Prompt: Fears

Kagome's heart clenched, when those words came from Jaken, was it possible that she brought it here unknowingly? But if that was the case more people would be sick in general by now, plus there was no signs yet that it was smallpox.

Sesshomaru ordered everyone near Rin in the last day or so, stay in their room to see if it was only Rin that was affected.

Later on in the day, Kagome was beginning to fret at any news that she kept staring at Sesshomaru, silently begging him to say anything.

"Kagome, stop fidgeting. I keep losing count of my numbers" he asked slowly.

"Any news?" she finally asked.

"Not anything new yet" he replied going back to his counting.

Across the fortress, Rin was resting peacefully, she fell ill when she was out with Hiro, they took a small trip to a nearby spring with AhUn when she mentioned they should go back, as she wasn't feeling well. Her fever sprung up during the ride and she was about to fall off as she fainted. Hiro managed to grab her but unfortunately broke her arm in the fall.

After arriving home, medics took Hiro into their care, and Rin was placed into her room to rest. Though it wasn't appropriate, Lord Itsuki took it upon himself to visit her and sit by her bedside, in case she woke up. Keisuke was next to spend time with her but he was busy delegating tasks to his staff in investigating the site around where Rin fell, Sesshomaru had reported that the village at the base of the mountain had reported cases of demons going ill as of two weeks ago.

Rin was becoming interesting, at first he wasn't sure if he would even like her, for young girls her age, weren't very educated, most started really young in finding a husband and were true ladies, he was very amused to see how she struggled in keeping a straight face when she felt strong emotions, as one did not become expressive and spoken out. She was quite rude at times, and had strong opinions on topics that women had no say in.

Another woman who was an enigma, was the Lady Kagome, the shikon miko, of course almost everyone knew she was from the future, and mildly excused her mannerisms. She knew when it was appropriate to say something, and other times she did as she pleased even if she stepped on a few toes.

In her sleep, Rin moaned out for Sesshomaru and he chuckled a bit. A daughter wanting her father even in her sleep showed how she admired him even after all the years they were together.

He dipped one of the rags the maids left before lying it across her calmed with the change in temperature and he sat back to wait for her to wake.
