New story! Another idea that had just been sitting in my drafts but I found a way to progress with and wanted to put it out there.
It's Fem!Izuku (Izumi) x Shiozaki Ibara this time around and as usual I'm switching up Izumi's personality and I'm also going to make some slight changes to Ibara's as well. At this rate I'll just need to write an Izumi x Kinoko story and I'll have done all of the 1-B girls x Izumi
I won't reveal the full scope of Izumi's quirk just yet but per usual it's a reference to something else which I'll name once I fully show it off.
Heads up going forward and I'll mention this on applicable chapters as well but this is the story that I mentioned was going to be on the darker and probably more disturbing end. I'll make sure to properly add warnings in these top notes as well as before the scenes in the story.
Disclaimer: I don't own BNHA or the reference.
Enjoy, more notes at the end!
Chapter 1: Spread Wings
*Ibara POV*
"Your views are too narrow."
While Ibara had become used to hearing that statement from others, it still bothered her to some extent.
Ibara originally hadn't been going to attend U.A but she had managed to convince her parents to allow her to do so by using the school's prestige and results. Due to her upbringing she felt conflicted over twisting the truth slightly to get her way but she had also felt a bit of exhilaration. Ibara did truthfully want to go to U.A over other hero schools but it was for a desire to expand her views of the world in a more unfamiliar area. She had never truly questioned her parent's decisions or suggestions when she was younger but now those same things made her feel like she was in a box. Sheltered and unable to experience things for herself, how was she supposed to learn if she wasn't allowed to?
Ibara wasn't sure what things were going to be like at U.A but she wanted to try her best to see things and understand them for herself before any kind of judgement was made. She was worried, worried about changing too much and straying off path but she reminded herself that this was her choice. That being said, there was one person Ibara had caught a glimpse of and was doing her best to understand her while trying to not judge her.
Midoriya Izumi from 1-A.
Initially, Ibara had seen her at the end of the entrance exam and found that the girl gave her a strange feeling. It was almost as if she purposefully being quiet or subduing herself and the vine haired girl found it a bit off putting. However, during the 3 months in between the exam and school starting Ibara decided she couldn't base her knowledge about the girl on a simple glance and a 'bad' feeling. While for some reason the girl may have rubbed her the wrong way, she couldn't simply judge her as some kind of deviant or else her decision to broaden her views would have been pointless.
There had been a villain attack during 1-A's trip to the USJ the other day and a number of the students, her own classmates included, had gone to 'observe' the class in question. Ibara herself had been drawn in by the crowd and was going to reprimand them for their discourteous behavior but Midoriya had gotten to them first.
On a second look, the girl was practically angelic for lack of a better word and carried herself gracefully with a calming demeanor. Fluffy white wings extended from around her lower back and a long matching beast tail was connected there as well, moving nigh hypnotically. Her ears were a tad larger and slightly pointed adding onto her unique image, long green locks were left down to sway freely and freckles dotted her cheeks just below her brilliant green eyes. Ibara even found herself admiring the girl's beauty while she calmed the students and diffused the situation.
After the gathering had started thinning, Ibara found herself in the company of Midoriya, the girl walking beside her and exchanging pleasantries to Ibara's minor delight. The vine haired girl didn't feel necessarily guarded but she did feel just a bit self conscious about her words and thoughts, not wanting to offend the other girl by carelessly preaching her beliefs, a habit which Ibara was trying to be mindful of nowadays. She did feel a bit uncomfortable although it was likely a mix of her nervousness trying to make a new friend as well as her attempts to try and not stare at her companion. Midoriya's smile was gentle and Ibara asked if winged girl would accompany her again in the future which she agreed to.
Ibara was looking forward to getting to know Midoriya but she also couldn't shake the prevailing feeling of nervousness. She hoped they could get along.

*Momo POV*
Momo's family was, well off, and many times she had been present for some of the high class gatherings that her parents were required to attend. Therefore, she could at least spot when someone was keeping to themselves with a polite mask and her classmate Midoriya was one of them. The green haired girl seemed to do so as a means to keep people at arm length, likely not wanting to get too close to people too soon. It was no problem really, even Todoroki kept away from the class but that was mainly due to his slightly frigid attitude where as Midoriya was able to be politely involved with conversations.
A couple of their classmates likened Midoriya to a saint or an angel, that one due to her quirk, and Momo could see the comparison. Midoriya was kind, helpful, and gentle, her very presence capable of easing away other people's worries. The winged girl was relatively soft spoken and often smiled warmly while she interacted with the class. Her quirk was also one of particular interest for the class, Midoriya letting them know that it was both a passive and transformation type quirk.
It was quite unique and from the gist of what Midoriya told them Momo found out that the greenette was...
Physically stronger and more durable, especially in her transformed state which the girl said took too much energy to maintain.
Gifted with enhanced senses such as sight, hearing, and smell.
Capable of flight, she did have wings.
Able to generate and absorb incredible amounts of heat.
A number of the students were impressed by her highly versatile quirk but Bakugo had kept his distance from her, some teasing that he didn't want to get shown up, well the boy didn't seem to really get along with anyone really. Midoriya even expressed that she had never met Bakugo before when others questioned her about his behavior.
Momo had acquainted herself and spent time with the girl since the first day of school and in private she had informed the green haired girl that she could relax more around her if she desired. Midoriya had seemed to gain some interest at her words and thanked Momo, her polite speech easing minutely which Momo took as a good sign. The winged girl wouldn't let everything show immediately but at least there was progress and Momo got a feeling that Midoriya would be quite the interesting person once she got to know her.

*All Might POV*
Toshinori was still learning the ropes as a teacher and while he wasn't playing favorites, one of the 1-A students was standing out from the rest. Midoriya Izumi.
She had caught his eye since the practical exam when she calmly and confidently dispatched the robots while providing assistance to the other testers. Her moves were smooth and practiced and she used her transformed sharp heated nails to slice through the fake villains with precision and ease. She had easily passed the test near the top and once she began attending U.A the greenette caught his attention again during the battle trials.
Her adaptive strategies, experienced prowess, and accurate analysis had allowed her and her team to readily claim victory without going all out. The winged girl had excellent control over her own body and quirk and only used the bare minimum amount of force so she didn't harm anyone outside of reason. However, what had really forced Toshinori to be extra mindful of her was the incident at the USJ.
He arrived at the scene, his two fellow heroes incapacitated and he had gone down to the plaza only to find the leader of the attack raging at Midoriya. Toshinori had heard the villain's words about Midoriya ruining his secret weapon that was created to kill him and how despite it having multiple quirks, that detail unnerving Toshinori, she had gone and screwed everything up. The mentioned 'weapon' was some kind of humanoid monster with a hulking body and a birdlike head with an exposed brain. The creature laid on its side, staring off lifelessly as if it were dead or just completely unresponsive. The green haired girl that was there was unharmed and observed the villain carefully all the way until he was forced to retreat with the warp gate quirk user.
After Toshinori had cleared up the rest of the villains with the rest of the staff as they appeared, he listened intently to the information Midoriya gave to himself and his friend Tsukauchi. The winged girl filled them in on the creature known as Nomu and its multiple quirks, engineered body and its status as a living doll. She told them that to defeat it she was forced to practically melt its brain until it took too much damage for it to heal or ran out of energy with Toshinori apologizing for her having to go though such an event. The girl took the situation in stride and only after did Toshinori think about how calm she remained, more than likely putting up a brave face for herself and others.
Either way, Midoriya was someone that had a lot of potential.
Notes and stuff
I'm not gonna fully redo Ibara's personality of course but I wanted ways for her to change and grow that weren't just heroic ideals. So I made it so she was a bit sheltered and constrained. I'm not trying to move her away from religion or anything but I did want her to be trying to formulate her opinions based on her experiences, it'll be a work in progress all around.
There's been a lack of Momo in my stories and as such she's going to be the close friend this time around. She's not there with Izumi yet but I'll say it now to expect more Momo going forward.
I wanted to start this story a little farther up rather than prior to U.A and hopefully everyone sees why when I really get the ball rolling which shouldn't take too long I believe. Another thing though and this is the toughest part, I'm going to try and use less of Izumi's POV during some things. It'll be a challenge and if it doesn't work going forward then that's alright but I have some ideas that can only really flourish if Izumi isn't the one giving the play by play.
The Izumi x Rumi story is coming soon and I promise that at least it will be the next new story I post. I'm really trying to keep it romance and light, it'll have it's serious moments but I want it to mostly be fun and heartwarming.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
