The next day both Brennan and Erin were getting ready for their poolside "date" with the Booth boys. Brennan was dressed in a pair of khaki shorts and a tank top which was covering her black one piece swimsuit. She was packing up a cooler full of Parker's favorite juice boxes, Booth's beer, and water bottles. Erin was wearing a white beach dress covering her two piece blue swimsuit. She had her sunglasses on the top of her head, allowing her dark hair to frame her face. Erin yelled from her bathroom, "Mom, do you need me to bring the sunscreen?" and Brennan smiled to herself. She didn't think she would get tired of hearing that. "Yes, please. Thank you. Are you ready to go honey?" Brennan yelled back. Erin walked into the kitchen and nodded. "Yes, mom. Let's go meet the boys!" she said.
The girls walked into the pool area and Booth spotted them right away. "Hey, Bones! Hey, Erin! Great day for the pool. The sun is shining and we're ready to get in the water." he said as he clapped his hands. Brennan leaned in to give him a side hug and a kiss on the cheek and did the same to Parker. Erin gave him knuckles while Booth's hand was on Parker's shoulder. "Erin, this is my son Parker. Parker, this is Bone's daughter, Erin." he said as he looked down to Parker's gaze. Parker smiled, "Hi Erin! I didn't know Bones was a mom. You're lucky, Bones is awesome!" the little boy said excitedly. Erin chuckled and so did Brennan. Erin placed her knuckles out so Parker could bump them. "Nice to meet you too, Parker! Wanna play with sharks?" Erin asked enthusiastically and Parker's eyes went wide, "Yes!" he said as he jumped. Erin took out her sunscreen, "Cool, let me put on some sunscreen first!" she said as she placed her bag on the chair. Booth and Brennan smiled at their children. They both sat down and took out two beers. "Looks like they hit it off!, huh Bones?" Booth asked as he took off his shirt. Brennan smiled and also took off her tank top to reveal her black one piece. They clinked their beer bottles and took their first sips. Brennan watched as Erin began applying the sunscreen on her face. Erin took off her dress and that's when Brennan saw it..the shiny navel piercing on her daughter.
Booth saw it as well and quietly choked on his beer, "Erin? What is that?!" he yelled and surprised Erin. Brennan hit Booth on the arm, "Booth! That's my job. Erin, when did you get that?!" Erin startled, looking at both Brennan and Booth confused. Erin raised her shoulders, "What? This?" she asked as she pointed to her belly button. Both Booth and Brennan nodded and Brennan walked up to Erin and knelt down to look at the piercing. Parker looked over from the shallow side of the pool, "That looks so cool!" he shouted. Erin laughed, "I got it 8 months ago….Dad didn't know...I went with some friends. It is awesome isn't it!" she yelled the ending to Parker. Brennan pulled up her shades, "Anything else I should know about?" she asked and turned Erin around to look at her daughter fully, "Hidden tattoos?" she asked.
Booth stood up and walked towards the girls, "No, no tattoos. Just this. Promise. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about it. I didn't think it was a big deal." Erin responded. Brennan sighed a breath of relief. "It's okay. Just no other body modifications without my consent, please." Brennan said as she gave Erin a smile. Erin returned the smile and turned to Booth. "I'm assuming, you're going to have me under your watchful eye from now on?" she asked Booth. Booth gave her his cocky grin, "You got that right!" he said as he returned to his seat. Erin walked over to Parker to begin to play with his Sharks. Brennan also returned to her seat. The adults watched their children giggle and play with sharks. Erin wasn't afraid to play as a child and interact with Parker. Most teenagers wouldn't want to play in the water and most girls don't like to get their hair wet either. Everyone knows that. It was time for lunch and Parker skipped towards his dad to get dried down with a towel. Erin walked over to her chair and placed her sunglasses on her eyes and laid onto the towel to sunbathe. As the day got warmer, more of the apartment's residents began to enter the pool area as well. A group of 4 guys walked by Erin's chair and were clearly checking her out. The adults were busy eating their lunch and talking with Parker about his latest field trip to the zoo.
The guys decided to sit by Erin and soon one of them walked over to Erin and blocked the sun from her view. Erin pulled up her sunglasses, "Can I help you?" she asked, grinning. The guy sat down at the end of Erin's chair, "Maybe, did you just move in?" he asked with a grin as well. Erin sighed, "Yes, I did. Just moved in with my mom." Erin said, pointing towards her mom. The guy looked over to Brennan, "Woah, the bone's lady is your mom? At least, I know where you get your looks from." he said. He brazenly placed his hand on Erin's leg. "Buddy, I'm 15!" Erin yelled which caught the attention of her mother. The guy shot up and placed his arms up, "Sorry….I-uh, you don't look 15. I'm sorry!" he yelled towards Brennan and she stood up and placed her hands on her hips. Erin laughed and picked up her things and to move much closer to her mother. She looked at the guy, "She won't bite. I do though. Thanks for the compliment….I think." Erin said while beginning to walk away. Booth stared daggers at the group of men. Erin placed her belongings on the chair next to Brennan and put on her dress. She thought that would make Booth feel much better. "He said I looked much older than 15..do I?" Erin asked her mother. Brennan smiled, "Yes, in that bathing suit you do. You are more developed than other 15 year olds." and continued to read her book. Erin chuckled at Booth's uncomfortable face. Parker looked at his dad and asked, "What's developed dad?" and Booth groaned and covered his face with his hat.
