Author's Note: Here it is! The last chapter of Sonic, Dr. Eggman blew up Chris! Sorry for the long wait, but it's finally here! Here we go!

Final Chapter: Back to Normal.
It didn't take long for Chris and the X Tornado to finally leave the city and to the larger parts of the beach...uh, or at least it was large to everybody in the plane as well as Sonic and Eggman. To the giant twelve year old boy, it was really small considering and each step the now 130 feet tall human child made, the ground shook and once he reached the beach, he made enormous foot prints that looked like giant craters as though meteorites hit.
"Just be careful you don't accidentally step one anybody, big guy!" Sonic called up to his giant friend, having to shout since he had a feeling Chris wouldn't be able to hear him if he spoke normally. "We don't want anyone to get hurt!"
"EASIER SAID THAN DONE, SONIC. BEING A GIANT IS TOUGH." The twelve year old giant boy replied nervously, as softly as he could while watching his step, winching as the beach goers who didn't listen to the evacuation orders couldn't believe their eyes and were running away in fright and terror. "THIS IS WORSE THAN THE MONSTER MOVIES."
"At least you're not terrorizing anybody. Before you know it, you'll be a big hero!" The blue hedgehog jokingly reassured, which made his friend chuckle even though the teenage Mobian winched and covered his ears to avoid in going deaf, considering he was right next to the kid's huge head.
"YEAH, THAT'S TRUE." Chris agreed, as he made it to the right spot and stopped, knowing that this was as good of a place as any to throw the giant ship over to the sea so the hero of Mobius can use his power to destroy it.
"Get serious, guys!" Tails called from the X Tornado, as he and Amy were a bit annoyed with Sonic and Chris' time of jokes. "Chris is at risk of growing bigger as long as he's near the city and holding the Egg Fortress in his hands!"
"Okay, okay! We're on it!" Sonic called out impatiently, as he stood ready to take a leap from Chris' shoulder and onto the plane as it flew back. "Here we go!"
"Are you sure you can handle it, hedgehog?" Eggman questioned skeptically, still trapped within the clutches of the giant twelve year old boy two of his stupid robotic creations grew. "Even one ring can't stop my latest creation."
The blue hedgehog gazed down at his nemesis with a smirk. "You wanna bet, Egg-Brain?"
Chris in the meantime grinned while tightening his grip slightly on the evil scientist who yelped, before the giant boy teasingly said evilly. "I COULD ALWAYS DROP YOU INTO THE OCEAN IF YOU WANT, IF YOU DON'T RETURN ME BACK TO NORMAL."
Getting the message, Eggman gulped nervously and shook his head while deciding to keep his mouth shut, shaking in fear as he didn't want to end up drowning, or else, end up being the 130 foot tall boy's plaything for the rest of his life. Satisfied with the silence, Sonic and Chris both shared a nod with each other, yet as the latter did he saw just how tiny the former looked now and once again began to feel the great power of being able to protect him and the city and it wasn't for the fact that he was holding the mad doctor and the large Egg Fortress in both hands, the giant boy would've picked up the blue hedgehog and held him as long as he wanted, before realizing the trance was coming back and shook his head.
"Chris? Are you okay?" Sonic asked, as he noticed what happened and instantly felt the terror of the trance actually coming back to possess his friend. 'Please don't end up wanting to stay like this again...'
"SORRY, SONIC. JUST GOT LOST FOR A MOMENT THERE." The giant boy said nervously, still trying to shake away the desires and trances of wanting to stay this way and keep Sonic for himself. It was wrong, and he really wanted to return to normal, but to his horror, the desire to go back to his old life was starting to fade. They had to hurry and fast.
Once the X Tornado flew in closer, Sonic used this opportunity to leap from the giant boy's shoulder and landed on top of his head before taking a great big leap and landed onto the nose of the plane which Tails controlled it to fly away into a safe distance so that Chris wouldn't accidentally hit any of his friends.
"Ready, Chris?" Sonic called to his giant friend who nodded, before the blue hedgehog turned to Tails with a smirk and a thumbs up. "Ring me, buddy! Double time!"
"Right, Sonic!" His best friend/little brother gave him a thumbs up.
Grinning, the blue hedgehog then called out to the giant human boy. "Okay, Chris! Toss away!"
Nodding, Chris then stood ready as he attempted to make a good throw as hard and far towards the ocean as he could. "READY WHEN YOU ARE, SONIC!"
Sonic stood ready himself, holding out his hands downward with a look of determination as two rings were shot out from the plane and he grabbed them once they flew into his palms. The teenage hero felt the double increase of power and clutched the items tightly while crossing his arms in front of him and a mystified blue and qhite aura shone on his body. Even his eyes glowed a little.
Chris narrowed his eyes before he drew back his right arm as far as it could and with a loud yell and a mighty throw, he tossed the Egg Fortress really far across the sea, far away from Station Square while Eggman watched in dismay.
"Hang on! Here we go!" Tails announced as he flew the X Tornado in high speed after the fortress. It was surprisingly a very good throw and everyone was quite impressed.
Once they were close enough and before it would end up in the ocean, Sonic leaped up as he was completely covered in white and blue aura, more powerful with two rings than he ever was with just one before doing into a Double Super Spin Attack, charging straight towards the fortress. He teared right through the cockpit and back out on the other side. Inside the ship, it began to explode in an yellow glow before the Egg Fortress was completely destroyed and fell into the ocean, sinking into the depths of the sea. Although the impact caused Sonic to be flown back towards the shore yet close to the ocean, spinning around as he winched slightly by the impact.
"Sonic!" Tails and Amy exclaimed in worry as the former tried to fly the X Tornado faster to catch him.
"SONIC!" Chris exclaimed in dismay, and without even realizing it, he raced from the beach and into the sea to try and save him, while Eggman screamed at the atonishing speed the young giant was making. Nearly at the same speed level as the teenage blue hedgehog.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! Hey, put me down before you go running off for a little swim!" The evil scientist wailed in fear, then childishly crying out. "I want my Mommy!"
When Sonic saw that he wasn't going to be able to land safely on the X Tornado and that he was about to crash into the ocean and drown, he squeezed his eyes shut while bracing himself. 'Well...This is it...At least Chris and I saved the world again.'
"Can't you make this thing go any faster!?" Amy cried out worriedly, fearing that they might not be able to save Sonic on time.
"I'm trying, but we can only go faster if we had a Chaos Emerald! We're not gonna make it!" Tails exclaimed, desperately trying to make his plane go faster without busting the engines. Just then he and the pink hedgehog behind him heard loud boom and splashing sounds and looked to their left and saw, to their surprise, was Chris who was running and somehow managed to out-run the X Tornado, the water only up to the upper thighs of his legs.
While the two young Mobians were shocked, they saw to their relief that their giant friend was now able to be exactly where Sonic would end up landing, with the water up to his hips.
Also hearing the splashes and booms as he continued to descend, Sonic opened his eyes curiously and found to his relief, his giant best friend and immediately he knew he would be safe.
"Hi, Chris!" Sonic called out, though he was admittedly a little nervous, but he'd take in being in his friend's huge hand than being in water anyday.
"I GOTCHA!" Chris called back, holding out his right hand as a landing pad for his small hedgehog friend.
Feeling less dizzy and slightly recovered knowing that he was safe, the blue hedgehog flipped around and landedly in a crouch right in the middle of the huge palm, the soft skin cushioning his landing. Sonic wobbled a bit, then yelped in fright when Chris then closed his hand around him like catching a butterfly and left the cobalt teenager in the dark. But thankfully it was only for a brief moment as the giant boy brought his hand to his face before opening it, and when he noticed this, Sonic let out a brief sigh of relief.
"ARE YOU OKAY, SONIC?" Chris asked, worried that his best friend was hurt.
"I'm fine, Chris. Nice catch!" Sonic replied, which eased the giant boy's worries. The two smiled at each other as the blue hedgehog praised. "That was a great throw you did, buddy! You really sent Eggman's dumb fortress flying!"
"I ONLY DID WHAT I COULD TO HELP OUT, SONIC. I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING MUCH." The giant boy carefully shrugged.
"Are you kidding? Ya' saved me more times than I can count in the last couple of days, you helped other people to get to safety, you caught Eggman and his fortress, and you even stopped a few of the giant robots. You're a hero." The hero of Mobius pointed out.
"REALLY? YOU THINK SO?" Chris asked happily, surprised by the praise despite putting himself into danger even though he was a giant now.
Sonic nodded, smiling warmly at his friend. "I'm really proud of ya', Chris. We all are."
"THANKS, SONIC." The giant boy smiled warmly back, gently bringing the 'tiny' hedgehog close to his face as the later then did his best to hug it, the two friends closing their eyes as their friendship would always remain, whether the twelve year old was a giant or not. Though he did wish he could hug Sonic right about now.
"You'll be back to normal soon, buddy." Sonic whispered, as though reading the boy's thoughts. "I promise. But no matter what happens, we'll always be friends."
That cheered Chris up a whole lot, as he reluctantly but carefully moved the small hedgehog away slightly, with the two smiling at each other. Though their moment was interrupted when Eggman then called out irritatingly.
"Excuse me, boys!?" The evil scientist snapped, causing Sonic and Chris to gaze at their enemy in the boy's left hand. "Can't you two save your mushy moment for later!? I can't stand in being trapped like this any longer! What am I, chopped liver!?"
That only made the two gaze at him with annoyed looks as the cobalt speedster folded his arms together and said. "You keep up with that attitude, Eggman, and we might consider in having Chris stay like this for the rest of the week just so he can hold you as long as he wanted."
"OR WE COULD JUST DROP YOU INTO THE OCEAN. OR MAYBE I COULD EAT YOU UP, IF YOU PREFER." Chris teasingly threatenened with an 'evil' look on his face. It worked like a charm as the scientist trapped in his grasp flinched in fear.
"Y-You wouldn't dare!" Eggman protested, becoming more pale in fear as he began to sweat and shake.
While Sonic was a bit scared himself with a nervous sweat drop, he played along while muttering teasingly."It'll be like having a soft boiled egg. Hey, maybe we can use the salt water to add in the salt."
Even though he realized that that joke-threat was a bit too much, the two laughed which terrified their enemy even further.
"Alright, alright! I'll behave! Just don't drop or eat me, please!" Eggman pleaded fearfully as he was too terrified to hear the teasing in his enemies' voices, even though the being eaten part was a joke, he didn't fancy on taking a long swim back to shore where he could potentially be attacked by sharks who would no doubt eat him for real.
"There, that wasn't so hard, was it?" Sonic grinned, snickering.
"...I hate that hedgehog." The mad doctor grumbled under his breath.
"Hey, guys!" Tails called through the plane's megaphone. "We should head over to Eggman's base to use the machine to shrink Chris and then head back!"
But before Sonic or Chris could respond their agreements, not only did they, their friends and their enemy hear more waves splashing, but they also heard engine sounds of helicopters, and Amy then looked over her shoulder before she cried out in alarm.
"AH! We've got company!" The twelve year old hedgehog exclaimed in dismay.
As Tails looked over to his left while Chris turned around so that he and Sonic could both see, they all cried out in alarm as they saw three Navy ships and three helicopters head straight towards them, stopping just about a few safe feet from where the giant boy was.
"Oh, great! Just when things couldn't get any worse!" Sonic groaned in frustration, knowing that the government and the military weren't going to be nice to them despite that he and his friends saved the world and the whole thing was all Eggman's fault.
Apparently it did, because on the deck, were not only Jeromy and a few officials ready to attack Chris and arrest Dr. Eggman, Sonic, Tails and Amy, but to the group's dismay, Chuck, Tanaka, and Ella who were in handcuffs and forced to stand by the President's aid's side.
"GRANDPA!? MR. TANAKA! ELLA!" Chris exclaimed in dismay.
"You guys were arrested too!?" Sonic shouted, horrified.
"Sorry, kids. We got caught before we could meet up with you." The elder Thorndkye explained sourly.
That shocked the three Mobians and their giant friend, before the blue hedgehog demanded angrily at the authorities. "What do you guys think you're doing!?"
"What is right for the people, you criminal!" Jeromy declared though the megaphone, even though he was terrified for being this close to a giant boy.
"What do you mean, criminal?" Amy demanded through the megaphone on the X Tornado. "Sonic didn't do anything wrong!"
The aid ignored her and declared. "Sonic the Hedgehog, for acts of lying to people across the globe, secretly working for Dr. Eggman so you could steal all of the fame, putting people's lives at risk and for growing this twelve year old criminal into a giant, you, Dr. Eggman, Christopher Thorndyke, Tails the Fox and Amy the Hedgehog are all under arrest!"
"Hey, what are you talkin' about!? I didn't steal anybody's fame and there's no way in a million years I'd ever work for Eggman! He's the one who caused my friend Chris to grow into a giant in the first place!" Sonic protested.
"As much as I hate to confess, my original plan was to vaporate Sonic yesterday, but his little friend got in the way yet he was perfectly fine, but what really happened was that two of my idiotic robots switched the laser cannon which was broken with my growth way I use to enlarge my creations!" Eggman admitted as he wanted to get this over and done with despite he would have to spend time in jail.
Jeromy didn't see it as mainly Eggman's fault as he believed he finally found perfect evidence to prove that Sonic isn't to be trusted, and this would make him the real hero, thus increasing the President's chances in getting re-elected.
"So it proves that Sonic is a danger to the socity, especially for putting children at risk." He declared, glaring at Sonic and added. "You let him grow because you want to keep on pretending to be a hero, when you should have gone for a better life, like being in high school! But you are guilty for distrupting public safety and trust and plotted this scheme for years!"
That's when it registered in Sonic's mind as he glared at the aid back. "So that's how it is, huh? You're jealous because I've been doing the right thing and want to replace me as the hero of Mobius. You think I'm the bad guy here? Let me tell you something, pal! I began fighting Eggman because I was the only one fast enough who could! I know that it's my fault that Chris ended up turning into a giant, but I promised we'd turn him back to normal and I never, ever break my promises!"
"Save it, hedgehog and confess before it gets harder!" Jeromy snapped.
Chris, unable to stand in the threat of Sonic getting arrested because of a misunderstanding and Eggman's doing, and wanting to protect his best friend from going to jail, knew what he had to do to protect the blue hedgehog.
"NO!" Chris exclaimed as he gently but quickly wrapped his fingers around Sonic who cried out in alarm and surprise, clasping him like a toy and held him close to his chest. Everyone gasped in shock by this course of action. "YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM!"
"Chris, what're you doin'!?" Sonic cried out, grunting as he wiggled and squirmed to try and free himself, but the giant grip was too strong for him. "Let me go! I can handle it!"
He then screamed as his giant friend drew him towards his face to gaze at the blue hedgehog fearfully, the twelve year old boy holding Sonic at eye level.
"THEY WANT TO ARREST YOU WHEN YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!" Chris pointed out. As he did, he couldn't help but again feel the liking of holding the cobalt teenager in his hand as the desire to protect him from everything increased.
"It's gonna be okay, Chris! We can figure this out! Just please, loosen up, will ya?" The fifteen year old pleaded.
But the trance began to creep back as the giant twelve year old boy softly smiled, tightening his grip ever so slightly on the hero of Mobius. The power to protect him, to hold him within his grasp and never letting go, to keep the blue hedgehog for himself was difficult to resist. Then suddenly realizing what he was going again despite that he did want to keep Sonic forever, Chris shook his head again to get rid of the trance. It was getting worse and he knew it. He had to turn back to normal really soon or else he would completely lose his mind.
"I JUST DON'T WANT YOU TO GO TO JAIL, SONIC." The giant boy protested.
"I won't be. It's gonna be alright." Sonic reassured, despite the feeling of fear that crept up inside him as he saw the trance-like look in his giant friend's eyes once more, but when he saw that Chris managed to snap out of it, he felt a small wave of relief wash over him.
"Chris, stop holding him like that!" Chuck shouted as he had been shocked to have seen his grandson do that again.
"I know what's happening! Sonic has hypnotized him into pretending to be scared while being held like a toy! The young Thorndyke is going to destroy us all, or use us as toys and our city as a playground!" Jeromy exclaimed, while the soldiers aimed threateningly at Chris, Sonic and Eggman who quivered and sweat in fear.
"NO! Don't shoot him!" Sonic pleaded, holding out a hand to stop the army from making a fatal mistake.
"Stop! We know how to get Chris back to normal, and then we'll let you have Eggman to take to jail!" Tails shouted as well.
"You can't hurt our friend!" Amy pleaded.
"Sonic has let him grow into a giant! That's an act of evil!" The President's aid announced.
"I didn't want Chris to turn into a giant! I didn't even want him to get hurt!" The blue hedgehog exclaimed, feeling a heavy weight of guilt rise up again as he knew that Jeromy was right about that. If he hadn't brought Amy and Chris with him to the farm for a day out, he would've easily handled Eggman on his own with Tails' help in the X Tornado, then one of this would've happened. Sonic deeply wished he could go back in time and stop this mess from happening.
"But you still-"
"SONIC DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!" Chris snapped so loudly that almost everyone had to cover their ears to avoid in doing deaf. Even Sonic had to cover his ears, while the soldiers, police officers, and Jeromy trembled in fear, which made the twelve year old boy speak as softly as he could. "SORRY. IT'S JUST THAT, YOU CAN'T JUST ACCUSE SONIC FOR THINGS HE DIDN'T DO. EGGMAN CAUSED THIS MESS TO HAPPEN WHICH RUINED OUR DAY OUT IN JUST HAVING FUN BY HANGING OUT TOGETHER. I DIDN'T WANT SONIC TO GET HURT OR KILLED BY EGGMAN'S MACHINE, SO I MADE MY CHOICE TO SAVE HIM. FRIENDS LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER, JUST LIKE FAMILIES DO. I'D DO IT AGAIN IF I HAD TO. SONIC HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR EVERYBODY, AND SOME OF US WANTED TO DO THE SAME FOR HIM AND FOR THE WORLD. HE WASN'T THE CAUSE FOR ALL OF THIS, SO PLEASE, DON'T ARREST HIM, OR OUR FRIENDS, OR EVEN MY FAMILY. THAT'S ALL I'M ASKING FOR."
Everyone hearing this and were actually willing to listen felt their heart strings pulled, some of them coming tearful, especially Tails, Amy and Ella. Even Sonic whispered his human friend's name with a couple of tears leaking as the blue hedgehog sniffled, struggling to stop himself from crying again.
"I think we can overturn that." Another voice spoke from behind Jeromy who along every everyone else on deck spun around and saw, to their and everybody else's surprise, was the President as the helicopter he flew in landed on the ship and he exited the aircraft, approaching as he stood his aid's side. "It's been a while."
"Mr. President?/MR. PRESIDENT?" Jeromy, Chuck, Ella, Tanaka, Sonic, Tails, Amy and Chris all asked in unison, stunned to see the man in charge being here.
"Ah, sir! You're just in time! We were just about to arrest Sonic the Hedgehog as we have exposed the truth about his criminal records." Jeromy greeted and gestured.
"I see what you're about to do and I've heard everything." The President began, which horrified Sonic's group as they all gasped in dismay.
"Mr. President, wait! You've got it all wrong! We didn't mean for this to happen, it was Eggman's doing!" Sonic protested.
"We know a way how to make Eggman turn Chris back to normal!" Tails added via the X Tornado.
"With what? Another machine to destroy us all?" Jeromy questioned sarcastically as he glared at the group, feeling victory wash over him.
Eggman growled. "How rude! You're utterly delusional! Even I know that Sonic isn't the type to be a criminal! That blue brat and his friends are the thorns on my side!"
"Who do you think you are, talking to him like that?" Amy demanded angrily.
"Guys, easy." Sonic called out to get his friends to settle down. He then gazed up at Chris and requested. "Chris, please put me down onto the deck. I have to speak to them."
Shocked and horrified, with a thought that appeared in his mind as Chris had a half-trance like desire to simply say, 'NO. I DON'T WANT TO LET YOU GO. YOU'RE MINE. MINE! I WON'T LET YOU BE TAKEN AWAY FROM ME EVER AGAIN!' he shook his head. "SONIC, NO!"
"I'll be okay. Just trust me." The blue hedgehog reassured, smiling with hints of sadness in his eyes as he knew what he had to do.
Tightening his grip on Sonic at first as he wanted to hold onto him, he knew that this was only making things worse. So Chris hesitantly and sadly nodded, before he reluctantly opened up his hand to allow the blue hedgehog to stand on his palm and then lowered it onto the deck as the people on board stepped back a little, but relaxed when they saw that the boy wasn't going to hurt them. Instead, Sonic leaped off the ship as his giant friend moved his hand away while the blue hedgehog gave him and the others a sad smile, which the three youngsters looked back at him worriedly.
Sonic then turned back to the President who stared back, saying to the man in charge. "Mr. President, I'm really sorry for putting Chris in danger and didn't stop Eggman from doing this on time. But you gotta understand. None of us knew what was going to happen, and even before my friend grew last night or this morning, I felt awful that he almost died and I still do. You can arrest me if you want, but don't hurt my friends. I didn't become a hero just so I could be famous since I like my privacy but at the same time, I hang out with the people I really love so much; my best friends Tails, Chris, Amy, even Cream and Cheese and occasionally Knuckles when I get the chance."
He paused before continuing. "I became a hero because it was the right thing to do, and I was the only one fast enough to stop Eggman at the time. But there are days when even I need help and I do mess up sometimes. Because the reality is, even heroes make mistakes. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised that even the legendary demigod hero Hercules made mistakes in the olden days."
"HE HAS A GOOD POINT./He has a good point." Chris and Tails both murmured.
"Young man, don't presume to stand there and lecture me about people with benovelent hearts and helping other people. In all my years I've never worked with anyone who is a fool and I don't intend to start now." The President informed the blue hedgehog kindly with a warm smile. He then declared to his aid next to him as he finally made his decision. "So Jeromy, you're fired."
"WHAT!?" Jeromy exclaimed, horrified by this. Did he hear just right? The President...was firing him!? For what!?
"You're fired! You accuse Sonic the Hedgehog wrongly for Dr. Eggman's crimes and mainly because you want me to win the next election so that you could keep your job. Will now you can kiss it goodbye!" The older man frowned at his now ex-aid, before turning to the soldiers and ordered. "Take him away and lock him up. I'll deal with his punishment later. In the meantime, release Professor Thorndyke, Mr. Tanaka and Miss Ella, if you please."
"Oooh! It's just not fair!" Jeromy wailed as his life was now ruined, before two men, thankful as they grew tired of following his orders, grabbed hold of his arms and cuffed his wrists together before taking him to the helicopter. In the meantime, Chuck and the two house servants were uncuffed and released, much to the relief of Sonic and his friends who all felt glad that the President was on their side.
"Wow...Thanks, Mr. President." Sonic said to the human man. "I dunno what to say."
"It's perfectly alright, Sonic. I deeply apologize for Jeromy's actions against you and your friends, because all of you, especially young Christopher Thorndyke, are all heroes for saving the city from the evil Dr. Eggman's attacks once again. Whether the boy is big or not, you both have proven that your friendship in each other and the rest of your friends and your kindess to all of Mobius is just as strong as ever before." The President responded.
The blue hedgehog scratched the top of his head. "Nah, it's okay. We're not gonna hold a grudge. Everybody makes mistakes."
"True." The man chuckled as Sonic joined him, before asking. "Now then, how can Dr. Eggman turn your friend back to normal?"
"We know just the thing." Sonic declared. "You're welcome to join us to make sure Eggman behaves."
"It would be our pleasure." Said the President.
"And why should these ingrates be in MY secret base!? Don't I get a say in this?" Eggman protested furiously as this only increased his chances in getting arrested.
"NO!/NO!" Everyone else snapped angrily at the evil scientist who yelped in fear with a sweat drop.
"Oh, by the way, Doctor. We've come and collected your robots that escaped from your giant fortress." The President spoke up, just as several more soldiers came in, forcing Decoe and Bocoe to walk as their metal wrists were cuffed while duct type sealed Orbot and Cubot tightly to prevent them from doing anything. That made Sonic and his friends laugh at the minions' predicament.
"To think this morning we were flying high." Bocoe moaned.
"Now look at us: Jailbirds." Decoe whined.
"I GUESS IT GOES TO SHOW THAT EVEN ROBOTS HAVE BAD DAYS." Chris remarked jokingly.
"Took the words right outta my mouth, buddy." Sonic smirked with his eyes closed, before turning and asked. "So, whaddya say we head over to Egghead's base and get you back to normal?"
The giant boy nodded as while he was admittedly sad to be turning back to normal as he was really beginning to like being a giant, he couldn't wait to go back to normal. "SOUNDS GOOD TO ME."
Around two hours later as everyone gathered outside of Eggman's base since Chris couldn't fit in as the doors were too small for him to fit through, so Eggman and his robots had to go in to collect the shrinking ray, under heavy escourt from GUN, Sonic, Tails and even Amy who threatened to use her hammer on the evil scientist, and after locating the promised machine, everyone came back outside.
"Just as I promised, it only works on reversing the growth ray's effects." Eggman explained as he was setting up the machine, aiming it at Chris who stood nervously and hoping that it was what the evil man said it was.
"You sure about that?" Sonic asked suspiciously as he still didn't trust his enemy's words. "How do we know that you won't end up shrinking all of us into the size of toys?"
"IF HE TRIES THAT, I'LL MAKE HIM PAY FOR IT." Chris remarked, glaring angrily at Eggman who gulped nervously.
"Plus he is in no position to do that with you and the military here anyway." Chuck agreed with his arms folded.
The giant twelve year old began to reach out at the evil scientist while the military also move in with their weapons, making Eggman tremble.
"Alright, alright! I get the point!" Eggman waved his hands in terror and defense, while Decoe, Bocoe, Orbot and Cubot(who were both still taped tightly) shivered in fear. "Just don't hurt me!"
"Well then, you ready, Chris?" Sonic asked his friend, then noticed that the giant boy looked a bit hesitant. "Chris? You okay?"
"YEAH, I'M FINE. IT'S JUST...WELL, FOR THE WHOLE DAY, BEING A GIANT AT FIRST WAS SCARY, BUT WHAT WAS MORE SCARY WAS THAT I BEGAN TO REALLY LIKE IT, TO BE ABLE TO BE STRONG AND PROTECT YOU, GRANDPA, TAILS, AMY AND EVERYBODY ELSE. I JUST WANNA SAY THAT I'M REALLY SORRY ABOUT EARLIER, SONIC." Chris began, lowering his gaze as he knelt on both knees.
"It's okay. I'm sorry that you risked your life yesterday to save me and ended up turning into a giant. But whether you are one or not, you'll always be one of my best buddies. No matter what." Sonic replied, approaching his friend bravely while everyone else(except for the villains who were still trembling in fear even though Decoe and Bocoe both found this emotional as they went, 'Awwwwww...') all smiled warmly at the two of them for being such good friends.
The giant boy smiled with a nod, before asking sheepishly. "UM, IF IT'S ALRIGHT, CAN I...HOLD YOU IN MY HAND FOR A FEW MINUTES? IT'S GOING TO BE FOR THE LAST TIME."
"Sure. No problem." The blue hedgehog nodded as he knew that this would(hopefully) be the only time that Chris would be a giant.
While Tails and the others smiled even though he and Amy did feel a bit left out but decided that they prefer being in the air via flying in the X Tornado, the young Thorndyke smiled before lowering his left hand and carefully clasped Sonic like a tiny toy. The President quickly held up his hand to silently order the officials to stand down and lower their weapons as he knew that no one was going to get hurt. Chris then lifted his hand to his face at first with the blue hedgehog within his grasp. Like a few times before, he enjoyed holding his best friend like a tiny doll or action figure, not wanting to let him go and just wanted to hold him forever.
'EVEN THOUGH I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK TO NORMAL, THIS STILL FEELS SO...SO RIGHT. SO PERFECT. IT'S LIKE SONIC REALLY IS ALL MINE. I WISH I COULD STAY LIKE THIS AND KEEP HIM FOREVER...BUT NO, IT'S REALLY NOT RIGHT TO THINK THAT WAY.' Chris thought to himself, smiling warmly at him before hugging Sonic close to his chest, holding him with both hands as Sonic did his best to return it.
After a few moments, Chris drew Sonic away and the two smiled at each other, before the former then stroked the latter's head gently and then tickled him.
"Hahahaha! H-hey! C-Cut that out, will ya! Ah ha ha ha ha ha!" Sonic laughed hysterically. While his friends, the President and few officiers chuckled down below, Chris grinned as he went into a full on tickle attack. "H-help! A giant's tickl-tickling me to d-death!"
"YOU'RE MINE NOW, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. I WILL KEEP YOU FOREVER AND EVER! HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH!" The giant boy teasingly declared.
"Come on, boys. That's enough." Chuck told them as he knew that as much as he didn't want ruin the boys' playtime, they didn't have much time left.
Knowing that his grandfather was right, Chris reluctantly stopped tickling Sonic before hesitantly but gently put him back down onto the ground. Once the blue hedgehog leaped off, he gave his friend a thumbs up before asking. "Ready?"
"YEAH, NOW I AM." Chris nodded, unable to wait to get back to normal again, before he stood up and waited for Eggman to shrink him.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Turn Chris back to normal now!" Amy ordered, her hammer ready as she gave the bad guys her best evil glare.
"Alright, alright. Hold your horses." Eggman grumbled as he carefully aimed his Shrinking Ray at the giant boy, informing him to hold still which he nervously but obdiently did so.
After the Shrinking Ray warmed up, it sent a large beam at the twelve year old who yelped at first, but as he was engulfed by the blue electrical light, he began to shrink smaller and smaller, from 130 feet, to 115, to 100, to 90, and smaller until finally the young Thorndyke was back to his original size. Seeing that he was back to normal, Chris smiled happily and began to cheer on.
"It worked! I'm back to normal!" Chris celebrated, before racing over to his friends and grandfather, calling out to them. Yet it was Sonic, being the speedy hedgehog that he was, who reached him first. "Sonic!"
"Chris!" Sonic responded, as he happily leaped into his human best friend's arms laughing while the twelve year old boy wrapped his arms around him and spun the blue hedgehog around. They were finally reunited in normal size and just held each other for a long moment, not wanting to let go. "Oh, Chris! I'm so glad that you're okay!"
"Me too, Sonic. It's better being this height than being a giant even though it was fun while it lasted. But just for a little bit." Chris replied, tears leaking and falling.
"Yeah, a BIG little bit." Sonic said teasingly, even though tears were sliding free from his eyes as well. The two smiled at each other happily, just as Tails, Amy, Chuck and Ella all called out to them and as the two friends noticed, they were all joined into the great big hug as they celebrated the fact that things were finally back to normal.
The President smiled warmly as did some of his men, while Eggman and his robots, while relieved that Chris was back to normal, now knew that they were in for jail time.
"I'll get that hedgehog someday. Just you wait...!" The evil scientist growled, already vowing revenge on his young enemies.
He will make sure of it.
A few days later as things had returned to normal, and the damage done to the city was all onto the blame of Dr. Eggman, while Sonic and his friends, especially Chris, were all hailed as heroes, as usual, and were presented by the President for medals of bravery and honor for having done the right thing, while Jeromy was locked up for two months before being sent to work in the local grochery store. Now, the blue hedgehog, the twelve year old boy, the eight year old fox, and the twelve year old pink hedgehog were all in the park, relaxing. With Eggman and his robots in jail, things were once again peaceful.
"I'm glad things worked out the way they did." Chris stated as he sat with his friends.
"Me too. It's been such a crazy day back then." Amy agreed, smiling happily.
"Well, now that Eggman's in jail, we can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet for a while." Tails said happily.
"You said it, guys." Sonic agreed, lying on the hill with his best friends. He gazed at them with a warm smile. "You know the best part is?"
His friends all gazed at him curiously, as he continued. "Size doesn't count when it comes to friendship. As long as we have each other, nothing will drive us apart, right?"
They all smiled as the human boy of the group nodded, before admitting. "Yeah, but...I kinda miss being a giant and, no offense but holding you was really fun."
"Yeah, it was kinda cool being held knowing that I was safe at the same time, but once in a lifetime is more than enough for me. No offense." Sonic replied.
"I know. That's why I went to the toy store and bought these instead." Chris replied, and as his Mobian friends wondered what he was talking about, he reached into his back-pack he brought with him and held out small figurines based on them, much to their surprise. "See? Now I can hang out with you guys and hold you at the same time, and also that Tails and Amy wouldn't miss out on this experience either!"
"Ha ha ha! Good one, Chris! I like it!" Sonic laughed with a grin, with Tails, Amy and Chris all laughing at the same time, before they all turned back to just gaze at the sky, with warm smiled on their faces.
While Chris wondered if he could ever get a chance to grow into a giant again at the right time and right place, he was more than happy to be normal sized to hang out with his best friends. Sonic in the meantime, was more than happy to be with the people he loved dearly so much, and had promised himself to try harder to protect them from now on.
Because no matter what size they were, they will always be best friends, forever.

A/N: Finally, after several months of waiting, the story is finally over! Sorry that the ending was kinda of rushed, but I did my best with it with the little time that I had and I wanted to post something before I go into a week or two hiatus. The story of Sonic, Dr. Eggman Blew up Chris is finally finished!
I might do a sequel to this or something similar in the future, but that's left for a debate for the time being.
