Erin spent the rest of her afternoon hanging out with Vincent. She found him incredibly easy to talk to. She enjoyed listening to his random facts about every little thing which included coffee cups, benches, and bricks. Erin was losing track of time and realized she needed to get back to the hotel before her mom returned. "Vincent, I have to head back to the hotel. My mother doesn't know I'm out. It was really nice meeting you. I hope you get that internship you want!" she said as she took her hand out for him to shake. Vincent smiled, "it was lovely getting to speak with you this afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your trip." he said as he shook her hand. Erin waved and began to speed walk to her hotel, she approached steps, hoping her mother was still out working. She pressed the button on the elevator and began to feel her heartbeat accelerate. "Have a nice evening?" Brennan said behind Erin's ear. Erin banged her head on the elevator door and turned to her mother, "Busted." she said as looked at her mother's eyes. She soon noticed Booth was not with her mother, "Where's Booth?" Erin asked.
Brennan cocked her head to the side because she knew her daughter was attempting to avoid trouble. "He is with detective Pritchard." she said, giving her daughter the mean school teacher look. They both stepped into the elevator, "Why aren't you with Dr. Wexler? I remember him saying he wanted to surrender himself completely to you…" Erin said while pressing the button and looking at the ceiling. Brennan scoffed, "I had to check on my child. Good thing I did to or else she would still be galavanting around London by herself." she said while staring at Erin. Erin finally returned the eye contact, "I'm sorry, but I'm in London. I can't stay cooped up in the hotel! I came on this trip with the expectation I would be exploring London with my mom and her best friend. Not watching you guys solve a murder. I also wasn't by myself. I had a very knowledgeable tour guide." Erin said as she walked out of the elevator waiting for her mom in the hallway. They entered their hotel room and Erin continued to talk about Vincent, "He knows everything, even told me who made the bricks for Oxford. I stayed really close to the hotel. I promise." she said giving her mom the latest puppy eye look she developed.
Brennan smiled and even chuckled a little, "I know, I'm sorry that we're solving a murder. It's a rare occurrence for the FBI to work international cases. I am guilty for accepting the offer so quickly.." she said as she placed her hand on Erin's shoulder, "because you forgot about me," Erin said without thinking. She placed her hand over her mouth, "I'm sorry, It-just came out. What I was trying to say..is..that...you're used to being on your own. You didn't have to worry about your decisions affecting others like you have to do now. Mom, I'm sorry." Erin said as she took her mothers hand that was on her shoulder and held it. Brennan quickly cleared her throat, "No, you're correct. I did forget, but every time I see you, I get reminded of how much I love you and how much I've wanted you to be in my life. I didn't forget about you when Ian asked me out to dinner. I wanted to have dinner with my daughter." Brennan said as she placed her hand on the side of Erin's face. Erin smiled, "Am..I...in trouble?" she asked, gritting through her teeth. Brennan pursed her lips, "No, your thought process was logical. I can't argue with logic..this time." she said as she picked up a map to look at the local restaurants.
Booth and Brennan had solved the murder and Erin was helping Booth place the luggage outside of the Hotel entrance. "So, Wexler still hasn't called you, right?" Booth asked grunting as he carried a suitcase. Erin giggled at the exchange, "Ian is the top forensic anthropologist in England. He's a very busy man, Booth." Brennan said as she walked towards the car to help Erin organize the luggage inside. "We were gone for two weeks, not a month. Why is there so much stuff?" Erin asked as she gave Booth a grin. Erin was referring to her mother's many items. Booth ruffled Erin's hair, "Yeah, Busy trying to get you into bed for the past two weeks. Least he can do is call." He said as he continued to look at all of Brennan's belongings. Erin was looking at her cell phone smiling. Her and Vincent continued to speak through text messages and a few emails. She was building a friendship with her first international friend. "I got to say a guy who doesnt want to talk to you just because you decide not to have sex with him, he cant be that great," Booth continue to say to Brennan and Erin soon responded, "What, in bed?" and Booth playfully threw a gift bag at her for her response. "Erin Grace!" Brennan shouted and Erin just laughed, placing the bag away in the cab. Erin looked at the cab driver, "I am so sorry. I didn't think she'd be this popular." she whispered and gave him a sly smile. She continued to make small talk with the cab while Booth and Brennan continued to discuss Ian and Booth's cell phone rang. Erin hopped out of the car and walked towards her mother, "What happened?" she asked while observing the obvious shift in the atmosphere. "It's Dr. Wexler." Booth said. Erin took her mothers hand, "You guys go. I'll take care of..all of this." Erin said. Brennan kissed Erin's forehead, "Thank you, honey. Be safe. Please." she said. Erin saw her mom and Booth get in another cab and drive away. Erin looked at the cab driver, "There is a Parcel Express down the block, correct?" she asked with a smile. The driver nodded and Erin continued to haul everything to the cab. "I'm definitely not doing this again. To the Jeffersonian they go." she said to herself as she began to dial's Cam's number.
