Rubbing his eye hard enough to make colors bloom under his eyelid, he yawned as he walked down the street with Wrath. The night was cold, but his jacket was enough to ward off the cold and make him all warm and cozy. His ass was pretty cold though," Wrath, what are we doing?" he skirted around a group of drunken adults. It was late into the night, the bars were letting out, and the drunks and underaged minors were being kicked out. He was wearing his usual fighting gear, since Wrath told him to, and his hair was waxed black again. Next to him, was Wrath, as expected, and he was wearing his fighting gear as well.

"Well," Wrath led him into the alleyway, where Black paused at the entrance before following Wrath in," we're just taking a small trip."

"To a place where we can get raped, murdered, mugged or all of the above?"

Wrath let out a bark of laughter as he climbed onto a dumpster," No, just trust me," Black watched Wrath as he jumped up and grabbed the bottom of a fire escape ladder with his hands before hauling himself up. Black stared up at him with a frown on his face," Yeah, this is a terrible idea."

"You don't even know what we're doing!"

"Well," Black grunted as he hauled himself up the ladder, using nothing but his upper arm strength to do so," I already know this is a terrible idea."

"Ye with such little faith," Wrath spoke as he walked up the fire escape," Its gonna be great, trust!" Black groaned and almost rolled his eyes before following Wrath up the fire escape, they didn't stop until they were standing on the roof and were standing parallel to the nearby building. The wind was even colder up there, and the cold bite deep into his bones, making him shiver and sink into his jacket even more.

"Alright, now we just gotta jump."

Excuse me?

"You're fucking insane." He said that with no hesitation. Granted, it's not like there was a wide chasm between the two buildings, any athlete could easily make it.

Only it was a terrible fucking idea.

"Come on! I know you can make it!"

"That's not the point Wrath, the point is that I don't want to be jumping in between buildings!"

"Sounds like bitch talk to me."

"Listen, you can jump and fall to your death, you're like the fork to my soup anyway."

"did you just call me worthless?"

"You might as well be if you're thinking of shit like this!"

"Its like five feet man!"

"Like hell it is!"

"Ok fine, its seven feet, I measured it the first time I did this, but the point is that you'll be fine."

"The point is that this has got to be the worst idea that you have ever thought of."

"Worse than the dirt rock incident?"

" this is definitely worse than the dirt rock incident."

"Trust me, it'll be fine." And without letting Black protest further, Wrath stepped a few steps back before he easily jumped over the gap, landing silently on the fire escape across from him, Wrath turned around with a bright smile" See, I made it just fine, I'll catch you." Jokingly, he extended his hands as if Black was a child that was learning how to walk.

He curled up his lips in a snarl, now he was just annoyed that Wrath was teasing him like that," Fine! This better be worth it." And within seconds, he was standing next to Wrath on the fire escape, slapping away Wrath's hands as his friend jokingly tried to ruffle his hair and dote on him.

After getting punched, Wrath let out an annoying 'Aw, you're growing up so fast. Before he practically sprinted up the fire escape. Shaking his head in frustration, he followed Wrath up the fire escape.

Again, they didn't stop until they were on the rooftop. Leaning over on his knees, he panted heavily.

"Come on man," He looked up at Wrath, who was waving him over enthusiastically. With a groan of exasperation, he straightened himself up and walked over to Wrath, where he was standing a slightly concerning distance from the ledge.

His breath caught in his throat.

He didn't realize it, but they were standing on one of the tallest buildings in the area. It was late at night, but it didn't stop the buildings from creating a beautiful night skyline. It was bright, the tall buildings and the cars on the street level creating a moving portrait.

There was a chuckle," Cool right?" Wrath groaned like an old man as he sat down on the roof, propping his arm onto his knee as he looked at the view," I like coming up here sometimes," He pulled on Blacks sleeve, a silent order for his friend to sit down, something that he did happily.

There was a gust of wind that made them both shiver, and Black wrapped his arms around himself at the gust," its cold, but its worth it. Besides, they cant hear us up here."

That made Blacks face scrunch up in a frown.

What does he mean by 'hear us up here'?"

Wrath lept up to his feet and scared the living shit out of Black by screaming at the top of his lungs.

The only thing he could do was stare at Wrath with wide, surprised eyes as Wrath screamed his heart out, his voice dipping into those deeper tones that portrayed the amount of frustration and anger that he felt.

Another ten seconds of Wrath screaming, and his scream quickly died away, and just like he didn't do anything, he let out a sigh of relief and shrugged out his shoulders," Come on," even though he just made Black sit down, he pulled Black onto his feet," Do it with me, it feels good."

Oh, there was no way Black was going to pass up that chance.

Between everything going on at home, school, and the fact that he couldn't go and fight out his frustration as always, he always felt like screaming. One time he did it into his pillow, but it was loud enough to remind his father that he was still a thing so it just started another round of his door being abused.

Taking in a deep breath, he screamed.

Wrath was taken aback on the way he suddenly started screaming, but he just let his friend let out his emotions.

His scream was guttural, and he could hear all of his pent-up emotions in the deepening tones of the scream. It was deep and painful. He could hear Black's pain, frustration, anger, and any other emotion that was being pent up. It was a scream that no one should ever let out, let alone a mere 16-year-old, who was simply trying his best to cope with his extremely shitty situation. It almost hurt him to hear his friend let out such a painful scream.

He would have been impressed with how long the scream was if it was any other time.

The scream Black let out left him panting and taking in deep breathes greedily. He let the smaller boy get some oxygen back into his body before asking," Feeling better?"

Black panted for a few more seconds before glancing over at Wrath and giving him a nod, there was the smallest trace of a smile on his lips, the first smile in almost a week.

Wrath did not miss his chance to make a big deal out of it," Hey!" he put on his hands on Black's back and started to forcefully rock his friend side to side, much to his annoyance," You're smiling!"

Instead of reacting like he thought he would, Black let out a small yelp and grabbed onto Wrath," Wrath wait wait wait!" Wrath didn't realize what was the problem until he realized that his antics had gotten them closer to the ledge than he realized. much closer. He could feel an updraft coming from the ledge of the building, ruffling his hair and clothes in the process.

Letting out a small gasp of horror, he hauled the both of them away from the ledge to safety.

Collapsing onto their behinds, they both panted heavily as they realized just how close they had been to the ledge because of Wrath fooling around.

"Wrath you freaking idiot!" despite the insult, Black's voice was breathless as he got over his initial panic. He gave his friend a halfhearted punch just to prove his point.

Wrath didn't even bother trying to argue with him. That was honestly and truly 100% his fault," y-yeah, my bad…" he got another punch.

Wrath recoiled and rubbed at his arm," Hey! What was that for?!"

Black scooted further away from the ledge before he got back onto his feet," you deserved it!"

Ok, that was fair.

Again, he wasn't going to argue with that.

"Hey!"

Oh crap.

Black mirrored the face that he had as they started at each other. they both froze at the sudden voice that yelled over the wind. Wrath scrambled to his feet," Come on, we gotta go."

"what why?"

"…because that may or may not be the security guard trying to catch us…?" Black just stared at him, his face and blue eyes scrunched up in annoyance.

"I fucking hate you."

"You love me."

"you're the only one who can get me into trouble like this."

"You love me."

"Fuck off."

"You love me."

"I tolerate your ass."

"Fair enough."

"Fucking shit! Fuuucking shit!"

"Wrath! I will kill you!"

"More running less talking!"

"Hey! Get back here!"

Black made a face that was a mixture of fear and anger as he ran down the alleyway. They were running down the alley together, side by side as they were being chased by some very persistent, 'security guards'.

And by 'security guards', he meant police officers.

Because Wrath had been so wise to tell him that it was security guards who were chasing him and not officers.

He was going to kill him.

"I fucking hate you Wrath!"

"You hate a lot of things you bitter asshat!"

"And you do a lot of stupid shit!"

"Oh just fucking run!"

And run they did.

They ran until they couldn't hear anything behind them until they were in the middle of a neighborhood and a park. Deciding that it was a good idea to wash off the hair wax, Black went over to the faucets and rinsed it off. Wrath was quick to copy him.

They were silent as they rinsed off their hair, but that silence was interrupted by a sudden chuckle from his rival.

Black wiped the water away from his eyes to look at Wrath, who was leaning over the cement sink, all while chuckling like a mad man.

"You know, considering that we just got chased by a pair of officers, you have nothing to be laughing about."

"I know but-" his voice was strangled as he spoke through his chuckles and snorts," You should have seen your face!" Wrath finally broke down into loud, belly-aching laughter, falling onto his knees with his hands wrapped around his stomach as he laughed and laughed.

Black scowled at the mention of his face, but as soon as he remembered the face Wrath had made, he started laughing as well. His blank and emotionless face breaking down as he vividly saw Wraths panicked and scared face in his mind," Pfttt! Damn it!"

"I know!" Wrath was rolling on the ground, gasping out his words between his bouts of laughter," god you looked so scared!"

Black started laughing even louder at that," I looked scared?! You looked like you were going to shit your pants!"

"I almost did!"

"Hahaha! Don't say that!"

'It's the truth!"

By that time, the two of them were rolling around on the ground, laughing loudly and happily. They were sure that they were thoroughly creeping out the few residents that were still awake at that time, but they didn't care.

Gasping out his words, Wrath laid on the ground, staring up at the night sky," ow, ow my stomach."

That made Black let out another chuckle again.

Their hair was dripping wet, their clothes were filthy and they were tired and sweaty.

But they couldn't take their smiles off of their faces, even if they had tried.

"So," Wrath interrupted the silence, but Black actually didn't mind that time," Is this still worse than the dirt rock incident."

That made a bark of laughter escape Blacks lips.

"Oh this definitely worse than the dirt rock incident."

"Fuck yeah."
