READING THE FOX SCROLL was taken down on June 24/2021(Thursday). I added a link to its new home on my wattpadd. I used the original docs (hence the Ans) but the format is a bit different due to the different site.
AN1: Sorry for the month wait on any pf my stories… In know 2 months for this story… Honestly, I am kinda getting bogged down with this arc so I might try to rush to finish this ASAP. The chapters afterward with Wendy settling in should be a lot more fun and enjoyable. Yes I am fully aware Naruto 'took over' the arc (ignoring he was absent for the entire Tower of Heaven arc) but people do realize Naruto is the MAIN CHARACTER of this story right?
I will admit this chapter is abit rusty and not one of my greatest….

Chapter 44 Healing Magic Awakened
After defeating and sealing away Angel Naruto sighed as he walked towards the cliff where Hoteye struggled to get up.
"Don't think I forgot about you. I can't just let you get up and attack my friends again." Naruto told the Earth Mage drily as Hoteye head dropped as he just let his body slump against the cliff.
"Uh..." Hoteye grunted as he looked up at Naruto who surprisingly gave him a look of pity rather then anger.
"What's with that look? Are you so above me you can't help but pity me?" Hoteye demanded hotly as he slammed a fist at the ground in frustration.
"Why?" Naruto asked for a moment as he sat down so he could look Hoteye in the face.
"Why what?" Hoteye grunted as Naruto studied him with calm expression.
"Why are you so obsessed with money? Money doesn't give people happiness." Naruto asked as Hoteye glared up at him.
"Money is the only thing in this world that has any real value!" Hoteye retorted as Naruto shook his head.
"Money helps you get things but its not the thing that makes us happy." Naruto remarked before his expression grew serious.
"Is there really nothing or nobody you care about more then simple money? No family you care about?" Naruto asked as Hoteye expression grew wide.
"Family…." Hoteye whispered as his brother face appeared in his head.
'Wally…' Hoteye thought as a simple memory of them in his childhood appeared in his mind.
"That's right…. All I ever wanted was to find him and that is why I wanted to collect all the money in the world so I could find him." Hoteye said sadly as Naruto tilted his head.
"Him? You are looking for someone?" Naruto asked as Hoteye nodded.
"Yeah…. My little brother Wally. We were separated but in my heart, I know he's out there." Hoteye told him gently before he gasped.
'Something changed!' Naruto thought as he felt magic flare up before he heard sobbing.
"Are you okay?" Naruto asked awkwardly to Hoteye who was crying tears of joy.
Before Naruto was grabbed and pulled into a bear hug.
"I am more then fine! I am full of love once again!" Hoteye announced as Naruto patted him on the back as Hoteye continued to cry.
"Uh huh." Naruto said with a hint of confusion before Hoteye chuckled and let Naruto down.
"This new aspect on life was all due to Nirvana! It allowed me to see what really matters in life is not money! Its love!" Hoteye announced as Naruto gave him a thoughtful look.
"I see. You were on the edge of changing your dark nature and Nirvana pushed you back to your positive good self." Naruto noted as Hoteye nodded.
"Yes. I remembered my dear brother Wally and wanting to find him is why I wanted to get all the money in the whole world. It was my prayer." Hoteye explained with a bright smile.
"I see. What shall I call you then? Hoteye was a criminal but it seems you are back to your true self." Naruto asked as Hoteye beamed at him.
"Oh, my friend! It's been so long since anyone has asked me my name! We must celebrate!" Hoteye claimed as Naruto sweatdropped.
"Maybe later." Naruto said as Hoteye chuckled.
"Richard. Naruto Uzumaki." Richard greeted as Naruto nodded.
Richard looked guilty when Naruto gently picked up Wendy back in his arms who was still unconscious.
"The young Dragon Slayer. I am sorry we used her like that." Richard apologized as he looked at the young girl with anguish.
"You guys used Wendy-chan magic power to revive Jellal right? He must have been near death from the events of the Tower of Heaven and only Sky Dragon Slayer magic could have revived him." Naruto remarked as he looked briefly at his pocket.
"Very good. You are correct. Eric needed Jellal to be awake to read his mind and learn where Nirvana was hidden." Richard explained as Naruto nodded.
'Eric must be Cobra's real name. Makes sense as Hearing Magic can only work if the person is thinking and cannot work on someone in a coma.' Naruto thought.
'Someone manipulated Jellal to make the Tower of Heaven and then the Orecian Seis used the nearly dead Jellal to find Nirvana. It almost feels like someone else is pulling the strings around here.' Naruto thought before he looked back at Richard.
"I am guessing after Cobra listened to Jellal's thought Brain stabbed him and left him and Wendy-chan for dead?" Naruto asked as Richard nodded.
"Yes. Jellal is strong. He might be a hindrance even in this weakened state so Brain took no chances with him crossing us." Richard acknowledged before he clenched his hands.
"We did terrible things for the sake of power when love is the only thing that really matters." Hoteye said rather sadly.
Naruto smiled at him as Hoteye glanced at where the light of Nirvana got brighter.
"There is something you want to do right?" Naruto asked him as Richard nodded his head sombrely.
"I let my greed and lust for money blind me for so long. Brain took advantage of that to recruit me and use me for countless evil. The only one I can repent is to take him down myself." Richard sighed as he gave Naruto a serious look.
Naruto turned away and glanced over with a neutral expression.
"If you feel that way, I will let you settle things yourself. I need to check on my friends anyways." Naruto told him as Richard bowed.
"Thank you, Naruto. You are truly kind. You have a power to change people that is stronger than any magic." Richard remarked as Naruto smiled unseen to him. AN2:
"Change people huh? I guess so." Naruto mused as he heard Richard leap away before he saw a glimmer on the ground.
'Right Angel's Golden keys. I think its safe to say she doesn't deserve them at this point anymore.' Naruto thought as he carefully shifted Wendy in his arms so she could rest against his shoulder while he had his right arm free. He flicked his wrist as a small breeze of Sky Devil slayer magic picked up the keys and lifted them into his hand.
"Hey. I know didn't choose Angel as your wielder and what I understand when the Celestial Spirt Magic user goes to jail the contract is void correct?" Naruto asked.
The keys glowed for a second as if confirming his statement. Naruto nodded.
"I am going to bring you both to someone I know who loves her spirit as if they are her own family. I am sure you will love being her partner but I will let you decide if you want to make contracts on your own." Naruto told the keys gently. Aries key flickered several times as if showing happiness.
"Hmm? What's this?" Naruto asked as Gemini's keys glowed for a solid minute before flickering and turning off.
"I see. That's how it is huh. I will keep it in mind. Thanks." Naruto told Gemini's key before he put them both into one of his pockets. AN3:
'I sense both high magic powers near Nirvana. Must be Cobra and Brain. From what I heard someone must be controlling Nirvana at all times or the magic will go out of control so at worst Richard will have to face one of them at a time.' Naruto thought as he picked up Wendy bridal style once again.
"Now Wendy-chan. With you in this state I just can't give you magic power especially since my Sky Dragon Slayer magic healing aspect is pretty touch and go right now." Naruto told her sadly as Wendy continued to sleep in his arms peacefully.
"But since we are both Sky Dragon slayers there is something, I can do for you right now." Naruto told her warmly. AN4:
Back with the group inside Naruto's barrier
"Okay what is going on here! I am so sick of being here! Let me out so I can kick some ass!" Natsu shouted as he banged his hands against the barrier uselessly.
"Chill out. Your other is handling things, right?" Gray asked the 'Thought projection' of Naruto calmly.
'Naruto took a moment as he gazed out before nodding.
"Yeah. My original is heading this way. I can feel Wendy-chan with him." 'Naruto' commented as everyone eyes widened.
"He has Wendy?!" Carla screamed as 'Naruto' nodded.
"That is wonderful news! This Wendy-san can heal people's injuries, correct?" Jura asked as Carla frowned.
"Her Sky Dragon Slayer magic takes a lot out of her. She can't heal multiple people in a single day without taking risks to her own health and safety." Carla informed them with annoyance clear in her voice.
"This crazy group of mischiefs cannot seriously believe they can hurt themselves as much as they want and Wendy will heal them every time?" Carla whispered to herself furiously.
'If only you knew she is not the only Sky Dragon Slayer.' 'Naruto' thought with amusement.
"Hey guys! Sorry to keep you waiting." Naruto said cheerfully as him and Wendy stepped through the barrier.
Naruto shadow clone nodded to Naruto before disappearing in a puff of smoke.
"Naruto! You're back!" Lucy cheered in happiness and relief as Naruto sent her a grin in response.
"Yeah sorry about the barrier but it really was the better option to not have you guys go in all half cocked and injured." Naruto said with a guilty expression.
Wendy was hiding behind Naruto but looked up at her sensei with a small smile.
'He really does feel responsible for everyone.' Wendy thought happily although her face turned red for a moment.
'He even revived me using THAT method! I mean was so unexpected! Its not like I liked or anything!' Wendy thought in a somewhat ditzy manner in her head.
Everyone looked away remembering their chat with Naruto's clone and how it revealed how much Naruto blamed himself for trying to keep them safe.
"Don't worry about that. I can understand why you did it and we don't hold it against you." Erza said gently before turning behind her with a glare at Lyon and Natsu who flinched and nodded rapidly.
"How goes the hunt for the Orecian Seis Naruto-dono?" Jura asked seriously as Naruto nodded.
"I have defeated and sealed away three members already. The last 3 are all converging on where Nirvana is." Naruto informed them much to everyone surprise.
'This guy might actually be stronger than Jura! All of us together couldn't defeat even one member of the Orecian Seis while he took down three of them by himself!' Lyon thought incredulously.AN5:
'He doesn't appear be winded or injured at all.' Sherry thought as Naruto crossed his arms.
"Man! Talk about taking all the action Naruto!" Natsu whined as Lucy sighed.
Naruto smiled before he gestured to Wendy who flinched before hesitantly waved.
"Plus I brought back out local healer Wendy-chan!" Naruto announced as Carla flew around and hovered over Wendy.
"Child! You had me so frightened!" Carla told Wendy worriedly as Wendy sent her a small reassuring smile.
"Its okay Carla. Naruto-Sensei rescued me after all." Wendy said with a bright smile with none of her usual confidence issue as she looked up at the elder Sky Dragon slayer who grinned back at her.
"Sensei?!" Lucy shouted as everyone was surprised as Naruto rubbed his head.
"I didn't tell you guys? Woops! My bad!" Naruto chuckled before he patted Wendy on the head much to Carla ire as she crossed her arms.
"Wendy-chan was one of my students for my teaching job and let me tell you she sure shocked me! I mean her potential is off the charts!" Naruto praised as Wendy blushed and looked at her feet as kicked her feet softly against the ground.
"Sensei! You praise me too much! I mean its because of your teachings I am here after all." Wendy told him as Naruto chuckled and shrugged his shoulders.
"Hey. There is only so much a teacher can do. The student is the one who succeeds after all." Naruto remarked as Wendy smiled as she sent a very minor amount of Sky Dragon magic at his face which made his spikey hair flutter much to his amusement.
'Wooh. Naruto seems different when it comes to Wendy-chan…. Its almost a certain familiarity he doesn't show the guild? Maybe it's a teacher/student thing?' Lucy thought with wonder.
'It almost seems like Naruto taught her magic but it appears Wendy only has Sky Dragon slayer magic… Could it be?' Erza thought as her eyes narrowed ever so slightly.
"Hey Wendy!" Natsu shouted loudly as Wendy eeped and leapt in surprise.
"Hai? What's wrong Natsu-san?" Wendy asked nervously as Natsu started to walk abit to close for Carla and Naruto's comfort.
"Do you know where Ign~~" Natsu was about to ask before he was bumped in the head by an irate Erza.
"This is not the time!" Erza hissed as Natsu whimpered when she glared at him.
Everyone attention was drawn when Jura started to cough.
"As exciting as this is maybe we should discuss what to do know that Wendy-san has returned?" Jura suggested as people nodded.
"Its true. Wendy can heal both physical wounds and exhaustion, correct?" Erza asked as Wendy nodded.
"Hai! Sky Dragon magic is said to be able heal damage even from dragons but it doesn't work on the user themselves." Wendy admitted as she sighed before nodding.
"Now the issue is who should be healed first?" Gray noted as they looked at each over.
"It appears none of you are badly injured or critical condition right now." Wendy noticed as she glanced them over and saw some bruises but no bleeding wounds.
"Its true. Especially since Naruto already healed Erza-san's poison so we are all just not at full magic power." Lucy added as Wendy looked at Naruto with a curious expression.
"Healed?" Wendy asked as Naruto patted his head nervously.
"Not really healing. More of taking the poison inside myself and dispelling it." Naruto clarified as he almost wilted at Wendy deep stare before she nodded.
'Man as much fun of being her sensei is being her student or at least junior in Sky Dragon magic is abit much.' Naruto thought with irony.
"I must thank you again Naruto." Erza said warmly as she glanced at her arm which was no longer contaminated with poison.
Naruto waved her off before he gasped.
"What's wrong man?" Ichiya piped almost as if to remind people he was actually there.
"There is somebody who does need Sky Dragon healing right away." Naruto said urgently as he pulled out the scroll and quickly made a one-handed hand sign as a puff of smoke appeared onto the floor.
"That smell... Its cant be!" Natsu growled as he glared at the smoke.
After a few moments Jellal appeared unconscious and although not bleeding at the moment there was dried blood near a hole in his chest.
"Jellal!" Natsu screamed as he seemed to ignore the state Jellal was in and only focused on the enemy he fought not too long ago.
"Jellal?!" Erza said with pure shock on her face at her childhood friend/enemy was just lying there looking near death.
Natsu growled and despite not being able to use magic since they were still in Naruto Runes he still leapt forward with his fist posed to strike down Jellal.
"Natsu wait!" Lucy shouted.
"Hold on a moment!" Gray added but to no avail.
However, Naruto was not having it. Naruto pointed a finger at Natsu and flicked her finger. A burst of Sky Devil magic came and pushed Natsu back. The wind did not damage Natsu but was enough to punch him back so Erza could hold him back with one hand.
"Let me go! He is the bastard that made Erza cry!" Natsu shouted as Erza eyes darkened but she shook her head.
"Enough! He is no condition to fight back and I am sure Naruto has a good reason for brining him here." Erza retorted sharply as Natsu calmed down when he noticed the hole in Jellal chest.
"That's a serious wound. Did you cause this?" Hibiki asked hesitantly but Naruto shook his head.
"No, it wasn't me. Jellal was brought in a near coma by the Orecian Seis and healed by Wendy-chan. He was brought back so the leader Brain could learn Nirvana true location but then Brain stabbed him and left him for dead. That way Jellal could not possibly betray the Orecian Seis after waking up." Naruto informed them grimly.
"Jellal." Wendy whispered as she glanced at the man, she thought helped her out as a child.
"Jellal." Erza said painfully as Lucy gave her a look of sympathy.
'This must be so tough for her. She probably thought he died after falling rom that tower but to learn he was brought back just to be tossed out like garbage. She must be so confused right now. Bad guy or not he was her childhood friend before.
Even Natsu who hated Jellal could not help but wince at Jellal story.
"Mt Healing Perfume won't be able to help with that." Ichiya added grimly as Naruto glanced at Wendy.
"Oh no! You better not suggest that Wendy heal this man again?!" Carla hissed as Wendy looked up at Carla.
"Carla…." Wendy said sadly.
"Listen here! A wound that deep would take almost all your magic power to heal and even then he might not make it! Its not worth the risk!" Carla shouted angrily as Wendy frowned but could not dispute her words.
'Despite that I have to do something!' Wendy thought before she blinked when she felt Naruto pat her on the head.
"She's right. That is why I will be the one to heal Jellal!" Naruto declared as everyone was silent for a few seconds.
"WHAT?!" Everyone besides Wendy and Naruto shouted at the same time.
"Sensei you can't! Your Sky Dragon Slayer magic can't heal wounds like this without practice!" Wendy chided.
"Sky Dragon Slayer magic?! You have it too?!" Gray asked as Erza and Lucy looked equally shocked while Natsu seemed grumpy.
"Yeah? I mean I have NEVER said I didn't have Sky Dragon magic after all." Naruto pointed out blankly.
'Is this the magic he called cursed before?' Lucy thought to herself.
"Well, that's true but you never told you could do it either." Gray pointed out as Erza nodded.
"Cheater! You have two different types of Dragon Slayer magic and you didn't tell me!" Natsu pouted as everyone ignored the irate pink haired man.
"I never used it before in front of you guys as its not 100% functional right now." Naruto admitted as Wendy frowned at him.
"Sensei if you go at this not 100% ready you could easily make his wound worst not better." Wendy warned him before Naruto smiled.
"That is why I have you Wendy-Sensei. You will be my guide and help me focus the magic correctly." Naruto told her confidently as she blushed and blinked.
"Sensei?!" Wendy squeaked at the new form of endearment for her name.
Naruto smiled placed a hand on her shoulder.
"This time I am putting my trust in you Wendy. You will be the teacher. You can do this. I believe in you." Naruto told her as Wendy eyes watered but she didn't cry.
"Sensei…" Wendy said quietly touched her sensei believed in her so much.
"Alright. We can do this together!" Wendy declared as Naruto beamed at her as he placed his hands over Jellal wound.
"I will use my own Sky Dragon magic to guide your magic and tell it if you need to change the frequency, timing, duration of the healing and where to patch up the damaged cells first." Wendy told Naruto calmly without a hint of her nervousness as she placed her hands over Naruto's.
"Will this really work? It seems like a long shot if this is Naruto's first-time healing anyone." Lyon pointed out uncertain. He could not say he cared a lot if Jellal got healed or not but he was concerned if Naruto healing went haywire.
Jura smiled as he saw the determined looks on Naruto's and Wendy's face.
"If anyone can do it, it will be those two." Jura stated as remembered his disbelief at a 13-year boy defeating both him and Jellal 6 years ago.
"You can do this." Erza said quietly as Gray smiled.
Naruto's hand turned blue to show he activated Sky Dragon magic while Wendy hands also turned blue to show her activation of Sky Dragon magic.
For several minutes Wendy hands seemed to have steady flow of Sky Dragon magic while Naruto's hands appeared to flicker and get brighter at intervals as both Student and Master eyes were closed. They almost appeared to have a conversation to themselves as both their faces were deep in concentration.
"That's it. That the ratio you need." Wendy informed him finally as she opened her eyes.
"I see. So, this is how you do it. I got this this now." Naruto said as he opened his eyes and looked at Wendy with confidence.
Wendy nodded as she released her hands so only Naruto's hands were on the wound now. Naruto had a look of determination as his hands glowed a more solid and brighter form of blue as he focused on Jellal's wound.
Within seconds the dried-up blood disappeared from around the wound as Naruto started to heal Jellal in earnest. Soon small sounds of hissing and smoke appeared as the damaged cells start to heal rapidly and new cells were being formed.
"Amazing. So, this the healing power of Sky Dragon magic." Lucy said out loud in wonderment.
'That's outstanding! He is able to heal almost as quickly as Wendy can at full power and this is only his first time?! Even with guidance it should not be this powerful! What kind of guy is this?!' Carla thought with sheer amazement. AN6:
'Naruto-Sensei has true talent in Sky Dragon magic. He has a lot more magic than I do so he will be able to heal more people than me and not pass out. I am so happy now there is someone else out there who can ease people's pain.' Wendy thought happily.
Soon Naruto gasped as he pulled his hands away revealing Jellal wound was now gone with new skin covering the hole.
"There he is out of critical condition but he still shouldn't fight any time soon. Soon my sleeping magic will keep him stable while his body heals the rest of the way naturally." Naruto remarked as he gave a bow to Wendy.
"Thank you, Wendy-sensei for the lesson." Naruto said respectfully.
"That's okay. I mean I just gave you some tips and all." Wendy sputtered not used to the roles being reversed now as Naruto grinned at her.
"Sheesh. Now our guild has a real healer. Maybe that means we can do more fights and not worry about broken bones." Gray joked as Natsu had a gleam in his eyes.
"That certainly will not happen." Erza said sternly.
"That was truly magnificent. Man!" Ichiya noted as his lackeys nodded dumbly.
Everyone looked up as they saw the dark and light-coloured lights from Nirvana glow bright for a moment before disappearing as creaking about be heard.
"Oh no. That means Nirvana has reached its final stage as a weapon now." Hibiki noted with terror.
'The super massive magic power just tanked. This must be Brain's magic power. So now that is 4 down.' Naruto thought as he sensed a massive drop of magic power near Nirvana.
AN2: Yeah it's the 'talk no Jutsu' that people famously attribute to canon Naruto.
AN3: This might come back later in the future.
AN4: I will reference what actually happened later on as a joke but I am sure its fairly implicit (no its not something NSFW or anything)
AN5: Remember Lyon is abit cocky and he believes his guild is the strongest and the fact Jura is a registered Wizard Saint while Naruto isn't makes him abit biased against Naruto.
AN6: Wendy is still better at Sky Dragon Slayer magic then Naruto is but he is comparable. Remember Naruto can heal Wendy too (as Sky Dragons can heal other Sky Dragons just not themselves). He didn't restore her magic using this method though. (He found an 'unique' method).
