Flashing red lights, earsplitting sirens "Cryogenic sleep completed, initiating waking procedures, patient number 0" a female robotic voice said

Our protagonist finally wakes up with a grunt while white vapor slowly dissipates in the darkness of the room.
"Wh-...where am I?" Was all he could mutter while being pounded in the head, or that's how he felt.
With a weak push he got himself out of the futuristic looking bed to fall on the ground.

He felt weak yet his muscles looked normal, his mouth felt like a desert, yet he wasn't hungry nor thirsty, what just happened.
All he could remember was a faint ,faded female silhouette putting him on that bed saying "wake up after all of this and save us, you're humanity's only hope, I beg you, release us from this curse."
And here he is completely dumbfounded at that scene. but this isn't the time for no fairy tale he thought, he wanted answers and he will surely get them.

He exited the dark room to fade into a more sinister hallway, he didn't believe in demons nor ghosts but he was praying to God to not meet one.
The darkness was blinding, the silence deafening, everything was out of place.
He didn't plan to die here, he wanted to uncover the mystery behind this place, so he kept following the evil hallway until he stumbled with a battered door named Armory, about time he thought.

He entered the room with all his left power and searched for a weapon to defend himself and clothes to cover his naked body he collided with a box with a touchpad on it USERNAME:
PASSWORD:
He got angry, angry at the fact this box still has power yet all of the clinic was so fucked it made him think about supernatural entities.
He also noticed this box had an insignia, a familiar insignia.
"Ah so this must be from HQ, thank god they thought about this...they thought about this?"
Maybe this is the usual surprised drill from the CEO for commanders, but this is just too good to be true he thought.
So with a prayer he started putting the information.
USERNAME:YULIL PASSWORD:ECHO While doing so, bad memories struck him like a wave as he put the password, the box opened full of equipment yet his feelings were still empty.

An old battle rifle L1A1 equipped with a medium to long range acog scope, a battered HK45 semi-auto pistol and a combat knife was the gifts of the box, all of them were his equipment in his time with the PMC he worked with, could be better but this is a start.
He grabbed the goodies along with a flare launcher and appropriate ammunition and of course clothes and a recognizable body armour with a large insignia of the mercenary company he belonged to painted on the front side, he felt good wearing it again.

And so he continued his journey within the inanimated complex, hoping to find an exit out of this dungeon.
More and more thoughts kept passing by his head, "were we attacked by Griffin? I mean we were gaining more contracts than them but to actually attack us..., Had the government finally ceased to find us useful and erased us? Is this just a tasteless joke?, Is age-" his pessmistic thinking was cut off by a giant metallic door and he could feel a faint breeze coming from it, finally something to smile upon, again he met the same touchpad, he entered the credentials and the door started slowly opening while making noises like it hadn't been used for decades (which was true.)

A blinding light was shining upon our protagonist while he exited the vault, as if his eyes didn't see the light for years.
He slowly stopped sheltering his eyes with his arms and when he gazed again...
He dropped his rifle and his eyes widened, he couldn't feel anything at the sight of the collapsed building and barren cars...
Streets were battered, building were destroyed, the sky was grey... everything looked like something out of an apocalyptic movie No life was on sight.
