Sonic, Dr. Eggman blew up Chris!
Author's Note: Another story I can't ignore, another writer's block hit, and this time it's based on the movie "Honey, I blew up the Kid", Sonic style. While the setting of this story is unknown, it can be set in either the main Sonic games or Sonic X anime, or a mixture of the two along with some of the other Sonic media, give or take.
Anywho, welcome to Sonic, Dr. Eggman blew up Chris!

Chapter 1: Just another day.
At a farm outside of Station Square in the fields, Sonic the Hedgehog, the young cobalt hero, was facing against Eggman who was in his Egg Mobile, grinning evilly. A large robot that looked like a giant metal chicken leered down at him, as Amy Rose and Chris Thorndyke stood behind them, having been caught up in this. The blue hedgehog knew that he had to protect his human friend who was already like another younger brother to him like Tails, and his self-proclaimed girlfriend who stood there, little scared.
The robot, named the E-88 Lightning Bird, then began charging while the young hero of Mobius stood his ground. But then suddenly it opened it's beak and there was a large flash of red light which forced Sonic and his friends to shield their eyes while crying out in alarm. By the time it faded, Sonic heard Amy's terrified scream and looked up as Chris saw what happened.
"Sonic, look!" The twelve year old boy exclaimed in horror, pointing up to which the blue hedgehog did, and gasped in horror, feeling his heart drop and stop as Amy, not standing with them, was now carried by the collar of her dress, held in the beak of the Lightning Bird.
"SONIC!" The pink hedgehog screamed out in terror.
"Bring her back!" Sonic demanded the evil scientist, furious over what happened and mentally hitting himself for not protecting his friend who was also very important to him despite her obsession over him.
"Oh ho ho ho ho! If you want her, come and get her!" Eggman challenged evilly. He didn't have any intentions on capturing or using Amy Rose, but kidnapping her was to make things much more impossible for Sonic since the blue hedgehog loved all of his friends so much.
Not wanting to be trapped like this or be useless, Amy desperately summoned her Piko Piko Hammer and began bashing at the robot's beak behind her. But this only resulted in her dress beginning to rip, and, frozen in fear as she suddenly realized that if she fell from this height, she could easily die upon impact.
"HELP!" She screamed, dropping her hammer, before angrily yelling at the Lightning Bird over her ruined outfit. "Hey, that's a brand new dress, buddy!"
"Amy! You just hang on tight!" Sonic called up to her, as he was preparing to save his special friend.
"Gotcha!" Eggman snarled, pushing a button as his Egg Mobile, which he began flying away, opened up a hatch underneath and revealed some sort of cannon laser. Before the blue hedgehog could react as he and Chris gasped in horror, it fired straight at them. Without much time, Sonic immediately pushed his human friend out of the way and just barely jumped back to avoid in getting vaporized.
But the impact of the explosion was enough to throw the cobalt Mobian back as he screamed before hitting the ground hard, squeezing his eyes shut as he heard Chris and Amy scream out his name in horror, and the evil madman laugh that annoying laugh of his.
"End of the line for you, Sonic!" The evil doctor declared, pushing the button again. "You're about to become a Roast-hog!"
"Only in your stupid fantasy!" Sonic shouted back angrily, looking over his shoulder with an angry glare. He was just about to get up and move quickly when the laser fired, and despite the sudden quick fear that he may not be able to make it in time, the fifteen year old made to get up.
"SONIC!" Amy screamed, tearfully as she saw what was about to happen, while ending being carried further away, about to pass over the Farmhouse by the Lightning Bird.
Chris was frozen in horror, unable to believe that his hedgehog friend, who had already began to become his best friend along with Tails, had saved him and was now about to be vaporized. Not wanting to lose him and not paying attention to his own life, the twelve year old boy dashed forward in a desperate attempt to save the blue hedgehog.
"Look out, Sonic!" Chris screamed, and just as Sonic looked at the sound of his voice, the teenager gasped in horror as his friend stood in front of him, arms spread out and much to the two Mobians' horror and Eggman's shock as the man hadn't expected this to happen, the boy took the hit and was engulfed by the laser, screaming in pain as he squeezed his eyes shut.
"CHRIS! NOOOOO!" Sonic screamed, devastated as he reached out for him, but it was too late. There was a small explosion which forced the teenager to shield his eyes. By the time it faded and smoke surrounded him, the blue hedgehog hesitantly looked up but couldn't see his friend. His heart sank, his legs felt weak, his chest burned and ached with tears stinging it, his lungs, his throat, and his eyes.
Amy gasped in horror, covering her mouth with her gloved hands, tears leaking and already falling before she began to cry for the sudden loss of the human boy they, Tails and Knuckles had just become good friends with in such a short time.
"No...NO!" Sonic shouted in dismay, falling onto his knees and began pounding the soft, grassy ground in supreme loss, frustration, anger, sorrow and guilt as his tears fell and dropped onto the grass blade like rain. "Eggman...! How...How could you? You killed my friend...!"
While the blue hedgehog could still at least save Amy, he had been unable to save Chris, who was now gone. How could Sonic fail so terribly to protect his friends? What was he going to say to his parents and his grandfather Chuck?
But then, everyone heard the winced moan in front of the blue hedgehog, causing Sonic to look up and, as the smoke had cleared, his emerald eyes widened in shock and no small amount of relief as, to his, Eggman and Amy's shock as the latter looked down to see, there in front with his arms shielding his eyes was Chris, surprisingly alive and well on his knees, but not even a single burn mark. Just a bit of blue electricity sparkling a little bit like he'd been in an electric socket.
"C-Chris?" Sonic whispered, unable to belief what he was seeing and thought for a moment that he was hallucinating.
Chris, feeling a bit stiff and like lightning has struck him but otherwise fine, realized that he was okay and blinked in confusion, opening his eyes and looked at his hands in disbelief. "Huh? I'm okay?"
Sonic, realizing that this was real, beamed with joy with his tears matching his current emotion. "Chris! You're okay! You're alive!"
The blue hedgehog wrapped his arms around the boy behind him, hugging him in a huge sense of relief and happiness. Startled at first, Chris laughed along with him happily as the two friends embraced.
"Oh, thank goodness!" Amy exclaimed happily, feeling the same feelings as her 'boyfriend' and human friend despite that she was still in the robot's clutches.
"What in the!? How can that brat still be alive and in one piece!?" Eggman exclaimed, shocked at the boy's survival and frustrated that Chris had risked his life to save Sonic's. He gazed at his cannon and growled, pounding the dashboard in another tantrum, "Lousy piece of malfunctioning rusty cannon!"
Hearing the evil man's voice and looking up, Sonic and Chris both flinched as they realized that they'd forgotten about Eggman who still had Amy captured. Knowing what to do, telling his human friend to stay while deciding to scold him later for almost getting killed, Sonic sped up and immediately went for his Homing Attack, rolling upward and smashing into the robot which broke and shattered. This caused it to release the pink hedgehog who began to fall.
'Oh no...' Eggman thought to himself as he knew what was coming up next. He flinched in fear as he saw the beyond angry teenage hero glare up at his direction since he had kidnapped his self-proclaimed girlfriend and in his attempts to kill the blue hedgehog, almost killed the twelve year old boy instead.
As predicted, a furious Sonic the Hedgehog leaped up to the Egg Mobile and with an angry glare, he shouted, "This is for kiddnaping Amy and almost killing Chris!"
With a powerful kick that seemed to have become stronger due to the fury Sonic was feeling, Eggman was sent flying away as the madman screamed while vanishing into the sky. The blue hedgehog then fell with his arms stretched out to catch Amy who screamed as she descended towards the ground. She soon stopped as Sonic wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
"Don't worry, Amy. I gotcha." He reassured with a smile.
"You're my hero." The twelve year old pink hedgehog beamed happily, with a blush on her muzzle, and her jade green eyes twinkling like stars at the man of her dreams.
The two young Mobians fell and luckily despite Chris's worries, they landed safely in a large pile of Hay. The twelve year old boy, standing up, sighed in huge relief. He raced over just as Sonic and Amy emerged, before joining them as, despite the blue hedgehog intended on chastising his human friend for putting his life in danger, they happily embraced in a group hug while laughing.
All in all, it was another successful heroic day.
A little while later, after Sonic gave Chris a bit of a Sonic-Lecture, in the end if it hadn't been for him, the blue hedgehog would've been toast by now and he knew it, the two of them and Amy relaxed by sitting, or in the fifteen year old's case, laying in the pile of hay, gazing at the clear blue sky, watching the white clouds drift by and the gentle breeze blowing some of the hay into the wind.
"Isn't this just beautiful? I wish we could stay here for days and just listen to the wind." Amy said, before blushing as she clasped her hands together. "Oh, Sonic. Wouldn't that be...romantic?"
Sonic, having been content until his self-proclaimed said the romantic part, rolled his eyes in exasperation with a soft groan. She never really gives up on her dream to one day marry him. Still, he wasn't about to hurt her feelings since it was a nice day.
So instead, he opted to reply. "It is a really nice place. Dont'cha think?"
Rather than getting a response, Chris then began to moan which caught the two hedgehogs' attentino and when they turned to look at the twelve year old boy, to their great concern, he was lying down with his hand on his head, and another around his waist.
"Chris? What's wrong?" Sonic asked worriedly, sitting up.
"...Ugh...I feel kinda woozy and dizzy." Chris replied, as his head swam and felt like he was about to pass out.
That set alarm bells in the blue hedgehog's mind as he and the pink hedgehog to his right shared a worried glance, with Amy beginning to feel a twinge of guilt, while Sonic, remembering how the laser almost killed Chris, felt twice as guilty and knew immediately that this wasn't something to simply brush off.
"Maybe it's because I'm feeling hungry and I haven't eaten all day." The pre-teen quickly added, noticing the guilty and worried looks on his friends' faces, yet his words did little to ease their nervous systems.
"Let's get you home, buddy. I'm not sure if it's what Eggman's laser thing made to do, but I'm not gonna take any chances. If Tails and Chuck don't see what the problem is, then we're gonna get you off to the hospital, just in case." Sonic said seriously.
That made Chris panic. "Ah! S-Sonic, we can't let Grandpa know about the laser! If he and Mom, Dad, Ella, and Tanaka find out, we're toast!"
"Well, we have to tell them something without getting superstitious." The blue hedgehog pointed out.
"Sonic's right, mister. If food doesn't solve the problem, then we'll tell them what happened." Amy added sternly.
"And if gets any worse and if the hospital can't help, I'll drag in Eggman with a few half-harmless threats. It's his fault that he almost killed you while trying to get rid of me." Sonic continued, before adding while softening his expression. "And if it makes ya feel any better, me, Ames and Tails will spend the night with you. Sound good?"
"Yeah, we can have a sleep over!" The twelve year old hedgehog girl added, her eyes glittering in excitement.
Seeing how he wasn't going to get out of this, plus the idea of having his Mobian friends over made him excited since it was luckily Spring Break, Chris hesitantly nodded with a defeated sigh. "Okay. You guys win."
"All right. Let's head off home. I'll call Tails to pick us up." Sonic declared, relieved as he called his two-tailed little fox brother on his communicator watch.
Yet all three of them were unaware that it gave out a bit of a spark, as did Chris's body, but as soon as the blue hedgehog finished with the call, the electricity faded as soon as it appeared.
A/N: I have no idea why this idea came up, but I've been struggling to update my other stories, being stuck on chapter 9 of Sonic in Between, but I will try to continue them as soon as possible. This story has no relations to my other Sonic fanfics.
