Brennan handed Erin a pen so she could sign the forms to accept the ID card. Erin giddy with excitement eagerly signed and awaited for her ID card to be made. "Whenever you get off school early or feel like stopping by the lab, just make sure you have this," Brennan said as she attached Erin's ID card to her crop top. Erin jumped a little, "I can come visit whenever I want?!" she asked. Brennan smiled, "Yes, of course! Come on!" Brennan said as she led the way to the Medical Legal Lab. Erin used her card to get onto the forensic platform and smiled while using it, "Good morning, everyone." Brennan said to her colleagues. "Hi, guys! I'll be hanging around today. If that's okay, Dr. Saroyan?" Erin said in Cam's direction. Cam smiled at the young girl's manners, "Of course! Feel free to watch. Just dont please touch the remains." she said. Erin made a face at the remains on the table, "Wouldn't dream of it, thank you Dr. Saroyan. Mom, I'm going to hang out in the sky lounge." Erin said in Brennan's direction. Brennan nodded, "Have fun! Let me know if you decide to go to the museum please." she said while putting on her gloves. Erin nodded and left the forensic platform.
Erin approached the sky lounge and was awed by the view of the Jeffersonian. She had a clear view of her mom and her colleagues working and she quickly took a seat to observe her mother at work. She did the same with her dad but she would always get in trouble when she was caught in the lab. Erin felt the welcome warmth of her mothers friends, her 'aunts' and 'uncles'. She smiled recalling the memory of Angela calling herself her aunt. She placed her headphones into her ears and began to write the myriad of emotions she felt. The words escaped her. Brennan would quickly glance from the remains to Erin writing. She smiled and continued with her work. Erin was enjoying herself when an intern interrupted her by sitting at her table. She smiled quizzically, "Hi? Can I help you?" she asked the older man who was smiling right back at her. "Hi, I'm Jasper. I've never seen you around here before. Are you a new intern?" he asked her. Erin was a genius so she knew when a guy was flirting with her. This man was clearly in his twenties and Erin didn't know how to proceed. Angela looked up at the skylounge, "Uh, looks like Erin has company." she said as she pointed towards the young girl. Brennan's eyes went straight to the sky lounge, "She's 15! Walk away, please!" she immediately shouted. Erin's eyes went wide and started to laugh at the very frightened intern. Erin laughed, "Yeah, 15. Sorry buddy." she said as the intern quickly squirmed away. Angela began to laugh and so did the rest of her colleagues, "She's gonna bring you trouble, sweetie." Angela said to her best friend. Brennan rolled her eyes, "it's her second day in DC and grown men are already hitting on my daughter." she said as continued to observe the remains.
The day continued and Erin packed up her things and headed to her mother's office. She walked by other doctors who stared at her with curious looks. She was approaching her mother's office when she heard Booth and her mother discussing the case. Erin knocked at the door, "Hi Mom, Hi Booth, May I come in?" Erin asked with a smile. Brennan and Booth smiled, "Of course honey. Did you have any more visitors?" Brennan asked her daughter with a raised eyebrow. Booth stared at his partner with a confused look which Erin noticed. "She means if I had another grown man flirt with me while I sat in the skylounge, Which I did not. I think the word has spread." Erin said laughing and while taking a seat on the couch. Booth stood up and fixed his jacket, "A grown man?! Flirted with you?" he asked protectively. This made Brennan smile. She knew Booth would protect her daughter. Erin smiled, "Yes, he didn't get too far though..Mom yelled at him to go away." Booth grinned and smiled at Brennan and immediately went in for high five, "Alright, Bones!" Brennan gladly gave her partner a high five. "You know Booth, you won't be able to stop the boys flirting with me at school." Erin said slyly. Attempting to gain a reaction from both adults. Brennan raised her left eyebrow, "let's not go there, Erin. Anyways, Booth and I have to go interrogate a few suspects. Would you be fine here? Or would you like to go home?" she asked her daughter. Booth kept his gaze at the young girl, "I'll stay here. I'll probably go see what Angela is working on, get to know her." Erin said while keeping eye contact with Booth. She began to chuckle and Booth went over to Erin and ruffled her hair, "Boooth! I was kidding about the boys!" she shouted. Brennan fixed Erin's hair and kissed her head. "Alright, we'll see you later sweetheart." Brennan said as her and Booth walked out of the office.
Angela was working on the Angelatron when she heard the light knock at her door, "Hi, sweetie. Come on in." Angela greeted Erin and Erin strolled in and stood by Angela, "Looking for a murder weapon?" Erin asked. Angela nodded, "Yes, so much fun." She said not excited at all. Erin chuckled while looking at the paintings around her aunt's office.
My mom told me about how you both met. I find it odd that you two are best friends but I get it." Erin said. Angela smiled, "Why is it odd?" she asked her niece. Erin walked back to sit on the stool next to Angela. "Well, we both know who my mother is. How she contains herself. Figuratively and literally speaking. You, you're an artist with a free spirit. With the knowledge of sarcasm, etc. You were able to connect with my mom and I love that." Erin said as she continued to watch the multiple weapons display on the monitor. Angela knew what Erin meant and sometimes she thought about their friendship as well. Angela stopped working on the murder weapon and turned to face Erin, "I never got to give you my condolences, Erin. I'm so sorry about your dad. I assume you two were close?" she asked the young girl who's quizzical eyes turned into a somber gaze. Erin looked at the floor and then at Angela. "Thank you. Yes, we were. It was the typical dad and daughter duo. We'd go to Lollapalooza, hockey games, baseball games, and I'd go to this office sometimes." Erin said smiling. "Sometimes he'd be too busy though. He missed concerts and important games. He would never notice when I would sneak out either.." Erin said laughing and then quickly changed to a serious demeanor, "Don't tell my mom that, please. I don't think I'd be able to sneak out with her." she quickly stated. Angela bit her lip to stop herself from laughing, "Your secret is safe with me, sweetie. I also don't think you'll get away with that either." she said.
