I was standing between Alice and Edward, hoping for a chance to leave the room alive.
'I love you', 'you are my everything', 'mmm, actually you are not enough', and 'as you died, I will go to Volterra to die out of love for you'. Fucking Bastard.
Edward seemed to believe that we would be back together. That was not an option, so I turned around to see Alice evaluating my boots. She had a problem with priorities as the powerful vampires in front of us were deciding about our lives.
The brothers were deciding what to do about the human who knew too much about their world.
Aro walked slowly to my side. He was hot, stupid Bella! He was deciding if he was going to kill you or not, but he was so hot that I was staring at him dazzled!
"Dear one, can I have your hand please?" Aro asked softly but I could hear the order in his voice.
"No, why do you want to touch me?" I told him, not comfortable about having him so close. I heard growls and gasps around me. He was not used to somebody saying not to him.
"You will do as we tell you. You are only a bag of blood!" Caius yelled.
"SHUP UP CAIUS!". Aro yelled.
Edward, Alice, and the guards were terrified. I was glaring at him.
"Aro is the leader of the Volturi, you have to be more respectful," Edward told me, and I glared at him.
"Human, I am asking you to do something simple, just give me your hand," Aro said again.
"I will not do it just because you asked. How could I know if you are asking my hand to hurt me?" I answered.
"You will do it because I tell you and that's all. I'm the king of the Volturi, and you will do it," He snapped at me.
"Not fucking way, I will not do it!"
"Fuck! I just want to know if I can use my gift on you and read your thoughts. Just give me your fucking hand!" He yelled.
"Edward showed you that he cannot do it; it will be the same for you, but if your majesty wants to try, I will do it with pleasure."
He took my hands and closed his eyes. I gasped because his hand was freezing, he was colder than the Cullen.
"So?"
"It is the first time in more than 3000 years that I do not hear anything." Aro said.
"I told you so, but you did not listen. I'm not a freaking experiment that you can use at your will!"
"Why do you think that you can yell to me, stupid woman," He yelled.
"I will yell all I want, and if this bother, you can fucking kill me, and we will end with this shit".
"You will not talk to me like this. You are a human, a woman, a fucking teenager, and food, so shut up!" Aro said beyond furious now.
"Bella, love, I think you have to listen to me and stop talking. He is mad at you, and if you speak further, he will kill all the Cullen. Please, baby, be quiet." Edward said to me.
"YOU ARE NOT GOING TO TELL ME TO SHUT UP, THIS IS YOUR FUCKING FAULT!"
"WHO THE HELL SAID THAT YOU COULD GET INTO THIS CONVERSATION, YOUNG CULLEN!"
Edward took five steps back, dragging Alice with him. The guards were crouching in a defensive position.
"ENOUGH! Aro, what is going on with you? Isabella Swan, why are you yelling at him? You both look like five years old having a tantrum". Marcus yelled.
I crossed my arms, glaring at Aro. He was doing the same thing. Marcus and Caius came next to us, and they glared at us.
"Cullen, you are not able to control this human girl. She will stay with us until we can decide what to do with her. You will leave now, and we are going to send you weekly reports telling you about her progress. Also, I will call Carlisle myself to explain what happened. Now, leave. We have a lot of work with these two." Marcus said "Aro, go to the office now! We will go to see you there; we need to talk with you about his. Jane, take Isabela to a guest room in our wing. Isabella, I will come to your room later.
(Aro)
I was fuming, this human, this filthy human just yelled at me in the throne room. I killed vampires for just a glare. She humiliated me in front of the entire guard and my brothers.
To aggravate the situation, I was sent to the office to calm down, and my brothers would scold at me as if I was a child. I am the leader of this coven, the King of the Volturi, and nobody will talk to me like this.
"Aro, you embarrassed us in front of the entire guard and the Cullen. How do you dare to engage yourself like this with a human?" Caius told me, entering the room. "You are our leader, but today you show us that you cannot rule until you overcome this."
"What are you talking about, brother?" I asked, rinsing my eyes brows.
"You will go to our island, and you will try to reign yourself," Caius said.
"Hell will be fucking frost before I would do this! You cannot force me!" I yelled.
"Actually brother, we can. You are powerful, but we are two and we have the guard behind us. If you do not do this, we can persuade Jane to help us, or tell Alec to take you down. Do you want us to prepare your bags, or you want to pack by yourself?" Caius told me, enjoying this. Payback was a bitch, and he is having his sweet revenge after years on my shadows.
"Fine, I will go. When am I supposed to travel?"
"You are leaving tomorrow morning at six am. Alec et Demetri are coming with you." He spoke.
"Fine" Life sucks!
(Bella)
Jane dragged me along to a room.
"Isabella?"
"Bella, please."
"Bella, you are the craziest woman I ever saw. Nobody dares to say no to master Aro, nobody will yell at him or deny him something he wants. I have to say that I respect you." She spoke.
"What?" I asked.
"I never saw him like this before. Usually, if somebody denied him something, he will be so furious that this person is dead one minute later. He was fighting with you like you were his equal." Jane spoke.
Once I was in my room, she left to pick up some food for me. I took a shower, enjoying my clean skin and hair for the first time in three days. I found something to wear in the closet, I sat next to the table, waiting for my food, and some answers hopefully. Jane came with the food, and I realized that my last meal was more than 24 hours ago. She brought me a nice hamburger with French fries and a soda. It was perfect.
"Master Marcus will be here soon to tell their decision. I hope that they will change you; I would like to have you as my friend. Ok, have a good night."
Some minutes later, I heard a knock.
"Come in, please".
Marcus entered the room, and I stood bowing my head. I hoped that if my behavior were better than what was shown in the Throne room, maybe they would forgive me.
"Dear one, you don't need to do this. Take a seat and eat while we talk about our plan for you." Marcus said, smiling "I have to say that I am impressed by you. I never saw anybody, outside Caius and me, talking to Aro like this. The problem is that we can afford this situation in our coven."
"What can I do to show you that I would not do this again?"
"You will have to go to our private island to study our history and culture. I want you to do your best and follow your teacher's advice in your preparation for your next role in our coven."
"When I will be leaving for the island?"
"You will leave in one hour. Do not worry about anything, your teacher will give you anything you need. I hope to see you soon Isabella."
(Carlisle)
I love to seclude in my office. Nobody comes here without invitation, and I feel in peace without Edward's moodiness, Alice's incessant chat or Emmet's jokes. Sometimes, Esme would come, and we could have some time alone to talk about our sons and daughters. Over my desk, I have some pictures, which show the family at different times.
Now, Esme was sitting on my lap, playing with my hair, and talking about Edward's last trip to Brazil. He was tracking Vitoria, even when we all knew that he is a lousy tracker. When my phone rang, I saw that Marcus was calling me.
"Dear friend, how can I help you?" It was strange to have a call from him as usually Aro called,
"Old friend, I'm calling you with bad news. Yesterday, your son came to the palace; he wanted us to kill him."
"Did you kill him?"
"No, my friend. Aro told him that his gift was not to be wasted, and we told him to leave. Today he tried to expose himself and force us to kill him. His girlfriend and Alice came and prevented this to happen. Aro wanted to talk with them, so we asked the guards to bring them to the courtroom." Marcus said.
"And what happened?"
"Everything was fine until Aro wanted to read Isabella."
"What happened?"
"She did not want to give him her hand."
"And this was a problem? Aro is stronger, he could take her hand."
"The problem is, my friend, that they started to fight in the throne room like five years old. They were yelling at each other. This situation is complicated and has to be resolved." He spoke.
"What are you going to do about this?"
"Your kids are traveling home now. Isabella will go to our island to learn about the vampire's world and its laws."
"Is Aro ok with this? He is not going to try to hurt her?"
"Aro will not dare to do harm to her. He will be sent on an extended vacation tomorrow morning. They will be punished for the behavior in a very painful way."
"What are you going to do to my baby girl? Do you remember that she is a human?"
"Oh yes, the punishment will be hard because as I told you she has to learn about us, but her teacher is Aro. I'm sending Jane to control him, and as she cannot harm Bella."
"How much time she is going to be with him?"
"Probably till we are changing her. After she is turned, she will have to serve us fifty years, and she would have the choice to stay or go to your coven."
"Thank you, Marcus. I apologize for my children's behavior. I will talk with them as soon as they'd arrive at home."
"I will call you every week to give you some details. Have a good evening old friend."
"You too dear friend."
I asked Esme to leave me alone to think about this. I never saw Aro losing his temper like this. Even when he would be angry, he would smile or even laugh. Therefore, people were afraid of him; you could not know when he was going to punish you. Now, he just lost it with a teenager that happened to be my daughter. I missed her deeply and it was Edward's fault. We left her following his demands, but as she was his mate, we did not have a choice about this.
I hoped that during the time they would expend together, Aro would not kill her.
