He was being followed again. While annoyed, he would give the being credit for being persistent. This was the eighth time this week. He picked up speed, but the female matched him, impressive to say the least, for this female was indeed a child.

Why him, he would never understand. Of all the people this girl could cling to, why him?

Sesshomaru stopped dead, but she had not seen it coming and overshot, stopping a little too late she was now in front of him.

"Inuharra,"

She was eight years old. She beamed up at him her little doggish ears wiggling, reminding him, not that he needed a reminder, that she was also halfbreed.

"Uncle Sesshomaru!"

"Does your father know you are here?"

"Yep,"

At first, Inuyasha was quite annoyed that his only daughter adored his only brother, but then to see Sesshomaru annoyed made it better, well somewhat. No one really knew why the child liked him so much; it wasn't like he was a doting uncle. Ok, maybe slightly, but he was firm and did not give affection to the child, which children seem to need.

"Why have you come?"

"So that you won't be lonely on your hunt,"

He wanted to sigh, she had a hard time understanding that being by yourself didnt mean you were lonely, but she insisted that he was. He wasn't going to argue with her. Rin found it all amusing and was very little help to him. He figured she would be a help to him because she also followed him as a child, but that was quite different.

"Inuharra this Sesshomaru is not lonely, it is the Alphas job to hunt for the pack," Not that he was hunting for anyone, he wasn't.

"Uncle Sesshomaru, can I be Alpha one day?"

His first reaction was to snort, but he didn't. "That belongs primarily to the male,"

Her ears went down,

"However, it is not impossible for you to become an Alpha,"

Her ears perked up.

"Why do you wish to become Alpha?"

"So I can be like you,"

That's what got to him. For a halfbreed, she wished for nothing more than to be like him and not in a full demon sense. No, she wished to soak up their bloodline, their culture. She was nothing like her father.

"Lady Kagome said I could be whatever I want, and I want to be like you!"

He liked to think, even though that Kagome was not her mother, that she was a positive influence on the girl. After the jewel was returned to her, she quickly sought out power to control it and the well, it took her well over two years, but she did it. It was an amazing feat; he would give her due credit. Though the jewel restored Kikyo's wrongful death, Kagome did not wish for anything like it to happen again, and making the right wish was never a thing; there was no right wish. Only a powerful containment.

During that time, Inuyasha married Kikyo and had a child.

Inuharra.

Kagome still lived in the future but back traveled back when needed or for holiday as she called it. But those trips became less and less. He had not seen her in two years.

"Hn, she is correct,"

They began to walk back; his hunt was actually over.

"Uncle,"

"Hn?"

"When are you gonna have a baby,"

He stopped dead and looked down at her. She was innocent.

"Why do you ask such a question?"

"I duno, to have someone to play with?"

"You have a brother,"

"I want a sister,"

Kikyo wasn't having any more.

"And if I had a son?"

She looked thoughtfully, and then shrugged,

"Uncle Sesshomaru, can I spend the night with you?"

He wanted to rub his eyes, but how could he deny her; after all, she wasn't going to learn their ways from her father.

"Very well, tell your father,"

She smiled brightly and ran back home to gather her stuff. He calmly waited for her. Inuyasha came out of his home and gave his brother a wave, Sesshomaru nodded.

Inuharra joined her uncle and grabbed his hand, "I'm ready!"

Why did he need children when he had her.

He would not lie even if he wanted to know, and he knew everyone else knew it. He adored her, loved her, and all hatred and misunderstanding of halfbreeds had left him the day she was born.

In his eyes, she was perfect just as she was.
