Chapter 4!

Glad to be writing some comedy again cause it was real fun and refreshing as well as I didn't have too much worry about what moving parts needed to be set up or whatnot.

Anyways I updated a few stories today so check those out, Slice of Light and If It All Breaks got two chapters each. Also I'm working on the updates for The First Steps Upwards and Midair Collide, they just felt like they were missing things so I'm holding off on putting those out.

User/Reviewer Melancholy's Sunshine: Ah thank for the info, that's pretty cool! Definitely gonna write a lot of Mom Night cause it's really funny

User/Reviewer Cyde: You super nailed the ideas about Izumi actually. I'm glad you're enjoying the story and hopefully the pace isn't so bad considering the idea and genre was more from a humorous point when I cam up with it. Still trying to show off the progress they're making between writing just fun things. Thanks as always for your reviews!

User/Reviewer EndlessChains: Thanks as always for the review! I love just writing comedy with this group and in their own right they're all kinda crazy but that's fun too of course. It's not gonna take long for Nemuri to get roped into their antics either.

User/Reviewer yomunot: Good wholesome fun is always great indeed and yeah I kind like Izzy x Set too in this story, I mean TFSU has the pairing so of course I like it lol, but for now I'll keep it casual fun and such. Doesn't mean we can't have sweet moments though.

User/Reviewer Althea Sirius: All Might and Izumi/Izuku do have a fun dynamic but I can't see how to particularly involve him to be honest since OFA isn't really part of the story here. I might add more characters in that the group meets and interacts with but as for the core I'm pretty much locked in.

To everyone who faved, followed, or reviewed thank you so much!

Disclaimer: I don't own BNHA

Enjoy, more notes at the end!

Chapter 4: Teacher? Mother? Same Difference

*Midnight POV*

Nemuri took her time walking over to the gym that the kids regularly practiced at as she thought of just what she might be in for for today.

Getting permission from their parents hadn't been much of an issue since overall the adults were pleased that the group, namely Izumi, Tetsutetsu, and Setsuna, were now being properly supervised. Nemuri even got a good laugh when the other parents recalled the three's famous 'river incident' in which Setsuna was practicing her quirk and some of her split parts were swept away, then Izumi's leg cramped when she swam after her, and finally Tetsutetsu was forced to run alongside the riverbank for far too long before the three all remembered that they could easily stand in said river.

Summer had finally come and since Nemuri had a bit of a break from the school side of her work she was able to use her off time to properly help the group out. They had already given her a rundown on their abilities, quirks, and just what they had been currently working on and so far they had a decent start.

The group's biggest goal had seemed to be bringing Hitoshi up to speed and Nemuri still had a good idea of just how to use the capture scarf. She, Hizashi, and Oboro had all learned the basics of using it back in the day when Shouta was still working out the kinks himself so she was confident that she could help the purple haired boy reach an acceptable level.

Setsuna's quirk techniques were impressive and she had quite the head for action when she wasn't acting like such a prankster. On the other hand, she was lacking in power and a set way of fighting without her quirk.

Tetsutetsu had an abundance of drive, a good grasp on fighting with and without his quirk but he needed to both stretch the limit of his power while also not using it in a wasteful fashion. It also wouldn't hurt if he put a little more thought into things before charging in head on.

Izumi was clearly the best of the group in all fields but she did still lack two distinct things, experience and a challenge. Experience would be something she'd gain eventually through the hero course but a challenge was something that was a bit tougher to give her. Izumi may have been the highest level but that also meant she grew the slowest if they were all doing something of the same difficulty. The rabbit girl had far more energy than Nemuri initially imagined and the glasses wearing woman hadn't been able to find the greenette's limits in the limited time that they had during each session.

Most of the time during sessions had gone towards Hitoshi and Setsuna who needed help with more technical things and had more of a disadvantage given the entrance exam, something that the kids had already known of by asking their previous upperclassmen, while Izumi and Tetsutetsu worked on the physical side of things.

Nemuri briefly paused just outside the door and tried to listen closely to avoid whatever ruckus those kids had to have been causing. Not hearing any of the usual loud chatter only made her more on edge as she wondered just what the little hellions could have planned.

Having been added to their little group chat, Nemuri already saw and was becoming familiar with the ridiculous daily adventures and antics of theirs through a collection of photos and videos. Setsuna's floating head getting stuck in a tree because of her hair, Hitoshi slumped over a bench like a dead man while the bunny girl and metal boy prayed for him, Tetsutetsu practically breathing fire from eating spicy curry, and Izumi doing a series of flips on a bridge only to completely overshoot and take a dive into the river below.

Steeling herself, the off duty hero entered only to find her little students laying about in a circle while scribbling about in a series of notebooks, their usual equipment strewn about or surrounding them as they chatted seriously. Hitoshi seemed to be contemplating something while Tetsutetsu appeared to be reassuring him and Setsuna was laying beside and slightly behind Izumi, likely snuggling up to her fellow greenette per usual. Nemuri gave a sigh of relief, her suspicions having dissipated knowing of their, occasional, hardwork.

Izumi suddenly perked up and turned her way as Nemuri began walking over, "Hiya Miss Nemuri! You're right on time!" the rabbit girl grinned energetically though still lying down with the others.

The other three's voices greeted her in chorus and Nemuri smiled back at them, "I see you're all working hard today, good job." she praised, these kids did work impressively when they wanted.

Continuing on her path Nemuri nearly bumped into a motorcycle helmet on her way, "What could you possibly need this for?" the glasses wearing woman questioned, bending over to pick it up.

"Izumi brought it for Tetsu and I when we're working with the capture scarf," Hitoshi revealed with a yawn, "said it would be good to have just in case."

"Yep! Who knows if it might be useful!" Tetsu chimed in loudly.

"It's pretty durable too! Give it a look before you toss it over!" Izumi added in and Nemuri took it in both hands, beginning to examine it from the back.

"Seems so," Nemuri observed as she gave it a few taps with her fingers, slowly turning it as she studied it. Giving it a final turn to the front face mask, Nemuri jumped when she saw a head staring back at her. "SHIT!" the hero gave a yelp and tossed the helmet into the air instinctively.

The bunny eared greenette caught the helmet with a diving leap and promptly landed with a belly flop as her hands held the item above and behind her head. Izumi slid across the floor for a while before abruptly stopping, a moment of silence following before she removed one hand from the helmet and gave a thumbs up from her face planted position.

Nemuri quickly swiveled her head back towards Tetsu and Hitoshi, the former clutching his stomach as he howled with laughter and a few snickers escaping the purple haired boy. While Setsuna's body was there, her head wasn't and Nemuri began to hear both the greenettes' giggles following closely after.

"Then how did Setsuna greet me without sounding muffled?" Nemuri growled in annoyance at her students and herself for even believing that they wouldn't try and pull something like this on her.

Setsuna's headless body held up a phone and gave it a tap prompting it to play a voice clip of the splitting girl's greeting from before, some of the obviousness of it being masked by Hitoshi and Tetsu greeting her alongside the recording earlier. Nemuri couldn't even commend them for their preparedness considering they'd gone and made her the butt of the joke.

"Just when I was thinking you kids could actually work seriously." the teacher shook her head, exasperated by their ridiculous nature.

"Wait we totally worked hard too!" Izumi exclaimed readily, "show her the thing Set!" the rabbit eared girl tried, throwing the helmet with her fellow greenette's disembodied head inside of it back at her own body, Setsuna's cry of surprise being muffled by the closed helmet.

The protective gear stopped around Setsuna's body and she reattached her head, helmet and all, before picking up a notebook and holding it and her right fist out while her left hand held onto her outstretched arm's bicep. Nemuri watched as the lizard loving girl's right fist, up to the elbow, was quickly fired off like a rocket punch.

"OW!" Izumi yelped as the flying fist met her forehead and the rabbit girl flopped right onto her back.

"See that?" The two boys said in unison to their mentor and Izumi kicked her legs to sit up, her hands clutched at her injured forehead.

"Setty, what was that for!" The greenette whined and Setsuna flicked the face mask of the helmet up.

"Don't go throwing my head out of nowhere!" The angry greenette exclaimed, "at least you could have taken my head out and hugged it to yourself for a little bit!"

"That's what you're mad about?" Tetsu, Hitoshi, and Izumi exclaimed in disbelief and Setsuna turned her head up defiantly.

"Everyday I go without hugging Izzy is a day not worth living!" The splitting girl proclaimed proudly and dramatically.

"Idiot pervert!"

"Don't be proud of that!"

"What is wrong with your head?"

The four continued their bickering, and all Nemuri could do was bury her head in her hand and shake it, what was wrong with her kids?

Clapping her hands together to get the group's attention, the glasses wearing hero tried to bring them all back on track. "Well is there anything else you've all actually been working on?" She wondered, getting the four to line up in an annoying mock salute.

"I've been activating my quirk only on select areas to use energy more efficiently as well as trying to reach different levels of toughness!" Tetsu informed loud and proud with a toothy grin and a pump of the fist.

With a yawn Hitoshi used a hand to roll his neck, "I managed to wrap up Tetsu about 6 out of 10 times with the capture scarf and was able to wrap the ceiling bars a few times while midair." The purple boy reported, a little disheveled from clearly working out as well.

"Rocket limbs!" Setsuna laughed with a pair of finger guns and a bounce.

Turning her attention to her final child, Nemuri met Izumi's beaming and expectant gaze as the rabbit girl eagerly held out a notebook. "I came up with super move names!"

The woman gazed down at the outstretched notebook and then back to Izumi, the girl's expression showing off just how pleased with herself she was and Nemuri couldn't resist so she readily took the book and opened it. She wondered just what a creative girl like Izumi had been able to come up with.

Flipping through the pages, Nemuri's expectations continued crumbling one after the other as she read out the names in her head. The names, while not the worst, were awful in their own rights and Izumi's messed up naming sense appeared to stem from a fixation of rabbit and moon based wordplay as every single name was one of them.

"So what do you think?!" Izumi pressed energetically, those bright green eyes glowing with joy and curiously awaiting an answer.

Nemuri didn't want to let those eyes down but the names were...not good and there had to be at least 30 of them to boot. Peering just to the side of the rabbit greenette's gaze, the hero teacher tried looking for some kind of help from the others but was met with all three of them with their heads turned and whistling innocently. Those kids clearly knew just what was in these pages and had left it up to Nemuri to be the one to break the news.

"It looks like you've only got the names so far and they're not yet connected to a move," Nemuri tried carefully and Izumi quietly waited for her to continue while the other three looked confused, "for now it would be good to come up with the movements first and then you can use these as a basis, like a first draft." The glasses wearing woman suggested and Izumi nodded her head thoughtfully, crisis averted.

Instantly taking the words to heart, Izumi hopped off suddenly and began her usual jumping about while Nemuri breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'm so mad you got out of that." Setsuna huffed in disappointment, her arms crossed at the woman's narrow escape.

"I've been a teacher for a while, don't go underestimating me," Nemuri laughed at the other greenette's annoyance.

"I thought you were gonna break it to her." Hitoshi admitted and Tetsu grumbled in agreement.

"Izu loves anything and everything rabbit and moon related so this'll come up again," the steel boy warned and Nemuri made a note to keep that in mind, "and under no circumstance bring up both at once." Tetsu spoke seriously for once and Hitoshi and Setsuna nodded along to Nemuri's confusion.

"What could rabbits and the moon possibly have in common?" The woman laughed but heard a tearful sniffle as their local rabbit girl suddenly landed in front of them.

"You mean there's no rabbits on the moon?" Izumi's voice whimpered sadly, her tone that of someone whose worldview was just about to be shattered.

Behind the disheartened girl, Hitoshi, Tetsu, and Setsuna were desperately trying to signal Nemuri that this was something she had to avoid at all costs. The steel boy put his arms up in a large X, the typically calm Hitoshi nervously glanced back and forth from Nemuri to Izumi, and Setsuna had a finger up to her mouth in a classic shushing manner.

There was no way this one was going to be on Nemuri, "Uh well who knows! You know what they say about quirks, if not for them we'd have been exploring all of space," Nemuri managed to remember despite her panic, "there could be rabbits on the moon for all we know!" the sleep inducing heroine suggested and the rabbit girl instantly perked up a bit.

"See I knew it!" Izumi readily agreed, bouncing up and taking Nemuri's words at face value.

"Well moving on," Nemuri shifted topics, not looking forward to getting into another tight situation, "time for your punishments." the woman grinned darkly as the fours' expressions drooped before they exploded in a chorus of cries.

"What for?!"

"Not fair!"

"WHY?!"

"We don't deserve this!"

Nemuri laughed loudly, more to herself than anything, and settled back on the group, "Did you all really expect me to let that prank slide?"

"Sore loser!"

"It was their idea."

"You fell for it!"

"Er, I gotta go."

"This is facing the consequences of your actions kids." Nemuri lectured them as she shrugged off their complaints, "Let's see," Nemuri thought out loud, the four fools grumbling about getting cheated, "Just for today, Hitoshi no napping, Tetsu no ramen, Izumi no exercising, and Setsuna no cuddling Izumi." the heroine rattled off and saw the comically devastated faces staring back at her before she smiled and closed her eyes in satisfaction. However, instead of another outburst like she was expecting Nemuri found her kids all look at each other and then back at her and something clicked all of a sudden, "Don't you kids dare." she began but Izumi had already snatched Hitoshi and Tetsu and slung them over each shoulder while Setsuna latched to her back.

"I'm running!" the rabbit girl yelled out as she bolted with the other three.

"Night." Hitoshi yawned and slumped dead, presumably to sleep.

"Ramen flavored snack!" Tetsu announced, a wrapper high in the air like a chest item from a game.

"As if you could stop me from hugging Izzy!" Setsuna stuck out her tongue and gave Nemuri a thumbs down.

Nemuri could almost feel a vein throb in her head, both at them doubling down and at their new level of stupidity, "YOU'RE IN A GYM YOU IDIOTS WHERE ARE YOU RUNNING TO!" She howled after them and Izumi came to a skidding stop.

"Yeah we are aren't we?" Setsuna realized, hitting the bottom of her fist into her other palm.

"How did I miss that," Hitoshi marveled in surprise.

"Shit, now what?" Tetsu tried as he crunched on his food.

Izumi simply stared at Nemuri and then to the door at her left, "ORA!" the rabbit girl roared as she kicked it open and promptly escaped.

"CLEAN UP'S ON YOU MOM!" the four called, their voices disappearing in the distance and Nemuri snapped out of her shock and looked at the scattered equipment that she was now responsible for.

The woman sighed in defeat but suddenly realized what they said and swiveled around, "MOM?!"

Notes and Stuff

This whole chapter, while having brief info on the progress of the group, is just a comedy gag isn't it?

I love writing comedic stuff and the dynamic of the group really helps and now Mom-Night going forward. Nemuri is going to have a hell of a time dealing with her four kids. Also rabbits on the moon, that was fun to write and of course there's folklore and connected folklore to that, I was specifically thinking of Kaguya-hime cause Kaguya is one of my options for Izumi's hero name. Considering that and Izumi looking up to Miruko, she loves all things rabbit and moon based. Also off of that and because I personally love wordplay jokes, I gave Izumi an affinity for moon and rabbit wordplay as well as poor naming sense.

I'll probably POV hop more next chapter as this one was getting their progress and integrating Nemuri into the group. Though I will say Nemuri's gonna get a surprising number of POVs during this story as a lot of some of the jokes and funny situations can best come from her view. Of course I don't know how far off at the moment but I promise Miruko POV in the future.

By the way, this update was a part of a batch as I updated If It All Breaks and Slice of Light with 2 chapters each. This was a single chapter update here though.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
