Prompt: Organized

The day began at sunrise and Kagome was making sure Sesshomaru went through his morning routine as always, on the agenda today was last minute prep for the ball tomorrow.

"Rin is getting fitted for her attire this morning, before her afternoon/evening with Lord Itsuki. Jaken is supervising this last visit and Reiko is making sure all of her personal beauty products and hair items are stocked and she isn't missing anything." Kagome read from her list.

"Next," Sesshomaru commented.

"All of the guests are accounted for, no one has left the premises as you asked and no one has gotten ill since Rin."

Sesshomaru nodded.

"The musicians have put together a list of pieces for tomorrow night and the order they will be playing songs, in the blank space, they would like your recommendation for a piece to play after Rin makes her announcement and she takes a dance with her intended" Kagome read while passing along a separate piece of parchment for Sesshomaru to write on.

"And the cooks have received your list of approved dishes and have confirmed that everything will be ready in time" Kagome read the last bulletin.

Sesshomaru finished writing on the parchment, before handing it back to her.

"Please return it this morning, and complete any tasks that are pending, tomorrow is your last day." he commanded.

Naoki stared at his sister as she got ready for the day.

"You know I don't like being underhanded, and this is more pressure from father to secure power, but please don't do anything to incur Lady Kagome's wrath?" he asked as a favour.

Miyuki smirked lightly.

"Brother, this isn't my first time being a major ploy in our father's plans, and I'll try to not step on too many toes… the lady you're so fond of? That I can't guarantee."

Naoki frowned but knew he meddled enough in whatever his parents were scheming.

He had a bad feeling about it.

After being ambushed at breakfast, The Lady of the West kept more to her quarters and away from the meddling other cardinal lords trying to sink their teeth into her son, who she wasn't worried about. As entertaining as things were around here, she wanted to head back to the quiet of her sky palace, Toga left for her. Drama was fun but after a while she got tired of the annoyances that came with it.

Soon enough, Sesshomaru would have to come to the realization that he wasn't as young as he used to be and although the Western Lands were secure with him for quite some time, he would need a strong heir to take over one day.

She could also tell that Sesshoumaru already had a close bond to InuYasha's widow. Hmph perhaps they could get over their dense natures and confess to each other already, everyone could tell they had chemistry.

The thought of hanyou's inheriting their strong land, made her disappointed but InuYasha did prove that you could not underestimate a half demon's power because they were part human.

A/N: ah scheming demons on conquests for power never end do they? Haha half demons can be a problem if you underestimate them, speaking of half demons, it reminds me of the ending of season 1 of Yashahime, no spoilers from me but I would love it if they would stop with the awful cliffhangers...
