores up a reservoir of energy inside me that I can use to increase my strength, speed, or durability as needed. It's an extremely rare type of Quirk; I was taught how to use it by the only person of the previous hero generation in Japan to hold it, and she was taught by the man who had it when she was a kid. And now that I've discovered that young Midoriya-kun has it, I'm teaching him how to use it, just as he will likely someday teach someone else how to!"
Some of the students started murmuring in surprise at the revelation.
"Unfortunately, Midoriya's body can't handle more than a small fraction of his Quirk's maximum output, primarily because he's still physically immature. He likely won't be able to safely use even 50% output until puberty finishes with him. And he's a late bloomer…"
"Is that why Deku keeps breaking his bones?" Uraraka asked. "Because his immature body can't handle his own Quirk?"
'So that's why he kept it hidden until now, is it?' Bakugou thought, surprised. 'If he'd tried showing off his Quirk when he was younger, it would've torn him apart… What the hell kinda shitty Quirk can kill its user if they aren't big & strong enough to use it properly? All Might's a musclebound giant but Deku's always been a fuckin' twig until he worked out over the summer; why would he get a Quirk that could rip him to pieces if people are always s'posed to get Quirks that fit them?'
"So, do any of you guys have Quirks?" Sero Hanta asked.
"Not technically" Shion replied. "Far as we can tell, the 'Quirk Factor' is unique to this world. Although, there are a few things like Quirks. There are kekkei genkai, also called 'rare skills' depending on where you are; they're generally Quirk-like unique powers that are hereditary and typically don't change at all as they're passed down. Teana and Kaede both have kekkei genkai." She gestured to the two orange-haired Gamma Team members. "Also, Ren and Nora" she gestured to the pair "are from a world where every single person has what's called a Semblance, which is closer to a Quirk than a kekkei genkai, though it's connected to souls: if you're from the planet Remnant, then if you have a soul, you have a Semblance."
"Rather than standing around explaining things the old-fashioned way," Teana spoke up, "there's some special footage we can show you all afterward…"
Meanwhile, Mineta was trying to get a closer look at some of the pretty girls. As he drew closer, Ahsoka sensed the purple midget's surface thoughts, showing an expression of disgust at the undisguised objectifying lust he was giving off. She was about to gently but firmly warn him off, but then Pirika noticed the super-short student looking at her. And she froze, pupils constricting. Mineta's small size, his hands subconsciously making grabby/groping motions, the lecherous little grin on his face, the undisguised lust in his eyes… In Pirika's eyes, all these things combined, and suddenly she wasn't looking at Mineta Minoru, but at a vile, yellow-eyed, loincloth-clad, green-skinned-
Mineta took one step closer, and Pirika let out a strangled, terrified shriek and reacted instinctively, launching him away with a kick that hairline-fractured a couple of his ribs. And then, Mineta was grabbed in a telekinetic hold and hoisted into the air; having sensed her comrade's emotions and thoughts, Ahsoka was now visibly pissed. Ren and Nora immediately started trying to comfort and calm Pirika, who was shaking slightly.
"What did he do now?" Aizawa said with a longsuffering groan.
"He triggered Pirika's trauma" Ahsoka growled. "Her world is the last one the DDF visited before we found and came to this world. That world is being plagued by invaders called 'goblins'. This little rodent's small size and naked lust are so goblin-like that he triggered her. From when a pack of goblins tore her childhood friend to pieces in front of her and then gang-raped her while pinning her down in his blood & entrails."
The local students gasped in shocked horror, and then there were a lot more glares being thrown at Mineta, who squirmed in the Jedi's telekinetic grip.
"I-If I'd known she was a rape victim, I would've backed off!" he plead. "I swear!"
Through the Force, Ahsoka could tell he was being truthful. However…
"So not knowing whether or not a girl is a rape victim makes it okay to harass and frighten them?" Kirishima Eijirou growled.
"Like you've been doing since Day Fucking One?" Bakugou added, near-snarling at the little rotten grape.
"Seriously, dude" Kaminari Denki spoke up. "I appreciate the female form, but I do my best to be respectful about it. If a girl lets me know she's even a little bit uncomfortable with me, I back off. I've been trying to be your friend, since it really seems like you don't have any others, but sometimes you make that real hard to keep doing."
"And don't think we haven't noticed whenever you're ogling us" Jirou Kyouka spat. "You're not as stealthy about it as you think. And if I can hear a pin drop in grass from 100 meters out, I sure as hell can hear you mumbling and doing that creepy-ass perverted giggling when you go on about our bodies."
"If I catch you trying to look up my skirt one more goddamned time," Ashido Mina growled, "I'll make you eat your eyes."
Looking disgusted, Teana turned to face the teachers. "Why haven't you kicked him out yet?"
Aizawa sighed. "This class survived an ambush by a horde of dangerous villains, and that's all over the news. Expelling any of them without egregious due cause could be political suicide for UA/Yuuei Academy."
"That being said" Principal Nezu strode up. "Mineta-kun, if you continue harassing your female classmates or our guests, I will have you transferred down to General Education. …And if you ever assault any of them…" he glared "I will personally expel you and ensure you are blacklisted from every hero academy in the country. Am I understood?"
"Y-Yes sir" Mineta squeaked.
"Good!" Nezu clapped his paws. "Now then, you mentioned something about footage?"
-SCENE BREAK-
The whole big local group were brought into the special pocket dimension used to show people the archived "footage" that showed "backstory" of everything up to recent events. Incidentally, the special magic that made eating or using the bathroom unnecessary also allowed All Might to stay in his super-buff form, preserving the secret of his mangled and emaciated true form. The kids and teachers were amazed by all the technology the DDF had, and by the numerous non-Quirk powers wielded by so many. In particular, the existence of ki/chi/chakra and magic, sources for Quirk-like powers that were not tied to some special gene and could theoretically be taught to and learned by anyone, triggered a lot of discussion. People who were technically Quirkless were conjuring fire, flying through the air, displaying super strength, speed, & durability… And some of the DDF's heavy hitters were really powerful, matching or surpassing most of the Top 10 Pro Heroes! Though, All Might was so powerful that only a handful of the DDF's big-names were objectively, noticeably stronger than his full strength.
Midoriya's lightning-fast analytical mind had him mumbling a mile a minute. Bakugou, meanwhile, was quiet as he realized just how out-of-his-league he was compared to some of the DDF's top fighters.
Afterward, when the DDF representatives were answering questions, Teana noticed All Might waving her over, the musclebound blond giant trying to be stealthy and quiet. Bemused, she followed him into a nearby empty room.
"Need something, sir?" she asked.
Looking around, All Might sighed. "I'm going to trust you with an important secret. This form you see before you? This big, buff, strong, confident me? It's not my true form. My Quirk is partly transformative. For most of my life, my resting state was still somewhat imposing – lean muscle, tall but not overly so, strong and healthy. But, several years ago, I was reduced to this."
With a burst of smoke, All Might… deflated. Now, Teana's eyes widened as she beheld an emaciated shell of a man, stooped with pain. He lifted his shirt, revealing a huge and hideous scar on the left side of his torso.
"I lost my left lung, my left kidney, 90% of my stomach… I can only maintain my 'Hero Form' for about two hours a day; if I push past that, like in a long and difficult battle, that time will decrease. Only a tiny handful of people know that the great All Might is a cripple – the staff of this school, a couple of my trusted old comrades, and young Midoriya."
"…Our med-tech could probably fix some of the damage" Teana realized. "We could flash-clone you some new organs to replace your lost or damaged ones, and then maybe help you get some of your lost muscle mass back. That should fix your time limit problem!"
"…Not… entirely." The man sighed. "There's something else you should know."
He then gave her a short explanation on "One for All", the power-stockpiling Quirk that can be passed down to others, and how Midoriya Izuku currently carries it while All Might himself is running on the "residual embers, slowly cooling".
"Hmm…" she pondered. "Well, I don't think we can stop the power from leaving you, but maybe we can slow the fading-out down by getting you back in medical shape. And maybe Guy can come up with something to address Midoriya-kun's bone-breaking issue…"
-SCENE BREAK-
A bit of experimentation determined Aizawa's Quirk had somewhat of a semantic element to it. Somehow, his Quirk was able to disable kekkei genkai (as demonstrated on Teana's Sharingan) and Semblances (shown by his shutting down of Lie Ren's calming/anti-Grimm psychic field Semblance), but not chakra-, magic-, or Force-based abilities that weren't directly linked to those things.
"Hey, question" Shion said. "If Hagakure-san is permanently invisible because of her Quirk, might Aizawa-san's Quirk be able to affect it?"
"We haven't really tried yet" the invisible girl replied.
"I have to be able to see someone to shut off their Quirk" Aizawa said.
Thinking for a moment, Teana activated her eyes, and as soon as she brought them up to Rinnegan, she could see Hagakure Tooru's chakra flow and a faint view of her as if a photonegative transparent person. She then extended her fist toward Aizawa, who pushed his fist to hers; Naruto was making a habit of teaching ninshuu to whoever could learn it, so Teana was able to forge a connection. Through that connection, Aizawa could just barely make out an almost totally transparent photonegative figure occupying the floating school uniform.
His eyes lit up red. After a couple seconds, the floating school uniform was suddenly occupied by a somewhat short yet curvy girl (the second-biggest bust in the class), with pale skin and straight black hair that reached to her mid-back, and a soft and youthful face with bright-blue eyes that lit up with astonishment as she looked down at her hands, a big adorable grin forming on her now-visible face. She spun around to face her classmates, who 'ooh'ed and 'ahh'ed, with Ojiro Mashirou blushing.
Unfortunately, Aizawa couldn't keep his Quirk active any longer, shutting and rubbing at his eyes, and Hagakure quickly faded back into invisibility, pouting.
"Perhaps the DDF can come up with a wearable seal or enchanted accessory…" Might Guy pondered.
-Break-
"So, there's some great big festival-tournament thing coming up soon?" Marie asked.
Midoriya Izuku nodded. "In about a week & a half" he said. "It's going to be a big multi-stage festival with elimination challenges, ending with the top 16 scorers facing off in a four-round tournament. It's a way for hero students to get attention from Pro Heroes for the internships that follow."
"Wasn't there gonna be a tournament soon on Midchilda?" Ahsoka thought aloud.
"Yeah" Fuuka nodded. "Though, it's still a couple months out. I'm going to be competing. I… need to settle a score."
-Break-
Informed of All Might and Aizawa's medical states, the DDF brought Konoha medic-nin and UNSC & PFL medical tech into play. Aizawa's various still-unhealed fractures and other damages were repaired as best as possible, dramatically shortening his recovery time. All Might, meanwhile, was quietly brought to the Starshot (hidden in high geosync orbit) and given intensive medical help, including new flash-cloned left lung, left kidney, and stomach, along with a treatment to shrink and fade his scar partially. He quickly started showing improvements, beginning to regain his lost muscle mass and also regaining about an hour's worth of "Hero Time" per day. The DDF's specialists set about looking for ways to prolong his ability to use One For All as well, though they made no promises that they'd succeed.
As the DDF representatives did what they could to help the locals without giving any of the students what could be perceived as "unfair advantages" for the upcoming Sports Festival, it wasn't long before news of the newcomers got out. Word spread of extradimensional newcomers who possessed diverse and potent powers unrelated to Quirks, and who operated more like spec-ops military than Pro Heroes. The 'Hero Commission' tried to insist that the newcomers still fell under the umbrella of Pro Heroes or Heroes-in-training, no matter how much they tried to "pretend" to be soldiers of a separate and organized military, and thus they were required to apply for Hero Licenses and follow the rules before they could do anything. The DDF reiterated their sovereignty and their representatives' status as DDF personnel, with military and training records to prove it, and then sent the Commission information on their full military-industrial strength in an attempt to frighten them into backing off. Fortunately, the Japanese government was also paying attention and took steps to rein the Hero Commission in before they could start an incident.
Most of the Pro Heroes were glad for the help, especially when information about the Heartless was shared. A few people, however (mostly politicians, anti-Quirkless groups, but also a couple of Pro Heroes including the #2-ranking Endeavor, though he tried to keep his views quiet), viewed Shion, Marie, Mai, Ahsoka, Sarah, Fuuka, Might Guy, & Pirika with barely-disguised contempt due to them being technically Quirkless, "genetically inferior", using the "cheats" of chakra and magic to try and compete with people who bear "true natural ability").
Training, teaching, and the sharing of stories continued. And soon, the Sports Festival drew near…
-CHAPTER END-
And her we go, diving into another series I was introduced to via TV-Tropes, fanfics, and a couple YouTube clips. However, I will not be watching the Hero Academia anime, despite all the rave attention it gets, for one reason.
Due to all the descriptions of him, the characterization in manga bits and in fanfics, small and cute and friendly, I was wholly convinced that Izuku Midoriya would… well, for lack of a better way, would have a "cute" voice – a female seiyuu. Finding out that the anime has him voiced by a male seiyuu was… Because of my established headcanon, ManVoice!Deku just feels wrong. And that is why I won't be watching the anime – just relying on manga, fanfics, and TV-Tropes for information and plotlines.
In any case, as I mentioned at the top of the page, there will likely be multi-week gaps between chapters simply because I'm juggling so many other things at once. The chapters will keep coming unless I say otherwise, they'll just take a while. Stay tuned.
