Chapter 58 Liliech City
After getting back to Inoset Island, they find Gladion and Emily there as they go greet them.
Emily: Ash, Lillie! I heard what happened at the Underwater Hotel! Are you okay?
Before the two of them can answer, Gladion already beats them to it.
Gladion: We really don't need to ask. I can tell you are fine. (Turns to Lillie) You'll always be my little sibling and her friend and I'll always be protective of you. But I shouldn't second-guess your strength. Not after all the challenges we've overcome here in Ceolis.
Emily: (Annoyed that Gladion cuts her off, but sighs as she changes topic) Speaking of challenges, we're going to have one more now that there's a new Champion.
Ash: Though we didn't know who the new Champion is.
Emily: I was so surprised when I heard! It's kind of neat to think we've met a Champion before they became a Champion!
Lillie: Wait, what?
Gladion: (Surprised) Wait, you haven't heard it yet? (Ash and Lillie shake their heads) Agne is Ceolis' new Champion! The one with the Absol we met in Wonky Woods!
Lillie: Really? Triston didn't tell us about it...
Emily: I guess he has to worry about security at the hotel.
Ash: Hey, didn't Crolea tell us that Agne is in charge of space travel in Ceolis?
Emily: Yeah, that was mentioned on the news. It's pretty impressive! Back then, I just thought Agne was a trainer we happened to bump into. Anyway, the path north is still being guarded, so it looks like this is our next destination. South of here is Liliech City. There's a gym there, so we can battle the leader while we're waiting for the sailors to make sure the north coast is clear. Near Liliech City is a forest where the trees are many different colors! I'd like to see that as well!
After that, both Gladion and Emily surf away, and Ash turns to Lillie.
Ash: Should we go after her?
Lillie: Or perhaps we can do some training first. I mean, we didn't get to see the Training Rooms in the Underwater Hotel.
Then they decide to head to the Underwater Hotel to see what they can find.
In the third HP Room, they can find Nidoqueen, Clefable, Wigglytuff, Azumarill, Blissey, Slaking, Exploud, and Lickilicky. In the third Attack Room, they can find Nidoking, Machamp, Victreebel, Shiftry, Staraptor, Luxray, Rhyperior, and Electivire. In the third Defense Room, they can find Poliwrath, both forms of Golem, Aggron, Klinklang, Chesnaught, and Kommo-o.
In the third Special Attack Room, they can find Vileplume, Alakazam, Gengar, Ampharos, Beautifly, Gardevoir, Roserade, and Magnezone. In the third Special Defense Room, they can find Bellossom, Politoed, Slowking, Dustox, Ludicolo, Gothitelle, and Florges. And finally, the third Speed Room has Pidgeot, both forms of Raichu, Crobat, Jumpluff, Scolipede, and Talonflame.
The Pokemon that Ash and Lillie's capture is a Klinklang, considering they haven't seen one before in the Ceolis Region. And they also train their Larvesta to evolve into a Volcarona in the end.
And back at Inoset, they can find Wailmer, Tentacool, Frillish, Luvdisc, and Alomomola by surfing, and they can find a Magikarp with Old Rod, Arrokuda and Barraskewda with Good Rod, and finally, Wishiwashi, Bruxish, Alomomola and Luvdisc through Super Rod. Ash and Lillie decide to capture Wishiwashi and Bruxish as both of them are from Alola and Lillie misses the place. And they also train their new Cyndaquil and Froakie as they have become Typhlosion and Greninja in the end, much to their delight.
After leaving Inoset Island, they get to Roundabout Rapids, a place that keeps making them dizzy because of the flowing waters. And eventually, they finally reach Liliech City.
Lillie: I really don't like going through that...
Ash: I know, but here we are, the Liliech City...
As they look around, they are amazed at the sight of cherry blossoms, and they feel a lot of relaxation in this place. They find a man at the bay with a Sharpedo, he tells them about how the Roundabout Rapids are hard to cross and he can help them get back with the help of Sharpedo.
Ash: We had a Grass Type Gym, right? So I guess the gym here is a Bug Type.
Lillie: I can tell.
They find a black belt and talk to him.
Black Belt: You interested in an accessory you can't buy here in Liliech?
Then he gives them a Choice Band, much to their surprise.
Black Belt: Choice Band raises a Pokemon's attack power, but only allows it to use one move. Choose carefully.
Then they also find an Aroma Lady beside the roses.
Aroma Lady: If you have a Rose Incense, you can smell roses no matter where you are! I don't really go out of Liliech though, so you can have this one.
They get the Rose Incense as they bid the lady farewell.
After that, they get into the Pokemon Center as they are going to heal their Pokemon, also, the Nosy News is on air right now.
Nosy Nosepass: Good whatever time of day it is for you, viewers! I'm Nosy Nosepass here at Nosy News, keeping you up to date on the latest happenings in the Ceolis region! There are two important stories to report on today. One of them is a monumental moment for the history of the Ceolis Region! But I think the other one is more important to report on first. While Triston was away due to the other story I'll be reporting on, Team Portal raided the Underwater Hotel and stole a bottle! Why a bottle? I have no idea, and neither does Triston.
Ash: That was not an ordinary bottle though...that was the key to one of the Mythical Pokemon...
Nosy Nosepass: Triston said he had to suppress the urge to laugh when he learned they went through all that for a bottle. He let them walk away with it under a threat-promise that it was a one-time-only deal, which Team Portal agreed to. Still, Triston wants me to emphasize that this is no laughing matter! No one could have predicted it going to happen, but Triston is still ashamed for not being able to protect his hotel when it was under attack. If there's any silver lining to this, it's that the raid could have hypothetically been far worse than it actually was. None of the guests or staff were attacked or had any of their belongings taken. There was no property damage either. The one in charge of the raid was Quinn, who appears to be one of Team Portal's higher-ups and was also in charge of the BCC. Quinn is a certified scuba diver, and aside from their association with Team Portal, has no criminal record or history of otherwise concerning behavior. There were two trainers who confronted Quinn and the rest of the group there while Triston was away, named Ash and Lillie!
Ash and Lillie pale as they are on the news, now everyone is looking at them as they try to hide their embarrassment.
Nosy Nosepass: Triston arrived just as Ash and Lillie had defeated Quinn in battle, and Ash and Lillie have been dubbed the Underwater Hotel hero! At this time, the Underwater Hotel is now allowing any more guests. Triston and the sailors around Inoset want to make sure the coast is clear of Team Portal. Ash: That might work.
But as they go there, they find that a purple-haired girl is standing in front of Emily and Gladion, as she is apologizing.
Purple-Haired Girl: My sincerest apologies, dear, but Wendy isn't here right now. She went to Technicolor Forest to have a discussion about Team Portal with Aretha, the Grass Leader.
Emily: Oh, okay. Thanks for letting us know! I want to see the Technicolor Forest anyway, so we'll try to find her there.
After that, they leave without noticing Ash and Lillie nearby, and Ash and Lillie are surprised to see someone coming out from the Gym.
Delia: Ash? Lillie?
Ash: Mom? (Hugs her) What are you doing here?
Delia: Wendy has asked me to help her with the gym while she was gone for an outing. I heard the news, did you two seriously become the Underwater Hotel heroes?
Lillie: I guess we did...but now everyone is looking at us, what are we going to do?
Delia sighs as she takes them to the Pokemon Center, as she takes out some new outfits, and she has Ash and Lillie change them on. Ash is wearing a black jacket with a black undershirt, and he also wears green pants. While Lillie changes into a grey-colored shirt and skirt with stockings that are blue, grey, and pink.
Delia: Now I can see that you are looking much more different.
Ash: I hope these outfits work...
Lillie: Yeah...so Ms. Ketchum, is it true that the Gym Leader is in Technicolor Forest?
Delia: (Smiles) Of course, Wendy and I are good friends, but knowing you two, I suppose that you want to explore this place more before going there, right?
Ash: Yeah, I mean, Emily and Gladion have already gone there.
