(Author's Note: This story is more a collection of ways the RWBY fanfic Null on FF dot net by Coeur-Al-Aran Story ID: 13492440 could have gone. I've been working on a sequel, about half done now, but talking with a few others, this is one of his most interesting works, in terms of how different it is from the original RWBY World, but also in character interactions and the like. It affected me in all the best ways...but it's not without its issues.

The ending being a big one, as CAA usually ends his stories well, but here the ending is less satisfying due to the lack of details. Which is why I'm working on a fanfic for that. But in doing that, I've had not only my own ideas on what could have happened, but others have suggested their own. Fun times.

As such, I decided to do some minifics...some still several thousand words, but regardless, these are less fleshed out, more ideas, and swift endings. How a character could have gone, hitting one way, instead of the other. I hope you enjoy it, and sadly, yes, I must insist that Reading Null is required. I won't normally do that, but in this case, it is. I will try to list where the difference starts, but still, it is an effective story, and I enjoyed it...was inspired by it enough to make these, so take that as an endorsement.)

(Author's Note 2: Okay, I made a big wall of text in the first note, so I'm gonna post this here since I already got two reviews questioning it. Here's the Bullet Points for this story collection

1) These are not full stories, more snippets I'm doing in between writing a few other things, just simple ideas. Single Scene divergences where someone makes a new choice in Null, and changes everything.

2) This means these are fairly short and undetailed, as such, they're pretty much the scene following the change, or scenes if that change warrants it, and then the end. These are not really something that will make sense without reading Null first.

3) These are for fun/catharsis, something Null itself is lacking in, as it is a drama piece, with some excellent scenes in it, though not without its flaws.

4) I hope those who do read it, find it fun.)

(Takes place during Chapter 27, sometime around the word 'Leave, you've Lost.' Line from Raven herself)

Raven was scared. Her body moved, and she tried to keep away from him, but she was scared. This was an opponent she knew by reputation, by the kills he'd made. She should have been his better, in every way but one, and even that one was an advantage measured in the meters of his ability. If she stayed away, she should have been good enough. But she was a melee fighter, she had no range for her sword.

And he didn't need range. Yang was there, her body, injured. She'd taken an arm wound, but she was limping. Probably sprained something when her Aura had left her while trying to run or jump. Regardless, she was vulnerable, unable to run, and like any mother, Raven was scared for her child. She wanted to save her, wanted to protect her, despite everything that had come between them.

She tossed a box, sliced off a piece of the roof, tried to drop it on him, but Null was not going to be stopped. The box hit him, hit his aura, and bounced away. The roof, the small piece, he dodged, because she couldn't risk letting too much fall. She needed to end this, quickly, and so, against her better judgement, she charged in, a white blade seeming to appear out of nowhere behind her, clicking into place on her sword, as she surged.

She opened a portal, right next to him, as she threw another box. She knew his speed, Qrow's report had contained that at least, and so she appeared right behind him, and swung, either her blade, or the box, about fifteen pounds, would end him. She was a huntress, one of the best of her generation...no THE Best of her generation, this upstart, no matter what semblance he had, was nothing.

But then she swung, and stumbled forward, as her arm missed...not it didn't miss, the end of her arm was missing! From forearm to elbow, it was gone. For a moment, she panicked, tried to flee, but then she felt something else, a shattering, like a dust on her skin being blown away, the arm returning, as something happened, and the world seemed to 'break' around her. It took her too long to realize it was all an illusion, and then to feel the sharp pain in her side.

(Break)

Yang watched as her mother vanished, and then appeared right beside Jaune arc, and she felt...elated, for a moment. This was it, she was going to take him down, and then Yang could get up, rescue Ruby, and then...she was startled as her mother's arm vanished in mid swing, as it seemed to miss Jaune Arc completely, who was grinning at her, grinning in that way that spoke of an animal about to kill its prey.

Then her arm reappeared, Raven's skin seemed to shed something, while Jaune Arc fell into himself, breaking in the same way, as behind her mother, two figures emerged, Jaune...no Null, who was not smiling anymore. He wasn't anything, as her mother took a sword to the side, her body pierced through by the girl with the weird hair, the one she'd seen when they'd arrived.

She cried out, her voice cracking, as tears welled up in her eyes. Her mother, looking at her, tried to smile, but it was not to be, as the monster stabbed her again, and then again, and again, the girl literally tearing her mother apart in the same way Jaune had killed Penny, ripping pieces out of her after a while, as Null walked up to Yang, and he said something, her ears ringing as she ignored him.

Something about this was what it felt like to be helpless as your mother died. They hadn't known though. It hadn't been cruelty, it had been...whatever this was! Don't involve your parents in stuff like this! This was terrorism! This was war and battle and...she couldn't even finish that thought, as her mother gurgled out one last noise, before the girl was done, and she rose up, smiling and skipping to Null's side.

"Eye for an Eye, Mom for a Mom? Is that fair? I'm actually not sure anymore. But this world hasn't been fair to me, so now, it's not FAIR to you," before he spoke again, he whipped out his pistol, and shot Raven, the bullet destroying her brain, even though she'd already been dead by that point.

Yang screamed, she screamed and then she felt his boot smash into her face, and she knew nothing more

(Break)

Yang would wake up hours later, her body, sore, tired, her face hurt. Her arm hurt. Her soul was dead. Her mother was dead. She'd hated Raven. Hated her for leaving. Hated her for abandoning her family. She'd wanted answers, always believing, despite what Uncle Qrow said, despite what Dad said, that those answers would somehow justify it all, would somehow give her a reason to love her mother again.

And now she was dead. She'd come in to save her, to protect her, because she'd made a bad call. And she was dead because of Yang...because of Null! Yang growled, like a feral animal, like a horrible creature. Hate...she'd hated her mother, but now she'd given her life to protect her, and her murderer was still out there, loose in the city, and she was going to hunt him down and make him pay.

The doctors kept sedating her, for a long time, to try and calm her down. Ruby, sweet, innocent Ruby, had come to visit her, twice. She was being kept in the airship, where Ironwood was helping the team recover. Ruby was on crutches. Something about what Jaune had done to her, the impact with her head against one of the walls. She was having trouble with one of her legs, but it would go away, it had to.

But she was sorry...sorry that Null had killed Raven. She was also sorry...SORRY!? That Null's mother had died too. On her orders, she said. But Yang had told her to stow that crap. This was Null's fault, all the way. You didn't bring family into a combat situation. Didn't ever do that. She hadn't done that. Raven had shown up on her own, shown up to defend Yang, and for that action, Null had killed her.

So it was simple. She was going to kill Null. That was all there was to it. She was going to kill him. Feel his neck in her good hand, and wring it hard, until she felt each bit of it crunch in her grip. It was going to feel good. So good. Ruby had tried to talk her out of that action, tried to convince her she shouldn't do it, but Yang had simply stopped talking to her about it, especially when she could finally move again.

Bitch...Blake, she'd told her to not go after him again. Look at what he'd done to the whole team. Look what he'd done to Raven! Raven...Blake, according to Ruby, had arrived just a minute or so after Null had left. That had only made Yang hate her. Then she'd learned what Blake, what Bitch, had known about him, and she hated her more with every single word that had come out of her mouth.

If she'd had her weapons, if she'd had the strength. She'd have killed Bitch too. But she hadn't. She'd been in bed when she'd heard, and screamed until they'd had to sedate her. Ironwood had told her she shouldn't blame Bitch for what had happened. But Yang wasn't hearing any of it. She wasn't ever forgiving her, and when this was over, when Null was dead, she was off the team. Too many lies had been said by her mouth. Too many broken promises.

She was still angry with everyone, when it happened. Something was going on in the city, something at a hotel. Null. The doctors held her back from it, and she obeyed. Null was down there, but she wasn't strong enough, not yet, she'd have her chance. She wasn't the meathead everyone made her out to be. She knew how to wait for her prey to come to her, and so she'd obeyed, as Ruby had laid down in a stretcher for some white lab coat, to run more tests on her bum leg.

Then the excitement started. Bitch had gone to talk to the head doctor, to get an opinion on something to do with Ruby. She'd looked to Yang like she should feel grateful for Bitch's care, but Yang hadn't said a damn thing to her, as she left the sickboom or whatever it was you called it on a ship. Only she'd come back in with the head doc, and they'd been agitated, guards had flooded the room.

Ruby was gone! Her sister was gone! Bitch had let that fucking fake doctor take her. Oh she was going to kill her too. After Null. She'd need her info to kill him first, but Bitch was dead a minute later. It had taken them a while to figure out what had happened. Ruby wasn't paralyzed in one leg. She'd come up fine. That fucking head up their ass doctor had just not seen fit to tell anyone, in the three days they'd been recovering.

Dr. Snow, that was the name. They were on her list too. Null, Bitch, and Snatch. It would be a fun day. Then Ironwood had come. She'd wanted to be mad at him too, this was his ship. But he wasn't to blame. It was his ship, of about a thousand people. Snatch had seven patients, including Team RWBY, who the fuckwit doctor had failed to keep any kind of updates on in THREE DAYS they'd been here.

Ruby though, she'd been taken, taken by some stupid company, to bargin with Null or something. Why? She didn't care. She was going to go there, and kill everyone she could find. But then Bitch had said Null wanted that company dead, Bitch then revealed something, she could contact him, get a meeting. Oh Yang smiled, she licked her lips like the wolf who'd found a way to bring the lamb to them.

She'd let Bitch set it up, but while she was, Yang had gone on a bit of a shopping spree in the Armory of the battleship. Nothing obvious, nothing that would be noticed, at least not right now. A few pieces of ordinance that had laid stacked unevenly against a wall. It was more than enough for her purposes, as she used her knowledge to strip the stuff down, to slowly change it into little pouches that were already sewn into her jacket.

It bulged a little obviously in two spots, but looked more like she was padding her breasts. She'd then told Bitch she was ready for the meeting. Weiss-cream had wanted to come, but Yang put her foot down, hard. Weiss was not going and that was final. Ruby would wait, for a little while. Besides, Weiss had to be there for her, she needed someone who cared about her when this was over.

It had taken them over two hours, but they were soon sitting in that club, that same one she'd raided before going to Beacon. Funny that. It felt like this was where her life had begun. But she hadn't said anything, instead walking up the stairs, and then waiting, patiently, with Bitch in one of those private swanky rooms. It was nice, actually. She really wished she'd known this had been here. Would have been fun to smash it up back then.

Still, she'd acted all nice girl, even making conversation with Bitch, acting like the worried sister. But she knew what was coming. They had Ruby because of Null. Null goes away, Ruby goes free. That was what was going to happen. She was even smiling at times, which seemed to make Bitch think she was getting better. And she was, the moment Null turned on that fucking weird Semblance of his, this was over.

And the man of the hour arrived not...well actually almost an hour later. He made a show of threatening Bitch, but Yang interrupted, made him think she was here because she wanted her teammate safe, and then he'd done it. Those weird ass eyes, Yang felt her Aura go away, and she pushed a button, one on the inside of her jacket, and there was a sizzling noise, the smell of smoke, and then, nothing but light.

(Break)

Jaune got up from the rubble, his body covered in bruises, his nose stuffed with dust. This was an assassination attempt, pure and simple. Stupid bitch had thought he couldn't put Null out before she could blow him up. She was paste on the wall for that idea. Though Jaune was wounded, hard wounded. His body was sore all over, as he climbed out of the burning rubble, and spotted Blake doing the same.

She watched him walk over to her, claiming she hadn't known. And you know the weird thing? Jaune believed her. It wasn't in Blake to play the bait, she wouldn't have approved of this plan at all. She died really nice though. He'd made sure to shoot her in the legs first, watch her bleed into the rubble, tempting him to leave her there. A cat with crippled legs? Who'd want a stray like that. He did have some mercy though, and when she'd looked up at him, he'd put one between her eyes. She'd almost looked grateful for it.

The news blamed him for it, of course, but it had distracted everyone. They'd all been trying to figure out how he'd lured the two Huntresses to the bar, to rape them probably, according to the reports. Blake would have deserved it. Whatever, she was dead. The next day saw him, Adam, and a special ops team of White Fang…seriously, the White Fucking Fang had Black Ops Teams, and damn good ones.

Regardless, they'd gone to the place where Matthew Fields had set up shop. And they'd wrecked the place. It had been a battle and a half. Fields even had some kind of Multiple Semblance powers, and when they'd finally taken him down, thanks to Neo, he'd bragged about what was going to happen...then he'd noticed Jaune and half the team were wearing headsets, cameras on.

He'd spilled so many secrets during the fight, told them so many awful things, about what he'd done to Jaune, to the Ruby girl in the labs. Hell, he'd even bragged to the White Fang that he was going to neuter their kind. He was white and pale, and then tried to walk some of it back...gods how did an idiot like this end up in charge of a conspiracy like Chivalric Arms. Whatever, Jaune had nailed him between the eyes, just like Blake.

The next day, the world started burning. The Faunus, all of them, were in revolt, all over the planet. Menagerie was unlocking Auras, everyone's Auras. The other Kingdoms, who'd told them to never do that, who'd made treaties with each other to prevent it, were screaming, as they watched lines of Faunus get their powers unlocked, some of them claiming this would force the Kingdoms to respond in kind, that it would tear the world apart.

But Jaune, Jaune didn't care, not anymore. Ironwood had executed his sisters, the ones he'd had. He'd done it publicly. His eyes were steely and without remorse. Atlas was burning regardless, all the Dust Mines, all of them, had been collapsed. In every kingdom but Menagerie. So it was only a matter of time now. It would take them too long to open them back up, to find others, to replenish supplies.

Amber was freed a few hours into the chaos. Beacon, lovely Beacon, had about a ten percent Faunus population. Thing was, the humans were the top, but those Faunus, to get into that school? They were the very top, and when Ozpin and his little company had tried to force the Faunus students to stay? It hadn't ended well. He wondered, idly, if he should give the fox doctor lady a gift, given she had been such a big help.

She'd killed Ozpin himself, stabbed him in the back, made him cry about how close they'd been. But then he'd slumped over, and gurgled his last lie. The others, shocked by this, had then been forced to fight for their lives against their students. That rabbit Faunus with the weird camera power, that had been a sight to see, as she tore apart a whole team of young men, ripping them to shreds with their own weapons made of light.

In the end, however, Amber was found, the girl with her, well, he left her there. No idea why she was there, but he wasn't here to save her. He was here for his own. The world wanted her safe, let them save her. So he'd gone back to Menagerie, gone back to the one place he thought would be safe, as the world around him burned to ash, and plagues of darkness began to spread, like a raven's wings taking all into a cold, endless, night.
