Kagome stood in shock as she glanced through her beloved.
"InuYasha…?!" she whispered in disbelief.
"Kagome" he acknowledged with a slight smile.
Tears renewed in her eyes as she brought her kimono sleeves up to her face, attempting to wipe them away.
InuYasha's face began to scowl slightly before he began to reach for her before realizing he wouldn't be able to comfort her physically.
Stepping back, he scratched one of his ears in embarrassment and frustration.
"What are you doing here?" She asked finally, slowly composing herself.
"You needed me and called through your grief" he explained lightly.
Kagome's face began to crumble as many thoughts crashed down. InuYasha waved frantically at her, hoping to hold off her meltdown.
"We don't need to get into what has happened since I died, I already know everything, I know you're mated to my brother and the troubles you guys are facing with demonic politics."
Kagome calmed down a little and he sighed in relief.
"I forgive you, don't keep holding onto me like I'm not already gone. You have Sesshoumaru now, lean on him and let him into the remainder of your heart" InuYasha prompted, hoping to give her the answers she needed.
"He has an obligation to his firstborn child, a full demon born of a demoness… I foolishly didn't recognize my own heart before they slept together, you know me, I'd rather step away if it would help him focus on his duties, he already claims me as his true wife and the lady of the western lands, which I'm willing to fight for the right to keep that place by his side but InuYasha, what of his child?" she asked with some angst.
"Kagome… forget everyone else… do what is best for you and your bond with your mate," Inuyasha told her.
Kagome reached for him while he held her hands before fading away.
Days later, the party of 5 arrived from the North. Lord Kiyoshi, Lady Miyuki, Lord Naoki, a high-ranking general of theirs and a servant. Sesshoumaru, Kagome, Narumi, Jaken and Reiko awaited them to welcome them personally. Complimentary breakfast was ushered in once everyone was settled. The business began after their meal. The 2 groups transitioned into an assembled hall with a sitting area.
Lord Kiyoshi handed Sesshoumaru an amended scroll of conditions that the West prepared Sesshoumaru skimmed over the new addictions before setting the scroll down between them.
"Milord, I agree with most of what you have proposed except article 6" Sesshoumaru began.
"Article 6 is the most important, that my daughter be named as the next lady of the west and rightly at your side to raise your son…." he summarized without batting an eye.
"We have already established who is already Lady of the Western Lands, and as i wrote to begin with, Miyuki will be named mother of the heir and you will be allowed to take him back and raise him in his younger years, if indeed my child." he held his ground.
From the background of the main circle of lords, a voice came from behind.
"I don't see how you could possibly justify keeping a human as your proper mate Sesshoumaru
Miyuki's trembling voice called from behind the line of men.
Allowing her to come forth, she stood directly in front of him and Kagome.
A/N: Yes Kagome is still not quite letting InuYasha go and wonders if she is a giant burden on Sesshomaru? She may be able to take on Miyuki if it came down to it but not everyone will accept her as an acceptable wife of a demon lord.
