Chapter 59 Tecnhicolor Forest
Now the two of them are walking on the streets with their new outfits, they notice a Snorlax sleeping on the road, and the house beside them has a Marble.
Lillie: Should we wake up the Snorlax?
Ash: Well, we did purchase some flutes in the Tinder Forest. If I remember...the Blue Flute cures sleepiness.
After Ash plays the blue flute, the Snorlax is not happy that it is awake, he snatches the blue flute and moves to another spot to sleep.
Lillie: I guess we did it?
Ash: I feel sorry for the blue flute...
Scientist: Oh, did you wake that Snorlax up?
The two of them turn around and find the scientist looking at them.
Scientist: It seems to like sleeping in this space near our shop, so we set out a blanket for it. They can be found in Aliora Meadow, but that's pretty far from here. What I'd like to see all nine of them. Eevee, plus all its evolutions. I know trainers can carry only six Pokemon at once, so I'd ask you for one at a time. I won't ask you to give them to me. Taking care of nine Pokemon would be very challenging for me. I just want to see them. I'll make it worth your time. I'm offering three rewards. A Marble, a Mega Stone, and a Super Rare Item.
Ash and Lillie are groaning as they don't have all 9 Eeveelutions, thanks for Lillie, whose mother is the president of the Aether Foundation, they manage to gather an Eevee, a Vaporeon, and a Leafeon for them to use.
Eevee Fan: (Sees Eevee) That's Eevee, it's so cute. (Sees Vaporeon) That's Vaporeon, its skin is so smooth and bubbly. (Sees Jolteon) That's Jolteon, it's a spiky one! Ash and Lillie take the rewards and thank her, and Super Rare Item turns out to be a Lucky Egg, which boosts the Experience in a battle. But then, she has another request.
Eevee Fan: Sorry to just spring this on you, but there's actually another favor I'd like to ask of you. So remember how I said I just wanted to see them, and wouldn't ask you to give them to me? I wasn't lying when I said raising nine Pokemon would be too much responsibility for me, but...Would you consider giving me just one? It doesn't matter which one. I'll love any of them.
Ash and Lillie look at each other, and then Lillie contacts her mother as she agrees to let her take Eevee.
Lillie: Sure, this Eevee is not actually ours, it is found by the Aether Foundation and it would be glad to have a new trainer to take care of.
Eevee Fan: Thank you so much! I'll take good care of Eevee! For all your kindness, I'll give you another reward!
And much to their surprise, they get a Master Ball from the fan, and she just said that she found it lying on the ground one day, and maybe one of those super-rich folks from Inoset Island dropped it.
And finally, before going to Technicolor Forest, they get to the birdhouse and find another speaker.
Mysterious Voice: So many colors! This reminds me of a road called Rainbow Road...
As they get to Technicolor Forest, Ash and Lillie are in awe at how many colors of the trees are there, they see that Emily and Gladion are there along with the two Gym Leaders.
Emily: Ash? Lillie? What's with the new look?
Ash: What do you think? You already saw the news.
Gladion: Well, that's kind of bad...I mean, the press sure is annoying sometimes.
Aretha: We met again, Ash, Lillie, Gladion, and Emily. Wendy and I were just discussing the growing threat of Team Portal and how we as Gym Leaders should be ready whenever and wherever they strike next.
Wendy: Nice to meet you. I'm Wendy, Bug-type Gym Leader and owner of the Silk Studio Fashion brand. The Underwater Hotel incident left the region in quite a shock. It seems like Team Portal has existed in the shadows for a long time, and just recently decided to show their faces. We've also gotten intel from Chelsea and Dylan, which I am assuming the four of you already know. (The four of them nod.) Chelsea said that Quinn, the admin in charge of the Underwater Hotel raid, was also the head of BCC, which was a front for Team Portal. Dylan said that Barker, Ceolis' most prominent businessman and one of the richest people in the region, also happens to be one of their admins.
Emily: Yeah, Ash, Lillie, Gladion, and I were there when the BCC showed their true colors. We stopped them along with Chelsea and a Pokemon Ranger.
Aretha: We heard about what happened at the BCC before all this, but we didn't know Team Portal was this dangerous back then. We've still probably only seen the calm before the storm. That's why we were having this discussion.
Wendy: Aretha also told me how you beat her gym. I supposed it's safe to assume you're here for my badge?
Ash: Of course. I am going to get my eleventh badge.
Gladion: But we didn't mean to interrupt your discussion for it.
Wendy: It's fine. For now, we've decided we'll train as much as we can for them. A gym battle will help with that. (Looks at Ash and Emily) And I must say, Delia is doing a fine job raising the both of you.
Emily: Wait, you know my mother?
Ash: Emily, didn't you meet Mom at her Gym? Mom said that they are good friends in the past.
Wendy: (Turns to Lillie and Gladion) And you two are Lusamine's children, right?
Lillie: You mean you also know our mother as well? No way...
Wendy: Well, the three of us are childhood friends, along with Pandora, of course. You probably heard of her as a famous model.
Emily: Yeah, I have seen her a lot on TV. Though I never knew Mom knew her.
Ash and Lillie are staying silent since only the two of them that are outside of Team Portal know that Pandora is the leader.
Gladion: But what are you doing here, Aretha?
Aretha: I come to this forest often. The gathering of Pokemon behind me is the Infant Tree Infantry.
Emily: Infant Tree Infantry? That's so adorable!
Ash and Lillie notice a group of Snover, Bonsly, and Phantump behind them, as they realize what she meant.
Aretha: I've been looking after them for a while. My dedication to nature extends beyond Aliora.
Wendy: I'll go to my gym. You can come by whenever you're ready. (Leaves)
Emily: (Turns to Ash and Lillie) We could go to the gym now...but I really want to see more of the forest!
Aretha: That's a wonderful idea. I'm sure Wendy wouldn't mind. The forest is beautiful...and there are other places here too. To the northwest is the tower of Heracross. The name is self-explanatory. To the northeast is Lovely Lake, which is also self-explanatory. If you've been collecting the Marbles scattered around Ceolis, Mable also lives here.
Ash: Really? We do have 38 of the Marbles with us.
Aretha: Have fun and good luck against Wendy. I'll be around here if you need me for anything.
After that, Aretha leaves, and both Gladion and Emily also leave the check-out more of the place.
The Pokemon that can be found in the Forest are Morelull, Shiinotic, Vespiquen, Beedrill, Bonsly, Phantump, Snover, and Shuckle. Ash and Lillie decide to capture a Shiinotic and a Shuckle.
As they are walking around, they find a treehouse as they enter the place, they see a woman.
Mable: I'm Mable. Welcome to my treehouse! It's pretty empty here, but this isn't my real house. This is just where I deal with Marble-related business. My assistant will give you rewards for every 10 marbles you find! The rewards will go up in value as you collect more Marbles. When you've found all 100, speak to me!
Lillie: Find 100? That sure is a lot...we only have what? 38.
Gothitelle: Don't worry, I can give you rewards for 10 or Marbles.
Then they are given 1000 dollars for 10, Treasures like Big Nuggets or Pearls for 20, Full Restore and Max Revive for 30, and they also learn that they can get a Comet Shard and Balm Mushroom for 40, TM81 X-Scissor for 50, Metagrossite for 60, Soul Dew for 70, Latiasite and Latiosite for 80, and a Marble for 90.
Before leaving, they find a Treecko who is delighted to see a person having 30 or more Marbles, so it joins Ash's team as his Sceptile is training it to make it evolve into the final form.
