"Care to help me up?"

"Why should I?"

"Well, considering your dog's the one that knocked me over, then trampled me, it'd be the polite thing to do," she said sweetly, her voice dripping with honey as she expectantly held her hand up. He frowned down at her, his eyes narrowing dangerously. Kagome didn't blink, meeting his gaze head on. The man considered her for a second, then with a huff, he extended his own. Twin magenta stripes twisted around his wrists, disappearing into the cuff of his sleeve, and Kagome raised her brows at them. Not a man, then.
