"Oi, That rabbit stole another one of my comic books!" The owner of the store ran out to the sidewalk, yelling at the white blur of fur that was sporadically hopping through the busy crowd, it, even crossed the bustling city street, weaving in between the traffic, getting to the other side without missing a beat.
The white hare turned into an alley, traveling through the back streets of the city. It started hopping at a casual pace once it reached a dead-end. It was hard to see because of the lack of light that reached this part of the city but there was a hole in the corner of the buildings. It was small enough that the hare always had to squeeze through, pushing the comic book in first.
On the other side of the hole was the hare's home. It was a make-shift burrow hidden inside the middle of the city. It was a small space, with probably only a couple cubic meters of area. In the burrow were blankets, tossed away trinkets, and comic books, some were old and brittle, others came from the trash, then their a few that were in good condition.
"I can't believe I was able to get a copy of All-Might, issue twenty-seven!"
The excited hare was Izuku! He had plopped himself in front of the comic, flipping the pages with his cute little green nose, enjoying his simple, yet unconventional life as a stray hare.
On the suburban side of the city, a new family was moving into their new home. Actually, it was a man with a class full of cats. Most of the kitties were rambunctious and started playing after they explored their new home. Except there was one that wasn't like the rest, she wasn't playing with the rest of them, She was on the second floor of the house, trying to figure out where her personal nesting area would be at.
She was an elegant black kitten that had a puffy white chest, she had a pink nose and matching paws. Her eyelashes were just as perky as her whiskers. Her tail was fluffy, resembling a spiral ponytail, and her right ear was always flopped downward, looking like a loose strand of hair. Unlike the other cats she was always prim and proper, she didn't want to tumble around with them just to get dirty. She even walked differently than most other cats, instead of being sneaky, moving with caution, she walked, or rather pranced like a princess as she made her way through the home. She found a window in an empty room, she figured some sunlight would be nice, and easily leapt up to the window ledge, She did stretch out her body before laying herself down to bathe in the sunlight.
She was on the verge of passing out until a dog's endless barking got her attention. She huffed but opened her eyes, staring out the window to the neighbor's yard, the barks were coming from a small blonde fluffy dog, she tilted her head adorably when she saw what the dog was barking at, "Ara, a wild hare?"
"Kacchan, Kacchan, the newest issue of All-might is awesome!" Izuku, the white hare was bounding towards his best friend.
"Damn it Deku! Die!" It was actually impossible for the small explosive puppy to be intimidating but he still tried. "Just tell me what happened in it and leave!" Despite his attitude, he was wagging his tail excited to see the hare.
The hare and puppy were having a conversation. The cat was curious, weren't canines natural predators to rabbits and the like? The cat wanted to find out more so she hopped off the window ledge and proceed to make her way outside to observe the two. The houses were only separated by a chain-link fence, and she walked all the way to it getting as close as she could before sitting down and watched them interact.
She noticed that the hare, despite its happy and friendly personality, had scars adorned on its pure snow pelt, mostly around his front right leg and paw. She then realized that his paws were green, his nose was green, even his eyes were green, giving him an electric aesthetic.
"And then All- Might raised his arm up in victory!" The hare stood on his hind legs and mimicked the pose. It wasn't until he finished telling Bakugo what happened that he noticed that a cat was blatantly, yet somehow politely, eavesdropping on their conversation.
Izuku turned to the cat that was sitting across the fence from them. He wrinkled his nose, picking up on her scent. As soon as Bakugo was aware of the cat he darted to the fence and barked at her. Izuku sweatdropped at his friend's greeting. The cat scurried away after being caught but as soon as he stopped barking the cat's interest returned and she did her best to sneak back without being noticed.
'She's too obvious!' Izuku had blank eyes. 'I thought cats were masters of stealth...'
At this point, Bakugo was distracted by something else and ran off to bark at whatever it was.
The cat seemed relieved that the dog was gone. It had returned to its original sitting spot, staring at Izuku. He was staring back at her, wondering where she came from, it wasn't until he noticed people moving boxes into the house that he realized, "Oh you're the new neighbors."
She was caught off guard by his outburst and was about to run off again but his voice was warm and kind.
The hare hopped closer to the fence, as did she but her advance was more reserved.
"I'm Izuku, it's nice to meet you."
"Hello, my name is Momo," She placed her paw over her chest as she introduced herself. "And yes, you're right we are currently in the process of moving into our new home," She attempted to fix her always flopped ear with the same paw but failed and gave up, setting her paw down. "It's nice to meet you as well." Intrigued by the presence of a wild hare running around.
Izuku was also intrigued, he had never met another animal that was so elegant and alluring.
The hare and cat were smiling towards each other from across the fence, both wondering where the newfound acquaintance would lead them.
