Kagome awoke with a slight throbbing pain in the side of her neck and remembered her wonderful night where she and Sesshomaru finally let their true feelings wash over them.
He stirred beside her before wrapping his arms around her midsection and laid wet kisses down her shoulder, hitting her sweet and sensitive spots.
"Milady you truly stir up feelings I didn't know existed " he murmured letting his hands wander once more…
It was later that morning, that they gathered their clothes and could actually behave themselves before floating back to the palace.
"I think we missed several steps in our courting milord" she giggled half-joking, half-serious.
"Yes we have caused a great scandal and you will be the first new Lady to take on the title officially without a proper audience and ceremony and protocols but it is done and it is your right by my side Kagome.
The guards let them through and in the courtyard Jaken and Rin awaited them. Jaken groveled and Rin bowed to the both of them.
"Welcome home Milord and Milady, Jaken has informed me of the wonderful; news just before you arrived as he sensed it once you reentered the grounds," Rin said excitedly.
Kagome glanced at him, not quite sure what she was referring to.
"Demons can sense that I have marked you as my new mate and you are officially in title and body the new Lady of the Western Lands and no one can take that from you, even in death," Sesshomaru explained to her, kicking at Jaken to get off the ground and walk with them as they entered the fortress.
News spread fast and the whispers began. Sesshomaru planned on getting things straightened out at lunch where he escorted Kagome.
Miyuki stared disgusted at both of them and stood up slowly and reluctantly allowed Kagome to take her place on Sesshomaru's left, it was reserved for the Western Lady…
Sesshomaru gathered everyone's attention before the food was served.
"As you can all sense, Lady Kagome is my new wife, I have given her my mark and she will now be known as the new Lady of the Western Lands and is to be treated and respected as such, anyone who doesn't compile will die by my hand, is everyone clear?" he challenged everyone who attended the meal.
There were murmurs of agreement and lunch resumed, awkwardly serval demons began conversing with Kagome and offer their somber congratulations as they didn't quite expect Sesshomaru to break all the protocols around courting a potential mate, if anything he insulted his mother who just entered the room during his announcement and stormed up to his seat and threw a goblin of red wine in his face.
Sesshomaru wiped the liquid away from the center of his face and greeted his mother.
"Good Afternoon Mother"
"You insolent brat! I have many things I would like to say but I will hold my tongue, for now when it suits your selfish desire, come see me in my rooms, we need to discuss some important sacrifices with your decision " she hissed softly, trying not to make more of a scene than she already was.
Sesshomaru didn't reply and she stormed out of the room, apologizing to some of the older populace as she left.
"I don't regret what we did, but can you please fix this embarrassment you have brought to your mother and me?" Kagome told him and got up and left as well, feeling a bit overwhelmed by what had just occurred.
A/N: They are finally together but still have some hurdles to get over still, Miyuki being one, and of course Lady Narumi who has just been completely demolished by demon society standards…. Who knows maybe even Toga rolled in his grave witnessing the family embarrassment that Sesshomaru has committed but as we all know, he does whatever the fuck he wants and people just have to go with it lol.
