Chapter 1
Prologue
Hey Scribe0magic here, I'm letting everyone know that I am revising this story a bit, adding more detail to scenes, removing certain plot points and the like to try to make the story flow properly. I'm not going to be removing chapters, but replacing them as I go so if things suddenly change between chapters that's why

"Mom can I please go outside and play?" begged a small ash black red tipped fox pokemon as he looked up at his mother as he used the puppy eyes trick on her
The pokemon's mother looked like a taller version of her son and stood on her hind legs, except her collaboration was different, she was darker and instead of having red accenting her fur she had purple accents and claws. She crossed her arms and looked down at her kit before telling him
"Ash, you know you can't go out on your own" she told him sternly "You're only three years old and can't defend yourself very well if you get attacked"
"But I can hide really well though!" complained Ash
"That might be true, but you are not going outside right now" said Ash's mother
Ash pouted as he moved away from the front door to the house his parents owned and went up the stairs up to his room before jumping onto the bed his parents got him before sulking over his mom not letting him go out
"Hey sport" said Ash's father as he entered the room
Now Ash's father looked very different to either his mate or his son as he was a blue and black jackal pokemon that had a spike poking out of his chest and one on each paw, he also stood up on his hind feet
"Hey dad" mumbled Ash
"Heard your mother isn't letting you go outside to play" said Ash's father
"Yeah, said I can't defend myself very well yet" complained Ash
"Well she's right you know" said Ash's father as he sat next to Ash "Plus don't you remember what happened the last time you went out on your own?"
Ash flinched at that memory as he had gotten really beaten up by a pidgey that dive bombed him from nowhere. Delia, Ash's mother, had quite a few strong words with the pidgeot that controlled the local flock over attacking her son. Delia also got a bit overprotective of Ash afterwords
"Dad, I had no warning when that crazy bird attacked me out of the blue" said Ash "And you've been teaching me how to use me aura to help warn me about such attacks"
"And you're making great progress with that" assured Ash's father as he stroked Ash's fur "But you're not yet good enough that your mother feels that it's safe for you to go out on your own yet"
"Can't you take me out to play?" asked Ash
"Sorry champ, but I have to head over to Prof. Oak's lab and help keep watch against poachers and the like" said Ash's father "But how about later I take you to see some friends of mine and your mother's?"
Ash looked at his father in surprise as he's never heard of them before
"You never mentioned them before" said Ash
"That's because they've been very busy raising their daughter for about two years" explained Ash's father "So we haven't been had much time to talk to them lately"
"What's she like?" asked Ash
"Don't know" answered Ash's father "We haven't met her yet"
"And we get to meet her tomorrow?" asked Ash
"Yep, me and your mom think it's about time you met her" explained his father
"That's cool" said Ash "But I still want to go out and play today"
"Why can't your mother take you out to play exactly?" asked his father as he stood up
"She's going to be working at the cafe today" explained Ash "And I'm don't want to help her today"
"Ash" began his father "I know you don't like helping out in the cafe, but it'll teach you important life lessons that'll be invaluable for you latter on"
"I know dad, but I'm three!" complained Ash
"And you're really smart for your age" said his father
"So?" asked Ash as he knew he was smart "I just don't really want to work in the cafe dad, I want to be a battler like you were"
Ash's father gained a dark look on his face for a sec as he did not like his time of being a trainer's pokemon due to how extremely abusive they were
"Ash I know you enjoy training and battles, but I DO NOT want you to EVER be captured by a trainer" said Ash's father in a very stern tone
"Well of course I won't let that happen" replied Ash with a glare that said he didn't like having been told something so basic
"Sorry son, it's just I had a extremely bad experience with my trainer before destroying my pokeball and escaping" apologized Ash's father
"Aren't you supposed to be somewhere?" asked Ash with a raised brow
Ash's father quickly realized he was running late and quickly bolted for the door
Ash just sighed as he lost track of how many times his father was late to helping out Prof. Oak and keeping the place safe

As Ash mopped around his room, working on his human illusion to pass the time he was interrupted when a pichu suddenly came crashing through his window. Causing him to jump in surprise
"Hey what the!?" cried Ash as he readied to use Scratch in case he had to
"Owwwww" cried the pichu in pain before looking up and noticing he was in a bedroom with a pokemon ready to defend themself
"Care to explain why you burst through my window?" demanded Ash
Just then a rookidee flew in and tried to attack the pichu, but Ash jumped in the way and hit it with Scratch, knocking it out of the window
"What the heck is going on?" demanded Ash as he turned to the pichu
"Some crazy trainer is trying to catch me!" cried the pichu "Me and my parents were enjoying a walk in the forest when this trainer leaped from the trees and sent out a bird I've never seen before to attack us causing me to lose track of them as we ran. I managed to knock out the bird he sent after us, so he focused more on me as I'm just a baby pokemon and I've been running all day!"
"Well you can stay here" said Ash "My folks own this place and I'm pretty sure they're on the way back. So they should be able to help you out"
"Your parents own this house?" asked the pichu in surprise
"My mom owns a small cafe and assists Prof. Oak sometimes while my dad assists with protecting the ranch from poachers and other bad guys" explained Ash
"How?" asked pichu
"Well me and mom can appear human" answered Ash "I'm still working on it of course, but my mom is really good at it"
"That's cool, I guess" said picu "How does she get away with it?"
"She learned how to talk like a human, and has been teaching me how as well" explained Ash
Suddenly a loud bang was heard outside causing the two to look towards the window in worry
"What was that?" asked pichu
"Not sure, I think my parents are back dealing with the problem" suggested Ash
"Should we check?" asked pichu with concern
"No, I don't think it's safe to do that" answered Ash "My parents will come check on me to make sure I'm safe"
"I hope you're right" said pichu
It was a few minutes and a lot of yelling from Prof. Oak and Delia later the trainer left in a huff. Meanwhile Ash's father came into the room to make sure Ash was alright and saw pichu and the broken window
"So this is the strong pichu that trainer was after?" he asked
"Yep" sighed the pichu before asking "So did he leave?"
"With a lot of complaining, yes" replied Ash's father with a sigh "However we get the feeling that he's going to be sticking around for a while to try and catch you after you leave our house"
"What about my parents?" asked the pichu
"Well sadly there aren't any pikachu colonies in the area that we know of, so we don't know where your parents are" explained Ash's father "How long has that trainer been after you?"
"I'm not sure" replied pichu "For a couple of days at least. I've barely been able to eat or rest the entire time as he's been able to pick up my trail with one of his pokemon"
"I see" said Ash's father "Well we'll try to locate them, but I'm not sure how well that'll go"
"Can I stay here until then?" asked pichu
"Of course, now do you have a name we can call you by?" replied Ash's father
"Thor" announced the pichu proudly
Ash snorted a bit at that, but if Thor's claim that he was stronger than normal the name fit
"Well I once the mess outside is fixed Delia plans on ordering out as she's too upset to cook" said Ash's father
"None of mom's famous cooking?!" whined Ash with tears welling up
"Relax, she ordering pizza from your favorite pizza place" assured Ash's father as he ruffle Ash's head before going out to help clean up the mess

The next day Ash, along with his parents and Thor headed out to a small reserve that was added onto Prof. Oak's ranch after an airship that was carrying poached pokemon from across the world crash landed a few years back after some of the pokemon managed to escape and force the airship to crash. Most of the poachers, along with some of the pokemon died in the resulting explosion when the ship crashed into the ground
Delia was among the pokemon on the ship and when the Pokemon Rangers arrived they weren't sure what to do about all the pokemon now stranded in a forgien region. They ended up offering the survivors the choice to either stay, be taken back home or go off on their own
Most of them chose to stay, while those that decided to leave had already ran off into the wilds before the rangers arrived. As the crash happened just beyond Prof. Oak's ranch the rangers, along with the leaders of the Kanto region created a reserve for the pokemon and add it to the professor's ranch as they knew he would help them recover from their ordeal and see not all humans are cruel
Delia had decided to explore the world a bit when she evolved and on her little journey came across Ash's father as he was running away from his horrid trainer and as she helped him escape and go into hiding they fell in love. Ash coming into the picture some time afterwards
This was all explained to Thor as they headed to the reserve and met with the Officer Jenny that was assigned to help keep watch over the place before heading in
"So where are we going exactly?" asked Thor
"Some old friends of ours" answered Delia "I met them on that airship and introduced them to my mate, but once we had Ash and my cafe got off the ground we couldn't see them as often as we used to"
"Then they had their own kid and haven't been able to come see us either" added Ash's father
"So basically everyone has been too busy to see each other?" asked Thor
"Pretty much" admitted Delia "Luckily I was able to pass along a message and ask them when they would be available so we could introduce our kids to each other"
"Hey mom what are they like?" asked Ash
"Well they're like your father" informed Delia as she pointed to Ash's father "They're both lucario, so their kid would be a riolu right now"
"Oh, so it's just the three of them?" asked Ash
"No the father's mother lives with them" answered his father "She's rather elderly and spiritual, she even helped me move past the trauma I had endured and regain the use of my aura"
"You lost the ability to use your aura?" asked Ash
"Sadly yes" sighed his father "Not only that I lost the power to use aura, but also almost all of my other attacks and moves. And the ones I could still use were severely weakened"
"That's terrible" said Thor
"Oh it was" replied Ash's father "But I've since recovered and have grown much stronger for it"
"Just how strong dad?" asked Ash
"Not really sure, I haven't battled another trainer in a long time" answered his father "But your mother is just about as strong as I am"
"Is that why the local pokemon avoid making her mad?" asked Ash
"Oh definitely" agreed Delia "And I've even managed to take down a well trained pseudo legendary once a while back"
"Well trained?" asked Ash
"Some stuipd trainer snuck into the reserve and tried to capture some of the pokemon that live here, myself included as I hadn't bought our house yet and your father was busy keeping watch on the far side of the ranch" explained Delia "He sent out a really powerful hydreigon against me, but I was able to take it down fairly quick thanks to my wit and being able to actually do meaningful amounts of damage when my attacks hit"
"Wow mom that's amazing!" cried Ash in awe
"Yeah, being able to take down something like that is no joke" agreed Thor "Especially a seasoned one like you said"
"Talking about the old days?" called a voice from up ahead
Ash looked and saw a large tree that had a small hovel dug out from under the trunk and roots, the main "yard" flanked by two massive roots creating a triangular space outside
"Ah it's soo good to see you again" replied Delia with a grin as she ran forward and gave the lucario that had spoken a hug
"It's nice to see you too" replied the lucario as she returned the hug before noticing Ash
"I take it, this little one is yours?" asked the lucario
"Yep, this is Ash" informed Delia as she motioned Ash to come over
"Hi! I'm Ash!" greeted Ash with a wide grin
"Nice to meet you Ash" greeted the lucario "I'm Rosemary, would you like to meet my daughter Rosie?"
"Sure!" cried Ash
"Rosie can you come on out?" called Rosemary
"Coming mema!" replied a very chipper and happy voice from inside the small home
Suddenly out popped a little riolu with a rose red ribbon tied to her left ear who quickly ran up to her mother before noticing Ash with his parents
"Oh hi! What's your name?" asked Rosie
"I'm Ash!" replied Ash with a small bark of glee
"Ash? That's a funny name" giggled Rosie
"Oh yeah?" huffed Ash as a small ember popped out of his mouth
"Huh? Was that fire that came out of your mouth?" asked Rosie as she tilted her head to the side in confusion
"Rosie! That's extremely rude!" scolded Rosemary
"No, it's alright" assured Delia "She is right a bit of fire did come from Ash, since he does know a fire typed move"
"Really? Which one?" asked Rosemary in surprise
"Incinerate" answered Ash "I can't use it very well yet though"
"That's pretty interesting" noted Rosemary "What other moves do you know?"
Ash turned to his mother as he didn't actually know the answer to that
Delia sighed before answering "Ash knows quite a few moves for his age, I haven't begun training him how to use all of them yet, so he's not really able to use them all"
"How?" asked Rosemary
"Because I came from one of those idiotic breeding centers that do a lot of shady work to breed elite level pokemon and passed a few moves down to Ash" explained Ash's father
"Oh, right I forgot you mentioned that" said Rosemary "How do you know Ash got those moves though?"
"We checked with Prof. Oak once Ash hatched" answered Delia "We were rather surprised by what Ash knew already, but we have to still teach him how to use them properly first before he can use them as I said"
"Well what moves are they?" asked Ash as he wanted to know as well
"Well Ash you already know you can use Scratch, Fake Tears, Leer, Incinerate, and Extrasensory. But what you don't know is that you can also use Copycat, Detect, and somehow Confusion" answered Delia
"Confusion?" asked Ash
"It's kinda like how I use Psychic, but much weaker" explained his father "When we start focusing one you learning how to use Extrasensory properly I'll help teach you how to use Confusion as well as it's basically the same as Psychic, just way weaker"
"Oh, okay" replied Ash who was sort of confused about the moves he did know, but his parents hadn't taught him how to use yet

Despite the odd first meeting Ash and Rosie hit it off incredibly well, same for Thor and Rosie once they were properly introduced. The three were nearly inseparable afterwards and tried to spend as much time together as possible. Ash eventually learned how to appear and speak human well enough that he asked if he could go to school with the other kids his age. Delia said yes, but Ash had to be careful until his father taught him how to strengthen his illusion with his aura and make it be able to take a hit
Sadly Thor's parents were unable to be tracked down, so Ash's parents took him in promising to keep looking for them
When Ash was about six Prof. Oak hosted a summer camp that Ash was able to join, so long as he maintained his disguise as being a six year old. It was during camp that Ash met a girl named Serena and helped her out after she got lost and scared. Ash also by that point become interested in becoming a pokemon trainer, even though he himself was a pokemon
Delia asked him why he wanted to be a trainer, to which Ash replied he wanted to go out and see the world and being a trainer was his best option. He didn't know what kind of trainer he wanted to be yet, but he figured he'd figure it out in time. Delia asked Prof. Oak if it was at all possible for Ash to be a trainer, to which the professor told her that it was perfectly legal for Ash to become a trainer. So long as he filled out special forms and got a chip that would prevent him from being captured in a pokeball
Ash was thrilled by the news and started putting more effort in learning what he needed to know to become a trainer. Thor and Rosie were interested as well and wanted to go with Ash once he did become a trainer. By this point all three had become stronger and able to hold their own against rookie trainers
However there was a slight hiccup in their plans shortly after Ash turned seven as he ended up getting really sick and had to spend some time in a proper pokemon hospital and not just a simple pokemon center. During his recovery Ash became rather interested in learning how to treat pokemon incase he ever needed that kind of knowledge in the future
Surprisingly Ash was allowed to join a school for pokemon nurses and managed to excel in most of his classes and got along really well with all the other pokemon in training. Ash also learned herbal remedies from Rosie's grandmother to help round out his skill set as in her words "You can't always count on modern methods to work when you're lost in the middle of the wilderness far away from any humans"
By the time Ash was ten and ready to become a trainer he had acquired his nursing licence, learned how to weiled his aura to the best of his abilities in his current form as well as being able to harness his somewhat limited psychic abilities to their fullest
