Chapter 3: An Idea to Change the World

"Come on... say it A.I.H.A. it is a cool name and you know it." Izuku said as he drank a beer, trying to peer pressure his own artificial intelligence.

"Sir, I understand that it will be your hero's name, but personally, I found it lackluster."

"Nah! It is great and makes sense. Kids will love it." Izuku said as he took a sip of his beer.

"Last time I checked, in children's books goblins aren't looked in a favorable light."

Izuku rolled his eyes as he laid on the couch "You never read a book in your artificial life A.I.H.A. Besides, you are thinking about trolls."

"I can assure you Sir; I am not."

"Please! I want to be called like that early to make sure it is a good name!"

"Like I said before, I find it lackluster to bad, Sir."

"Honestly," Izuku jumped from the couch at the new voice "I heard far worse."

From the shadows, a bald black man with an eye patch, wearing black clothes walked to him as Izuku grabbed a Razor Wing.

"A.I.H.A., I thought the building was locked! A.I.H.A.!?"

"Don't bother. We shut down the communications and that includes the artificial intelligence you build. I have to say, I am impressed." he tilted his head as the Razor Wing flew past his head. "Don't try that again. Anyway, my name is Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I have an offer for you."

"Awesome! My answer is no. Leave." Izuku said and gulped at the glare that Nick gave him "Please?"

"You are just like your father. Maybe a little more immature." Nick commented with a sigh surprising Izuku.

"Hold on; you knew my dad?"

Nick nodded "Willing to listen now?"

Izuku nodded "Sure. Want a beer?"

"I'm good. Now, do you know what S.H.I.E.L.D is?" Nick asked as he sat on a nearby chair.

"No idea." Izuku answered opening another can of beer.

"It is the acronym for Strategic Hazard Intervention, Espionage and Logistics Directorate. We are an organization backed up by the United Nations, and our mission is to intervene or prevent attacks that can cause global harm. Questions?"

"Is my dad still alive?"

"That's classified. Seeing as you don't have any questions, I'll continue; we need to recruit you for the Avengers Initiative. A program that makes S.H.I.E.L.D train the future heroes of the world. After investigating you, we decided that you will be a perfect candidate for it."

Izuku nodded as he finished his beer "Cool. What are the benefits I get?"

"Besides training on how to better your abilities, you will have all the resources that S.H.I.E.L.D has to offer to perfect your gadgets. And in due time, you will have the rights to access classified files." He added the last part knowing that Izuku's curiosity on his father, would be the cherry on top.

But Izuku looked unsure "Can... I think about it?"

Nick nodded "Of course." He took from his pocket a small device "Press the button if you decide to accept." and with that he left.

*Next Day*

"...And that happened yesterday." Izuku told to Rei that looked panicked.

"That damn Fury... Look; whatever that happens, don't join them. They will use you until you can't give anything else. And then... and then..." Rei shook his head "It doesn't matter. Just don't join them."

Izuku just starred as his uncle grabbed a beer and left to his room. He looked at the device he had in his hand.

It is clear that this Shield thing only brings problems. His uncle made it clear. But... they might be the only ones to know what happened to his father...

"Sorry uncle."

And with that, he pressed the button.

*Next Day*

"I'm glad you accepted my offer." Nick said as he and Izuku were being transported in some sort of aircraft.

Izuku ignored him, way to focused trying to figure out how the aircraft worked. "Midoriya!"

Izuku jumped from his seat and turned to the annoyed director "Will you guys let me play with this type of things?" He asked and Nick nodded.

"You will. We were actually hoping that with your technological innovations, you could improve ours."

Izuku smirked "With pleasure I'll see your toys, Nicky."

"Don't call me that."

*Midoriya's Residence*

Rei was drinking beer as he watched the news. He is mad at Izuku for just ignoring his advice and joining Fury.

Inko touched his shoulder "I know you didn't want Izuku going with that man, but what's the worst that could happen?"

Rei shook his head "You don't understand Ink. He wants to be a hero, but in S.H.I.E.L.D they will make him a soldier. And once his time passes, they will get rid of him."

Inko gulped "Maybe... maybe things are different now."

"No. No they aren't."

*Helicarrier*

If Izuku was impressed with the aircraft, he can't describe what he is feeling with the helicarrier. A flying fortress!? A flying military base!? He can't even begin to describe what it is!

As Nick kept showing him the multiple locations, like the command center, labs, armory, rooms and the training faculties. Where his only teammate was.

"Captain Rogers! Training hard as always I see." Nick said to Rogers who stopped and walked to them.

"Director Fury. And Izuku Midoriya I presume." He shook Izuku's hand "My name is Steve Rogers. I'll be acting as in-field leader of our team and as trainer. Let's do our best."

Izuku nodded smiling "Sure. Nice meeting you." Then he remembered something from history class "Your name is the same as Captain America, y'know, the World War 2 hero. Are you related somehow?"

Steve smiled "Well, I am that Captain America." At Izuku confused look he explained "I got frozen at the end of the war and managed to survive like that until a couple of months ago where they found me."

Izuku looked at Nick that nodded and made the math "You are 365 years old." He said and Steve nodded.

"I guess I am."

"You are a science miracle."

"Anyways," Nick interrupted "All your research has been moved to one of our labs, your new lab. I hope you enjoy your stay here, Green Goblin."
