As soon as the pup saw Buyo, the pet shop erupted in a chaotic symphony of hisses, yowls, barks, growls. The puppy leapt about wildly, yipping and pawing at Kagome's legs. The leash, instead of keeping the pup restrained, became an obstacle to avoid, and she pivoted erratically to escape the hyperattentive dog. Buyo hissed and squirmed, the fur on his hackles raised as he strained against her. Buyo lept from her arms; tins of cat food flew across the floor. With the puppy under foot and Buyo escaping, Kagome lost her balance and fell into the man behind her.
