hey guy, i'm back...i just want you guys to be the first to read this
it's "Supergirl: The Musical!" (Scenes and lyrics by me. Based (kind of) loosely off the PAD series. this scene is based off of issue #14.. i think... The opening number is appropiately titled "Tell them" )
k here's the brief note about the scene you're about to read: Linda's trying to explain to her parents that she's Supergirl. some inside jokes are in it.. brief comedy is sure to follow in the next scene that I type up.
Without further ado..
I present...
"Supergirl: The Musical!"
(Scene opens up to a split stage: Linda's house on the right, the Kent farm on the left.)
Linda: (To Fred/Dad and Sylvia/Mom. not singing yet) Mom. (beat) Dad. There's something that i have to tell you.
Dad: What is it?
Linda: (walks upstage facing the audience,singing) Something, i can't explain.
Mom: (sings softly after Linda, looking at her with worry in in her voice) What is it, please tell us.
Linda: (walks to the right of the stage in a 3/4 profile [so we can see her talks this time) (softly whispers) I'll try to do the best I can, (Singing to audience)
How can I tell them?
What should I say.
I'm afraid of of what they might think.
(gasps, talking to the audience)
Maybe they would want me to go see a shrink!
(She sighs,then continues singing)
Okay, might as well tell them
(the light fades in at the Kents house, Ma and Pa Kent are having Cheerios. They put down their spoons into their bowls.
Ma and Pa Kent: (Pa Kent singing in a baritone and Ma Kent harmonizing/chanting) Tell them! Tell them!
Linda: (sings, a little nervous) What am i supposed to say.
Pa Kent: (sings) Just Tell Them!
Ma Kent: (sings in a echo after Pa) Tell them!
Linda:(talks, annoyed) Fine. (To Mom and Dad) Mom. Dad i'm-
Mom: (Singing) Before you say it. I have some questions to unfurl (after a long pause) Are you gay?
Linda : (In a Shocked tone) No!
Mom: (sings) I mean, c'mon , we know you only went out with one guy (shows us the index finger to make a point)
Dad: (echos,mimicks Mom in a patomime, singing) One guy.
Linda: (Sings) I'm not Gay, I'm not a lesbian. I'm-I'm ( She sings it out)
I'm Supergirl.
Mom and Dad: (Scoff) Yeah right.
Linda: (sings) Okay,
If you don't believe me, Then you should have no doubt-
(She changes into Supergirl..somehow.on stage..maybe another actress can play her?) (Music crecendos,for a few minutes then stops abrubtly)
Dad: Get Out!
(Flutes fade in)
Linda:( As Supergirl,doesn't sing yet,but is shocked at the answer that her parents gave her, saying quietly) What?
Mom and Dad: (both yell) We said, GET OUT!
