This piece was originally titled "Call Upon Me" and written in response to a Christmas challenge in 2004. I decided it could benefit from a rewrite. It's a combination adventure/angst/team fic with Jack as lead character.

Jack/Hailey SUMMARY: it's an established routine to use animals for research, even though they don't want to be used, but what happens when the tables are turned and it's the humans that are now considered animals by some other species?
