Prologue part 1 of "Watching their son suffering from zero"
Hello Everyone, this is the first fiction that I ever wrote, it's a spin off of WHDAAA made by the Reactionist. The plot is simple: Subaru parents are TP in the theatre too to watch their son misadventure in the Re:zero world, they will not watch the show with the cast but instead they will view it in another "room", they will watch the show from arc 1 and they will keep the viewing in parallel with the main cast.
I'm sorry for my bad grammar and possible incorrect phrasing but I'm still learning and I hope I will be able to give a better content in the future.
this is Only the first part of the prologue and the 2nd is ready but I need to rewrite it.
In the End of this chapter you will find a rewrite made by coremannnnnn, a user of the reactionist discord server, his rewrite is way better than my original but I hope that in the future I will able to deliver a content wrote like that! I hope you will Enjoy and see you soon with the next Chapter.

It was a peaceful night in the prefecture of Tokyo, the stars were shining in the sky but because of the lights of the city they were invisible, but those stars were still there eternally present, but they couldn't be perceived by the human eyes, so close yet so far from our little planet, however they still kept shining diligently, hoping that someone could observe them and appreciated they everlasting beauty.

In this starless night, in a relative closeness to the center of a small city, there is a little road that was only lighten by Light poles, on this street there was a convenience store that would usually stay open even late night.

But there was something strange, there were a lot of mysterious lights turning on and off in an infinite loop, those odd blue and red lights were attached to some strange metal boxes that were scattered around the street, there were men and women coming out of these boxes, they were all dressed in blue and some of them were ordering the others around, they were all...searching for something? Did someone lose something precious? Jewels? Money? Maybe something more personal

There were a lot of blue people and with the expression they had on their faces it was possible to perceive their deep determination for something that had to do, in their eyes instead you could gaze something like… piety? The blue people that all shared that expression were the more mature and older of the bunch.

The younger instead shared an expression of boredom for what they were doing, there were a few exceptions that instead were very determined to find whatever they were looking for, but still those expressions of determination were not even near close to the intensity that the older associate had.

Some younger man in the blue uniform were ordered by their more mature colleagues to close the surrounding with a yellow string and direct the few pedestrians that tried to walk on that street to another road that was far from there.

But… within that circumscribed area there was a couple that was not dressed like the others: Who were they and why they were inside that off-limits zone?

The man was a tall muscular and handsome middle-aged man, he had black hair swept back and small rectangular glasses, he was wearing a normal polo and jeans, but the colors were really not well suited, it just felt like he was forced to dress really fast without caring about matching the colors, on his face you could see a variety of negative emotions: pain, guilt, fear and despair.
He was embracing in his arms an average looking woman, She had brown eyes along with shoulder-length brown hair, her eyes were something peculiar, they were normally scaring, but right now they were filled with tears that were running across her cheeks and immeasurable pain was engulfing her entire soul, it was same for the man that was hugging her

their embrace was so tight that if they put in a little extra strength they could break a bone in either of them

One of the older blue dressed man after stopped talking to his subordinates he directed his gaze towards the couple, he watched them only for some seconds but for him felt like an eternity because he knew what he had to, it wasn't his first time doing something like this, but it never felt any easier, he sighted and started slowly walking toward the couple, unsure of what to say or do, the man was thinking the next move he would need to do to relieve the poor couple for their apparent pain.

Could that couple be the ones the lost the thing that blue dressed man were searching? Just… what did they lost? What is that important?

He finally arrived in front of the couple and said with a sad but composed voice:

"Mr and Mrs Natsuki we are investigating the area and interrogated the cashier of the convenience store, and he confirmed to have seen a man that Corresponded with your son description ..."

So... what they lost was not "something" but instead "someone".

The couple slowly move their head higher to meet the man eyes with theirs, the little glimpse of hope they had, small as earth in the outer space in our universe started increasing when they heard the man's words.

But he then their hopes were crushed once again when he said:

"unfortunately...we were not able to find any more tracks after this, the cctv couldn't get a glimpse of him, and we didn't find tracks of a vehicle that could have suggested a kidnapping, so your son probably simply walked on his feet away convenience store without leaving single track or witness"

The man know that by saying those words he was killing the hope that the couple had to find their son the very same night and then hug him and punish for this stunt and then forget all about this horrible story, but it was his duty, and even if didn't like it he had to, but that didn't stop him to look the couple with eyes filled with piety, especially because he had children too and even thinking about the possibility to be in the same circumstance of the couple scared him so much.

The couple was crashed, in the very same way a black hole that captured the light and imprison it in a dark void thanks to its immense gravity, the same happened to the couple, the blue dressed old man in that exact moment felt like that black hole that sucked away all the light of hope from them… only with those words that he sentenced.

The woman started crying way harder than before and engulfed her head in the muscular chest of the man black hired man, her breathing almost stopped a few times and her heart was almost failing to deliver blood to brain, the pain she was suffering it was not something physical, she would have preferred it… it was something more deep and mysterious, the pain she felt was hurting and cracking her soul, and it that was caused by the fear of the chance that her parental link she had with that one and only person that existed on the planet could have been broken… The link with her son.

The man beside her shared the same feeling of the woman, he knew her for a very long time, she was his wife after all, and he knew that he had to show a strong face to give courage to his life companion, she was a very strong woman but at the same time she was very fragile, especially with something that regarded their son wellbeing, he lifted his gaze upwards the sky and took a deep breath, he had to give the impression that his hope was still there and not crushed, he was never a good liar, but he had to try for the sake of his wife.

He knew that he was crying before, so to give the best impression that he was calming down and to not show how in reality he was agitated and scared, he had to use all his antics, charisma and the mannerism that his wife loved so much to calm her down, it was his duty as a husband of the evil-gazed woman to become her anchor and her strength… at least till the day his son would be found alive or death, that day he will take a day off from his self-appointed duty to cry tears of joy… or despair.

After that his heavy breathing calmed a little bit, he stopped looking at the sky and he finally meet the gaze of the blue man.

Mr Natsuki said with a trembling voice then he tried to hide in vain:

"so agent, maybe he just went for a long walk, maybe he needed to think what he wanted to do with scholastic life, maybe he even considered returning back to study! Or maybe he decided in the last minute to visit one of his internet friend! He could have said so! I would had given him a passage! Damn, his first real friend after months of social isolation? That brat! i will ground for a week for keep something like that hidden! I will force eating pees for a month! Make his parents...worry like this! Hehe..he...damn I' sorry officer for calling you for something so trivial hahaha! I will send a fruit basket to the police station for showing my gratitude to all of you, yes! That is what I will do!"

Mr Natsuki was saying those words that even he didn't even believe, the poor father was moving like it was crazy showing his peculiar mannerism, his charisma however would usually made that strange movement so natural and almost pleasing to look at, but it was not the case this time...he was in pain and his voice was trembling, you could perceive that he was faking his calmness.

The officer in blue was looking him with a gaze of piety way deeper than before, he knew that this poor man was in a terrible paid and afraid for what could have happened to his son, the Agent didn't want to break his performance because he knew what the poor father was trying to do, so he simply said without too much expression:

I really hope this will be the case Mr Natsuki, I will make you call right away if we find anything that could lead us to your son, but I must advice you to go home and rest, it's evident how much you need it, leave us do our job sir

The officer after saying that phrase simply turned around, he didn't give the chance to the couple to make him more question, the Agent was sure that whatever answer he would have given to the poor suffering couple, they would try to argue with him trying to explain how much their presence was needed in case they found their son, the man knew that they would try to do that. The Officer acknowledge how much an asshole he seemed, but he didn't want to see another family break in front of him, he didn't want witness to another mother crying on his son corpse that killed himself, it wasn't his first rodeo, and again he didn't want to give the couple a false hope that would have been probably get destroyed in a matter of hours, he refused that, so he simply walked off and started talking to his colleagues trying to think the next moves they had to do… Or what to say in case the worse happened.

In the meantime the couple tried indeed to stop the officer to talk to him, but he moved so fast that they didn't make it time, they lost their occasion and the married couple knew that interrupt him for making a question would only slow down the investigation, so they simply decided to give up the idea to talk to him, at least for now.

The woman that now was crying slower because she comforted by the loving arms that were surrounding her, she decided to look her man while she was still being embraced by him, With her not so scary any more eyes she said to her Husband

"Kenichi...you do really think that Subaru is ok?"

She trusted her man and she needed an anchor, so she pretended to believe whatever his loving husband was going to say, she needed a relief for her heart filled with pain and grief.

Kenichi looked her back with a fake smile trying to radiate hopefulness for his poor heartbroken wife, he was broken too, but he had to pretend that he was not, otherwise she would start crying again.

After some seconds he said:

Of course Naoko! Do you really think OUR son would do something so stupid and irreparable like sui..."

Kenichi stopped before saying something really bad but Naoko knew what he was going to say, but she pretended to not instead, she didn't want to hear that word.

The man gulped for the horrible phrase he almost said… he had to refuse that reality.

He continued immediately after:

"mmm I mean our son is stupid idiot! But not is not THAT stupid! Come on! He probably wandered a little and got lost, nothing to get scared of!"

He lied to her, he lied to himself, he lied to the entire world when he said those words, he knew his son was depressed and lonely, but he thought that maybe giving him time he would have recovered and turned back to be the normal and cheerful kid he was in the past...what a horrible mistake he made...if his son was still alive and he would come back to them, he would try everything in his power to Save him From his shell!

He promised it in his mind hopping that the universe would listen and gave him another chance to save his son, because if the universe didn't listen or simply ignored him,

that meant that his son was really...dead...if that was the case he would never forgive himself for this, not now and not in the next life.

In that case...as the husband and man of the house he needed to take care of Naoko sanity while in same time hide his suffering to not make Naoko worry about him...Kenichi was never a man scared of life, he always faced it with a big smile but know… he was truly scared of this fate.

Keichi deeply hugged Naoko in that street filled by the police car light under the starless sky hoping that they would find their Star back...Subaru

-Prologue – part 1 by coremannnnnn-

Light emanating from the moon defines a peaceful night as the stars beyond twinkle, yet the exposure of the cityscape's lights blinds its beauty. Shone its ever-lasting light covering the darkened sky

As the drowned light shined its light somewhere, structures that surround forming a small city beholds an afflicted story.

Noises that replaced the buzzing sound of the streetlights as a siren can be heard, flickering of red enveloped the walls. Something has happened here, it was.

Involved were the men and women swarming each street with their lights as they call out for someone. Could it be that someone lost something precious? Was it a burglar that ran?

Questions filled but never will be an answer be found though one may conclude that a precious one was never found.

People dressed with blue uniforms continue searching, as the dreaded atmosphere continues to loom. Some few were the only determined to find whatever they were looking for but that was nothing comparable to the shared despair of the older colleagues.

Nearby places were closed off with a strip of yellow blocking the path and some were tasked to redirect the bystanders to other streets instead, forbidding them to enter the area.

Though a strange occurrence was found as a couple seemingly innocent people unlike the others wearing uniform were being questioned.

Who were they? Why are they being questioned?

Descriptions were a man standing on the right was tall, handsome, befitting of a role model to look upon. He had a black hair that swept back and small rectangular glasses covering his eyes, wearing a normal polo and jeans, though can be found the colors wore were not matching as if it were hastily picked in panic regarding no care for colors. Then there were a woman embracing him with the same look of fright and guilt as tears fell on her almond-shaped eyes running across her cheeks feelings of immeasurable pain engulfing her very soul.

The couple were in an embrace with tightness that might break their bones if more of the pressure to project the feelings of pain of losing— someone.

It caught their attention as another uniformed officer that stopped talking to its subordinates then directed its gaze towards the them as it starts walking to the couple.

"Mister and Miss Natsuki, we are currently investigating the nearby areas where he could've been and my subordinates interrogated the cashier that were present in that convenience store to find his whereabouts as he described and matched the description of your son," Spoken with sympathy as the officer continued its report. The couple slowly moved their head higher to meet eye contact with officer with their own, a little glimpse of hope was seen as the officer stated which of put the man in even more grief as it saw the look on their eyes desperate for a light.

"Unfortunately, we haven't yet found any leads after this," flinched as it saw the couple's face for betraying their one and only hope for this nightmare. "The camera suddenly cut feed and didn't see any sight of him, and vanished. Witnesses say they didn't hear or see any passing vehicles around this time that could suggest a kidnapping." As the officer finished reporting trying to meet their eyes full of grief, and tinge of anger for killing their only hope.

Only hope that they were able to find their beloved son, and hug him tightly, and to scold him for doing this stunt and forgive. Hope that they can be together and forget this horrible nightmare.

The couple was devastated upon hearing the man said, imprisoning them in a dark void with their only light to vanish. Experiencing grief that couldn't be measured were the couple only felt. As the woman that were embracing her husband, cried even harder to compensate all of the ache she felt on her heart hearing the regrettable news. Her breathing stopped for a few times as her lungs can't keep up with the terrible hoarse sob. She was suffering, but not from a physical trauma though she would prefer it with no hesitation compared to what she was feeling currently, suffering from a cost of losing the only connection she had with her light in this world was her son.

The man hugged her tight as he felt he shared the grief of losing his one and only child, took a glance and watched the sky as he breathed heavily. He needs to show the impression of having hope even it may not be the truth, but it his duty as her husband to give the dim hope he had to her. In the end, that hope was betrayed as he heard clear, cried heavily with his wife.

He shouldn't show disbelief, not now as he is with his wife as she sobbed staining the shirt with tears. He had to become her strength until the dead they find their son just fine.

After some time, his labored breathing was calm but still with a tinge of trembling met the gaze of the uniformed officer.

"Officer! Maybe he just went for a long walk, maybe he needed to think what he should do with his school, maybe even thinking about that time for him to return studying! It could be that he visited one of his internet friends that he met, he could've just said so! I would've accompanied him! His first real friend after months of isolation? That brat! I will kick the shit out of him and force him to eat peas for a whole month! Making his parents— ghk," Lively as may be his deranged rambling, his own eyes betray his words.

"worry like this…" continued as he did with his voice running out of air, clutching his crying wife even harder close to his chest as he can't bare with the grief. The officer could only look with pity even further for knowing that this poor man was in very terrible pain, afraid for the truth that what may had happened to their son.

The officer couldn't do it, breaking their only last hope. Saying with little to no expression,

"I really hope this will be the case, Mister Natsuki. I will make sure to call if we find any leads, but I advise to take a rest for now and go to your home. We'll take it from here."

It simply turned around in a rush to not give chances the couple for them to answer, knowing that would try and argue. Saying that they need to say there because it was their cherished son and be there to be the ones to hug him tightly. The officer knew they would try and do that as this was not the first time with a similar case of someone disappearing to only be found dead, killing themselves. It just stood in front of the other officers that were doing their best to find him as it didn't want to give the couple a false hope that would only be destroyed in a matter of time.

In the mean time as the couple tried to stop the officer for walking away, but failed to reach as it they couldn't do it in time.

The woman could only look at her husband as she lost her strength due to the immense crying that made her eyes red.

"Kenichi… Do you really think that Subaru is ok?" She needed someone, that someone to be her anchor as may she pretend to believe that her son was fine, only inside her heart could only feel pain.

Kenichi looked back at her forcing a smile trying to radiate hopefulness to his heartbroken wife, contradicting the fact the he was also broken inside too, but that is giving up. He has to show that his son was alive somewhere otherwise it may lead to her wife breaking again with her already broken state.

"Of course, Naoko! Do you really think our son would do something so stupid like sui—" He can't say it, and never will. Naoko understands why and knows what he was gonna say but pretended she didn't.

"Mhm, I mean… Subaru is a stupid idiot, but not that stupid!" She denied and denied with all of her might speaking with hoarse dried tears whilst the grief still lingers.

"Come on! He probably wandered a little and got lost." Kenichi lied to her, and to himself just to share a dimming hope. He knew that his son was depressed and lonely, but he thought that maybe giving him time was all he needed to recover then going back to normal like a cheerful kid he was back then. What a horrible mistake he made, as regret came.

If his son was found and have been given back to them, he would try everything in his power to fix him back, to save him from his shell. He promised in his mind, wishing that the universe would listen to him and accept his wish, for another chance to save his son. If that hope was never end up in his favor, he would never forgive himself, this life to the next. Never.

He was scared of fate, with the eventually of the truth that he may never see his son again. He would take care of take care of Naoko, his wife like a fragile vase that'll be broken if slipped.

Kenichi, known for the man with utmost charisma was scared, trembling with grief as he held his wife very tightly, trying his best to ease her suffering, not minding his own.

The couple hugged each other whilst the street was filled with officers looking for someone under the starless sky that no more twinkled hoping that they would find back their own shining star back— Subaru Natsuki.
