Kagome went about her day, running errands and tying up loose ends. She decided to leave her paper piles to last so that when that was completed, it would feel like she had done an excellent job in being a personal assistant.
It was early afternoon when Kagome reached her desk and jumped into organizing it.
30 mins later, Naoki appeared and sat in front of her. She tried to ignore him, thinking he would get the hint and leave, this was her last day...
He waited while she appeared super busy but soon enough she had run of of papers to proofread.
"Lady Kagome, I stopped by to ask if you would accompany me to the ball tomorrow?" he got straight to the point.
Kagome got up and gathered some papers before hastily leaving him, declining his invite.
She sped towards Sesshoumaru's personal quarters, thinking maybe she would get something done if that's where he decided he was working today.
Oddly enough, no guards were posted in the hallway near his rooms and Kagome quickened her steps feeling anxious.
She burst through the door, apologizing for the rude entry… when she saw two people in bed naked. Lady Miyuki had made her move.
Blushing bright red Kagome tossed some papers on the table before running away.
With no destination in mind, Kagome ran until she couldn't breath well, and she ended up in the gardens, where she collapsed in post grief on a bench. She had been stupid to think Sesshomaru would be interested in her.
Naoki didn't have time to warn her not to visit Sesshomaru this afternoon, for he knew that he had lunch with his sister and she probably coaxed her way into his rooms for some "quality" time together… he found her crying outside on one of the garden benches, completely distraught.
"I'm sorry I didn't have time to warn you" he commented, running his hand through her hair while she cried.
"My father wants to trap Sesshomaru into a marriage, and so he sent Miyuki here to seduce him… which is easier because she's on her moon time, and Sesshomaru won't be able to help himself, does it mean anything to him? No... just another rut with a bitch in heat...of course if my sister ends up with a pup then he may have to honor her by becoming the new lady of the western lands and new heir." Naoki continued trying to explain demon ways to her.
Kagome calmed down, listening to him talk, and then she wiped her tears.
"I will go with you to the ball tomorrow" she said raspy.
"Were you wanting to go with Sesshomaru?"Naoki asked seeing through her.
"Maybe, but I never would have asked, Sesshomaru isn't interested in me of all people and you've been so kind, and now I'm not working for him, I'm free to do what I want, and I would be happy to accompany you Milord" said Kagome feeling better already.
Naoki, was a bit unsure of her answer but perhaps he could get her to like him since Sesshomaru unknowingly rejected her.
A/N: Oh Sesshomaru… you have caused a biggggg problem for everyone…
