Author's Note: Hi, so I've noticed I keep starting long stories, then fall out of interest with them after a while and it becomes a little hard to get back into them because I then have to re-read everything, remember what was going to happen next and all sorts. What I was finding in my other works as well is that I do reflect Rogue and Gambit's relationship in negative ways. There are good things that happen between them too, but there is always some underlining issue because it is a long story and I was kind of getting a bit sick of that too.

So, I decided to try doing one-shots.

This is a collection of stories that can, hopefully, be read separately without needing to read the large story it stems from - One Day at a Time, or without needing to read all the chapters to get what is going on. It's going to be focusing on Gambit and Rogue living together in the X-Men mansion and just going about their daily lives. Not too much lovey dovey romance, not too much action or life and death situations. Just two people, interacting with each other and sharing little moments of happiness together.

Of course, I'm going to be having a little fun and interlinking some of the stories from time to time, but still with the aim of keeping them separate. I will also be continuing with my longer works. These were just little thoughts that came to mind so I wrote them down and decided to share. There will be a mini bib of each story at the beginning of each chapter and the French translations to Gambit's words at the bottom.

Hope you enjoy it! x

Standing Out

Bib:

Gambit has just joined the X-Men of his own free will and has been given a clean slate. But, in the first few days of living with the X-Men, there's already trouble.

Story:

"No Gambit! Arugh, end the session," Scott barked out.

Rogue stood frowning at the screen just outside the danger room doors as she watched Gambit blow up another laser gun yet again.

"He's not, like, getting it, is he?" Kitty asked from beside Rogue.

Everyone had been watching Remy's performance to learn his skill level. Issue was, rather than dodge the lasers like he was supposed to, Remy had gone straight in and blown the gun up before it even had a chance to test his dodging abilities. All the other training sessions had been the same. When Scott went to test how big of an explosion Remy could make, he did a lot of little ones. When it came to speed, Remy used shortcuts no one realised was there.

On the video Rogue was watching, Remy looked irritated. It wasn't obvious. He wore that resting smirk on his face that made him look cocky, but she could see it in his eyes and how firm the muscles in his face were. Apparently, he wasn't the only one who was irritated.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to blow up the lasers?" Scott questioned.

Remy shrugged one of his shoulders on the video of him and said: "Waste a time dodgin'."

"That's not the point! I've-" Scott huffed into the speaker. "Alright, that's enough for today. We'll try again tomorrow."

Remy slipped his bo staff away in his trench coat and began to exit the danger room.

Kitty and Rogue both shot a grimace at each other, knowing Remy's skill assessment was not going well.

When Remy came out into the hallway where everyone had been watching him on the tv screen, he glanced around and was meet by a lot of people looking away when he eyed them and scratching the back of their heads. Rogue watched this reaction from everyone. She also watched Remy. The resting smirk was still on his face, but so was the irritation in his eyes. He kept his head held high as he walked past everyone.

Feeling bad for some reason, Rogue began to follow after him. Eventually, she caught up.

"Ya do realise Scott's just tryna assess what level you're at, right? And he can't do that unless y' do what he asks," Rogue said.

Remy snorted and kept walking away from her.

"He's had plenty o' chances. He just dun't like dat I be beatin' his tests," Remy replied.

"It ain't 'bout beatin' em. He's just tryna figure out what y' need improvin' on-"

"If he can't see dat, ain't mon probleme," Remy said, turning on Rogue now and snapping at her, "he can't assess what right before em, den maybe de X-Men need a new leader."

"Yeah, right!" Rogue snapped back just as harsh, folding her arms over her chest and glaring at him. "Who'd replace him? You?"

The strong grimace that had graced Remy's face momentary quickly snapped away as he smirked largely.

"Could teach y' plenty o' t'ing, chérie," he said.

"Arugh," Rogue grunted out, storming past Remy as she did and being sure to elbow him in the gut so she could hear a little grunt from him.

Rogue stepped into the open elevator and turned on Remy.

"All Scott's tryna do is help y'! It's all any of us are tryna do. But if y' ain't gonna listen then finah! Suffer through on y' own!" With that, the elevator doors closed and took Rogue to another floor, leaving Remy behind.

A good while later, Rogue found Remy coming out of a meeting with the Professor, Scott and Logan as she was passing by. All men seemed to be disappointed. From the irritation still in Remy's eye, she gathered what the meeting had been about. She noticed that Remy stopped at the bottom of the stairs. He'd noticed her presence and was glancing at her from out of the corner of his eye as she descended the stairs.

"Come t' give une seconde lecture?" he shot at her venomously.

"Actually, ah was just headin' out for a bite t' eat," she said, not stopping beside him as she kept going towards her destination. "Guessin' y' too busy walkin' 'round, bein' a grump ta care 'bout food though, huh?" Rogue said over her shoulder just as she disappeared into the hallway that led to the garage.

Remy began to follow, seeing that as an invitation. Her lack of protest along the way only helped confirm that it was.

"What ride y' takin'?" he asked as they entered the garage.

Rogue shrugged her shoulders as she glanced around the garage.

"Ah don't actually own anythin' here. Was hopin' someone'd left the keys ta the Land Rover in here but doesn't seem that email to LF re: initial." Rogue said.

"Good t'ing I brought mon bébé with me, non?" Remy said, approaching his bike.

Rogue raised her eyebrow at the bike, but was liking what she was seeing.

"Like what you see, chérie?" he taunted.

"Not bad swamp rat," Rogue replied as she came to be at his side. "Ah'm drivin'," she said.

"Not a chance," Remy replied, climbing onto his bike.

"It was my idea!" Rogue shot back at him.

"It mon vélo. Here," he said, handing Rogue a helmet.

Rogue sighed, put the helmet on and climbed on the back of the bike. Remy took off as soon as he felt her arms around him.

"So, why don't ya follow Scott's instructions?" Rogue asked Remy.

They'd somehow found themselves a quiet little southern bar that was a hidden gem. By day, it was a café, by night, a pub.

"Thought I be clear already," Remy said, eyeing up the pool players as he did so.

He could feel Rogue's eyes burning a hole in the side of his head. Sighing inwardly, he turned his attention back to her.

"Ain't lowerin' moi même t' suit y' leader. If he can't handle moi, then he should resign or find another way t' test me," he responded, drinking his whisky.

Rogue was using her straw to swirl the ice around in her drink. Somehow, she had ended up being served an alcoholic drink too even though she was underage. But, then again, it had happened before when she'd been with Remy. Somehow, it seemed Remy had charmed the guy behind the bar into accepting the pair as trustworthy people.

"But ah don't get it. What he's askin' ya ta do ain't hard. Just dodge lasers rather than blowin' up the gun to em. How does dodgin' a few lasers lower ya skill?" Rogue asked, leaning back in her chair.

"'cause if it be de real world, chérie, then you ain't got time t' be dancin' around. Those lasers hit, there ain't gonna be just a sting. It gonna be critical. Mon way gets de problem outta de way vite. Dat what your précisuse leader be missin'," Remy explained.

"But what if ya couldn't get t' the laser as quickly as you do in the danger room an' there's shots fired? What then? How does Scott know you don't need work dodgin' the attacks that might take ya by surprise?" Rogue asked.

"Didn't know where de lasers were gonna show up Rogue. I found dem an' took care of em as quickly as I would in reality. Y' boy scout just pullin' his hair out 'bout it 'cause he's no longer de only hero t' be blowin' up all de lasers," he said.

"But what if Scott were t' hit y' when he's tryna take out the lasers?" Rogue asked.

"Den it be his error," Remy said so matter-of-factly that it felt like a closed conversation

Rogue grunted out loud.

"Why ya so down on Scott?" she demanded to know.

"Why you defendin' em?" he shot back at her.

"'cause ah don't believe Scott would do anythin' ta put the team in danger! At least, not on purpose. He's just tryna help ya be the best y' can be," Rogue explained.

Remy snorted at that. "If his best be throwin' de Wolverine at mon when his ways ain't workin', then he's gotta long way ta go."

"So, ya gonna get assessed by Logan, huh? That's tough," Rogue responded.

"I have de advantage o' long range tactics an' I can handle my own in close combat. Y'r Wolvie, he only has short range." Remy said, not seeming at all bothered about his fate.

Rogue shuck her head as she observed him.

"Ah wouldn't underestimate him like that swamp rat. For one, ah doubt they'll let y' use your kinetic charge against him. Wouldn't be fair," Rogue explained.

"Y' t'ink any other opponent would be?" he said. "Xavier's supposed t' be a place a learnin'. Ain't learnin' if they be handicappin' a mutant's potential. If you be out wit' de team an' y' see dem strugglin' 'gainst an enemy tryna hurt em, y' gonna use your powers t' save em?"

"Well, that'd depend on the situation," Rogue said, glancing away from him for the first time in a while; hating how he was starting to turn the conversation around.

"How 'bout Juggernaut, hmmm?" Remy asked, watching Rogue's every move.

Rogue shrugged her shoulders, "Kurt an' Kitty got the helmet off last time. Jean could take him down mentally," Rogue explained.

"Dat ain't what happened last time an' y' know it," Remy said, raising a pointed eyebrow at her.

He could see how close he was to pushing her past her limit, but he couldn't seem to help it.

"How's 'bout Magneto? Y' see him attackin' the Wolverine who's skeleton be made'a metal, you gonna just stand by and not use your powers to stop em?" he questioned.

"That's different," Rogue tried to say.

"Non, it ain't. You used your powers in de past when you took on foes. If y' ask me, de X-Men be holdin' back your potential by not lettin' y' use your powers in trainin'," Remy said.

"They do let meh use em," Rogue snapped at him.

"Only with permission. What 'bout surprise attacks, hmmm?" Remy questioned.

"Ah get trainin' in that," Rogue said.

"But y' can't use your powers when you do an', what's more, they know it be comin'. What good's trainin' t' be sneaky when y' can't actually put in t' good practise if y' be so or not?" Remy said.

Rogue slammed her fist against the bar, "It ain't that simple!" Rogue explained.

"Sure it be," he said.

"Mah powers hurt people, Remy. They hurt meh too… Ah don't wanna go through another episode like ah did the last time ah absorbed too many people." Rogue explained, glancing away.

"Provin' I be right," Remy said.

Rogue clenched her eyes shut in annoyance as she began to say, "That's-"

"If your X-Men woulda let y' practice usin' y' powers properly in de danger room, it'd be likely what happened never woulda occurred. You coulda been confined in de danger room and de Prof coulda seen y' strugglin' 'fore it got to dat point," Remy said.

Rogue's mouth opened and closed, until she decided she had nothing to say to Gambit's last comment about her and her training.

"Ya know, ya sound a lot like Magneto," Rogue said.

"Did work for de man. Trained under him pendant un temps too. We had a few opinions in common," Remy explained.

"What, so you think mutants are superior beings as well? That we should make non mutants fear us?" Rogue questioned.

"I thought he be right 'bout mutants not remainin' a secret for long. Thought he be right 'bout humans not acceptin' us, which, they don't."

"That's just some-"

"Mais, after I saw you take down Juggernaut an' how people seemed t' slowly start acceptin' mutants, I did start t' question if a war really be brewin' 'tween humans an' mutants. Still feels like there might be somethin' shady happenin' behind de curtains, but don't know till it happens. In de mean time, it best we be trainin' how t' defend ourselves as une équipe ou en solo. Not keepin' un graphique o' gold stars for who followed de boy scout's rules de best. If de worst were t' come, I ain't pullin' punches. An' neither should you. "

Rogue just stared at Remy for a minute as she took in all that he said. She was sure this was the most he'd said about any given topic with such passion throughout. It was rather startling.

"So, do ya believe in the Professor's vision?" Rogue asked, finding herself still a little bewildered at Remy's speech.

Remy just shrugged as if her question was as casual as asking which ice cream flavour he preferred.

"Want it to be dat simple chérie. Life ain't always dat," he said.

Rogue kept her head down as she thought about what Remy said. Remy's allegiance has been something everyone had been muttering about back at the institute.

"Did ya say all this t' the Professor when he asked why y' were joinin'?" Rogue asked, approaching a question she still didn't know the answer too. She was hoping, now they were alone, he might just tell her his reason for joining the X-Men.

Remy placed his hands behind his head as he stretched.

"Man be un mind reader, non?" he said, which caused Rogue to roll her eyes at him and huff in disappointment. She guessed she wasn't going to get her answer tonight. "Y' gonna run off t' inform y' boy scout 'bout mon opinions?" Remy asked, changing the topic.

"Quit callin' him that," Rogue said.

"Y' avoidin' de question," Remy stated.

"Like you don't?" Rogue snapped.

Remy had turned his head though and had sober eyes as he stared at her, waiting for her reply. Rogue caught and held onto those eyes for some time before shifting her gaze to her untouched drink.

"Ain't mah place ta say. 'sides, the most important people know where y' stand, that's all that matters," she said, even though the words felt bitter coming out of her mouth. She really did want to know why Remy had joined them, but she figured pushing him at this moment wouldn't get her the answers she sort after.

Gambit let a little smile cross his face.

"Who be dat then, chérie?" Gambit asked, sitting up straight and leaning his weight on the table as he got closer to her.

"Well, obviously yourself an' the Professor. If he didn't think ya could be trusted, y' wouldn't be here," Rogue explained.

"An' y'self," Remy said.

Rogue raised her eyebrow at that. She guessed, from listening to Remy now, she knew he stood with the X-Men. But, it felt like he was getting at something else. His full reason for joining the X-Men. But she didn't know why he was here and had joined the X-Men. She wondered if he was mocking her, somehow, or just referring to joining the X-Men because he wanted the Professor's vision to be a reality. But, from that unmoving glance, it didn't seem like he was referring just to that. She wondered if she really was just overthinking things, but he seemed to believe she knew the reason why he was here. Rogue's mind shifted to the letter Merci wrote to her and Merci claiming Remy had a crush on her. Rogue tried to hold back the blush, wondering if that was what Remy was getting at.

She had to turn away, a small smirk tugging at her lips at the thought of her being the reason why he was here. She ended up scoffing, playfully.

"Ah'm gonna figure it out sooner or later. Ah am gonna ended up absorbin' y' at some point durin' train' after all," she said.

"So, y' been t'inkin' 'bout touchin' dis here Cajun, hmmm? Care t' demonstrate how so now, or should dis be taken elsewhere?" Remy asked.

"Swamp rat!" Rogue said in a warning tone, but the amused smile never dropped from her face.

The next day, the team were up in the control room with a good view over the danger room. Rogue was one of the last people to enter. Remy and Logan were already stationed below in the danger room.

"I'm telling you Jean, this is just going to be a waste of time! He's obviously doing this on purpose just so we can't see what his skill level is. I swear, I don't know why the Professor let him stay here," Scott stressed.

Rogue frowned as the whole room heard what Scott had to say and folded her arms as she glanced down at Remy. As if knowing she had just entered the room and was looking, he peered up at her and shot her a wink.

"Scott, I think you're over reacting. The Professor wouldn't let him be here if he thought we were in any danger," Jean justified, but whether she was defending the Professor or Remy was in question.

"I don't know Jean. He's a liar and a good one at that. He's been trouble since the day we encountered him," Scott said, glancing over at Rogue as he did.

Rogue caught his eye. "Got something t' say one eye?" Rogue questioned him, moodily.

Scott looked withdrawn from Rogue's attitude, then he became annoyed.

"What's your problem?" Scott asked her.

"Mah problem is that you're stood here beratin' Remy 'fore ya've even givin' him a chance t' prove his worth!" Rogue snapped, turning on Scott.

"That's not fair!" Scott said.

"But it's true! Ya ain't exactly hiddin' ya thoughts from everyone. Y' speakin' em loud and clear that ya don't trust Remy," Rogue said.

"What's he given us to trust him on Rogue?" Scott demanded to know, becoming defensive. "He's worked with Magneto, lured us all into a trap before by attacking us and that wasn't the only time we thought against him! Oh, and he also kidnapped and lied to you, or don't you remember that?" Scott demanded to know.

Rogue saw red as she stepped up into Scott's personal space and began pointing a finger in his face.

"You worked alongside Magneto once upon a time as well! You saw us there trapped in those tubes an' ya did nothin' ta help get us outta them! An' you were actually on our team as well when that happened! Wasn't like y' didn't know us or had a real good reason for doin' what ya did! An' as for the kidnappin', he only did that and lied 'cause he didn't think we'd trust him or help him an' can y' really blame him the way you're talkin'?" Rogue demanded to know.

"I didn't turn my back on you! I was just trying to look out for you all! I didn't realise I made a mistake. But that's all it was. A mistake. Gambit knew exactly what he was doing when he teamed up with Magneto! And I don't buy his lines about not knowing whether we'd help him or not. Of course we would have!" Scott snapped back at Rogue.

From below in the danger room, Logan raised his eyebrow as he saw Scott and Rogue near going for each other's throats.

"Hey, if you two don't quit it right now, you'll be in this danger room rather than gumbo over here. If you don't want that, then I suggest you knock it off!" Logan demanded into the communicator.

Scott and Rogue backed away from each other slightly, but both were still hot and bothered. Scott took in a deep breath, trying his best to stay calm as he tried to put across his point.

"All he has to do is let us assess him fairly, Rogue. He's not doing that which tells me he's got something to hide. So yeah, call me the bad guy all you want, but a leader makes sure his teams' safety comes first,"

"Yeah, well, Remy's a part of that team now too! An' what a leader should also be able ta do is be able ta handle the people he's leadin'. Find a way t' help em work with their strengths an' weaknesses. You ain't doin' that for Remy!"

"Because he's not letting me help him!" Scott snapped back at Rogue.

"No, ya just don't know how to help him an' y' blaming it on him!" Rogue snapped,

"If you think you can do such a better job than me, then do it!" Scott snapped back at Rogue.

"Finah! Ah will!" Rogue snapped back, then turned on her heel and shot off out of the control room.

People parted like the red sea for Rogue as she sped away, all eyes on her. A moment passed where everyone was left dumbfounded by Rogue's outburst. Finally, as the doors to the control room closed behind her, Scott turned to glance at Jean and asked:

"Did I miss something here? Since when did Gambit brainwash Rogue into defending him? Wasn't she mad at him for lying to her constantly?"

xxxxx

Below in the danger room, it was announced that Rogue had entered. Logan and Remy watched her approach with a foul look on her face as she messed with her gloves.

"What you doin' stripes?" Logan demanded to know.

"Takin' over your spot. Tell Scott to run your session, level two," Rogue commanded.

Logan raised his eyebrow at Rogue's request.

"You sure about that?" he asked.

"Does it look like I'm not?" Rogue demanded to know, now meeting the man's eyes.

"Look, whatever tussle you and one eye got going on, don't-"

"I'm not!" Rogue snapped, cutting Logan off. "You wanna see what Remy's made of, then finah! Run the session an' you'll find out."

Logan was hesitate to leave, glancing between the pair. Remy's opinion on the matter was as unreadable as his facial expressions. He didn't appear to be in protest. He just kept his eye on Rogue, looking as if he might know where her sudden outburst had come from. Rogue's eyes were large, challenging and glistering with that fiery energy she'd worked up.

Logan groaned inwardly, but gave in.

"Fine, but if you end up in the infirmary, don't expect me to bail you out," Logan said pointingly at Rogue.

Rogue just nodded her head in acceptance.

"And you," Logan said sternly, now turning on Remy. Remy's eyes rolled lazily to glance from the pointing tip of Logan's finger to his small eyes, "actually take this seriously. She gets hurt puttin' her neck out on the line for you, you'll be the one feeling double the pain."

Rogue felt herself drawn back for a second as she watched Remy nod his head once, slightly. The way the pair looked at each other so seriously and the words that were just exchanged between them, well, Rogue wasn't sure she'd seen anything be taken so seriously and in so calm a manner at the institute before.

Logan left them to it and Rogue finally caught the eyes of Remy. The seriousness on Remy's face had fallen and was instantly replaced with a smug smirk as he asked:

"So, what was all dat about?"

Rogue felt herself ready to roll her eyes, but stopped herself.

"Can it swamp breath! Now listen, everyone's done this run a few times an' no one's been able t' pass it. We've gonna finish this run no matter what 'cause I ain't puttin' up with Scott lordin' it over meh for the next six weeks or so. Do everythin' ah tell y' to an' we'll get through this, you got that?" Rogue questioned.

Remy's smirk only grew.

"Ain't you listened to a word I said yesterday? I ain't pullin' punches," he said, turning to face the open room just as Rogue did.

Upon hearing that, a smirk of her own graced Rogue's lips.

"Alright, set up begins now," Logan said through the speakers.

The pair waited and watched as the danger room began to change setting. As they tried to pick out what was what and all possible dangers to prepare themselves, Logan continued to explain the aim of the session.

"The aim of this run is to do whatever it takes to reach the other side before you run out of time. To win, both of you need to make it. If one of you reaches the mark before the other, there's no going back. The person left in the run has to deal with all the obstacles on their own and still make it to the other side before the time limit. You run out of time, game over. If either of you get hit during this run, then you're gonna feel real pain. There's twenty minutes on the clock. You two ready?" Logan asked.

"Ready," Both Rogue and Remy said, crouching down into running positions.

The siren sounded and the pair took off.

Xxxxx

With two minutes and twenty eight seconds remaining, the pair had completed the obstacle course.

"Whoa! Way to go Rogue!" Kitty yelled.

"No way. That was awesome! You guys totally rock!" Kurt joined her in yelling as the control room erupted with applause.

Scott, Jean and Logan were the only ones stood still within the control room. Jean had a small smile on her face and had turned to glance at Scott's slightly opened mouth. Logan came across as nonchalant about the session. He wasn't celebrating nor discouraging what he had saw. For Scott, it was taking him time to process what he had witnessed. He folded one arm over his chest and brought the other up to his chin in thought as he went over what he had just observed in his mind.

Throughout the training session, Remy had stayed close by Rogue's side. He'd made sure to take out all the lasers just as he had in his previous session. There were a few times where he had been forced to dodge because he was sticking so close to Rogue, but he wasn't terrible at dodging. Rogue kept an eye out for lasers and other weapons popping up in areas Remy struggled to see. She was very much his second pair of eyes and every command and instruction she gave, he followed which was the most surprising part about the run. There were a few times when Remy had warned Rogue to duck or dodge, but mostly, Rogue was giving the orders and Remy was following them without question.

He watched how there were times when verbal communication wasn't even needed. As they approached a tall wall or ditch where Remy's height came in handy for moving over those objects quickly, he would see him reach to give Rogue a leg up over the wall or a hand down. Rogue wasn't even watching her footing at that point. It was as if the pair had decided the roles of look out and who was in charge of seeing them through the obstacles up close. It was impressive how little they communicated at these points when Scott knew he'd have to instruct or give commands at a few of those points where Rogue didn't need to. Their knowledge and trust of one another seemed to get them through the barricades faster.

What Scott also managed to see was Remy's weaknesses as he did the run. He favoured his left side a bit too much and he was very tame when it came to using his explosives, hesitant, even. There were times where Remy could have used his charged cards to get himself and Rogue past an obstacle faster, like a wall, but Remy seemed to be holding back when it came to his power. Maybe it was because he was worried he would hurt Rogue with the blasts or even that he feared running out of cards, but Scott doubted it was the second. By the end of the run, Scott had a rough idea of what it was he needed to help Remy work on and it certainly wasn't his co-operation and care for his team mates like he thought it was.

As much as Scott hated to admit it, Rogue's idea of getting to know Remy's strengths and weaknesses by simply jumping straight into a full on session with him rather than testing him separately on every little thing was a good idea..

When he glanced at Jean who had that small smile on her face, he knew there was no way he could hide what he just thought. He sighed, dropping his hand as he did.

"They're never gonna let me live this down, are they?" Scott asked her.

Jean chuckled at that.

"No time soon, at least," Jean replied as she dropped her eyes to look at the southern pair below.

xxxxx

Rogue and Remy were breathing heavily as they got up off the floor. Their clothes were ripped and both were worn down. But they smiled at each other as they realised they'd done it.

"Good work. Get cleaned up," Logan's voice said over the speakers.

Remy and Rogue went to do just that.

"Well, dat took un intéressant twist from what I be expectin'. What made y' turn y' back on y' boy scout's procedures?" he asked.

Rogue rolled her eyes as she heard Remy's dig.

"Didn't fancy cleanin' ya guts off the wall when Logan got through wit' y'," Rogue replied.

"An' now de real reason?" Remy asked, coming to a stop as the pair waited for the elevator.

Rogue stared at the glowing button, wishing it would light up already.

"Felt like doin' a run," she said.

Rogue felt a tingle down her neck as Remy moved closer to her ear.

"Really? An' why you feel de need t' do one like dat, hmmm, chérie?" Remy questioned.

Rogue felt her eyes flutter close at the sensation Remy gave her. Heat was rising in her stomach and putting her in an awkward spot. Luckily, the dinging of the elevator saved her.

"Enfrustratin' men for one," she said while moving her elbow, jabbing Remy in the gut just before she stepped forward and made the whole of the elevator floor her space.

"An' de second?" he asked, using the wall besides the elevator to lean against as he held his side.

Rogue had spun around to face Remy, her arms folded. Remy watched as a devilish smirk grew on her lips.

"Ah wanted t' see the look on Scott's face when we beat the level he could never guide anyone through. That, then gettin' the most stubborn, unabidin' person who nevah follows the rules t' do near enough everythin' ah say without question ,well, ah think that says everythin'," she said, her devilish smirk showing teeth just before the elevator doors closed and whisked her away.

Remy rested his head against the cool, metal doors. Slowly, a toothy smirk of his own appeared on his face as he realised both he and Scott had their arses handed to them. Quickly, he made route for the stairs, not wanting to miss Rogue rubbing the victory in Scott's face just like he knew she would.
