Hey everyone! First, I'm putting this author's note on my most popular fics in hopes the maximum number of people get to see it. I have a lot of things I want to tell everyone. Secondly, I want to apologize for not having posted in so long. I'll be quite honest, I just haven't had the motivation lately. But I've never forgotten you guys or these stories! I don't EVER intend to abandon any of my fics. That I can promise you.
That being said, I've been looking back at a lot of my fics and realized a lot of them could be better. That I want them to be better. So recently I've been going through everything I've already posted and I'm going to rewrite everything. Or at least look at them and see if it needs to be redone. Even my fic that hasn't been updated since 2015...
My original plan was to wait until I finished with rewriting everything, but that honestly will take quite a lot of time and I feel bad making you guys wait even longer after all the support you have shown me over the years. So what I'm thinking is deleting everything and starting over from scratch. I'll keep the originals up if you guys want me to, but the less popular fics might still be deleted and replaced.
Some of my fics might end up with a new name as well. Or if it's a oneshot then maybe just the chapter name will change. It all depends on what works best for each fic. Likewise, there are some that might not change at all. I have one fic that I've looked at so far and, other than a few spelling errors, haven't found anything I wanted to change on it. Some might only have a few minor changes while the overall chapter stays mostly the same. Others I might start over from the beginning and change the whole plot. I simply do not know how I'll feel as I go through each fic. But there have been many times that I've gone through my stories and thought "I can make this better" or "That doesn't work with how I wrote this" or "Is there anything I can do to make this chapter longer?"
Well I've finally decided to do something about it. I love writing. It's been a hobby of mine for years and I always tell people my dream is to write and publish a book. I still have a long ways to go before I'm ready for that though. No seriously, I've barely started it. I genuinely have a long way to go before it's even remotely finished. But for now, I want to focus on my fanfics. Fanfiction is a big part of my life. Nearly every day for the last ten years (give or take) I've been reading fanfics. It's been my go to place to calm down and relax for so long that I genuinely can't imagine life without it. Not only as someone who reads fanfics but as an author as well. My readers are precious to me and are a big part of why I write. You all motivate me to do better which is why I want to make my fics the best I can.
Now that I've gotten the emotional stuff over with, I want to let everyone know of another change that I plan to do with this account. A name change. I made this account when I was 11. This username was the second one I picked, with the first not lasting very long at all. At most a month before I decided it wasn't the name for me. Now, I want to change my name again. I've already changed it on my Ao3 account (where I will just post the new versions of the fics since it's still a blank slate) and it's my intention to change it here as well. However I felt I should give everyone some warning before I followed through with that, since I've had my current username for so long.
I'm changing my name to MykRED assuming it hasn't already been taken. If it is, then I will have something similar to it. That's what my Ao3 account is though, so I'm really hoping I get them to be the same. The Myk part actually comes from my name, though I wont tell you which part~. However the RED part is a nickname my friends bestowed upon me because my name isn't easy to make a nickname from and I have red hair. I've been thinking about this name change for several months already and that's what I decided I liked best. Nothing else seemed fitting to me.
Umm...I think the only news I have left to share is that I have a couple new fics in the works. I still need to refine them a bit before posting them but they'll be coming soon. I want to have a few more chapters finished before I post them but I think that you will enjoy them.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to support me and my stories despite the fact that I haven't updated in forever! Please be patient with me a little while longer while I work on my stories! I love all of you and hope you enjoy my stories for many more years to come!
