Chapter 14

The next week...

SUKI AND AKITA'S POV

Something's changed. We can tell it's not a good change. Mommy is sad we can sense. Same with our daddies. I don't know what happened but I know Akita and my birthday will cheer them up! Akita and I have been planning a surprise in secret. We just have to convince mommy to come to Disneyland with us and our daddies. Our birthday is only two days away so we only have 1 day to finish our plan. Though we may be small we have schemed with Oba so we don't get in too much trouble for ditching them on a ride while we stay off.

"Are you two ready? Does anything else need to be planned?" Oba asked us as we sat at our drawing table. We looked at eachother and looked at the sheets in front of us. Oba had neatly drawn out our plan since our first drawings didn't really make too much sense after forgetting which side was up. "Sis, are we forgetting anything? Oba's gone over it like 20 times so I think we are okay" Akita asked, throwing a teasing glance at her Oba. "Yeah I think we will have it me-mem-menoriced (Memorized) for the rest of our lives" Suki giggled at them with a blush. Oba scrunches her nose up and fakes getting grumpy at us as she sticks her tongue out. "I just wanna make sure you girls don't get lost after the car takes off with your parents trying to find me" she giggled as she hugged us. "You two are so caring thinking of your parents". She pulled away and told us to go play and we can get the plan going later tonight since we are ready. We ran down the stairs as fast as our little legs could carry and out the door for some play time.

NORMAL POV

It was monday. Kagome had started a new job at a law firm. She had made sure had gotten the days off beforehand for the girl's birthday. But it wasn't too hard with her old bestie Sango as her boss. She had this job pre-set before she came back home. Luckily she was able to go to school again, after the babies were born. with the help of Kikyou and some friends that looked after them since they didn't attend school and just worked instead, their own choice of course. She passed her exams when they were two and a half and worked as an intern at a law firm in Okinawa until she flew back with the girls to live in tokyo. Kagome was busy working away at her desk in her office when she heard a knock at her door. She looked up and saw it was a delivery man holding two vases of flowers. She waved for him to come in and he pushed the door open and placed the flowers on the table beside her. "Delivery for Ms.Kagome Higurashi" he smiled and bowed as he left. "Thank you!" she called after him. She took the first note from the flowers and read it

'Kagome I'm sorry for how I acted. You are not a piece of meat to be fought over and I should have listened to you when you told us your intentions towards us. Please forgive me. I know it may not be right away but hopefully soon, not just for us but for Suki.

-With love Sesshomaru'

She sighed already anticipating what the next note would read.

'Kagome you know I'm not the best at this but I hope you accept this as an apology for my behaviour the other night. We ended a long time ago and I need to accept that and respect your wishes and move on. I'm glad we can still be friends and co-parent Akita.

-Love Inuyasha'

Kagome sighed harder and put her head in her hands. Sango knocked on the door and Kagome jolted her head back up, seeing who it was, looking at the door motioning for her to come in. "What's all this about Kagome?" Sango wiggled her eyebrows at her bestie. "Don't even start Sango" she sighed again, not knowing what to do. Her daughter's birthday was in two days. She barely spoken to or saw the girls' fathers in between that time. Other than when they get picked up when they go over to their houses for the day or overnight visits. Even then sometimes her mom or grandpa would do the switch when she was busy. "I don't know what to do! You know what happened last time we were all together!" she growled in frustration and threw her head back. "Yes, yes I know they both got all hot and possessive over you and almost killed each other" Sango laughed and smirked in her direction. "It's not funny!" Kagome almost yelled at her. "This is serious. I can't have them killing each other. Suki and Akita still dont even know the other night even happened and i'm keeping it that way". Kagome chewed at her thumb pleading with her eyes for advice. "I would suggest having a real conversation between the three of you and all decide if you can even be around each other civilly then go from there" Sango proposed. 'I don't know how well that would work but it's the only good idea so far' Kagome thought to herself.

Sango snatched the note cards off the table while Kagome was distracted by her thoughts. "Hey, give those back!" Kagome yelled out, broken away from her thoughts. "This is the main reason I came in then you went off about your boy troubles" Sango laughed. She read the notes quizzically. "They are trying, you can tell' she looked over with a sympathetic stare and placed the cards back on the table. "I know, I just can't have anything serious with either, it would hurt the other and I don't want that" Kagome sighed. Sango's eyes had a playful gleam go across them. "You do know polygamy is a thing, right?". Kagome's face lit up a bright red. "I would never…. They would never do that and I don't think I could do that". She smirked again before walking out the door "Suggest it if the time ever comes up you never know'. She finally left, leaving Kagome's thoughts rolling on that possibility with a bright red face. 'Maybe they would consider it? If it meant the greater good for the girls seeing all of us in a relationship?'. Kagome shook her head and went back to work pushing the thought to the back of her head.

AFTER WORK

Kagome got home around 6:10pm, there was a car accident causing her to be late getting home to the girls. She slipped her shoes off at the front door and put her slippers on. Placing the vases of flowers at the side table. She walked into the living room and saw Suki and Akita curled up cuddling on the couch together watching a cartoon. "Hey Girls! Mommy is home!" She called out to them and they jumped off the couch and ran to their mom, hugging her legs tight , one on each side. "How was your guys' day?" she asked, hugging them back. "Good mommy" they said in unison. "Our daddies are coming for dinner!" Akita squealed loudly, making Kagome stiffen at her words. "When did this plan happen?" Kagome asked them sheepishly. She cringed internally at the thought of the tension that would be at dinner. "Obasan helped us call them earlier to ask them, they left their number when they picked us up before incase of em-emer-emergenthy" (Emerency) Suki said softly. She still had trouble with words. They were advanced for their age being half and quarter demon between the two of them, but still had some troubles with things having a human side.

"Well I'm sure we will have lots of fun tonight" Kagome smiled the best she could with her nerves going wild. The girls picked up on her nervousness right away. Something definitely wasn't right. They looked at eachother and mind linked, something they only recently found out they could do. "'Somethings wrong with mom, why is she nervous now that we said that our daddies are coming?"' Suki asked threw the link. Akita gave her a worried stare. "'Did we do something? Maybe we made our daddies mad and they got mad at her"'. Kagome walked to the kitchen and the girls quickly followed making sure their mom was okay. "I hope not," Suki said as she cut the link. "Mommy, what's wrong?" Akita exclaimed as she popped up beside Kagome. Kagome stiffened. "Nothing babygirl, why would you think that?" She cursed internally at their intuition on emotions. "We can tell you're nervous momma!" Suki said louder than normal. "We don't know why, but you don't need to be, it's just our daddies!" Akita exclaimed. Kagome signed and crouched down bringing both girl's in for a hug. "You girl's don't need to worry about me, I'm fine, just tired from work". She gave the girls a reassuring smile and went back to preparing the food Oba had left out for them. The girls looked at eachother still not convinced but they left to go play while they waited.

A/N

Wow so many years passed and so much has happened! I thought now that my life has died down I would continue with this to keep myself busy. It will be going in a little bit of a different direction now that I'm more mature in my writing and life experiences to add to the story. Hope you all still enjoy it. It will be getting more M rated as implied in this chapter hope that doesn't throw people off though. Love feedback from you guys so please let me know what you think. But please remember I'm a human just like you with feelings. Best regards.
