Hope you like it guys! Thanks for all the follows, favourites and reviews! It means so much to me! Are your reviews correct? Well, let's see...
-P.O.V. Chiron-
I stared at the boy in front of me. The hair as dark as a hellhound's fur, the eyes as green as the leaves on a dryad's tree, and the scar. I was certain it was Zeus's lightning bolt. "Harry, here. I believe you would like to know more about who you are and what you were destined to do, and when we are done discussing that, we can discuss a theory I have." I said, and I handed him a roll of paper that, like the First Great Prophecy, was tied on the Oracle's necklace. Rachel had given it to me, and I had also first heard it 3 centuries ago, courtesy of the God Apollo. Upon realising its return, I had searched all of America thinking the answer lay there. Then, when Grover said he had been on holiday with his British relatives and found demigods there, I knew that's where the child was. "Harry, if you have trouble reading, I understand. All demigods have dyslexia, just like Percy." I said.
"I've never had trouble reading. Ok, here goes nothing…
'The Boy Who Lived, The Chosen One,
When seventeen, his victory, once prophesised will be won.
The shape of a battle mark, his scar,
Will show which of the Big Three one of his parents are.
A war shall begin, one that he shall start,
And win through the goodness of his heart.
At Half-Blood hill he'll make good friends,
And have that kind of friendship that never ends.'"
"Well, guys, I'm used to prophecies about war being about me, but they usually involve stuff like 'hero's soul cursed blade shall reap' and stuff like that. And you're telling me that this 13-year-old kid is meant to win a war through the goodness of his heart and win another one? The Fates have got me on their list of 'Worst people in the world', I'm sure!" Percy said. Poor Percy, going through so much and he was only 17! You'd think, after centuries of seeing heroes die young, I'd get used to it. But it made each time worse, countless demigods, children of Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Ares, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, Dionysus, and all the minor Gods, all wanting to prove their worth but dying or going insane in the process. Annabeth and Percy felt they needed stay together at Camp now for fear of losing each other. I was just as traumatised, and it wasn't just because Mr D was so insufferable at Camp. "Wait, I get that this prophecy speaks of a child with a scar, and I fit that description, but a prophesised victory?" he said.
"Who else is shocked that this kid is so accepting of the fact that prophecies and stuff? Isn't this a normal mortal school?" Percy asked. I knew this was a school for magic. I had my theories about this place, but I thought it be wiser to share them later. Percy saw that no one was going to answer him, so he closed his mouth. "And anyway, my father is James Potter, not some god." Harry said. I knew he was done speaking, but I could see cogs whirring in his head so I made an expression I hope said go on. I seemed to be correct as he said. "Wait, lightning bolt, Greek God... is my father... Zeus?"
"Chiron seemed to have forgotten to tell me about this Greek Gods thing. I have studied magic for many years and I haven't figured this out," Dumbledore said. He seemed like a learned man, and I knew that because of the mist he couldn't find out anything except for myths. "And as for that prophesied victory..." Dumbledore finished. He got out something that looked like a dish with runes, and a silvery substance neither solid nor liquid. I was polite enough not to ask, but Percy, gods bless him, said "What's that?"
"A penseive. It shows me my memories. I find my mind rather like a sieve, so I use this to help me recall my memories when I need to most." Professor Dumbledore replied. He got a small vial of the same silvery substance, unstopped it, and poured it in. He swirled it around, and the face of a woman was shown in its depths.
-P.O.V. Percy Jackson-
I thought I was going crazy when I saw the beetle in the bottom of the bowl. Wait, it wasn't a beetle, it was a woman. "That's Professor Trelawney! I hate her. She teaches divination and on my very first lesson she said that I was going to die, and she said she saw it in some soggy old tea leaves. Did she say a prophecy about me? Because it's probably a load of bullshit." Harry exclaimed. Holy Hades, if she predicted the death of an ordinary boy, I wonder what she would do with me. Maybe something like 'he shall suffer in Tartarus forever'. And I totally wasn't wondering what divination was, nope, not me. "What's divination?" Gods damnit, Percy, know when the hell to shut up! "Divination is the art of predicting the future, and although most students say it is a waste of time, I've heard Miss Patil and Miss Brown are rather fond of Professor Trelawney. Now, Harry, Perseus, Chiron, let us look at this prophecy Sybil told me when she applied for her job." He stirred the silvery stuff again, and I thought it was like his memories or something. Eww. I thought maybe if the Stolls were here they would try steal it and then give it to someone for a prank. But not me. Chiron trusts me. Crazy bug-lady started speaking, and this is the crazy stuff she said:
'The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…'
It wasn't even a prophecy! Nothing like what Rachel would say. Apollo would be ashamed that this woman predicted the future. "Wait, so… I have power Voldemort knows not? That is what she meant about the Dark Lord, right? Snape calls him the Dark Lord." Harry said. Poor kid, he was still new to prophecies being about death and you either saving the world or dying and stuff like that. Did I really look like that when I heard the First Great Prophecy for the first time? "No, Percy, you did not look like that. You looked worse," Chiron said, as if he read my mind "Now, I have a theory about what you call 'The Wizarding World' and how it ties in nicely with the fact that the Greek and Roman Gods are real. I'm also confident Annabeth had a cousin, Magnus, who was son of Frey, a Norse God. And Percy, you met some people who happened to know the Egyptian Gods too?"
"Yes, Chiron I did. But I don't get how that fits in with this place. You told me there was magic schools all across the world." I said. It didn't make sense really. Did England even have myths? "So I believe that this school is founded on English legend. People say that the difference between myths and legends is one is based on fact, the other fiction to explain things people did not understand. You have had some people from English legend come here, I assume, Dumbledore? Like Merlin, for instance?" Chiron said. Thin Rapunzel, who I now knew was called Dumblydor, nodded in agreement. "So," Chiron continued, "The real difference is that myth moves with the heart of the West, whereas legend spreads. There are magic schools in America, France, Bulgaria, and in multiple other countries, with Hogwarts being the first. Now Percy, you're probably wondering why Harry's father stayed with him." I was wondering nothing of the sort. "Well, when Thalia was born, Zeus was sent back in time by a few years, because of a very angry Hera and became a boy known as James Potter…"
And that's this chapter done! What do you think of Chiron's theory. I think it's pretty good, if I do say so myself. Next chapter will be like a flashback chapter, to when Zeus was James Potter, with nothing except magical ability and a natural skill on a broom... Please follow, favourite and review! I'd love to see your take on the story!
