Brennans phone began to ring, she chuckled and answered, "Brennan," It was Booth. "Hi Booth, I'm fine. It seems like I won't be staying long in Chicago, Michael has decided to not have any funeral arrangements. I'll be flying back to DC in one day." she continued. Erin looked at her mother with fascination. She moved like Erin and she composed herself just like her. She wasn't as tall as her mother but she hoped to be 5'8 one day. "No you do not need to fly here Booth. I'll be back. It's just one more day. It feels nice..to be back. But I'm fine. I promise. I'll see you soon. Bye." She hung up the phone. Erin smiled, "I look forward to seeing DC. I'm glad you live in the city because I don't imagine myself living in the suburbs…..Also...did Anthony speak to you about my car? Will I be able to have it shipped?" Erin asked. Brennan nodded, "Yes, Anthony and I did discuss your car. It will be getting shipped. It's not right to sell the car your father just gave you. Did you drive it often?" Brennan asked as she took her coffee mug into her hand. Erin smiled and nodded, "I did. It's my prized possession. It's even in my name! I've always wanted a Jeep Wrangler and when I got my permit. I always found an excuse to drive. Dad says If i can drive in this city, I can drive anywhere. Have you seen the way people drive here? It's insane but exciting." Erin said, mesmerized. "Fantastic. You'll have to drive me around DC a few times before we take you to get your license." Brennan said, smiling. Erin clapped her hands, "Sounds like a plan," she said as she took her hand out to shake Brennan's. Brennan took Erins's hand into her own and shook it. "You are incredible Erin Grace." she said as she let go. Erin blushed, "Thank you, thanks for making breakfast. Want to help me finish packing?" she asked Brennan. "You're welcome. I'd love to." she responded.

The pair continued to make small talk while packing Erin's things. They didn't worry about the rest of the house. Erin took some of Michaels clothing and items. She had all their pictures on a hard drive. She knew Anthony would be taking care of the rest of the property. Anthony had informed her that her father left her everything. The apartment, his car, and money. Erin advised Anthony to sell the house and the car. She didn't want them and didn't need them. She would keep the money in a trust until she reached the age of 25. The next day Erin and Temperance made their way to the front door with their belongings. Temperance opened the door and placed her items in the hallway along with Erin's. Erin looked back and allowed one tear to fall. She was done crying in the home she only knew. She shut off the final light and closed the door, "Are you alright, honey?" Brennan asked as she placed her hand on Erin's shoulder. Erin nodded, "No, but I will be. Just need time." she said as she attempted to smile. Brennan nodded and they both headed down to the SUV where Anthony was waiting for them.

On the flight Brennan was asking Erin a series of questions, in an effort to get to know her daughter more. Erin smiled, "Well I'll answer your questions in order. It'll be easier." She smiled as she placed her hair behind her ears. "My favorite food in terms of takeout is Chinese Food. I listen to anything in regards to music, I'm big on Rock and Indie. My favorite subjects are Science and English. Which is not a surprise, I spent a lot of my time with my dad at Northwestern. Decaying bodies is not an issue for me." Erin said. Brennan laughed, "That's a relief, considering what I do for a living. I also loved science when I was in high school. Do you enjoy dissection?" she asked Erin. Erin shook her head, "No, I can see them dead but I can't cut them open. My dad let me make an incision on the human abdomen when I turned 14 and I passed out. Mind you, I asked him if I could. I don't know why I asked." Brennan placed her hand on her forehead laughing. "I may be a little biased, but maybe you were too young. I enjoy dissection. It fulfilled my inquisitive nature. My dad, your grandpa, was a science teacher. He taught me a lot growing up." Brennan said. Erin smiled, "I have a grandpa?" she asked. Brennan nodded, "Yes you do. He'll be thrilled to meet you." she said.

Erin looked at her hands, "Do you remember giving birth to me?" she asked. Brennan understood why Erin didn't look at her directly. "Yes, I won't be able to forget. It was painful, but it was a beautiful experience." Brennan said, looking at Erin. Erin looked up, wanting to hear more about her birth from her mother. "You came out with a full set of brown hair. Eyes as dark as the ocean, but blue nonetheless. You cried only a little, but when the doctor placed you in my arms, you stopped crying…" Brennan took a deep breath. Erin smiled, "I didn't know you held me...I stopped crying as soon as you held me?" she asked. Brennan nodded, "Yes, it's like you knew who was holding you. You didn't cry when your father held you….Erin, after I held you, letting you go was so hard, so ridiculously painful, but I knew that your father would have given you the best life. I really hope you know that." Brennan said. Erin's smile began to fade, "I do." she said. Erin continued to look at Brennan, "If my dad had not died…..would you have wanted to meet me?" Erin asked hopefully. "Yes, I wanted to meet you much sooner, but your father said that you wouldn't take it well. I respected his decision. I didn't want to undermine him." Brennan said. Erins mouth widened, "You wanted to meet me? But my dad said no? He didn't think I couldn't handle it?" she stared at the seat in front of her. She sighed and smacked, letting her crossed arms fall to her lap," I mean it's pretty useless to be upset since he's dead." Erin said as she shrugged her shoulders, she looked at Brennan, "Thank you for telling me that." she then looked at the digital map on her seat's screen, "We'll be there in an hour." Erin said. She'd be lying to herself if she said she wasn't nervous. She was moving to a new city, she would be starting a new school in the fall, she was moving in with her mom. She already felt comfortable around her, which was a weird thing for her. Erin was confident in who she was and how she spoke. Brennan reacted and interacted with her just like she would. Brennan smiled, "Yes, we'll be home in an hour." she said.
