The dark cloud vanished and the bright afternoon sun shone through the windows as Emma got off the ground and looked at her parents, Snow and David, laying on the ground unconscious.
"What happened?" Emma whispered to herself.
Emma looked out the window and realized where she was. The Enchanted Forest. She didn't understand how she got there or why. The last thing she remembered was eating lunch with her parents and husband, Hook, when a dark cloud encompassed the house. Snow and David regained consciousness and looked at Emma.
"What happened?" Snow asked.
"I don't know" Emma said. "But, somehow we ended up in the Enchanted Forest."
Snow looked at David.
"We're home" Snow said, smiling.
Emma headed toward the door.
"Where are you off to?" David asked.
"I need to find Hook" Emma said.
"Well, we'll come with you" Snow said.
"It's fine" Emma said. "I can find him on my own."
Emma walked out of the castle and Snow looked at David.
"Don't you see what's happening here?" Snow asked. "We've been given a chance to turn Emma into the princess she should've been all along."
"Snow, I know that's what you want" David said. "But, you need to be prepared that our daughter is a grown woman who didn't grow up being a princess. She may not want to accept this role."
"But, it's her legacy" Snow said. "We're back in the Enchanted Forest. This is our chance. It's her chance."
David looked at Snow with concern.
Emma ran through the open field calling for Hook, but there was no sign of him, and then she ran into Belle.
"Belle" Emma said, shocked. "You got here too?"
"Yeah" Belle said. "But, I can't find Rumple anywhere. Have you seen him?"
"No I haven't" Emma said. "Have you seen Hook?"
"I haven't" Belle said. "What's going on here?"
"I have no idea" Emma said.
Zelena ran up to them.
"Have any of you seen Regina?" Zelena asked.
"Regina is missing too?" Emma asked.
"I haven't been able to find her" Zelena said.
"So Hook, Rumple and Regina are all missing" Emma said. "Who else is missing?"
"No idea" Zelena said.
"Can you two help me?" Emma asked.
"Sure" Belle said. "What do you need?"
"Find everyone you can and have them come back here" Emma said. "We need to know who is here and who is missing. We need to make sure everyone who is here is alright and then we'll work on finding everyone who is missing, including our loved ones."
"Alright" Belle said.
Belle took off to find people and Emma looked at Zelena.
"I feel so helpless" Zelena said. "I know it's been a while since I gave up my magic, but this is the first time where I really miss it."
"I know this is hard" Emma said. "But, we will find them. I promise."
Zelena ran off to find people as Emma walked back into the castle.
Snow and David walked over to Emma.
"No luck finding Hook?" Snow asked.
"No" Emma said. "And not only that, Regina and Rumple are missing too. I have Belle and Zelena gathering everyone that's here so we can make sure they're safe and figure out if anyone else is missing."
Snow smiled.
"What?" Emma asked.
"You sound like a real leader" Snow said. "Like a princess protecting her people."
"I am not a princess" Emma said.
"But, you are. Just like me" Snow said. "And this is our kingdom. These are our people. And you are jumping to their aid just like a true princess."
Emma looked at David, pleading with her eyes for him to step in, but he remained silent. Emma looked at Snow, who was so happy that her daughter was finally able to be a princess, and couldn't bare to tell her that she wasn't interested. So she decided to go along with it. They weren't going to be in the Enchanted Forest that long anyway.
In Storybrooke, Rumple, Regina and Hook met up on Main Street.
"Any luck?" Regina asked.
"No sign of any of them" Hook said. "No sign that they were ever here."
"Where could they have gone?" Regina asked.
"There's one way to find out" Rumple said. "But, we'll need a magic bean."
"There are no magic beans anywhere" Regina said.
"We have to find one" Hook said. "We all have loved ones to find."
"Alright" Regina said. "Hook and I will try to find a bean."
"And then meet me at the shop" Rumple said.
Rumple headed toward his pawnshop as Regina and Hook looked at each other.
"This place is like a ghost town" Hook said.
"Well, hopefully we will be reunited with everyone sooner rather than later" Regina said. "Let's go."
Regina and Hook walked down Main Street.
About an hour later in the Enchanted Forest, everyone was gathered in the open field outside the castle and Snow, David and Emma walked out onto the balcony.
"Wow. I never realized how many people are here" Emma said.
"And they're counting on you to put them at ease" Snow said.
Emma looked out at everyone talking amongst themselves.
"Attention everyone" Emma said, in a loud, commanding voice.
Everyone looked up at the Charming family.
"I know you are all confused as to how we got back here and maybe even concerned" Emma said. "But, we need your help. We need you come inside the castle if you are injured or if a family member or friend is missing. If you are not injured or missing someone, then please sign the paper at the side of the castle so we know who is here. We will figure this out, but we can't do it alone. We need every single one of you to help us out."
Everyone proceeded to the side of the castle and lined up to sign the paper.
"Well, it looks like a good sign" David said. "Everyone is going to sign the paper and no one is coming into the castle. No one is injured and only three people are missing."
"Yeah, but they're family" Emma said. "I just hope they're safe."
"You know that they're fighters" Snow said. "They'll be okay and we will find them."
"I'm just glad Henry left Storybrooke" Emma said. "That way he wasn't caught up in this mess."
Snow and David each placed a hand on Emma's shoulders and then they headed into the castle.
Regina and Hook walked into Rumple's pawnshop to see him with a globe.
"Neverland" Regina said, realizing where she had seen it before. "You used that to discover where Henry was."
"How is this supposed to help us now?" Hook asked.
"It can show you where a relative is when it comes in contact with blood" Rumple said. "Out of the three of us, Regina is the only one with a blood relative missing."
"Zelena" Regina said. "Do you think it'll work?"
"I do" Rumple said. "And all we can do is hope that Zelena is with the others, otherwise we are back to square one."
"Well we found a bean" Regina said. "It wasn't easy to find, but there was one buried in the grass from when the Charmings were harvesting them to get back to the Enchanted Forest. I have no idea how it survived all of these years, but it's a good thing it did."
Regina stood in front of the globe and pricked her finger on the needle at the top and let the blood fall onto the globe. The globe revealed the Enchanted Forest, so Hook threw the bean and he, Rumple and Regina went through the portal.
Emma walked to Snow and David's room to see Snow going through her closet.
"Mom" Emma said, knocking on the open door. "You wanted to see me?"
"Yes" Snow said. "Come in here."
Emma walked into the room and Snow pulled out a gown.
"This would look perfect on you" Snow said. "Try it on."
"Mom, I'm not playing dress-up" Emma said. "We have a crisis on our hands."
"You are a princess" Snow said. "It's time you looked the part."
"Mom, I am not wearing that" Emma said.
"Well, I'm sure we can find another one for you" Snow said, looking at the gowns in the closet.
Emma sighed. She wasn't sure how much longer she could stand pretending to be okay with any of this. She just wanted to find Hook, Regina and Rumple and get everyone out of there.
"I'll be back" Emma said.
Emma walked out of the room.
Emma walked into her room to see David standing there.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" Emma asked.
"Just thinking about what could have been" David said.
"Not you too" Emma said, frustrated.
"Your mom going overboard on the princess stuff?" David asked.
"Yeah" Emma said. "It's driving me crazy. She's in your room looking for gowns for me as we speak."
"I know" David said. "Your mom thinks this is a second chance for you to become the princess you were always supposed to be."
"But, that's not who I am" Emma said.
"I know" David said. "But, this means a lot to your mom."
"I can see that" Emma said.
"So, can't you just play the part?" David asked.
"I guess" Emma sighed. "For a little while longer."
David hugged Emma and then she walked out of her room and into David and Snow's room, where she regrettably agreed to wear the gown.
A bright light shone through the window, so Snow, David and Emma ran out of the castle to see what it was. They saw Belle and Zelena standing there with Regina, Rumple and Hook. Emma ran up to Hook and kissed him.
"I am so happy that you're okay" Emma said. "I was so worried when I found out that you weren't here."
"I was worried about you too" Hook said. "We're just lucky that Zelena was with all of you. Regina used Rumple's globe to figure out where Zelena was."
Snow looked at Emma hugging Regina and kissing Hook, before walking back into the castle. David followed her.
David looked at Snow.
"Well, everyone is safe" David said. "That's good news, isn't it?"
"I guess" Snow said.
"What's going on with you?" David asked.
"It's nothing" Snow said, looking out the open door.
"No" David said. "Talk to me. What is going on? Regina, Rumple and Hook are safe and so is everyone else. Our daughter is happy."
"She's the princess she should have always been" Snow said. "And everything is just so perfect."
"So then what's the problem?" David asked.
"Just being back here" Snow said. "With Regina. I hate that I feel this way."
"What way?" David asked.
"I hate her" Snow said. "If it wasn't for her casting the curse, our daughter would have always been the princess."
"Snow" David said, concerned.
"It's just a whole lot of bad memories" Snow said.
Snow went upstairs as David looked outside to see Emma, Hook, Zelena, Regina, Belle and Rumple all talking and getting along.
