Brennan walked into the Jeffersonian and she was glowing. She stopped into her office to see Booth already laying down on her couch. She rolled her eyes and threw a pillow at him. Booth woke up startled, "Well, good morning to you too, Bones!" he said, throwing the pillow back on the couch and standing up. Booth looked at his partner, she was smiling while looking at her computer screen, "Interesting emails, Bones? What's with the smile?" he asked as he leaned on her desk. Brennan looked up, "It's not emails. It's Erin, she told me she loved me this morning before I came into work. It's not logical to feel this rush of endorphins, but it made me so happy." she responded. Booth chuckled, "It's love Bones. Like I said, love is not what you make in chemistry sets." he said as he picked up the picture frame of her and Erin. Brennan wasted no time in printing out pictures of the pair and placing them in her office or setting them as her wallpaper. An email ping from both their devices alarmed them, they made quick eye contact and looked at their emails. Brennan spoke first, "I've been invited by Oxford to guest lecture this weekend." she said with bright eyes. Booth met her gaze and showed her his email, "I've been invited to Scotland Yard to guest lecture. Bones are we going to London?" he asked with a twinkle in his eyes. Brennan was ecstatic she loved London, she loved Oxford. She looked at Booth, "Do you think Erin would like to come? She could use a trip, a distraction." she asked. Booth stood straight to forward the email to the FBI director. "I don't see why she wouldn't. Why does she need a distraction? She's still hurting, huh?" he asked with sad eyes. Brennan puffed her cheeks up with air and let the air out, "Last night we had just purchased her school uniforms and I redirected to the main menu on my browser and Erin saw an article. About Michael. His autopsy had been released. It was confirmed that Michael was intoxicated in the car crash and had heroin in his system." she said that last sentence quietly. Booth placed his hand over his open mouth, "Oh, god. That's horrible" he said as he placed his hand on her shoulder. "That's not the worst part. The report also confirmed that he was dying, colon cancer. He knew he was dying, and he didn't tell Erin." she said as she placed her own hands on her forehead. Brennan continued, "Booth, she was inconsolable. Hyperventilating. Before I knew it, I was consoling her. I didn't think twice. I surprised myself." she confessed. Booth smiled and squeezed her shoulder, "Those were your maternal instincts, Bones. You did the right thing." he said. Brennan nodded and looked up her partner and smiled, "Yes, yes I did. Thanks, Booth. I must go confirm this lecture with Cam. I'm sure she knows about it, but I have to confirm." she said as she stood up. Booth stepped back, "Yeah, I have to do the same at Hoover. Call me, later?" he asked, and Brennan smiled and nodded, "Yes. We'll talk later." she said.

After confirming her lecture with Cam and the Jeffersonian Brennan decided to go home to inform Erin about their trip to London. As she approached her apartment, she heard music. Music she had never heard before, there were no lyrics, just soft melodies flowing through the hallway. She smiled and entered her apartment, closing the door behind her she yelled, "Erin, I'm home. I have news!" she walked towards the music and saw her daughter snuggled in her blankets reading a book. Erin was unphased, completely focused on Brennnan's latest issue of The New England Medical Journal. Brennan chuckled and knelt to catch Erin's attention. Erin startled, "Mom! You're home early. I didn't even hear you come in." she said as she threw some of her blankets from her and turned down the music. Brennan laughed and sat on Erin's bed, "Probably because of the music. How are you feeling, honey?" she asked. Erin closed the journal, "Better. Thank you." she said, smiling and leaning into her pillows. Brennan smiled, "Good. Are you up for a trip?" she asked. Erin furrowed her brows, "To where?" she asked. Brennan took out the London brochures from her back pocket and handed them to Erin. Erin took them and her eyes grew wide. "London?! Why are we going to London?!" she asked. Brennan chuckled, "Booth and I were invited to guest lecture. I will be at Oxford, and he will be at Scotland Yard. I thought it would be nice for you to get away for a weekend." she said with hopeful eyes. Erin continued to look at the brochures, "I would love to go. It's a wonderful idea. Thank you for taking me!" Erin said while leaning in to hug her mom. Brennan squeezed her right back, "Of course, I'm taking you, silly. I have our passports and our tickets, all ready to go." she said, releasing Erin from the hug. "Awesome! This is so cool. You're so cool. I'm assuming you get asked to lecture quite a lot?" she asked with starstruck eyes. Brennan nodded, "Yes, I do. All over the world. You really think I'm cool?" she asked the young girl. Erin's eyes grew wide, "Uh, yeah! You're a best-selling author for one. Secondly, you're the only one with your skillset. You're world renowned! No other kid can say that about their parents. But I can!" she said pointing to herself. "I have to start planning my outfits, oh my god!" she said as she stood up on her bed and jumped to the floor. Brennan watched with glee as she snuggled up on Erin's bed and just watched as Erin's mind began to work through various outfits for her weekend. Brennan wondered how Erin became obsessed with clothes at such a young age. She reminded her of Angela in that regard. Erin turned around to look at her mom smiling, "What?" she asked. Brennan's head was resting on one of her hands, she smiled, "Nothing, you make me happy. That's all." she said. Erin smiled back shyly, feeling her cheeks turn red. She continued to pay attention to the outfits she began laying out on the floor.
